Fact is that people who tell this lie are, well...

The fact that there are people like you who actually . . .
believe this garbage make me puking sick!!  GET A LIFE!
LOL, and you call people vile.

I am not one of what you call "you people."
I didn't state any number or any guesstimate of how many people attended tea parties. I can speak for my town, which is a small town, and there were about 300 people at our court house yesterday.

Final counts aren't in from some of the larger cities, but even that won't be a fair representation of the numbers because of small towns like mine that might not be added in the mix - those numbers do add up.

All I was wondering from you is why you chose to quote a Canadian article - you answered that it was because it would be an unbiased source. However, it would be a biased source because they would really have no first-hand knowledge of how many parties there were, where they were, how many people attened, etc.

Personally, I attended not because I'm a conservative or republican or anything like that. And it wasn't a front for some big corporation so the rich could keep their taxes low (and I'm far from being rich!) I attended because I don't think Congress is doing a very good job spending my money. When people like Chuck Schumer stand up there and say things like the American people don't care about the pork, that's when I get upset. And for them to get all up in arms about the AIG bonuses, only to find out it was all right there in black and white in the stimulus package, but none of them even bothered to read it, that's when I get upset! If you and I did something like that in our jobs, we'd be fired on the spot!

This sort of thing should have happened years ago because the spending in DC has been out of control, even when the republicans were in charge (that's when I started voting democrat for a while.)It just makes my blood boil to hear the republicans in DC spout off about all the spending the democrats are doing - why weren't they doing anything about it 8 or 10 years ago? But it makes me madder still to hear them all (republicans and democrats) DEFEND spending all this money now and then leaving our children to have to pay for it later.

I just don't think it's right for the government to think that it can live by one set of rules while the rest of us have to live by another.

Okay, enough of a book, just needed to get that off my chest.

Why would you call people who just want a nice clean commentary on a board...sm
a bunch of bullies? I'm amazed at you. How are we the losers when someone else calls us names all night long and we only ask for common civility?

Your logic seems backward. It was a bully of one, directed at us.

And if you really want to talk about a bully pack, look to yourselves. The dems pile on sam to no end some days, nasty nasty stuff, when it's just her on. Why is it okay for you to do it to her with meanness, and we only ask for civility and common courtesy, and yet we're the bad guys?

We're all Americans here. Why do you continue to divide us? We're more alike than you care to admit, in a lot of ways.

But the big one that separates us, from the media, down to the people on blogs, is that liberal dems are mean and downright nasty to republicans. If we don't agree with your point of view, on almost any subject, you treat us as less than nothing. I just don't understand it.

I was trying to be helpful last night, and point out that she really should try to get along. But she didn't want to. Sally actually has some good posts occasionally, hidden in between her icky ones. I look for them sometimes, and feel she should be here, as is anyone's right. But no one should have to be subjected to vulgarity.

That's the big difference too. Dems don't want to get along with anyone, most often. You only get along with yourselves.

Very, very sad.
It amazes me that many of you
scoffed at Palin's 80% approval rating in Alaska and yet you throw up Obama's 67% approval rating when he hasn't even done anything yet.  All I've seen from Obama is the same old crap that we've been seeing.  I see no change.
What amazes me is that
this country can fund that much money for campaigns but they don't hold fundraisers and make millions of dollars and just put it towards the deficit.  No....they spend all this money in their campaign telling us what they will do in office and then they do nothing but make a butt load more money and spend it.  Add Obama and McCains campaign money and just put it towards our deficit.  Granted, it won't take care of the whole thing but that would be a nice little chunk.  Too bad politicians are only out to line their pockets with money, getting elected, and sticking it to the rest of us.
Know what amazes me?

is all the time saying I will do this and I promise you this and I blah blah blah and the other candidate says he will propose or work towards, etc....

Tends to make me think one is a liar; wonder who it could be????

One says he "will look to bring greater competition to our drug markets through safe re-importation of drugs and faster introduction of generic drugs."

The other says he "will pay for his $50 - $65 billion health care reform effort by rolling back the Bush tax cuts for Americans earning more than $250,000 per year and retaining the estate tax at its 2009 level."

It amazes me that you...(sm)
would judge people simply because of where they were born.  I'm assuming that was your point by saying she was born in IRAN (all caps).  I think that's called racisim.  The US is a melting pot.  That means we have citizens from all over the world.  That's called diversity.  Oh, and by the way, where were your great-grandparents from?  Scotland? Ireland? Great Britian? Africa? The middle east?  I don't think anyone in this country has the right to be judgemental of ANYONE based on origin or race.  Get over it!
This amazes me.
Bristol is an adult who had sex and got pregnant.  She made the decision to have sex.  She was old enough to obtain birth control pills and Sarah Palin is not against the use of the pill.  Not everyone who gets pregnant as a teen instantly wants to get rid of their baby by abortion.  Sounds to me like Bristol made a mistake in not protecting herself enough for sexual activity, but she took the challenge of keeping her baby.  She has the family support that young unwed mothers need.  This isn't the ideal situation, but it happens.  My best friend in high school got pregnant at 17.  She used condoms but obviously one did not work.  When her parents found out they wanted her to abort the baby.  My friend refused.  She said she could not do that and she had her son while we were in high school.  Once her baby arrived, her parents....live most grandparents.....fell in love with their grandson and through their support.....my friend was able to finish high school, attend college and graduate from college, and now has a job as a nurse.  She is now married with a total of 4 sons.
It just amazes me that you really

