I personally know only one person that makes over 75k

But I guess I don't run with the big dogs.  All my family and friends make WAY under 75k - if they have jobs at ALL right now - and most don't!

What makes you think that I personally don't?

pub or dem, who benefited from this should be the ones financially responsible to repair it.  But that isn't going to happen and I'm sick of hearing about who's responsible for it.  What about the homeowners who applied for these mortgages that they knew they couldn't afford?  I hold them responsible.  What about the banks who gave them the loan, knowing they could never repay it, but didn't care because they were just going to sell it?  I hold them responsible.  What about the CEOs who made millions on their severenace packages when they walked away from these failing companies?  I hold them responsible.  I don't care what party they are affiliated with.  But the fact is, no one person is going to be held accountable.  As a whole, the taxpayers will be made to be responsible.

You talk a good game and some of what you say makes sense.  Unfortunately, you have to read through all the pub/dem cr@p to really get to what you're saying.  Are you going to try to tell me that not 1 single pub had anything to do with any of this?  That it all rests on the individual dems?  Come on -- that's a load of bull and you know it.

Say what?? I am talking about a specific person whom I personally think...sm
is over-the-top, an embarrasmment to the President in many ways because of her ultra-liberal stance, but I am not "bashing" any Democrats, Republicans, or anyone else in particular here except Ms. Pelosi herself, and I was trying put a teensy tiny bit of humor on the board, sorry I did not pass it by you first, and you make no sense here because I am generally Democratic, not that that has anything to do with this?????? Wow, I honestly gave you more credit for intelligence and fairness than that.
Well, that makes one person who understands...(sm)
How about you explaining *trickle-up poverty* and how it works then?  I really would like to know what (if any) logic is behind this statement.
and calling someone ignorant and venous makes you a much better person??
nm
She took it personally because she was attacked personally. Plain and simple.

Where did you get your debating skills?  On the south side of Chicago in some street gang?  Because if you did, it shows.

In a REAL debate, there is no room or tolerance for personal attacks.  Yet, that's all you people know how to do.  You can't stay on the issue.  You MUST attack the poster personally, claiming to know not only what they think and feel but also claiming to know what every liberal ever thought or did, what they're thinking and doing right now and what they will be thinking and doing for the next 1,000 years.  In fact, you seem to know everything about anything that ever existed on the planet, exists now or will exist into infinity.

As I (and others) have said repeatedly and you just can't seem to grasp, if you constantly treat people badly, they're not going to want to associate with you.  Lurker was very gracious in her posts to all of you on your board, but even she, in the end, couldn't tolerate your continued, nonstop, personal attacks any more (as she indicated in her responses to the attackers).  If you ever stop knowing it all and become interested in the proper way of debating someone, you could learn a lot from Lurker.  You see, having *thick skin* is only important if you're a thug in a gang somewhere.  It's irrelevant when it comes to treating humans like humans, and in that area, you have a lot to learn.

As for me, I like to learn from intelligent, friendly people with different political views, so I visit boards where those kinds of people are found.  Not all conservatives are angry, rude, come out swinging and need to personally attack 1,000% of the time.  Some of them are actually quite nice and informative, and they can be found on other forums.  Too bad they can't be found on MTStars.

Have a pleasant evening.

yes, the first person did....the person replying to that post...
was talking about the founding fathers...who came along a long time after the witch trials. You replied to the second post, not the first one. I was replying to you based on that. Purtianism came first...Christianity was the religion practiced by the founding fathers. It is evident in their writings and in most of our original documents.

I think we can stop whipping this dead horse now.
Whoops....A person....not I person.
.
This what I'm personally going to do

In every place I go where the pledge is recited ballgames mostly when we got to the words under God it's amplified UNDER GOD!!!  That's what I intend on doing even if it becomes illegal.  I don't care if they outlaw the word God period I'll shout it from the mountaintops.  First of all to glorify my God, and second of all to irritate those who think it's a curse word.

Go ahead sue me...hang me...chop my head off.  The best is yet to come for me anyway.

I personally think that

the McCain campaing has set Palin up to be the attacker of Obama's character and let McCain talk about what they will do if they are elected.

