listen to the partisan radio/TV personalities, and then go out and make up their minds. It only takes 10 minutes to visit a candidate's website and read their campaign platform. People need to stop expecting to be spoonfed information and take some initiative in this process.

I heard someone condemning Senator Obama's speech yesterday. He was simply repeating as fact something a conservative media personality had said. This person had not listened to the speech nor read a transcript of it. He had simply let someone else make up his mind for him.

If you prefer your pols to speak AND THINK in sound bites, then W's your man!
you've gotten exactly what you deserve. It's unfortunate for the rest of us -- those who can process whole ideas -- that we got what you deserve as well.
Al Gore is a brillliant, articulate, experienced politician who speaks the truth. This oountry is a train wreck. Intelligent, thoughtful public discourse has been replaced by jingoism. A president spouting platitudes and repeating the same refrains over and over again in answer to serious issues brought us the debacle that is Iraq and the tragic spectacle of the Superdome after Katrina.
I'm pretty sure that what I have to say is going to go over the heads of some of the posters on this board, because it's your fear of real ideas that got us where we are.

They both sound like skits, but then again I don't listen to the show....sm
It reads like satire.

Did you by chance catch her show? Or did you get these off a conservative site?

I must have rubbed you the wrong way with suggesting keeping it real...LOL. Sorry.
According to who you listen to or read or watch, this is what they say...
Supposedly his pregnant and unwed mother went to Kenya to follow his "deadbeat" (at least that is what the stories call him) dad. She then wanted to come home but the airlines would not let her because she was due any day. Bottom line...she had Obama in Kenya, flew back to Hawaii, and filed a birth certificate stating he had been born in Hawaii, not Kenya. THere is a whole lot more to the story, but that is about it in a nutshell.

A lawyer in PA brought suit against him to show us his "real" birth certificate. I don't know where that stands now.

I am sure you could Google it and find almost anything you want about it.
Wow - people in this country actually LISTEN
ugh. DOUBLE ugh.
These people did not bother to listen to the sm
WHOLE speech.  They have to wait to get the distorted version from Fixed Noise.  It is very obvious that facts have no worth to the "Chicken Little Clique"; they only care about trying to convince the other sheep that they profess to know what they're talking about.
You sound arrogant and pompous - please read my message
Please keep an open mind and listen to what I have to say and try and see it how others do. I've been reading your previous posts and you sound like you are on a mission to save all the aborted babies (before being aborted). This is the way I feel...I believe in a higher power (our Creator). I feel so strongly that he is a powerful and just God. I believe that when a soul dies it goes to the other side and will live forever in a world of love and will be taken care of. I would rather know that a soul that has been aborted is now living on the other side with our creator in a life of love and compassion being taken care of by the people who have passed on before us. I would rather know they are there rather than having to spend an eternity in he!! on this earth. A baby that lives but was going to be aborted will never be loved the way a baby should be loved. For those with stories that their mother was going to abort but decided to keep you and you were born and you had the most loving family that is wonderful. But I think we all know very well that too many times it doesn't work out like that. The baby is born into a world where the mother blames it for everything bad that happens to her. I have a freind who's mother blames her for being born. She tells her if she never had her then her (the mother) life would have been so much better and she would have been able to accomplish everything she wanted to do, but society forced her into having the baby and now everything is my friends fault and my friend has never felt the kind of love most of us have when growing up. It is so so so sad to see and unfortunately it happens a lot. So as horrible as abortion may seem to some, I think its a Godsend to the unborn baby that is now in the heavens with our God. When being aborted the time length between life and death is short which is a lot better than having to live their whole lives (sometimes over 80 years) in a life of he!!

There are so many reasons that people have to have abortions and I don't think it is anyone's right to judge them for their actions.

I also believe after a person departs this earth and meets our Creator they will have to face some serious times. If you have an abortion of necessity that is one thing, but if you aborted a fetus that is developed or had been born already that is a whole other situation - again between the creator and the person.

I think its very very important that a woman is allowed to make a serious decision like this between themselves, their doctor and nobody else. No political figure or some religious figure giving their opinions of what should be done based on what they believe.

So, that is just my opinion.
I don't see how it can affect her ability to read questions and sit and listen to answers - nm

O asked people not to listen to Limbaugh's venom...
A law? You make me laugh. Limbaugh is just an overrated old drug addict windbag who is a hatemongerer. I hope he blows a gasket while on the air, NOW THAT would be entertaining.

