I believe he did drop everything and go

oh drop the flag pin, will you?

I personally think that we should drop

everything except for American.  We need to unite and come together and we need to drop the extra titles.  That doesn't mean we should forget where we come from or our heritage.  It just means that when we lose focus on us all being Americans and just Americans....we start to categorize and stereotype and segregate ourselves.

Besides, I really don't want to be call an Indian-German-Scottish-Hungarian-American.  I'm an American and I'm proud of that.

This spending is just a drop

in the pocket at what they will actually have to spend to buy us out of this mess.  We can't afford to spend our way out of this.  They are going to have a spend a lot more money realistically do create the jobs they are talking about.  Plus, all this money won't be going into the system right away.  To me this package is crap.

At least with major tax cuts businesses could work their way out without government controlling them.  I do not like the idea of our government controlling so much.

I bet it will drop as fast as it did

Drop the hyperbole. sm
Describing Bush as the "epitome of evil" is not intelligent discussion. It just makes you look ridiculous.

Well, if they spoke, that means I drop

THE CUSS WORDS I WANTED TO ADDRESS TO THE IDIOTS. Thank you to everyone else who had kind words. I hope no one ever has to go through what I did.
Your argument does not hold a drop of water.
Number one. No they wouldn't...journalists are like lawyers...they don't rat out their sources. It is a question of professional integrity. Furthermore, the LA Times went into great detail to describe precisely what was on the video. No cigar on that media bias whining. This is what happens when campaigns declare war on the media, keep their VP pick on a short leash, avoid one-on-one interviews like the plaque and squeal out loud when the rogue goes off script. The media would not be having a field day if there weren't such an abundant pool of news stories being generated daily by this pathetically mismanaged and misguided camp.

Since when is the International REPUBLICAN Institute, chaired by McCain, the REBPULICAN presidential candidate apolitical? Explain this to me, please. The Center for PALESTINIAN Research and Study...apolitial? On what planet is the subject of Palestine apolitical? Seriously, can you point out any Palestinian living either in OCCUPIED Palestine or in the diapora who is NOT political. If it weren't political, there would have been no exchange of funds. Not at all the same as what...a little incoherent here.

The "meeting" was a farewell dinner for Khalidi held at a Palestinian community center in Chicago for this American born, Yale graduate, Oxford University Doctor of Philosophy, former professor and director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies and the Center for International Studies at the University of Chicago, current professor at Columbia University. He is a member of the National Advisory Committee of the US INTERreligious Committee for Peace in the Middle East...a national organization of Jews, Christians and Muslims. He is also a member of the Board of Sponsors of the Palestine-Israel Journal, a publication founded by prominent Palestinian and ISRAELI journalists.

Radical Israel hater? Sam, this may come as a shock to you, but Palestinians take great pride in crossing cultures and religions for the sake of garnering peace in their war-torn country. You need help interpreting what Obama meant by "showing me my own personal bias." This is what occurs when people cross cultures, talk to one another, listen to points of view other than their own and start the process of coming to terms with the ethnocentric bias they carry around from their own cultures. I know exactly what he means. It is precisely the quality an effective foreign policy leader need to have to make effective diplomatic inroads. If you want to make something suspicious and subversive out of that....be my guest. In the absence of the tape, Sam, just how is it that you claim to know precisely what transpired during that farewell dinner?

Notably absence from you post is any direct comment on the fact that Chairman McCain's IRI funded the organization that Khalidi founded for 2 years in a row. If he is the Jew hater you suggest he is, then wouldn't that mean that once again, Chairman McCain had a vetting deficit?

Abortion Rate Continues to Drop, at Lowest Level Since 1976

Abortion: Just the Data
With High-Court Debate Brewing, New Report Shows Procedure's Numbers Down

By Naseem Sowti
Washington Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, July 19, 2005; HE01

A new analysis of the most recent abortion data shows that the number of U.S. women having the procedure is continuing its decade-long drop and stands at its lowest level since 1976.