As for Palin lying, I do believe that Obama has not been 100% truthful with things brought out about him.  He has changed his story several times on different associations and issues and that makes me not trust him.

I do find it interesting that a lot of times what an Obama supporter can say about Palin....a McCain supporter can say about Obama.  LOL!  Kind of makes you wonder what the heck all of us are thinking really.

One thing that holds true for me in the case of Sarah Palin is that she cut spending in her state.  I truly do believe that for the sake our country....we need to cut back on the government pending and this just reinforces my trust in McCain and Palin to do just that.  Obama...on the other hand....I believe will not cut back on spending as he has endorsed more pork in his short term in senate than McCain has his entire career.....and that to me says a lot.  And that has nothing to do with him being a POW and having the scars to prove it.  LOL!

Personally, you hit on one of her best...
attributes. I like the idea of a VP who could lock and load with the Secret Service if need be. Shove those guys out of the way and take care of herself. Hooah! lol.
Well, I personally am a
right-leaning Libertarian who registered Republican last time McCain made an attempt, just so that I could vote for him in that primary.

This time around he has morphed into something so frightening that I'm voting for Obama, & I haven't voted for a Democrat in 30 years.

Well, personally s/m

I could  not care less so long as they don't mess around with the constitution.  I do think, however, that there is much ado about nothing.  As for the alleged tax breaks...when my husband and I married we asked my CPA about tax ramifications.  He said we would be better off to marry.  When we filed our first joint return, the same CPA said he didn't realize how much our income was and that in fact, marrying was the worst thing we could do tax-wise.  So if gays/lesbians want to marry for tax purposes, they had better take a good hard look at where the marriage will put them.

I don't know that there's anything legal/illegal about it but I expect that in the case of serious illness or injury a significant other would not be kept from the bedside.

My husband and I used an attorney to draw up papers (forget what they are called) that directs everything that could possibly be foreseen and the cost was something like $350.  That would work just as well for gays/lesbians I would think.

We  have a gay couple in our community, also biracial.  They moved here from another state.  Both wear wedding rings, I have no idea what it symbolizes, haven't asked.  One is rather elderly and has relatives here but they accept the significant other and everyone just goes about their business.

Gay/lesbian relations are not new, it goes all the way back to biblical times.  I don't lean in that direction myself so I do not know anything about it, whether it is a choice or people are born with that bend.  I just have a hard time with God saying that it is an abomination for a man to lie with a man as with a woman and then that He would turn around and cause people to be born with this kind of sexual orientation.  That being said, let them do what they will, it is between them and God.  Like religion and politics, they don't need to try to shove it down the throats of the majority who are heterosexual.

I personally don't know anyone......... sm
with voter's remorse right now, but I can guarandangtee you there will be a whole bunch of folks in about 6 months to a year or so who will rue the day they cast their ballot for the O.
perhaps you just don't personally know anyone
rrrrrrr
Personally
I think it's all of the above and then some.
I have never personally used that phrase myself. sm
But then, I am sure someone will expend a huge amount of energy to prove me wrong.
I personally feel

that Jesse Jackson is a detriment to the black community.  Surely there has to be someone better to represent and stand up for the black community.  If a white person made the general comments that Jesse Jackson does......the black community would scream racism.  His own son spoke negatively about his father and his comment.

I personally don't feel that there will ever be equality between the races because people are constantly wanting to point the finger at the other race.  Do I want equality....yes...of course I do.  I have many black friends who are great people that I care about.  But until we stop pointing the finger at the other race, it won't stop.  Prejudice and racism is on both sides.  It isn't just the white folks or the black people.....it is on both sides and until people stop and realize that and learn to forgive and forget and be accepting.......it won't change.

As for Bill Cosby, I loved watching the Bill Cosby Show when I was younger, but the more I learn about Bill......the more I think he is a huge bigot.

