Your mistaking feeling duped/foolish with hatred

Posted By: me on 2008-12-16
In Reply to: Your thinker is broken. - sm

They are two totally different things. I really really really do not hate the guy. I voted for him in the primaries. We were on the phone battling with our families cos they were for Clinton and we were trying to tell them about the Os plans, issues, etc.

We like that the O is a nice looking man, has a nice looking family, has a good strong voice when giving speeches, is physically fit (minus his smoking and possible cancer that lies ahead for him) and especially glad he will not be throwing any "rodeos" for foreign diplomats that come to our country.

However, once he was elected over Clinton the truth started coming out and we felt like quite the fools for buying into his lies. And now his lies are just blatantly out there and he doesn't care if people know he's lying. Our only ignorance was blindly buying into his bull without doing more research on him. The O worshippers/lovers who are cutting down people who have any question about his acquantances, history, citizenship, etc are the ones who are showing their true ignorance. My DH tells me all the time read everything and do not count on one source for information. They have an agenda. Knowledge is what will free the mind.

I agree.... Foolish people act foolish.........sm
Regardless of whether the bars are open or not, but with the huge crowds expected, why tempt fate because of some greedy city council that can't wait to get their hands on some $$$?

I can bet if this were the Republican party's candidate (regardless of who he was), the Dems would be screaming. You couldn't pay me enough to be there.....not because of who is being honored, if you can call this type of debaucery an honor, but because of fear of life and limb even if I did behave myself.
you seem to be mistaking
Crazed with reality. We are reading. We are reading everything and we have open eyes and open minds. We hear who is who, what they have done, how they have voted and who their associations are. We have minds that can think. Oh we recognize the truth all right. Like I say to my MIL - haven't you been reading anything or do you just get all your info from MSNBC and the other liberal sources and ignore the facts.
You have been duped......
This man cannot stop pre-existing conditions on insurance companies. If you knew what you were talking about, you would know that. AND if you think you are going to get the SAME healthcare he and the other senators get, you are also living in a dream world. He will NOT do that for you. He said he would out of his own two lips and lied. Is he going to pay for that wonderful insurance plan for you? I am not for insurance companies screwing us over but Obama has promised you something he cannot produce. In talking with insurance agents in our church who have long wanted pre-existing conditions taken off policies they have told me as well that the "pie in the sky" healthcare plan he has said he would get for you is a lie. LIke they said, if he could do that for them, boy they would be the first to jump at it. But they know YOU and I will not be getting that....do you have that kind of money. Obama can promise you the moon but you won't be getting it unless he knows how to pull it down from the Heavens.

I have been around a long time and had many different insurances over the years. My husband and I would love for healthcare to be affordable and accessible but there are just far too many that do not understand why he is flat out lying to you.

My guy, as you assume, is NOT McCain. McCain already knows it is not possible to promise and do these things because insurance companies are private entities, so promising something that is impossible is smarter than lying to everyone.

Obama is already wanting to change his economic policy again. Know about that? He wants to tax you more so you can pay for more people, free handouts to those who do not work, who have never worked. You actually think he can do that by cutting YOUR taxes? If you do, he probably has a moon he can sell you as well.

not so much duped...
if I could afford it, I would live there, too. I imagine most people would.
Your are mistaking evil and kniving with intelligent
and calling Bush mentally retarded? Excuse me, are you a physician with years of experience to determine.

First this is an insult to special needs people.

Second Bush's IQ score is reported to be higher than Obama's. Might help to understand why he refuses to let his school grades out - he failed his classes.

Anti-choice movement gets duped in a Blogger Baby Hoax

The unmarried mother's story about giving birth to a child diagnosed as terminally ill in the womb hit a major nerve on the Internet.

Every night for the last two months, thousands of abortion opponents across the nation logged on to a blog run by the suburban Chicago woman who identified herself only as "B" or "April's Mom."

People said they prayed that God would save her pregnancy. They e-mailed her photos of their children dressed in pink, bought campaign T-shirts, shared tales of personal heartache and redemption, and sent letters and gifts to an Oak Lawn P.O. box in support.

As more and more people were drawn to her compelling tale, eager advertisers were lining up. And established parenting Web sites that oppose abortion were promoting her blog -- which included biblical quotes, anti-abortion messages and a soundtrack of inspirational Christian pop songs.

