that this has been posted, you did not get a single response. The only way we are going to get anything accomplished is to work together as Americans. I guess some just don't get it.

I am amazed that you are saying, I quote
'Everyone said ''give the guy a chance'' and this is what he's doing with it. I am NOT impressed so far...'

On WHAT grounds did people say this?

Did people also say 'Give McCain a chance' or didn't they?

I really wonder that O is supposed to justify EVERY, EVERY MOVE AND STEP he makes.

Great quote
"There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble opinion, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution."
-- John Adams
You say weakness, I say great confidence in the last couple of days
You should watch the news some. Countries all over the world are praising the US for the election of Obama. I take great pride in perhaps the restoration of our image as the leader of the free world and you should do. What weakness you speak of, I have no idea.

I agree with you 100%! Why doesn't a retired general run or someone who knows what he is doing. It's like all the real men have disappeared from politics.
I do agree we are in the last days.
//
Really...143 days. I agree with Joe Biden.
"The job does not lend itself to on-the-job training."
Nope, 4 years 11 days (1471 days or 1383 til 11/4/2012)
You do really need to learn how to count until 11/4/2012 or 1/20/2013.

Also, sorry to hear in four years you won't care anymore.
I am still amazed by how some of you think....
how narrow minded you are, and how you worry what goes on in the bedroom - which is THE main problem!! For your information, homosexuality was taken off the DSM list in 1975 as sexual deviation.

For those who think it is a choice, how wrong you are. I knew I was gay since about 5 years of age and believe me, I would never chose this type of life as it is very hurtful and very hard because of homophobic people who insist on getting involved in my life.

I tried your so-called normal life - I hated every minute of it. I denied who and what I was because of fear. I came to terms with my homosexuality and am very happy that I did.

We really just want to be left alone - to live our life as you - without hate. I agree that there are a lot of gay people who go overboard but there are more straight people who do - such as comparing us with pornographers, etc.

I have found out through life that the homophobes who scream the loudest are usually latent!! Mmmmmm.
I agree, they did great, very classy

I agree 100%. Other great examples of....
socialism...Cuba and Venezuela. See how it is working for them. Ends in dictatorship nearly every single time. People buy into class warfare and by the time they realize the middle class they were trying to save is truly gone and all you have is the "government" and everybody else...all the populace in the lower class. The handwriting is on the wall...and the socialist party of the US (the DNC) has us in its crosshairs...brought to you courtesy of George Soros and his vision of one world government. Hellooo.
I agree with you. As my great aunt always said
It is that simple.
Wow. Never cease to be amazed...sm
But I can appreciate a person who says what's on their mind and not dance around the issue, however wrong she may be.

Outlaw abortion so we can have more cheap labor and then we won't need the Mexicans ~ That's what she's saying here. She's already chalked up the aborted to cheap labor.
He is full of nothing but hot air. Amazed at the following he has.
fffffffffffffffffff
What I am MORE amazed and astounded about is...
that people on this board BUY that hook, line, and sinker, and even when the truth is right there in front of them...talk about stubbornly clinging.
What a great post!! I totally agree with everything you said.

Anyone who knows me personally knows that when Bush was running for President in 2000, I told everyone I know that if he's elected, we'll find ourselves at war with Iraq.  Nobody believed me.

It's ironic that the reason DIDN'T vote for him in 2004 was the very same reason I didn't vote for him in 2000:  I was against war with Iraq.

What is particularly troubling about all this is that Bush appeared to use the tragedy of 9/11 to justify his war against Iraq.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit to find that this war will eventually be deemed as an illegal war.

We don't know what al Quaeda will do next.  Wouldn't surprise me to discover that they were part of the "hacking" team that got ahold of everyone's credit card numbers the other day.

If Bush cares so much about America, he could begin to show it by monitoring our borders. He's been incredibly negligent in that regard.

He promised he would not impose a draft. Yet, recruitment goals haven't been met for several months now. If I had a child of that age, I certainly would try to talk him/her out of joining the military.  The government has proven they lie to soldiers, hold reservists hostage, fail to provide adequate equipment to protect soldiers, etc., etc., etc! He will have to bring back the draft, and we can add that to the gazillion lies he's told.

I think your post was great, and I particularly enjoyed the one regarding Hitler that you wrote above.  You nailed it!!!

Yes, I agree she gave a great response.

Great post, Chele. I agree. Besides,

parents have to consent to ANY OTHER procedure for the child, why would this be any different?