Once again, did he personally call you
to say he would quit HIS job and be at home with the kids? Oh wait, I KNOW! The oldest pregnant one can watch ALL of them! Now, There is an idea! Furthermore, yes, you ARE bashing US, by saying we have a 1950's mentality, just because we want to ACTUALLY RAISE our OWN kids, instead of a DAY orphanage! What a concept? Raise your own kids! Dr. Laura people, you all should listen to her...
I personally feel that
neither McCain nor Obama will be able to really pull us out of this horrible economic situation.  They will be able to help or make it worse, but no one president is totally going to pull us out of this horrible situation that we find ourselves in today.  I personally put the blame on everyone....dems and repubs alike.  Our president is currently republican but the congress is controlled by the dems and quite frankly I haven't seen a whole he11 of a lot out of either group to start pulling us out.  We are too busy flinging mud between parties to really focus on what our country needs and that is a shame as well as scary. I hope and pray that people in Washington will get their heads out of their butts and consider the future of our country instead of how much money they can line their pockets with and that goes for both dems and repubs.
I personally feel that this

failure in our government is a failure on both sides.  This isn't strictly dems, although dems control the congress, and this isn't strictly reps even though the pres is a rep.  I think they should all stop pointing fingers as what is done is done and find a solution that will benefit the tax payers and not line the crooks' pockets with money anymore than they already are.

As for McCain....no matter what....at least he had the balls to say....HEY...we have a problem here.  That is more than other politicians have done who benefited from FMFM money.

Of course, I personally don't have a problem with
any of it. I don't look to the debates to help make up my mind, they are for entertainment value to me. I simply was putting out there what I had read. I too agree, the VP debate is going to be the one everyone wants to see.
I personally believe that they are both good men...sm
We are lucky to have two such good men to vote for. That being said, you need to do your own research at reliable places, keep an open mind, and take nothing at face value. In the end, we all vote with, hopefully, our brains/hearts/instincts. The issues are what really matter. Who honestly represents your values and who is going to help the ordinary person, the middle class, the poor, the rich, whatever is your agenda.
And I respect yours. Personally,
if I had to be in a foxhole with someone, it would be McCain no question.  I have a feeling that Obama would look out for himself.
Personally, I think she meant (Lou
.
i personally don't care much for either of them

Madeline Halfbright was Clinton's Sec. of State.  Don't even get me started on her.

No matter what, I give nobody a free pass just by the R behind his/her name.  Look at Olympia Snow & Susan Collins!  Talk about embarrassments!

I personally think that we should drop

everything except for American.  We need to unite and come together and we need to drop the extra titles.  That doesn't mean we should forget where we come from or our heritage.  It just means that when we lose focus on us all being Americans and just Americans....we start to categorize and stereotype and segregate ourselves.

Besides, I really don't want to be call an Indian-German-Scottish-Hungarian-American.  I'm an American and I'm proud of that.

I personally think Palin has now
Joe Biden has been in politics for a very long time.  Palin and McCain in no way answer any question directly.  Palin took a shot at the media through an interview with Brian Williams.  When asked to state the examples of the bashing she feels are wrong, she only gave one, and then didn't want to talk about it anymore.  I have to say that even though you feel Joe or Obama faced with a real problem are under the gate and squealing, you'd better look at the examples of McCain and Palin interviews first.  Pretty much all I hear out of McCain's mouth is "I'm sorry."  JMO, of course.
To Gourdpainter: I want to personally s/m

thank you for your many insightful posts on this board during this whole election process.  Your posts along with sam's posts have very accurately paralleled the glaring differences between these two candidates, yours being ones of depth of knowledge, integrity, tolerance and a true desire for change for the better, whereas, the other one's posts have been largely based on garbage gleaned from questionable websites, blogs and other biased sources that have accomplished nothing other than to incite hatred and intolerance in support of a candidate who has based his whole campaign on filthy lies and evil smear tactics in pathetic attempts to discredit his opponent who has risen above this display of low-down politics.

So, my hat's off to you, Gourdpainter, for setting an exemplary example for all of us to aspire to!!

Personally, I tried 6 times and still

can't get away from them. Even this tax probably won't help. You name it, I've tried it except Chantix (sp) but I need a doctor to prescribe it and I don't have a doctor yet.

My mom smoked until she was 79. Died 4 months later. DH doesn't care if I don't quit after that because his mother died 6 months after she quit. Doesn't make sense, but it did happen.