By Sunday night, when "April's Mom" claimed to have given birth to her "miracle baby" -- blogging that April Rose had survived a home birth only to die hours later -- her Web site had nearly a million hits.

There was only one problem with the unfolding tragedy: None of it was true.

Not the pregnancy, and not the photos posted on the blog of the supposed mother and Baby April Rose, swaddled in white blankets. The baby was actually a lifelike doll, which immediately raised the suspicion of loyal blog-followers.

"I have that exact doll in my house," said Elizabeth Russell, a dollmaker from Buffalo who had been following the blog. "As soon as I saw that picture, I knew it was a scam."
--
She had expected only a handful of friends to read it, but when her first post got 50 comments, she was hooked.

"I've always liked writing. It was addictive to find out I had a voice that people wanted to hear," Beushausen said.

"Soon I was getting 100,000 hits a week, and it just got out of hand," she said. "I didn't know how to stop. ... One lie led to another."

So the lie isn't the problem, but the fact that she got addicted to blogging made her continue on. What a sad and disgusting tale. Using a phony story to whip up the anti-choice movement is pretty vile. A woman has the right to choose in this country, but the religious right will do anything it can to try and take that right away. You never hear them talk about the mother in any of their debates. It's like the woman is only a "vessel" to carry a child and doesn't exist in any other manner. "Bring the vessel here." "How dare the vessel speak out."

How foolish. SM

I have spent a fair amount of time trying to point out the perfidy of the people who post here. Want to see attacks?  Look at both boards.  Both are good examples.  I asked for proof of a story I had not seen.  It was a horrible accusation and I would like to read it for myself.  HOW AWFUL OF ME!  You are the attacker.  It might behoove you to gain a little insight instead of making a fool of yourself.

Not me for a minute!!! Foolish old man. nm
x
Not afraid of looking foolish cuz...
Things are turning around in spite of people like you who prefer to sit and stew over the fact that the Democrats won.

Sorry, but the world is moving on with or without you.

Save your advice, you might need it.
Please stop. You are making us all look foolish. nm

.

foolish?? Maybe republicans, not democrats
Duh?  Foolish?  Told by a political friend he came upon failure=bush, check it out?  Foolish?  Well, heck, I would rather be **foolish** than murderous, lying, not trustworthy.  Enough of politically correct.  Do the republicans practice that?  No.  They are right now issuing talking points against Joe Wilson and thankfully the investigation is going on with a republican prosecutor who can see the forest for the trees.  The republicans since Clinton was elected back in the 1990s have done nothing but attack any ideology but theirs.  The democrats, on the other hand, have sat quietly by or, with Kerrys campaign, tried to take the high road until bushs election machine started attacking his patriotism and service to the country in Vietnam.  Please, Im so sick to death of being told we should not attack..We are only defending ourselves, we are attacking **Back** at the republicans.

What good to reduce out carbon footprint when China and India won't, and if it bankrupts our whole nation?

Blind faith is foolish....people need to govern

Just my feeling
To the republicans that have posted today on the liberal board..I enjoyed reading your posts..They were thought-worthy and kind of telling a bit about the posters.  I hope and wish we can keep this board as an insightful debating board..Cause, let me tell ya, the bickering and anger, displayed from both sides, just kills me..it upsets me so..You have my word, I will try my best and If I stray into nastiness, both liberals and republicans, please call me on it..
I know the feeling..its like we are
in a paralel universe to America (like in Mirror Mirror for you old Star Trek fans:) Its scary. I keep waiting to hear Rod Serling say something about the Twilight Zone..and it just gets worse all the time.
I had a feeling you did......sm
so I gave you a little nudge....was pretty sure you wouldn't be keen on that one....

feeling better?