In the year 2002, about 1.29 million women in the U.S. had abortions. In 1990, that number was 1.61 million.

The data, collected by the Alan Guttmacher Institute, a nonprofit group that collects information from abortion providers and public sources, show that for every 1,000 pregnancies that did not result in miscarriage in 2002, there were 242 abortions. This figure was 245 in 2000 and 280 in 1990. The institute's mission is to protect reproductive choice, but its reports are considered accurate across the political spectrum.

With President Bush preparing to nominate at least one new Supreme Court justice whose presence on the high court could produce new rulings on abortion, the data are already being interpreted differently by abortion rights advocates and antiabortion activists. But scientists say it is difficult to determine why the number of abortions has been dropping.

"There are so many things feeding into" the decline, said Lawrence Finer, associate director of domestic research at Guttmacher. Possible factors, he said, include changes in contraceptive technologies and use, changing ideas about family size and abortion, and reduced access to abortion services. Pregnancy clinics and abstinence programs may also have contributed to the declines, he said.

Who Gets Abortions?

Women with unintended pregnancies are those most likely to get abortions. According to the Guttmacher report, 47 percent of unintended pregnancies are aborted. Teenagers, unmarried women, black and Hispanic women, and those with low incomes are more likely than the population as a whole to have unintended pregnancies.

The report shows that non-Hispanic white women get about 40 percent of all U.S. abortions, black women 32 percent and Hispanic women, who can be of any race, 20 percent. Women of other races account for the other 8 percent. Black and Hispanic women have higher rates of abortion than non-Hispanic whites, the report states.

Other facts about U.S. abortions from the Guttmacher report:

· Six in 10 women who had abortions in 2002 were mothers. "Despite the common belief, women who have abortions and those who have children are not two separate groups," said Finer.

· A quarter of abortions occur among unmarried women who live with a male partner, putting this group at elevated risk of unintended pregnancy and abortion.

· The majority -- 56 percent -- of women who terminate their pregnancies are in their twenties. Teenagers between 15 and 19 make up 19 percent of abortions, although this percentage has dropped substantially in recent years.

This drop may be due to use of longer-acting hormonal contraceptives and lower rates of sexual activity, said Joyce Abma, a social scientist at the National Center for Health Statistics at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

She added that there has been a decline in sexual activity reported by teenage males, which could be a contributing factor to lower pregnancy and abortion rates among teens.

· The incidence of abortion spans the economic spectrum, but low-income women are overrepresented among those having the procedure. Sixty percent of women who had abortions in 2000 had incomes of less than twice the poverty level --below $28,000 per year for a family of three, for example. This is in part because "low-income women have lower access to family planning services" such as contraception and counseling provided by health departments, independent clinics or Planned Parenthood, Finer said.

· Almost 90 percent of abortions are performed in the first trimester -- during the first 12 weeks after the first day of the woman's last menstrual period -- with most performed before nine weeks. Because of newer surgical and medical techniques, the proportion of abortions performed at six weeks or earlier has almost doubled in the past decade.

Less than 1 percent of abortions are done after 24 weeks.

· The number of abortion providers declined by 11 percent between 1996 and 2000, to 1,800. In 2000, one-third of women aged 15 to 44 lived in a county that lacked an abortion provider.

About the Data

There are two main sources of national data on abortion: the Guttmacher Institute and the CDC. While both are regarded as dependable by major groups on both sides of the abortion issue, their numbers are different, and less precise than some other health statistics.

Not all states require reporting of abortions. The District, Maryland, New Hampshire and New Jersey do not mandate abortion reporting. California does not collect abortion data at all. Alaska and New Hampshire have not released statistics since 1998. This affects CDC's data, which is assembled every year from reports received from state health departments.

Due to differing reporting requirements and data-gathering procedures, abortion information for the District, Maryland and Virginia does not permit meaningful comparisons.