I personally feel that this is

the natural cycle of our planet.

It still amazes me how AL Gore can go from place to place on a his private jet telling others we should be concerned about global warming.

How does this affect me personally?

AIG is losing more and more money every day...  we all know that.  My story is that my BF is on Worker's Comp for an injury.  He will never be back to what he was, but is as good as he is going to get until he can have a knee replacement, which they will not because of his young age.  So we are thinking it is time to settle with the insurance company - who is backed by AIG...

They are already offering us a lot less than what we expected because they say they don't have money to give, but what happens if we hold out and then the company goes belly up?  Do we just lose out completely then?

Can WC go belly up?  I mean, is it backed by the government since it is mandated by the government and he will keep getting his benefits if he does not settle or are we looking at maybe losing even his weekly check and medical benefits and so we need to take what we can get while we can?

I personally don't find either
of them particularly attractive but I would say Michelle is more attractive.
I personally don't agree with this.

I think gay marriage is wrong.  I would not mind a civil union so much but to me....marriage is a sacred thing between a man and woman.  It is bad enough that marriage between some men and women isn't taken as seriously as it used to be and that alone saddens me.

I truthfully am sick and tired of having homosexuality shoved down my throat everyday.  These protests that are more riot like than actual protests, gay people knocking a cross out of an older woman's hand while she was civilly showing her point of view and was attacked for it.  The public displays in church of kissing and dancing around.  The spray painting of buildings and churches.  It is just ridiculous.  Acting like immature and childish brats does not warrant you the right to get married.  I think I might have more compassion for them if they did not act like they have since voters voted against gay marriage in California.

I have some gay friends who are even ashamed by the stupidity of other gay people who act in such a manner.

This is just something that I will never condone nor be happy with.  I do not hate homosexuals nor am I a homophobe.......this is just a lifestyle that I cannot approve of.  We are all entitled to our opinions on this subject....so please no bashing of me just because I was honest about my view points.  Whether or not you agree with me....fine.  We will just have to agree to disagree.

Personally....I'm tried of hearing it from
both sides.  I'm tired of the name calling from both sides.  This debate is getting nowhere and yet some of you people just cannot let it go and just agree to disagree.  There will never be a middle ground found on this discussion.  So let's just drop it and stop all the vicious attacks.
I personally feel that

Specter has been there for too long anyway.  The man has been there since 1980.  Time for some new blood.

I agree with you and what you said about the crats.  I personally feel that libs on here give the crats too much credit just like the pubs on here give them too much credit.  If either side really gave a rip about the American people, neither party would have voted for all this spending under Bush and Obama.

As for the pubs, yes they keep saying no but it is because their constituents are saying no or did you not pay attention to the tea parties and the fact that thousands of people showed up to tell government to stop spending our money.  The pubs are trying to rebound by doing what their constituents want even though they didn't mind spending under Bush.

Both parties are full of double standards, temper tantrums, and whining.  When the pubs are in control...the crats do nothing but whine and stomp their feet and vice versa.  You can always tell when people on here are for one particular party because the thing they complain about is something their own party does but they never admit it.  Wise up, people!!!

How many politicians are out there that you truly believe care about you and me?  All I see is a bunch of people bickering over party lines and making promises to get elected and then spending their whole term trying to pay back the people who donated to their campaign to get them elected by being their puppet.  That is what Washington has become and for those of you who refuse to see that both parties are involved....well....that is just sad.

I personally feel that

neither those memos nor those pictures should be released.  Look at the turmoil it has caused since the memos alone were released.  You got half of the story without all the information being released.  You have Pelosi lying through her teeth trying to save her own skin while pointing the blame at the CIA and Bush's administration while claiming she knew nothing.  It is just unnecessary turmoil right now especially since we still have troops in Iraq, Afghan....and God only knows when we will have to go to Pakistan to get the nukes away from the terrorists.  This just isn't the time to be going after our own people.  Fighting amongst ourselves only makes the true enemy stronger.

I personally feel that those pictures will put our troops in more danger than they already are.  It will give extremist groups more ammo to recruit more people to their cause.