Bad feeling?
Well then by all means put another "cowboy" only this time a Military Cowboy in the white house and see what that does not bring.  Maybe if someone would sit down and talk to our enemies instead of throwing bombs on them we could actually get something done in our own country.  I don't like McCain's attitude, reminds me of my grandmother - look at them, decide you don't like them and walk away.  It is time to put differences aside and come together - whether he is a smooth talker or not, at least people are talking.
Wow, feeling a bit touchy are we? After all...
Excuuuuuze me for asking.
My main feeling is that we are
somehow purposely being herded through a squeeze shoot - by the time we have lost our jobs and insurance, we will be more than happy to accept socialism. none of this bail out is going to trickle down this far; in fact, we are the source of money with our pennies and dimes so they can have bonuses and vacations. When I got laid off last year, it was the first time in over 21 years that I had thanksgiving, christmas and new year's off. Reliant Energy in Houston is for sell. UTMB Hospital in Galveston just laid of 3800, they are the largest employer in this county. Everybody can't be bailed out. Buckle up, everybody.
Ask Mrs. Bridger.....I have a feeling she knows; that's why

I have the cure for your feeling.
If my posts make you uncomfortable, by all means don't read 'em.

Guy goes to the doctor and says "Doc, ya gotta help me. It hurts when I do this". Doctor says "Well then, don't do that!"

Get it?

Far be it from me to talk you out of your feeling of unfairness. sm
However, posts have been deleted on both boards.  There are two specific posters who are targeted by the liberals repeatedly (and you quoted one here).  Besides, liberals are sissies. This whole thing is like holding your breath until you turn blue because you can't have your way!  How do you exist in other political forums.  Most of the ones I frequent would laugh me off the board.  My last post here. This is just beating a dead horse.
Trust your instincts, know the feeling.sm
Even scarier, some people (sheep) will believe this.
So, ho wlong have you been feeling this hostile
some might conclude that the candidate with a double-digit lead would be the stronger of the two, but that logic evidently escapes you.
I just get the sick feeling in my stomach
that we are screwed either way. Neither of them have the answer. I don't care for either of their plans. All I have left to go on is which of their morals line up more with mine, and that's Mccain/Palin. I have tried to find the "hope" in Obama's plan, but the fact that the first thing he will do is sign the right to choose act when he becomes president just doesn't sit well with me. I just can't vote for him knowing he will do that. It goes against everything my faith stands for. Blast me all you want, but I am a Christian first, American second.

If we could just mush them together we might have a good candidate! We need the bionic man doctor....
I have a feeling that his plane is leased and when...sm
the campaign is over he will have no need of it for he will be flying in Air Force One. You are right about his income though. His Senate salary is miniscule when compared to the royalties from his books.
By me too - glad you're feeling better!

I have a feeling they just want their 15 minutes of fame.

Lately, people will do anything to get their own "15 minutes of fame." That's why you have so many reality shows.

I think it's all despicable and they should not have shown that on TV. Now every other "15 minute" famer will do something on the same order to see if they can get in the newspapers or on TV. Watch and see. There's still 6 days left.

Obama gives me a bad feeling, like he's a scheister,

I think he has a lot of respect for McCain.

Sheehan Feeling the Glare of the Spotlight

Some Are Focusing Anger on Protester

By Michael A. Fletcher
Washington Post Staff Writer
Wednesday, August 17, 2005; Page A03

CRAWFORD, Tex., Aug. 16 -- Cindy Sheehan rode into town 10 days ago, a forlorn mother with a question for her president: Why did my son die in Iraq?

But now the same wave of publicity and political anger that she rode to become a nationally known symbol of the antiwar movement threatens to crash down on Sheehan herself.

"

Conservative commentators and Web sites are taking aim at Sheehan with the same ferocity she has aimed at President Bush. In part, they are using her own words against her -- reciting such controversial comments as her vow to refuse to pay taxes to a government waging an "illegal" war and her desire to see Bush impeached.

The backlash is becoming a new object lesson in how saturation media coverage and the instinct for personal attack are shaping political debate. Some independent commentators said the pushback on the right has succeeded at scuffing the public sympathy and deference she had earned as the mother of a fallen soldier, and has shown how virtually any subject relating to the Iraq war and Bush's presidency is viewed through a partisan lens.

"Cindy Sheehan has emboldened the progressives who oppose the war and caused the conservative diehards who are behind the war to go into a defensive mode," said Michael Harrison, publisher of Talkers magazine, a trade publication for talk radio. "Cindy Sheehan is going to be a target, and they'll probably go through her past to find what they can to discredit her."