Guttmacher produces its reports by contacting abortion providers nationwide; its reports are considered more comprehensive than the CDC's. But the institute publishes the data only every four or five years. Neither group has published data for years beyond 2002.

Despite the inconsistencies of methods, the trends reported by CDC and Guttmacher correspond closely to each other. ·

If he wasn't in the White House, though, Hollywood would drop him like yesterday's garbage.

Obama is letting them drop charges against terrorists for this horrible sick crime???

What orifice did you pull this out of?

Messiah
I read the article, it states that he makes a messiah joke, sort of like Clinton's reference in the primaries. I watched the Youtube video and I'm not convinced that that is the real Obama.  Who made that video clip?  The video clip looks like Obama (sort of) and the voice sounds like him (sort of) but the usual body language just isn't there.  If this were true don't you think the McCain camp  would have been all over it?
Messiah

I voted for Barack Obama, and I believe he is a tremendously intelligent and talented man.  If I thought for one minute that he, like George W. Bush, for example, had regular personal conversations with God and God told him to start a frivolous war, I wouldn't have voted for him.

In fact, one of the many reasons I voted for him was because he DOESN'T act like some sort of Messiah.  He's just a human being who wants America and Americans to prosper.  He has not only acknowledged that problems exist in our country, he wants to correct them, whereas McCain thought the "fundamentals of the economy are strong," McCain's economics guy, Phil Gramm, called Americans a bunch of "whiners," McCain wanted to suspend the gas tax so it would have a good "psychological" effect on Americans, etc., etc., etc.

It seems to me that McCain is the one with the Messiah complex, considering he 's the only one who knows how to "get bin Laden."  He's either waiting to trade bin Laden for the Presidency (country FIRST?) or he's told Bush how to "get him," and Bush hasn't wanted to "get him."

Either way, bin Laden is still running around the Afghanistan/Pakistan border (unless Benazir Bhutto was correct when she told David Frost that bin Laden had been murdered).

messiah?
What facts do you base your dire predictions on? When you continue to ascribe biblical proportions to President Obama's attributes, you cease to become believable. Sounds like sour grapes to me and not based on anything but your hate and bile. I like intelligent political discourse, but, Jesus Christ, this is just pious pus aimed at discrediting ANYTHING not within your limited range of logical thinking.

bush messiah
If anyone has a messiah complex I think it is George W. Bush.  I haven't heard O tell anyone that God told him anything.  Some of these posts on this board.  I swear some would vote for Hitler if he ran as a Republican!!!  Talk about sheep!
Messiah complexes
I had to laugh at the fact that Col. Oliver North (partners in crime with Reagan and the Iran-Contra fiasco) had the gall to 'write' such an article....that clown should have been court-marshialed and sent to Leavenworth for his part in the aforementioned fiasco...puleeeeze..
I'm not the one calling him the messiah........sm
Check out some of the Obama supporter web sites if you don't believe that his own people are calling him that, Louis Farrakan for one. Here is what Farrakan has to say.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OowxMcVTjTE

Farrakan says: "You are the instruments that God is going to use to bring about universal change. And that is why Barack has captured the youth. And he has involved young people in a political process that they didn't care anything about. That's a sign. When The Messiah speaks, the youth will hear. And The Messiah is absolutely speaking."

He is being tauted as the messiah by many of his supporters. IF he were the messiah, he would be coming down from heaven on the clouds riding a white horse and wielding a sword. Read Revelation 19:11-16.
Didn't say that either. You are the messiah gal.