think that these countries that don't like us will think highly of us after we release those photos.  Even if we go after the people involved in the "torturing," that won't change the way other countries look at us.  All it will do is give more fuel for extremist groups to recruit more people to fight against us and it will put our troops in danger.  It seems to me like some of you are so into going after the past administration that you are willing to put our troops....who are currently fighting for your freedom.....in more danger.  Nice way to repay them, huh?

When we win the war (which is another way of saying that we were successful), then we can go back and see whether or not it is worth going through this stuff and handing out punishment.  Right now...it seems to me that this is just liberals wanting Bush and Cheney put before a firing squad and the dems who knew about what was going on are lying through their teeth and saying they knew nothing which is complete and utter BS.

This is unnecessary drama and turmoil during this already stressful time period in our country.  We are calling the CIA liars and are ruining our intelligence that helps defend ourselves against terrorists.  We are virtually making it impossible for people in authority to take any action for fear of being charged of something later.

Not only will this help terrorists recruit more people but it will also show them that they can literally blow us up and if they are caught....no big deal......they will be treated quite nicely and they don't have to fear anything so no need to spill information to us because we will eventually let them go free and clear.  Now...if we are captured by them.....they will behead you and not even bat an eyelash about it.

Right now I'm more concerned about the safety of our country and that of our troops who are fighting for us while we stay home and b!tch about whether or not they should be there in the first place and whether or not pictures should be released that will put them in danger.  As far as I'm concerned.....nothing is worth putting our troops in greater danger.

For once I actually have to give Obama credit for standing up and saying no to the release of those photos.  I just hope he doesn't flip flop again like he has on so many other issues.

That still amazes me really.

OJ was so guilty it wasn't funny.  Too bad there was too much tampering of evidence that they couldn't use it in court.  Pathetic.

It still amazes me that

people continue to give him free passes for the obvious lies that he tells.  He doesn't even try to hide the lies.  They are blatant and out for all to see and yet so many still refuse to see anything but how wonderful he is.  The man is bankrupting us and all he wants to do is continue to spend spend spend.  Bush may have started it but Obama is definitely finishing it!!!  Wake up people!

LOL! You beat me to it!

I was going to post that on this board so that those who were interested would watch it.

I'm not only going to watch it, I've got my VCR set to record it, as well.  I believe it will be very interesting and revealing.

Don't beat yourself up too much GP sm
I remember your prediction that McCain would win. I had serious doubts at that time because of the way Obama "won" the nomination over Hillary. It just seemed too easy, like it was all orchestrated. Then the election night...same thing. I really think McCain conceded too prematurely, not that he would have won had he not conceded but that it seemed a little early in the evening.

I believe there has been a long sequence of events dating back who knows how far that have led up to Obama's soon-to-be presidency. I also don't believe that he is the vehicle of change that 52% of this country thinks he is but rather a puppet on a string. I believe and have believed since he won the election that he is a pawn in a larger game, one that the American people have no idea how big or how sinister it really is. Anytime a politician rockets from obscurity into the limelight as fast as Obama did, you can bet your bottom dollar that there is someone or something behind him that caused that. I have long said that there is more going on in DC than meets the eye...or is even imagined in the mind...of the American people. It goes further than "what happens in DC stays in DC."
What amazes me is you are proud of this behavior.
Which is another huge reason not to put one of you in the white house.
There are dead beat

dads all over, white, black, hispanic, etc.  Honestly, there are a lot of dead beat moms out there too.

One thing I don't get and maybe I don't get cause I'm white.....but Jesse Jackson made a comment about Obama not doing anything about blacks in prison.  What the heck is Obama supposed to do?  I mean....you do the crime.....you do the time.  So what is it that Obama is supopsed to do here.....or anyone for that matter?

As much as that "our God should beat their god(s)"
Plenty of pastor shame to go around. Why do you suppose McCain has put Rev. Wright on his "off limits" list?
This was fun, you guys beat me, I got a
67%, but it was fun, Thanks!
Probably because we beat the streets

The fact that an article was written does not make it fact. I hope you know that. nm
.
You have outlined a perfect example why we were beat in November. sm
People are tired of the dirty fighting.  If you want to fight, don't act like a bunch of 3 year olds on a chat board.  Namecalling and wishing people ill is not going to win you anything but disdain.  I certainly don't want you representing me on the left.  Do you know what they are talking about on the conservative board?  Current affairs and dying war heroes.  In other words, SUBSTANTIAL stuff.  How about trying that here for a change instead of the totally ridiculous Google searches.  My God.
What? The Bible has beat out Ann Coulter for top book sales?

