Yep, MT...sounded like it to me too...(sm)
but then I have been diagnosed by the self-appointed champion of all things liberal to have no common sense. Don't get too close. You might get infectedddddddd. ;-)
It sounded to me like the $2M was just to get

Sounded like an attack to me. And in the..
grand scheme of things, why is it important to you that I admit I am something I am not??
    That sure sounded racist....

    I will though...It sounded more like a polite judgement...sm
But it doesn't matter. There really is no need to keep going on and on about it, but since we are did you get up at arms when Cheney used the...hold your breath...F-word on the floor of the Senate? And did he apologize? NOT...(this is from June 25, 2005) **Cheney, interviewed by Fox News Friday, said he had no regrets about his remarks to Leahy and I felt better after I said it. He added, A lot of my colleagues felt what I said badly needed to be said.**

I should have added at the end - sm
"Oh say it ain't so Joe" She hit it dead on when she said that statement.
I listened to the speech. It probably sounded a lot like the one Obama..
gave at the dailykos convention. She stated twice very significantly about the Alaska constitution. That is the antithesis of secession. As governor she was recognizing a recognized party in her state. I don't think there is as much antipathy between parties in Alaska as there are in the lower 48. I see no problem in recognizing them. I am not willing to assume that Obama ascribes to the ascerbic smut from dailykos just because he spoke to them. I guess that makes me somewhat more broad-minded than you?

    You mean something by "sambo?"
Heaven sakes...I didn't mean you sounded racist

I guess these people have to be added to
the list of liars that includes Pres. Bush don't we....if this was all a BIG LIE then the dems were in on it too LOL
Too bad we added that skanky red state

god was added to the pledge of allegience
in the 1950s, during the Red scare, it wasn't originally written that way.
I agree, Lu. Thanks for your post. I added one

Not fair, gourdpainter. The Democrats added a lot of...
pork on their own, and dedicating a percentage of whatever payback might come out of this directly to ACORN would have been in it too, had the Republicans not held their ground that it be removed. This plan came from Hank Paulson and Ben Bernanke, not "the Republicans." Paulson is a RINO and I have no clue what Bernanke's political affiliation is. If the ranking Democrats had held THEIR ground and all their folks with them, it would not have passed either, THEY have the majority. The Democrats pushed this harder than the Republicans...they didn't even involve the house Republicans until the last minute. So you can't lay this at the feet of "the Republicans."
I used to be a Repub, and when they added anti-abortion to
    (And I'll never go back.)
I have no clue why you added this Bush rant to my post...
George Bush did not single-handedly send troops to war. There is that little ol thing called Congress who have to vote to allow him to go to war, he can't just do it on his own. And guess what...they DID. Democrats and Republicans alike. I just don't understand why some Americans don't understand THAT. Blame it on George Bush, like he was King or something. He did not do it alone. And you are right, I will NEVER accept that ANY soldier died for no reason. How arrogant of anyone to even suggest such a thing. Our men and women in uniform go where they are sent and they do their duty. Shame on ANY American who would publically say those brave young men and women died in vain, I don't care what their politics are. To me, that reeks.

I also do not know why it is so easy for some Americans to totally ignore the many reasons we went into Iraq. Have you ever actually read the Iraq resolution passed by Congress? I seriously doubt it. Hussein was in violation of so many UN resolutions it would take a ream of paper to list them. And he did finance and harbor terrorists. One of the perps of the Achille Lauro hijacking lived out his miserable life there being given free medical care and a free ride by the Hussein government. Zarqawi had his little terrorist training camp up in Northern Iraq for a year before we went in. One of Hussein's higher ups met with Mohammed Atta a couple of months before 9-11. What do you think they were talking about? The weather?

I don't believe I even mentioned the President in my post. I believe we went into Iraq for a good reason, we had been hit and we had to hit back harder. We did so in Iraq and Afghanistan. We have not had another major attack since that happened. Wonder why that is...????

My point is, the President is not singly responsible for the war in Iraq. The Congress is just as responsible. So when you start to lay blame and malign the names of good men and women who died for something they believed in, even if you don't....you should spread the blame evenly. Get off the Hate Bush train and back into reality.
    what substance
I don't see any substance in McCain at all.
Do you have anything of substance to say?
    fu
nothing of substance to say so..
you attack the poster. Is that how we are supposed to use this board?
Substance of course being in lockstep
with you. Do you not see that as many talking points, right-wing quotes and such are seen on the conservative side as you purport are on the left. You guys talk a lot of right-wing recycled trash as you say we do left. Siiiiiiiigh.
This was an add with no substance or "facts.."
just a bunch of innuendo and although I am not voting for Obama and am concerned about the "connection," I applaud Fox for not running the ad. I have not seen it, but if Fox chose not to run it they must think there is not much truth to that particular ad. You can still research on the internet, and a bunch of papers were just released from Columbia University that might shed some light on the relationship, and Fox will cover that.