A lot of Americans have become so insulated from reality that they imagine that  America can suffer defeat without any inconvenience to themselves.
Pause a moment, reflect back.
These events are actual events from history..
They really happened!!!
Do you remember?
1. 1968 Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed by a Muslim male extremist.
2. In 1972 at the Munich Olympics, athletes were kidnapped and massacred by Muslim male extremists.
3. In 1979, the  US embassy in Iran was taken over by Muslim male extremists.
4. During the 1980's a number of Americans were kidnapped in Lebanon by Muslim male extremists.
5. In 1983, the US Marine barracks in Beirut was blown up by Muslim male extremists.
6. In 1985 the cruise ship Achille Lauro was hijacked and a 70 year old American passenger was murdered and thrown overboard in his wheelchair by Muslim male extremists.
7. In 1985 TWA flight 847 was hijacked at  Athens , and a US Navy diver trying to rescue passengers was murdered by Muslim male extremists.
8. In 1988 , Pan Am Flight 103 was bombed by Muslim male extremists.
9. In 1993 the World   Trade Center was bombed the first time by Muslim male extremists.
10. In 1998, the  US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were bombed by Muslim male extremists.
11. On 9/11/01 , four airliners were hijacked; two were used as missiles to take down the World Trade Centers and of the remaining two, one crashed into the US Pentagon and the other was diverted and crashed by the passengers. Thousands of people were killed by Muslim male extremists.
12. In 2002 the  United States fought a war in Afghanistan against Muslim male extremists.
13. In 2002 reporter Daniel Pearl was kidnapped and murdered by-- you guessed it-- Muslim male extremists..
No, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you? So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people... Absolutely No Profiling!
They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winner and former Governor Joe Foss,  but leave Muslim Males alone lest they be guilty of profiling.
According to The Book of Revelations:
The Anti-Christ will be a man, in his 40s, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal....the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, he will destroy everything.
And Now:
For the award winning Act of Stupidity Of all times the People of America want to elect, to the most Powerful position on the face of the Planet -- The Presidency of the United states of America ... A Male of Muslim descent who is the most extremely liberal Senator in Congress (in other words an extremist) and in his 40s.
Have the American People completely lost their Minds, or just their Power of Reason ???
I'm sorry but I refuse to take a chance on the 'unknown' candidate Obama...
Let's send this to as many people as we can so that the Gloria Aldreds and other stupid attorneys along with Federal Justices that want to thwart common sense, feel ashamed of themselves -- if they have any such sense.
As the writer of the award winning story 'Forrest Gump' so aptly put it,
'Stupid Is As Stupid Does'

Each opportunity that you have to send it to a friend or media outlet....do it!
or again. .  just delete if you disagree.
Okay, I guess the messiah does not lie after all.
LOL
Obama the Messiah

amazes me with his stupidity.  He is now saying that he wants less regulation when it comes to unions.  Uhh....didn't he learn anything when the pubs deregulated things and then everything blew up in our faces.  Besides, unions are a huge part of why our auto industry is failing right now so why in the world would you give them more control and less regulations?  Oh...but I forgot....unions are democrat backers.  How could I forget such an important thing as that?  Makes me sick!!!

see inside for definition of messiah -
Mes·si·ah (m-s)
n.
1. also Mes·si·as (m-ss) The anticipated savior of the Jews.
2. also Messias Christianity Jesus.
3. messiah One who is anticipated as, regarded as, or professes to be a savior or liberator.

It is not really all that scary if you look at all 3 meanings and choose one!

And that's just the tip of this iceberg  (Pflager, Rezko, Wright, etc.).

So you are mumping now from the messiah smear
There is nothing in your characterization of Obama's position on small business that remotely resembles and accurate statement. Not only can you not hear, you obviously can't read either.

Obama and Biden have posted an extremely detailed plan in the Blueprint for Change that describes very creative and innovative ways in which small businesses will be supported and encouraged. The tax cuts and who will benefits can also be found there. I see noting in McCain's plan that compares.
When leaders get messiah complexes...sm

When Leaders Get Messiah Complexes

Thursday, October 23, 2008

By Col. Oliver North

Washington, D.C. — On Wednesday this week, I was an unwilling eyewitness to a dramatic political event and it made me wonder where we are headed as a nation. More on that in a moment. First, a little background.