Abortion is a horrible, horrible thing that is used by Planned Parentood to make money and used as birth control.

Great post, MT! I totally agree with you,

I am amazed at the number of people...sm
Who would vote democrat this year but are not simply because Obama is half black.  I have heard this more times than I can say.  I live in the south and I know there are sometimes racist people here.  I am a southerner myself, born here.  But I believe Obama is a better choice because we can't endure another 4 years of the same policies Bush has.  Some people have even said I don't like McCain but I won't vote for a black president.  Well I don't care what color he is.  I want to give someone with new policies a chance.  He may not be good but he may.  The fact that people are being so prejudice for his skin color is just ridiculous.  It is just an unbelievable amount of people who are saying this around here.  I went to a halloween party and everyone was like oh my gosh we may have a black president.  I am like oh well if he can do the job what does it matter?  I am like well if he was white based on his policies would you vote for him?  If the answer is yes then that is just being prejudice.  I am not for interracial couples or any of that but when you can't even vote for a black person you have problems.
I am always amazed at how naive some people are....s/m
He's doing this to enable his admistration, and Congress, the ability to take this country as far and hard to the left, and as fast as he possibly can.

He has a purpose, and it's not for the good welfare of our country.

It's to put our entire country "ON" welfare, and grow the government. This is a major takeover, and you're right about one thing.

He's as transparent as glass to the rest of us.

And we don't want what he's about to bring us to, to our knees with government control over every aspect of our lives.

At least I have the comfort of knowing I didn't vote for him.

Agree...great post. Please come back and share...sm
your ideas.
Great post, Chele... totally agree.nm

I agree. Great article. Thanks, LVMT for posting it.
To m:  LOL.  No problem.  It's very easy to do on this board.
I agree, Kaydie. Great post!!! Thank you for serving
the USA.  My family and I appreciate you!
For Pete's sake, I agree. Let me say, CARE PACKAGES ARE A GREAT THING TO DO!
Let's all send care packages. I will check out the web site you provided and if it's legit my heart and pocketbook will lead me. Trust me, to your surprise I'm not a stingy old witch sitting here not willing to give a dime to the troops but yet preach about how much I love them. Don't believe that, well then it only rains under your cloud.

Where the disconnect is, is that you think that people are not allowed to be against this war, against this administration, and still be for the troops. When you come here and tell us what the troops are asking for in the form of care packages, it ticks me off even more with this administration for putting them in this situation, but you have reminded me that they are with needs and wishes and for their sacrifice we all should give to them.

In discussing this, our conversation can not be limited to care packages. Let me applaud you in all sincerity for being proactive and on top of sending the packages you have put together. I know you will make someone in Iraq's day brighter, a big hats off to you! I just happen to think they shouldn't be in this predicament anyway and on that we may never see eye to eye and that's fine.

I get amazed every time I come on this board and read "strong Christians" who consistently pas
(Didn't Jesus have something very wise and definite to say about that?), insult and degrade "heathens" if their spiritual beliefs are not EXACTLY those of the mainstream right, even though they supposedly love this country which was founded on religious freedom and tolerance for ALL; cast stones every which way (Jesus also had a lot of good stuff to say about that)....yeah, they can proclaim to know it all if they do it under the "true Christian" banner. Here is a question. If you died this second and had to defend some of these insulting inflammatory statement on this board, other than the fact of saying to Him "I was being a Christian," do you think Jesus would take that as an excuse, or would he shake his head in sadness that you really didn't get "all of the story" of the New Testament, where love, tolerance, mercy, forgiveness, and HUMILITY wer preached to all???????
Great post, great insight, great analysis, thanks!..nm

What part of 60-plus days of his first 100 days...sm
don't you understand. I think it's obvious to anyone actually researching his movements what his main goals are - and I don't in my wildest dreams see how in the world he can keep spending as he has been and wants to continue doing and cut the deficit in half by end of his term. IMO his chances are running out quickly. God help us all!
I agree neither choice is great, but will vote McCain just as a vote against Obama. nm

Great, great post. Thank you, Marmann! nm

That's not the whole quote.