And no matter what you feel about waterboarding....be it torture or extreme interrogation......terrorists do much worse to the people they capture.

Our objective right now is to win the war and keep America safe.

So JBB, you know these people personally?
--
I personally do not feel that

he got second place just because he is gay.  If the voters were so anti-gay....he wouldn't have made it that far in the first place.  I think it is unfair to suggest that he lost because he is gay....just like I think it is unfair for someone to not enjoy his music merely because of his sexual preference.

I personally feel that you need to do

some more research on what government controlled healthcare would do to privately owned insurance companies.  You need to look at the whole picture and not just the BS the democratic party dishes out to you that you so willingly take and believe without batting an eyelash.  Insurance companies will go under, more people will lose jobs.  If everyone has healthcare, more people will go to the doctor for sniffles and colds.  It will make the healthcare costs go up and Obama wants healthcare costs to go down.  The only way to do that is to limit the care that people can have.  Government will also have to cap what doctors and nurses can make and therefore we will have fewer and fewer people entering the medical field.  If care is limited because of costs, we might as well forget about research for new treatments because even if they have a new treatment, government healthcare won't approve of you to have it.  More people will be given death sentences instead of treatment in the attempt to cut healthcare costs.  Waiting periods will be longer because there will be more people wanting healthcare and less doctors and nurses to provide said healthcare.  You need to stop and think about this.  You are so blind on this subject it really is baffling.  Someone who preaches about research and so far all you have given on this subject is the same rhetoric Obama spews out which is nothing but total BS!

Our country is broke.  China pretty much owns us.  More and more people are losing jobs.  In my state the unemployment went up into the double digits again.  We cannot afford this healthcare plan and even if we could....it is a horrible idea and definitely something that shouldn't be rushed to pass because once we do this....you can't take it back.

And another thing....the only way to pay for this is to tax us more and yet Obama promised not to raise any kind of taxes of 95% of American people.  Why are you letting him get by with that.  If a pub had made that sort of promise and renigged on it....like Bush Senior did........you all would be on him like flies on stink.  Why the double standards here?

Personally, I am debating nicely
both boards have been slow and peaceful for the most part. Debate is not fighting. It's only when someone gets offended and starts preaching down to the other debaters does it get personal.

I just disagree with you on one point and that's abortion. I believe all children born and unborn are equal. I don't expect you to see it my way, but I will defend and state my position not to incite an insult fest but to foster debate :)
I personally don't hate Republicans.

I just haven't seen any in power in the White House in the last 6 years.  What I've seen are deficit-loving, conquer-the-world, neocnos who insist on controlling which God I worship, who I love, when I'm born and when and how I die, and I've seen respect for the truth be hacked to death by Bush.  Do you know it may soon be a crime for a reporter to discover and then inform Americans that Bush has broken the law?

Did you know that Missouri recently introduced legislation that would make Christianity their *official* religion, denying protection to any other religion?  With the current Supreme Court in place, the two new idiots appointed just might decide that although the Constitution says that Congress has no right to impose religion on others, maybe states do!

Did you know that we're only one LIFETIME Bush Supreme Court justice appointment away from Oregon's Right to Die law being overturned because a Bush appointment will have been programmed to obey Bush and ignore the voters of the state who voted for it?  (Both Alito and Roberts voted against the law.)  This doesn't sound like a party that respects States' rights very much.  And I won't live to see these rights restored in my lifetime because I will die before these Supreme Court justices do.  Particularly with a newly-diagnosed serious, chronic illness that will eventually cause an essential organ to destroy itself and no affordable health insurance, I will be one of the millions of disposable Americans who is just hung out to dry and die.

And did you know that in this *booming economy* there were increases in home foreclosures in every single quarter of 2005?  Almost 847,000 homes were foreclosed.  I doubt these were *deadbeats* but rather they were probably people who used to be in the middle class who suddenly found themselves hovering near the poverty level.

And forget about the abortion issue.  What will happen when the red states outlaw contraception because it is against the religious views of a few?

People fear a civil war in Iraq.  Maybe we should look at our own country and recognize the brink of the civil war WE are on.