There is no doubt that leadership matters. The study of human history provides evidence that empires — even entire civilizations — rise and fall on the ideas, virtues and skills of great leaders. From Mesopotamia to the European continent, those who chronicled the triumphs and failures of great leaders in the Western world measured success based on military prowess and territory conquered. Herodotus detailed how the Persian Empire, built by Darius, eventually succumbed to Alexander the Great in the 5th Century B.C. That vision of leadership began to change in what is now Israel.

Old Testament prophets described a Messiah — in Aramaic, měshīhā — a leader — a savior who would deliver the Jewish people from their travails. For more than two millennia, Christians have believed that the Messiah is Jesus of Nazareth and that at the appointed time he will come again in triumph. Unfortunately, in the modern era there have many other leaders who perceived that they had messianic qualities that only they could provide.

Napoleon, in the aftermath of the bloody French Revolution, described himself as "essential" to the future of France – and was appointed dictator. The aftermath was a disaster for his countrymen and much of Europe.

Adolf Hitler was elected by the German people and then given absolute power because he claimed that only he could "preserve the Aryan race." The result was a global conflagration that resulted in the death of more than 25 million.

More recently — from Idi Amin in Uganda, to Pol Pot in Cambodia, Kim Jung IL in Korea and Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe — all have "led" their people to perdition after describing themselves as the only men capable of leading their populations through difficult times. Yet, all their people were ultimately worse off.

It is notable that until the 20th century, the American people managed to avoid selecting leaders who held messianic self-esteem. Neither George Washington nor Abraham Lincoln — arguably two of this nation's greatest leaders through the toughest crises in our history — described themselves in such terms. In fact, the record of what they said and wrote is replete with humility.

Not until Franklin Delano Roosevelt decided in 1940 that our country needed his "seasoned leadership," did any U.S. president even contemplate a third successive term in office. While FDR rose to become a great wartime leader, there is also little doubt that he amassed far more power in the office of chief executive than any of his predecessors. Roosevelt's authority was so great that his successor, Harry Truman, the modest man from Missouri, saw fit to endorse a constitutional amendment limiting presidents to two terms.

Given America's history of limiting executive power in government — if by no other means than term limits — it is interesting to note how much hope some people now vest in such office. And it's not just the presidency.

New York City, where FOX News Channel is headquartered, has a public law limiting the mayor to a tenure of two terms. Despite this ordinance, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, citing the current "economic crisis," insists that he should have a third stint in office. Though he was once a believer in term limits he now claims that, "Given the enormous challenges we face, I don't want to walk away from a city I feel I can help lead through these tough times."

That's messianic thinking. But apparently the Big Apple isn't the only place it's happening.

During Wednesday afternoon's rush hour, I was making my way home on the "Dulles Greenway" when a phalanx of police motorcycles and cruisers stopped all traffic and ordered us to pull our vehicles off the highway onto the shoulders. Over a loudspeaker we were told to stay put until the Obama campaign convoy passed, on the way to a rally in Leesburg, Virginia.

Instantly, hundreds of people were out of their cars. Directly in front of me a group of supporters — evident by their bumper-stickers — jumped out with cameras, cell-phones and banners. They began chanting: "The Messiah! He's coming! Obama is coming!" The shouting only intensified as the candidate and his entourage — motorcycles, police cars, black Secret Service Suburbans and busses — roared past us.

What I found so disturbing was seeing so many of my countrymen who apparently think — or believe — or hope — that the next president of the United States will save us from ourselves. Senator Obama has said we can not, "Wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for." He would do well to remember that unfulfilled expectations are the greatest cause of anger on the planet. That's true whether it is between a husband and wife, students and teacher, employers and employees, or leaders and the led. He might also recall that humility is a virtue that has distinguished our greatest leaders.

What all this means to the future of this republic, I don't know. I'm a military historian, not a prophet. But I do know the first name of the Messiah. It's not Mike. And it isn't Barack, either.