Quote of the Day

The only difference between the Democrats and the Republicans is that the Democrats allow the poor to be corrupt, too. ~Oscar Levant

Quote of the Day

A vote is like a rifle: its usefulness depends upon the character of the user. ~ Theodore Roosevelt

Quote of the Day

If the person you are trying to diagnose politically is some sort of intellectual, the chances are two to one he is a Democrat. ~Vance Packard

Quote of the Day

If you can't convince them, confuse them. ~ Harry S. Truman

Quote of the Day
Politics is supposed to be the second-oldest profession.  I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first.  ~Ronald Reagan

Quote of the Day

Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear. ~ Harry S. Truman

Quote of the Day

If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich. ~ John F. Kennedy

Exactly where did you get this quote from me?
Tally, add 1 nasty for the republicans.
Your Quote from Joe

"The media's worried about whether I've paid my taxes, they're worried about any number of silly things that have nothing to do with America," Wurzelbacher told the former Republican presidential hopeful on his show, "Huckabee."

And your quote:"This is what is so funny.  In Joe's eyes "taxes" are silly things."

If you notice, he did not say taxes were silly things. He said they're worried about any number of silly things. He didn't specifically say taxes are silly things.

This whole election is out of hand. The media is whipping everyone into a frenzy over a bunch of stupid crap that has no place in the election.  I have never seen such garbage spewing from everyone, every newspaper, and you-name-it.

People have to be level-headed and think and decide for themselves and stop the name-calling just because others don't agree!!!!!

I would also like to add this quote.

I posted this below but will post it again.

"Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have ... The course of history shows that as a government grows, liberty decreases." -- Thomas Jefferson

there was a lot more to that quote
"my muslim faith" If you listen to it in context, he is not saying he is a muslim, he is refering to people talking about his muslim faith, which he doesn't have.
quote
"Our democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who

are willing to work and give to those who would not."

Thomas Jefferson

quote

"Love your neighbor as yourself and your country more than yourself."

—Thomas Jefferson, letter to Thomas Jefferson Smith, February 21, 1825

If you are going to quote me............ sm
please at least do it in context.  "Obama is flying on the premise that he is innocent until proven guilty and the hope that his puppeteers have enough money to keep his guilt from being discovered, which they very well may have."

Our Constitution does provide for presumed innocence until gult is actually proven.  That much I agree with.  HOWEVER, what I was saying here in the context of my message is that Obama is betting that he has enough financial backing that will grease the palms of those who are in charge of the decision-making process, as they have done in the past to get him to this level, that he will not be found guilty.  Money runs politics, Marmann, and I think you would agree with me on that.  You don't see very many poor people in national politics.

Once this issue is laid to rest by the SC, then I will let it go.  I may not like their decision, but I will let it go because, as the highest court in the land, their word is law and we must abide by it.  It would not be the first time that I would disagree with their judgment and probably not the last, but as an American I have, at least for the time being, the right to disagree with them.

As to what other issues may arise that I would voice disagreement with and "pound him into the ground" on, that remains to be seen.  I am watching several issues right now very closely, and if his decision on said issues disagrees with mine, then you can bet I will be on here screaming.  If he proves me wrong about him and brings this country back from the brink of total destruction, then I will cook up a pot of crow for me and anyone else who wants to join me.  If we don't have enough crow to go around, I have quite a few old hats around here that could supplement the meal.
Quote of the Day.....

The late Dr. Adrian Rogers (1931-2005) offered the following observation several years ago and it bears poignant significance today:

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the rich out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply the wealth by dividing it. "

after two days

of contemplation, I offer my opinion regarding the repub veep.  It is all just so much manufactured hype.  Unfortunately, repubs have had nothing to get excited about and had to watch on the sidelines as a hope and delight swept through the nation.  The repubs did kind of a bizarro world imitation of the real movement and forced McCain to pick a person he had met twice to create headlines.  Unfortunately, the hoopla is based on nothing.  It will die down soon and the Obama train will keep on rolling. The Jewish people will certainly not vote for a person who supported Pat Buchanan the rabid anti-semite.  Our older veterans will not take the chance of having a person in power who has not thought about foreign policy because she was too busy suing Bush to get the polar bears taken off the endangered list.   Mark my words, in 2 weeks the repubs will be chasing some pre-school friend of Obama in order to create another sensation.

Does anybody else, have days that you just wish...sm
could turn on the TV or the computer, and not hear something political....from either side....for just one day?

I think most people have made up their minds, or are close to it. But we get pounded every single day, by the candidates themselves, analyses of the candidates, ads that are misleading (by both parties, I believe, at times)....smear tactics...he said, she said.....I think that they meant..... etc......well, you all get my drift.

I'm to the point that I really only want to watch the debates, to see how they hold up there.

Anyways, I'm super busy this week, and anytime I even venture into where the TV is, my husband is watching financial shows on in the background, and gosh darn it, even all they do is interject political views.

Is it almost November yet???