How could that be?

Poster is very correct. Obama did NOT beat Clinton
And NOW, this big fiasco with the global banking system, concidentally just a month before this orchestrated election?

I've always wondered why everything got so hush hush when it was obvious Hillary Clinton had won the nomination but was suddenly pushed to the side and here's this man who has extremely concerning ties with people you would tell your own relative to stay away from.

And the millions of dollars he gets from unknown sources OUTSIDE this country.

I'm just glad McCain hasn't stooped to betraying his country like Obama. Something is very stinky in Denmark!!!
Oh, I can beat that. A picture of liberal tolerance and love for the troops. SM

Yes, by comparison...sm
There is a whole world of news media beyond Fox, CNN, MSNBC and network news outlets (listed in descending order of conservative tendencies, but conservative just the same).  These are not what you would consider liberal wacko sources, which also offer interesting perspectives and legitimate information (it’s called the other side of the issues).  Even other conservative newspaper, journal and broadcast news media sources beyond the narrow scope of America’s corporate “prime” conglomerate sources would be way too liberal for some, but they do give much more of a balanced, less spun picture.  The highly regarded BBC comes to mind, just to mention one of thousands, though they have a decidedly western bias and can be counted among the sources that fail to report many issues.  Fair and balanced sources abound.  They just cannot be easily found on US TV stations.  Why that is the case is another whole story.
No comparison..........
Ann Coulter is a tranny - at least Dowd is funny!
No comparison

What in tarhooties have you been smokin'...no comparison?? The Iran Contra mess was horrible, and to this day it galls me to see people like John McCain and Oliver North (who should have been court-martialed and imprisoned)  strutting around acting as if their stuff does not stink.

no comparison
Stealing a toy in first grade in no way compares with terrorist acts for which you show no remorse.
There is a comparison

With McCain we aren't talking about any old skin cancer, we're talking melanoma, recurrent at that.  A smoking history with the possibility of cancer really doesn't compare to that.

That combined with his age and complications thereof do present a very real possibility of Sarah Palin being president in the near future.  With that in mind, yes, I am concerned about Palin's medical records.  Really, with her it's more of a credibility issue.  I'm not saying that last baby isn't hers, but considering the rather odd circumstances surrounding the birth of that child, it does raise a lot of questions that she obviously is not willing to answer.

are you actually making this comparison
Obama to JFK? No way. 'nuff said.
There is NO comparison to this and Obama
nm
A comparison has been drawn.... sm
between the way Obama stood on issues versus the way Hitler stood on issues and what the outcome was of Hitler's regime in Germany. What is wrong in drawing conclusions based on what history has borne out?

I am not saying that Bush and Palin are without spot. They are politicians, first and foremost, just as Obama is. If they are fodder for the liberal press to shred, then why is Obama exempt from criticism?

And 4% of the popular vote is not exactly what I would call an overwelming majority, especially in light of the discussion Marmann and I had below on this board about how informed the voters were in this election.
Your comparison, not mine.
Can't blame him at all for trying to grab a couple of gasps of fresh air after being immersed in the cesspool with the tax cuts for the rich or else monolith.
That was not a good comparison
That was the best you could do and you are claiming someone else has a lack of understanding and education.  When you use bad taste, you lose credibility.  I think this thread has lost its credibility at this point.
Can't help making the comparison
I'm not saying he's Abe Lincoln or Socrates either.  I'm just saying I can finally stand to listen to presidental speeches again without cringing.  And I think you're desperately seeking something to gripe about, if you need to gripe about this guy's speaking ability and didn't find any problems with the prior guy's speeches.
No it isn't!!! That is absolutely NOT a comparison! Get real! nm

LOVED the tick comparison!
sucking every last drop of blood out of us little guys who are little more to them than just cogs in the wheel.
They are minimal in comparison to what faces us...
as I have said, I wish EITHER of the candidates had done this SOONER. Frankly, I tired of hearing what they would do. I want them to actually DO something. Prove to me you can handle the situation NOW. Don't get up and for the love of pete just TALK about it. At least one of them finally decided that the financial well being of this country was more important than campaigning. If Obama had been the first, I would be saying HE did the right thing and I would NOT be saying he was ducking a debate. I think we know they can both debate, we heard them during their primaries. What I want to see them do is help FIX THIS financial fiasco and make sure it gets done properly. I think that is the most important thing here, and I don't understand why you minimize THAT.
No comparison. Ann Coulter is not the president.
nm
This is from the beginning an idiotic comparison
how to behave toward a husband who is going to kill his wife.

Who, for heaven's sake, comes up with such weird comparisons, when we are talking about prisoners in Gitmo?

Can you people not stay on one issue without losing the focus?