Oliver North hosts War Stories on FOX News Channel and is the author of the new best-seller, "American Heroes: In The War Against Radical Islam." He has just returned from assignment in Afghanistan.

Desperation at its most extreme. Pathetic.
Actually he's the messiah - haven't you heard
I tried pulling up your link but it directed me somewhere else and not sure what you were reading.

However Farrahkan says he is the messiah and most O lovers believe that so they must follow Farrahkan too.

As for alien? Maybe he was sent by illegal aliens, but you never know. If O was not an American born citizen and never even applied to become an American citizen, he may indeed be an illegal alien himself. Time will tell.
What he IS is a tool; not a uniter, not the messiah, not even up to the job...nm

Daley 'shocked' as feds reject aid
September 3, 2005

BY STEPHANIE ZIMMERMANN AND SCOTT FORNEK Staff
Reporters

A visibly angry Mayor Daley said the city had offered
emergency, medical and technical help to the federal
government as early as Sunday to assist people in the
areas stricken by Hurricane Katrina, but as of Friday,
the only things the feds said they wanted was a single
tank truck.

That truck, which the Federal Emergency Management
Agency requested to support an Illinois-based medical
team, was en route Friday.

We are ready to provide more help than they have
requested. We are just waiting for their call, said
Daley, adding that he was shocked that no one seemed
to want the help.

Meanwhile, U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) said he
would call for congressional hearings into the federal
government's preparations and response.

The response was achingly slow, and that, I think, is
a view shared by Democrats, Republicans, wealthy and
poor, black and white, the freshman senator said. I
have not met anybody who has watched this crisis
evolve over the last several days who is not just
furious at how poorly prepared we appeared to be.

Response 'baffling'

The South Side Democrat called FEMA's slow response
baffling.

I don't understand how you could have a situation
where you've got several days' notice of an enormous
hurricane building in the Gulf Coast, you know that
New Orleans is 6 feet below sea level. ... The notion
that you don't have good plans in place just does not
make sense, Obama said.

Obama said he expects his counterparts in Louisiana,
Mississippi or Alabama will call for congressional
hearings, but he is ready if they do not. It's
heartbreaking and infuriating and, I think, is
embarrassing to the American people.''

Daley said the city offered 36 members of the
firefighters' technical rescue teams, eight emergency
medical technicians, search-and-rescue equipment, more
than 100 police officers as well as police vehicles
and two boats, 29 clinical and 117 non-clinical health
workers, a mobile clinic and eight trained personnel,
140 Streets and Sanitation workers and 29 trucks, plus
other supplies. City personnel are willing to operate
self-sufficiently and would not depend on local
authorities for food, water, shelter and other
supplies, he said.

Flanked at a Friday press conference by a who's who
from city government, religious organizations and
business, the mayor also announced formation of the
Chicago Helps Fund for storm victims.

I'm calling upon every resident of Chicago to donate
what they can afford, whether it's 50 cents or 50
dollars, the mayor said.

People can make tax-deductible cash or check donations
at any of Bank One's 330 Chicago area branches or by
check at Chicago Helps, c/o Bank One, 38891 Eagle Way,
Chicago 60678-1388. A phone line to take credit card
donations will be set up.

Churches were urged to take up collections this
Sunday, and firefighters are planning to collect at
major intersections this weekend.

In addition, donations will be taken at this weekend's
Jazz Fest in Grant Park, and $2 of every ticket
purchased through Ticketmaster for the Chicago Classic
football game at Soldier Field today will go to
hurricane relief. The Shedd Aquarium announced it will
donate $1 from every ticket sold this holiday weekend
to relief efforts and has set up donation stations
at the aquarium.

Homeless shelters enlisted

By midday Friday, Inner Voice, a private agency that
runs 27 homeless shelters for the city, had rounded up
space in unused facilities for about 2,000 storm
refugees, should they need it, said president Brady
Harden.