I believe that Democrats have tried to pass legislation.  I know Charles Shumer tried to pass a bill trying to fix the deplorable 5% of shipments that enter our ports daily.  The Republicans, who hold the majority vote, wanted nothing to do with that.

Since Bush came into office, fines for unsafe mines have been REDUCED to mine owners.  We've lost a couple dozen Americans due to unsafe mines; maybe that wouldn't have happened if Bush hadn't decided to reduce the fines involved in not obeying regulations.  I wonder if he's removed the right of these families to sue over these deaths, since he's made public his distaste for lawsuits.

While he loves to tout a booming economy, Incomes have actually gone DOWN since he's been President.  More and more people are working longer hours at multiple jobs for the same or less money.  Ask any MT on this board who's been affected by outsourcing.  I know it has personally affected me.

I could go on and on about oil prices, the New Orleans fiasco (turns out Brownie actually DID do a heck uva job but was hung out to dry by Bush).

Unless the Democrats take back the House and the Senate in 2006, there's little chance that anything Bush broke can be fixed, even though most Republicans are wisely trying to distance themselves from this President.

I don't know WHO these impostors are who are in the White House, but I thought REPUBLICANS were supposed to be for less government interference in personal lives and a LESS government spending.

Bush and his followers truly are not Republicans, and I'm seriously considering moving to Canada, where the freedom that Bush wants to impose on every other country IN THE WORLD (by force, if necessary, whether they want it or not) but detesting that same freedom in the United States, can be found.

No, I don't hate Republicans at all.  In fact, I'd be appreciative and relieved to actually SEE one in the White House for a change.

I'm not tied to a particular party, and I don't vote blindly based on party affiliation.  If Giuliani runs and has the numbers that could get him elected, I just might vote for him, Republican or not.  If he wins, he will have a huge job trying to restore all the rights that have been taken away by the time he assumes office.

At this point, unless I see a viable Democrat with a backbone and some common sense, I won't be voting for a Democrat.  Hillary has no backbone, and though I thought I might vote for her previously, she is no longer an option for me because I no longer trust her.

It seems the *righter* the Republican party goes, the *lefter* the Democratic party goes, so much so that I've got to remember to stand up straight because I can't differentiate one leaning from another any more.

Personally I love this country
I believe it is one of the very best places to live on earth.  People want to come here because of the opportunity to improve their lives, partly due to the sheer size of this country.  However, I am not able to pretend the U.S. doesn't have its share of problems also and it is always a work in progress toward becoming a better nation.  I feel it is up to its citizenry to provide the checks and balances needed to keep it on right track.
Yes, exactly! And, the President has visited personally...
with hundreds of families who have lost loved ones in Iraq. Fox televises those things frequently. Whenever the President goes to speak at a base or near a base he always speaks with families who have lost loved ones..personal visits, which is much more meaningful to families than showing up at a funeral. And good grief...his presence at a funeral would turn into a carnival atmosphere and draw even more looney protestors, How would THAT help grieving families? It is much more caring NOT to show up. If people would watch networks who actually cover those things they would realize it was going on. CNN would rather eat dirt than report those things.
personally i have used the healthcare in Europe

and in France and England (several times in France) and I have to say that national healthcare over there works wonderfully well.....costs are minimal (though taxes are high) and all rxs in England cost the same and I was treated fabulously (married French) at American Hospital in Paris and Gap Hospital in France in 1980.....I did England in 71-72 and again, got treated well and for less than $40.  I believe national healthcare can work but the govt and medical professions here in the states don't want it - because they, the MDS, will make less.  But know this, that I saw the life of a doctor in France and his family in Michael Moore's movie SiCKO and they are living like kings, well not kings, but living VERY VERY WELL.

So, based on my own experiences in Europe - and the experiences to date of my in-laws over in France - I have to say the healthcare over there is FAR better and FAR LESS EXPENSIVE than over here but again, their taxes are somewhat higher.

Hillary screwed it up once before, I don't want to give her a second chance regarding healthcare.

