I don't think that alcohol and cigarettes alone

cause cirrhosis or lung cancer. My DH's aunt died of both those diseases and never smoked or drank during her life. So, how did she wind up with those diseases?

I do believe that your everyday cleaning products have too many chemicals in them and they could cause lung diseases, but no one ever did a study on those, did they? Nope, the culprits are always cigarettes and alcohol.

Don't get me wrong...the studies don't lie, but I would love to see a study on some of the chemicals in cleaning products, air fresheners, etc. Bet you'd be surprised.

I agree about the alcohol.

The only reason I can think that these people don't have harsher punishments for drunk driving is because our prisons are full and they just really can't house them for long periods of time.  It too irritates me when people with multiple offenses kill someone and hardly anything is done.....it makes me sick.  I've never personally lost anyone to alcohol but I just don't understand why punishments and enforcement isn't a lot more strict than they are.

I don't see her as being consumed by hatred.

From her posts, it's clear that she's a very compassionate, kind, intelligent person who is capable of thinking independent thoughts.  She cares about people who need help in this country.  Nobody who is consumed by hatred can do that.

She's expressed fear and concern and frustration at this administration and where it's taking us, and she expressed anger at the person who's leading us in that direction.  She's not alone.  An increasing number of Americans feel the same way.

The only person I see consumed by hatred is YOU.  You've repeatedly littered this board with your hateful posts.  It's very easy to see who the hateful people are.

I suggested below that you/all the others (assuming there really is more than one) should be ignored. You contribute nothing to this board but anger, rage, hatred and skewed thinking.

Having said that, I won't bother reading/responding to your posts any more.  It's simply not worth it because you don't want to debate.  All you want to do is attack others.

I pity you.

Consumed by hate? Me? No way.

I'm consumed by lots of other things, though.

I am consumed by fear, though, over America's future, watching Supreme Court justices chosen because of religious beliefs and worshipping Bush like a god, instead of merit and qualifications, fearful that what begins with overturning Roe might end with the Supremes outlawing living wills, stem cell research, and other privacy rights to which every American citizen is entitled.

I am consumed by anger that an American president would use fear and lies to the entire world in order to wage a war that he most likely had planned before he was even elected president.

I'm consumed by frustration that after 9/11, we don't have a leader who cares enough about the safety of Americans to secure our borders, KNOWING that it's easy access for foreign terrorists to enter this country, and actually causing two states to declare states of emergency for that reason.

I'm consumed by disappointment that our top leaders have no ethics or fondness for the truth, that two (at least) high-ranking White House officials would disclose the identity of a CIA agent working on WMD, placing many lives in danger by such disclosure -- simply because her husband told the truth about the president's lies.

I'm consumed by compassion as I witness the lower-middle class sinking even lower, closer to the poverty level by virtue of the luxury commodity that gasoline/home heating oil have become in America and worry about all the old people and children who will forget what it feels like to be safe and toasty warm in the winter, assuming they can stay healthy and survive the cold days and nights they will be forced to suffer.

I'm consumed by a sense of betrayal as I watch the promise of religious freedom in America vanish before my eyes, replaced by a theocracy catering to one religious group, rendering all other religions unequal and substandard.

Yes, I'm consumed by lots of things.  Hatred isn't one of them.  I don't hate anyone or anything.  Sadly, you and those of your ilk have cornered the market on that emotion, and I will pray for you, even if you do despise my particular God.

You are so consumed by hatred

He's just consumed with a lust

for the presidency.  If he ever was as principled as people are saying, he just threw that all away because he wants so desperately to be president.  Country first my large flaccid patootie.

If alcohol is legal, then marijuana isn't any worse
xx
Now THAT is interesting. Me, consumed by hatred....
one little poster, just little old me. And how MANY of you jumping on me like spitting snarling cats. Now you tell me...which side of that sounds more like hatred or intolerance? I am the only one so far that has posted I would defend the rights of each and every one of you to attack me. Now how is THAT consumed with hatred?
well put. Marijuana is passive, helps pain. Alcohol kills.