Headlines

Among the headlines of that horrible horrible terrorist attack still ongoing in India, these are just some of the latest headlines of various articles.  This is clearly much bigger than just a couple of "sour grapes" on this website.   These are thousands and thousand of people demanding to know the truth.  We're talking some big democrats and high officials too.  Seems the only ones trying to "debunk" it or claim people are "sour grapes" are the ones who fear the truth.  If all works out well, we may still see Hillary as either President or Vice President.

Two questions you have to ask when the courts have decided: 1.  Will the supreme court rule against the constituion and put a foreign born in the office? or

2.  Okay, Obama, an independent party has examined your birth certificate and you are legitimate, so why in the world didn't you just show proof in the first place?  Why did you get the courts to legally seal these documents (to include your school records) so that nobody could view it hence, creating suspicion and doubt.

So...on to the headlines:

Proofin' the prez: Who's in charge? - Constitutional lawyer says electors have duty to investigate citizenship.

Rathergate II: Certification of Live Birth a clear forgery

100,000 petitioners tell prez-elect: Prove eligibility for office - Throngs sign online demand, reveal frustration over secrecy

Is he or isn't he? The debate over Obama's eligibility - New feature focuses on birth certificate, the U.S. Constitution and doubts.

NBC News finally reports eligibility issue - Says Supreme Court eyes lawsuit "that have capitivated a segment of the blogosphere"

Of all the headlines out there, THIS is the one
Your entire post is based on the false premise that Obama is foreign born. I have already addressed this preposterous notion numerous times over the campaign season and will not waste my time presenting irrefutable facts to those who have no interest in reality beyond the speculation, gossip and outlandish fabrications of the disenfranchised.

Would you mind citing the right-wing rag sources of your so-called "headlines?" I am asking you for this information because I do not find the ignorance displayed in the fringe right's hate blogs the least bit entertaining or enlightening. Beyond Focks News, there is not one single media outlet (and I read and listen to numerous national and international sources on a daily basis) that carries this garbage bag around.

Your first dose of reality should be that the "thousands" of demanding people are not the slightest bit interested in the truth. They have been confronted with it time and time again on this issue, yet continue to reject any and all factual substance in an effort to keep their divisive and hate-filled agenda alive at a time when clearly the country has their eyes turned in a completely opposite direction. Denial will not change the fact that this IS nothing more than sour grapes perpetuated by a handful of Hillary supporters who do not have the sense to follow their own leader's lead in support of the very much American President-Elect and driven by all sorts of myopic, loopy fringe elements. These folks care nothing about honoring the Constitution, much less the will of the American voters, but rather make a mockery of it by their frivolous law suits and show utter contempt and disregard for the clear majority of their fellow citizens who have handed the highest office in the land to Obama.

Please spare us the pontification about your detractors who you perceive "fear the truth." Like I just said, this has nothing to do with the truth. You and your ilk would not know the truth if it walked up and slapped you in the face. Hillary sucked up her disappointment in defeat and has now hopped onboard for the sake of the nation. It's time you folks follow suit.

The courts have spoken already on this issue and will be repeating themselves yet again. The only destiny that lays ahead for your claims is patent dismissal as frivolous and unfounded. There is no question that lays beyond that action that merits further discussion....either on this board or in the courts. Obama is not the one who has created all the "suspicion and doubt"....it is the fringe bull-dog blogosphere that has done that single-handedly...and they seem mighty smug and proud of themselves, unable to recognize the contempt most Americans hold for this most unwelcome, delusional distraction.

I am unable to address the content of any article you have cited here in the absence of a source. You may choose to ponder the "is he or isn't he" question to your heart's content, but please do us all a favor and try to realize that the vast majority of us are not the least bit "captivated" by this MINISCULE SEGMENT of the blogosphere.

It is unbelievable to me that of all the "headlines," including the horror of India's own 9/11, that you would choose to beat this dead horse yet again on this forum. Would it be too much to ask that you at least pause for a single moment, take time out from your holy crusade, and ponder the moment we experienced the carnage of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on our own soil? Perhaps if you recall the "other worldliness" of it all, you may have a moment of clarity of purpose, and can Transcend your fantasies long enough to dredge up a little compassion for the residents of Mumbai and some respect for this somber histoical moment we find ourselves suspended in the day after Thanksgiving.