Young soldiers I know personally and on TV. Many
many of them felt very differently when they first went to war.  After coming back they seem to come back with a very different view.  Most of the soldiers I know think the war needs to end.  I don't think most Americans think we should stop funding the war until the soldiers come home, and that's just it, many of us want them to come home!  I watched a documentary on Showtime called Semper Fi, and it was a really moving account of a proud Marine's time in Iraq.  I would definitely recommend watching it if you want to hear a first-hand account of how one patriotic soldier was disillusioned by the war and how he was given false information over and over again by his higher-ups.  I don't claim to know the solution, and I know none of the candidates on either side have the perfect solution either, but I just feel that we are not making the progress we should be making, kids' mothers and fathers are dying every day in Iraq, and it makes me incredibly sad.  Simple as that.  I don't think we have any right to be there.  I do believe we had a right to go to Afganistan, but not Iraq.  That's just my feeling, and I really don't feel like getting into a huge debate about the war.  I just want it to end.
I personally think it helps to an extent...
I listened to Michelle Obama's speech and I thought she was very articulate...and they are a beautiful family. I did listen to Hillary, and in my opinion, she made it all about her. She said the right things, but I don't think her heart was in it. I think there is a LOT of bitterness there still. Bill already put his foot in his mouth, no telling what he will say during his speech. What I found very strange was the camera focused on him while Hillary was speaking, and he had tears in his eyes, and he mouthed "I love you I love you I love you." It was easy to see what he was saying. Have no idea if that was for the cameras or was a really unguarded moment. Who knows? It just seemed really out of character for him. I did notice that she said she came before the crowd a proud mother, a proud Democrat and a proud United States Senator from New York...but nuttin' about being a proud wife...lol. Who can blame her??

As to Barack and Michelle being down to earth, I know that is the message she wanted to send. But when speaking to a group of middle class-type women, she kinda messed up when she told a story about Barack getting on to her for a $10,000 bill for the kids(yes, ten thousand) and she said to him, "Do you know how much camp costs?" That demonstrates that she was out of touch with the people she was talking to. $10,000 is probably a third of what they make a YEAR if they were lucky. She lives a very different life than the middle class. She may remember it from childhood, but she has left that behind her. Not that that is a bad thing...it just demonstrates that they are rich folks just like McCain. Most politicians are. It goes with the territory. All that being said, having money does not make any of them bad people.

I missed the speech of the man from Virginia, so can't comment on that one. Bill's will be interesting. You never know what is going to come out of his mouth.

I think we will find out more about the candidates after the convention, when we have official nominees, get to the debates, and if we can sort through the mud being slung from both sides, that is where most of our information will come from.

Personally don't think she is qualified but, more importantly.....
as a mother, my biggest concern would be for her children. Most former presidents children were closer to adulthood and didn't really have much of a life because of their father's political position.

I can't even imagine what life would be like for these young children. Learning at such a young age to be paranoid about everything and everyone around you because your parent may be a target for some sinister plot, which then makes the children a target.

Next issue, motherhood. Again, she has young children. Who is going to be their mother while she is consumed with political dealings? They need their mother.

If she has aspirations for a larger role in the United States government, fine but she should finish the job she started first and raise her children.

And... I personally think that the rumors about the baby are terrible. The girl is 16. So what if it was HER baby and not her mother's.

If it IS true, her parents were probably only trying to protect their daughter.
Personally, I think this campaign season
is just getting more and more exciting.  Imagine if an old man gets the Presidency, and his sidekick with absolutely no foreign policy experience ends up as President....very exciting....cannot get any more uncertain than that scenario.
Personally, your response is one of my fears too...that...
the left doesn't/can't/won't/refuses to recognize the real threats in the world. Simply amazing.

We'll keep keeping you safe, though. Just because you refute it, doesn't mean it isn't there.
First of all, did Todd personally call you
and tell you he would be at home with the kids?! Last I checked he had a "career" too! Second of all, on another post about this whole O/Palin thing, I DID say that I believe his kids are too young for him to be running, but their mom is at least with them! Yes, I do think the mother ultimately needs to be there when they are little!
Nope, would not disagree with you personally....
might disagree with Biden on his explanation if I heard it. Is it posted anywhere? Thanks.