All that being said...people attack Fox all the time for being one-sided (which they are not, there are more two-sided than ANY other outlet), but choosing not to air this ad should send a message to people that while they are the most conservative network, they do hear the other side and they are fair.
Anything of substance she's reading from the
    She is very nervous obviously.
Got a whole lot more going in the substance department
his campaign jumping from one smear to the next, lurching around trying to find his trajectory, running from the issue of the economy ("is not my strong suit and if we talk about it, we'll lose), has yet to come up with a coherent campaign theme except the change slogan he highjacked fromm Obama and cannot articulate one single sentence on the subject of how he would handle his 90% self any differently than the shrub.
I agree, corrected myself in a post below. I shouldn't have added that part as a factor nm

Thats good cos dems give no substance to
the conversations here. Just attacks at those who don't agree with them. Take a look at all the postings. Its the dems going after the republicans.
Then maybe you should stick to facts, substance and issues
The liberals attack those who do not agree with them. And it's not attacks on issues or facts it's personal name calling attacks.

Very sorry for your loss but

bitterness never helps anything and always hurts the bearer.

I'll pray for your family though.  I know the Christmas much be very difficult for you this year.

I am sorry for your loss as well. sm
However, yesterday Nazrallah released a video pretty much reinforcing what was said about terrorists and the left.  It's a fact.  I also honor your son-in-law's service and sacrifice.
I am sorry, very sorry for your loss....
    but, what can I say?
Think of the people who had losses caused by the WWWI and WWII.
As far as job loss right now...(sn)

no, I don't hold Obama responsible for that.  We have been in a recession for quite some time under Bush, and that is something that Obama inherited -- along with a deficit and a budget that didn't include the cost of 2 wars.

Since you know so many small business owners who are laying off as a "direct result" of regulations Obama is putting into play, please feel free to enlighten us as to the exact nature of those regulations.  Please be specific.

I am sorry for your loss.
I don't post here much, but I will pray for you.
Very sorry for your loss Carla.

    Period.

    Just very very sorry.  Period.

Yes, but a loss for America.

    For every auto job loss

    Not really a loss, IMHO.
I believe the term for him and others like him are RINOs (Republicans in name only).

Now at least he won't have to lie about which party he belongs to.

The high point for us was last year at 14,164 in October and an 89% loss is 1,558.

It is hard for me to see where shoring up the banks is helping anybody. We are already down almost 50% from this time last year.
With the largest jobs loss since 1945, your fix would
simply be to evict and starve the unemployed out of existence? Wow. Compassionate conservativism at its finest.
No loss to our side - Specter was never truly a republican
He didn't switch sides because he is "disenchanted" with the republican party. He never voted republican to begin with. He has always been a liberal. When I heard he switched parties at first I thought he switched to be a republican. He was always left, just not as far left as most. He couldn't go too left otherwise suspicion would have been raised a long time ago. So there is no loss to the republican side since he was never really a republican to begin with. He also switched for one main reason. It has nothing to do with liberal or conservative values. It has everything to do with the fact that he does not believe he will be voted for next year as a conservative. He's done this in the past. He used to be democrat, then when he thought he would not be voted for as a democrat he switched to republican. So, he may have switched now, but don't worry, down the road if the democrats don't get voted in he will switch again for the following election.
I read plenty thanks! You can blame loss of life

Was not aware of Carla's loss, but your response was completely uncalled for
your response about dead soliders is not only wrong but completely, completely uncalled for.
Turning Obama's loss of his last living elder relative
Palin's handicapped child was being dragged out at all hours of the day and night to help gain that hockey mom family values gal political capital. No harm in pointing that out. Pregnant daughter used by the fringe camp as a convenient way to cry sexism foul and cop out on legitimate political debate on Roe vs Wade and birth control. Son and daughter are still among the living.

Obama's grandmother has been politicizd how? He credits her for instilling him with many of the values that drive him to seek office. She raised him during his moist formative years. She is DYING, for heaven's sake. Most human beings understand that grieving this kind of loss is off limits in terms of gaining political traction. This coming from the party that would shove their morality down our throats. I am so sure.

It was another poster on a different day.

I don't know who it was, but those *in the know* have pegged him/her as an alcoholic.

Whoever it was, the person was definitely radical, no doubt about that.  If you respond with your email address, I will email you and tell you what it was, as well as the alleged *profanity* that Stephen used.  Then you can judge for yourself whether it was legitimate or blown out of proportion.