I for one would welcome a discussion on possible implications of the yet to be identified message and source of India's terrorist attacks, especially in view of the fact that numerous nuclear powers are involved in the scenario at the moment....India, Pakistan, Israel and the ever-present meddling US. This would be a perfect opportunity to entertain ALTERNATIVE approaches to the war on terror....ones that involve the essential element of international cooperation, NOT divisive "you're either with us or against us" rhetoric that has served us so poorly these past 7 years since the WTC attacks.

Obama Not Closing Door on Possible Health Tax

Referring to proposals to tax workers who get expensive insurance policies, Obama, who campaigned against the tax last year, said, "I don't want to prejudge what they're doing."

The unions are going to flip over that one...taxing of benefits.  Benefits are the backbones of unions and their power over their members.  Has it finally sunk in people...you cannot believe a word this man says.  He lies as easily as the rest of us breathe.  And the amazing thing is....it works for him.  Blinded by the obamalight.  lol.

I cant believe people cannot read
The point of the whole post is NOT whether I would allow my kids to do community service or not.  I would.  But I WOULD, NOT OBAMA WOULD.  It is MY choice, my children's choice what we get involved in.  I dont want government mandating to me or my children what we must do with our time.  That is not freedom of choice.
I read about that - soon people making
30 and 40K is the ones he will consider rich and tax. I heard it was 250, then I heard 200, and now I'm hearing between 100 and 150K. I'll tell you Obama says it himself and they ignore it. Meanwhile the Martha Stewarts, Michelle & Barack Obama's, Pelosi, Edwards, Kerry and all those other rich democrats that have so many loopholes and their money hidden in non-taxable stuff will remain rich and we will feel the pain.

I read it. I agree with it. SM

The point is, which seems to escape your level of comprehension somehow, is that it is posted on the CONSERVATIVE board.  Is someone physically making you go there?  Are they holding a gun to your head making you read it, hoping your blood pressure will go so high you will have a stroke?  Does the concept of staying away from things that cause you pain elude you?  I'm just wondering because it sure seems to be a problem.  Of course, I expect a flaming response, even though my tone is conciliatory.  I am sure I will not be disappointed.

Another lame attempt to try to not get people to read the article
Your computer got a virus, yeah right!!!!

You don't like that I'm not drooling all over the O like you are then fine, but to come out and say that articles that are not praising your god gives your computer a virus is a bunch horse hockey.

Sheesh, I would have expected a better excuse than that.

P.S. - Am anxious to hear the supreme courts ruling. They are meeting on the 5th. Although I know that all the O worshippers will try and cut it down for some insane reason. The SC's ruling will determine it. Let's just wait and see.
I agree...have read the same thing. nm

I read that info too, Sam -totally agree.nm
nm
I agree - have never read one post of racism
In fact the total opposite.
Pulling things out of context when people can go read the whole thread proves nothing...
when someone says something posted from a court document with all the references in place is a lie simply because it was reprinted on a conservative website cares nothing about the truth. I said it and I meant it. That is not calling that person a liar. Stop twisting things to your advantage. Not all the liberals on this board play that game. Only a few of you do. Won't debate an issue, just say it is from a right wing rag (even if it is the original court document) and will absolutely not look at both sides of an issue. And based on what I have read about liberalism and what liberals posted on this very board in response to my question...that is the antithesis of true liberal behavior. So there are some of you who do not agree with the tactics either. So please...stop with the attacks. Does not look good on you.
I don't agree with this. I think the people sm

who do not want to say the pledge should be allowed to be silent or leave the room during while it is recited.  Don't stop everyone.

I agree. If two people....sm
want to make that commitment to each other, it's none of my business either.
I am so glad other people agree
I had forgot about that one. And they looted Air Force One, and I also heard they did "unthinkable" things to some of the rooms in the white house that took some major professional cleaners to remove bodily fluids from some of the places when they were upset that Gore didn't win. That might have been a rumor but I wouldn't put it past them. I just don't understand where they came from and why people bow down to them. They are the worst two people to come to Washington since I don't know who. I could understand some of it if they came from a long line of politicians like the Kennedy's or other political families of generations, but these are two individuals (both lawyers) who crawled over and stepped on everyone they needed to to get where they are today. I just don't understand why people worship them.

any responsible homeowner would READ the contract. We sat down with our mortgage company and read each item line by line so we could fully understand what we were signing. I don't feel sorry for those who bought and now claim they didn't understand what they were signing, didn't realize they had an ARM loan or that a balloon payment was coming up. Also, anyone who does get bailed out should have to put up 20% or more in cash the next time they try to buy a home. Too many people used their home as a piggy bank, thinking it was free money.