Ed Shurna, executive director of the Chicago Coalition
for the Homeless, suggested the city tap recently
vacated units at Cabrini-Green and Lathrop Homes that
were slated for demolition but still have heat and
electricity available.

Daley reiterated that students from stricken areas are
welcome to enroll in the Chicago Public Schools and in
the City Colleges. Cardinal Francis George on Friday
asked that Catholic schools in the archdiocese waive
tuition for displaced children.

More than 400 students have applied to Loyola
University Chicago, most coming from its sister Jesuit
school, Loyola University New Orleans. Half had been
admitted as of late afternoon Friday. Spokeswoman
Maeve Kiley said the school will honor their tuition
that they already paid.''

University of Illinois campuses in Urbana-Champaign
and Chicago have admitted more than 100 students,
including two foreign students who had Fulbright
scholarships to attend Tulane.

Northeastern said it would waive tuition and fees for
Illinois residents who already paid another school,
and would grant in-state tuition to out-of-state
students. Northwestern plans to let students pay what
they would have at their original school and forward
the money to that school.

Why do any of you think Obama and his Chicago
nm
Who knows with Chicago politics.........sm
I had heard that the Rev. Jesse Jackson was interested in Obama's seat but I don't know if he was tied up in this particular fiasco or not.

I would imagine Obama might have something else for Ms. Jarr to do in his administration. Time will tell on that.
Chicago politics

It's no secret how corrupt Chicago politics are (& Illinois as a whole).  They have the highest tax in the nation--10.25%!  My sister lives there, and earns an excellent salary, yet gets taxed to death.  Chicago is also quite fond of nepotism as well.  We're talking dead voters and also taxes for all kinds of environmental stuff.  Let us now forget the state tax as well.

Totally militant politics!

Chicago is no different that any other big city...sm
New York, Miami, LA and many others.

Is there a female gender for the word Messiah?
Garners Pope's Undying Gratitude" and suddenly equating a candidate with their Savior has become perfectly politically correct.
Bottom line here. O does not claim to be messiah
Anybody who subscribes to such nonsense on any level whatsoever is the one who is confused.....VERY confused.
Rush Limbaugh, hardly the Messiah of the Rep. party.
I agree with a lot of things he says, but just like the dems don't like to have Obama put forth as thier Messiah, I know pubs don't like to have anyone named that way - not Rush, not Newt, not anyone. And him being addicted to drugs at one point in his life has nothing to do with it. Clinton was a lying, cheating womanizer and looks like the majority of the dems got over that one!

You just have to put certain things in perspective, that's all.
Here's hoping Chicago workers' sit-in and

good things to come.  As Bank of America acquires Merrill-Lynch (whose CEO has the utter gall to request a $10 million bonus pay-out after the ML sell-out) they are refusing credit to Republic Windows and Doors out of Chicago after receiving $15 billion in TARP funds.  The workers are fighting back to recover the pay and benefits they have already earned and their governor is backing them up.  Now that's what I'm talkin' about !

CHANGE - CHICAGO STYLE

Body count.

In the last six months 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago ,

221 killed in Iraq

The leadership in Illinois ....all Democrats.

Sens. Barack Obama & D*ick Durbin
Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.
Gov. Rod Blogojevich
House leader Mike Madigan
Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike)
Mayor Richard M. Daley (son of former Mayor Richard J.
Daley).....

Chicago is a combat zone. Of course they're all blaming each
other.

Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any!

(Look them up if you want).

State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country.

Cook Co unty ( Chicago ) sales tax 10.25% highest in country.

Chicago school system, one of the worst in country.

This is the political culture that Obama comes from in
Illinois .

And he's gonna 'fix' Washington politics?

The mayor of Chicago also spoke this...sm
morning explaining the need for city employee layoffs.
Am more concerned about ALL the Chicago crooks!
nm
They should probably hurry before Barry from Chicago...
gets his national "security" police force going....
Ditto, good post. Not a Messiah follower either!! nm