I agree....simply because what people will say to a caller...
or even on this board or to a friend even...when that person gets to the point of voting...I am not sure all those saying to the pollsters "Obama" will actually vote for him. Remember the exit polls for Kerry...it looked like he was winning everywhere by large margin and when the votes came in...not so. We are not going to know until election night. And I still think it will be close, but I don't think Obama has it sewn up by a long shot.
Again my point is made - you just like arguing and bashing people that don't agree with you
Your bringing up a dead subject while shouting it at us. You started an abortion post on 8/25 and bashed everyone who didn't agree with you, and you were bashing people on 8/22 about the same subject. Everytime someone brought up their viewpoint you be arguing or bashing them. The point I (and others) are making is you keep bringing this up again and again and again and again and when people don't agree with you you bash them, then when they come back to say something you bash them even more. Then when we finally get a break and have new topics, you start another post about the abortion thing again. The abortion issue is getting tiring for all. We know what abortions are, how horrible they are, and we know how babies are made and the stages of their lives (we are MT's and all took the course) but you feel the need to keep it up and up and up and it's getting real old. Besides that it looks like you are posting under other names and then answering yourself.

I want to read people's opinions and questions of issues we are facing. Abortion is not one of them for most of us. Let it go and move on. What I am trying to say is that while I'd like to hear your viewpoints on other issues enough with the abortion and try and not be so argumentative all the time.

Yes, we all have the right to post things, but it looks like you are posting just for the sake of arguing and we're all getting tired of it.

So go ahead bash me some more.
Gourdpainter, I agree with you. So do most people since Obama is ahead of McCain.

McCain doesn't have any solutions except trying to get Palin to tear down Obama with her big mouth.

Don't listen to him either
I put him in the same boat as Rush, although I have to admit not as bad as Rush. Some of Savage's ideas I like, some I don't agree with. I like how he takes someone who is spewing utter garbage and puts them in their place with facts to back it up. He is pretty smart in that regard. Once we heard him and some caller was going on and on and Michael Savage told him he didn't know what he was talking about. They guy was getting so irate and Savage called him a rabbid dog foaming at the mouth then hung up on him. I can't tell you how hard we were laughing in the car thought DH was going to drive off the road.

I'll tell ya though. If I'm in the car and they are on the radio we will listen to them. We do take everything with a grain of salt because they all have motives.
Listen,

I was NOT the one who posted this.  Someone else made that connection and posted it, or they were a reader and are bringing it up again.  To give them the benefit of the doubt, I posted the link so they could see the issues and everybody up in arms about a simple word post, to try and quell the discussion, GOD forbid they attack that OP like you all did me.  My post was about the names and letters in the names and NOTHING trying to link the two.  JUST a name.  Get over it.

I already apologized for offending anyone.  Get over it.

By the way, maybe YOU should apologize for calling your fellow MTs "stupid" in your post.  That's real nice.  Any intelligent person can make their own mind up when it comes to the candidates, and they are not going to base it on their name.  That would be ignorant of them, now wouldn't it?

No sam, listen to me. I am only going to say...sm
this one more time and then I will give up. Last week when Bush presented the initial bill, wonder of wonders, would you believe it, the democrats where anxious to prove they were bipartisan and could have passed the bill he requested, not agreeing with everything but trying to come together for the good of the country. The republicans said no, we want some input, dems agreed and the conditions were added that the repubs asked for, now they are voting against a bill that has what they asked for in it, a bill that their republican president is asking for.
No one will listen until something happens to them. sm
They also rely too much on mainstream media instead of independent media. The media plays a huge role in keeping people divided, distracted, and deceived.

So because I would listen to a gay

person's music....that instantly makes me accept a lifestyle that I find to be disgusting?  That just doesn't make sense.  For someone who preaches God's Word and claims to live by them, you seem to have no problem judging someone for their sins.  You think people should hide their sins because they are ashamed of them but you can't hide your sins from God.  The only thing you can hide your sins from or at least try to hide them from are other people and that just makes you a hypocrit in my book.  Yes, we lead by example but we also have to show people that we too make mistakes and can overcome that.  Hiding our sins just makes us fake.

If a gay person puts out a good song....I'm going to jam to it and that doesn't mean I condone their lifestyle.

I already suggested that but maybe she will listen to you. nm