Since her son, Casey, 24, was killed in Iraq last year, Sheehan, of Vacaville, Calif., has traveled the country trying to drum up opposition to the war in Iraq. She has participated in peace conferences, demonstrations and a mock congressional hearing about the "Downing Street memo" -- notes of a meeting with British Prime Minister Tony Blair and his top advisers that said the Bush administration had decided to go to war and molded intelligence findings to support that decision.

In that time, Sheehan, 48, a soft-spoken woman who says she was radicalized by her son's death, has engaged in her fair share of inflammatory rhetoric.

"It's obvious Cindy Sheehan has become a political player, whose primary concern is embarrassing the president," Fox Television personality Bill O'Reilly wrote Tuesday in an online column. "She is no longer just a protester."

Bush, Sheehan said, lied to the American people about the war and should be impeached. She is refusing to pay taxes in hopes that the Internal Revenue Service will come after her to collect. "I'm not supporting a government that wages an illegal, immoral war," she said. "I want them to come after me, so I can put the war on trial."

Still, she said some of the statements attributed to her are distortions. Contrary to a letter attributed to her that is circulating widely on the Internet, she asserts that she has never said that the United States is waging the war in Iraq to protect Israel.

"I have said a lot of strong things, and I'll stand by everything I said," Sheehan said, adding that she thought the document had been altered. "But I didn't say that."

The scrutiny that has accompanied Sheehan's quick rise to prominence has extended to her family. Several in-laws have publicly criticized her protest -- announcing their displeasure in a release to the Drudge Report. News that Sheehan's husband, Patrick, has filed for divorce has been trumpeted by some bloggers as evidence of her extreme views.

Sheehan acknowledges that some of her views are becoming a distraction. Also, she said, some groups that have aided her protest have agendas -- including conspiracy theories about the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and some vaguely anti-Semitic theories about the cause of the war -- that she says she does not share.

Consequently, she has asked that her campsite near Bush's ranch be restricted only to organizations of military families, or those who have lost loved ones in the war.

"

"Attention got focused on the messenger and not the message," Sheehan said. "My thing is ending the war in Iraq. But there are a lot of people who want to attach their horse to my wagon, because of the exposure I'm getting."

The increased scrutiny of Sheehan is coming as some residents here are growing irritated with the stream of antiwar protesters drawn to her vigil.

On Tuesday, a spokeswoman for Sheehan announced plans to move the camp from the drainage ditches next to the winding road about two miles from Bush's 1,600-acre spread to a field on a ranch offered by one of Bush's neighbors. The new camp would be about a mile from the president's ranch. All that would be left behind at the original site would be three tents and hundreds of white wooden crosses bearing the names of troops killed in Iraq.

The move followed complaints by about 60 of Bush's neighbors, who petitioned McLennan County officials to expand a no-parking zone around the camp, in an effort to avert the traffic tie-ups that have become commonplace as the protest has grown. Also, Monday night a truck dragging chains and a pipe demolished some crosses; the driver, Larry Northern, 46, of Waco, Tex., was charged with criminal mischief.

Sheehan has promised to remain encamped throughout Bush's five-week stay here and to return whenever the president does. She also announced plans for a series of nearly 1,000 candlelight vigils Wednesday night across the country. Liberal advocacy groups MoveOn.org Political Action and Democracy for America are organizing the protests.

"All of this other BS just clouds my message," Sheehan said. "My message is that of a brokenhearted mom sitting down in front of George Bush's ranch, wanting to know why my son died."

I'm feeling safer and securer. I don't know about you...JOKE! --NM

Ever get the feeling this is a proxy war between Bush and Iran?

Bush sent weapons to Israel.  Iran sent weapons to Hezbollah.  Bush must have figured that Americans wouldn't tolerate any more of his wars, so we're fighting Iran through Hezbollah via Israel.  Reminds me of a chess game.  I think this is the fault of Papa Bush.  He should have given Georgie more GI Joes to play with as a kid.

Now that there is an agreed cease fire, Israel is stepping up the offensive.  (Any surprises here?)  I wonder how many more innocent people they will kill in Lebanon - including Christians - and how much more of Lebanon's infrastructure they will destroy before they finally cease their fire.

Well of hatred???
Extremist talking point. Do you realize that this entire plan of attack, i.e. liberals hate this and hate that and ooze this and ooze that and spew this and spew that requires not one iota of rational or analytical thought. It is simply responding to just about anything a liberal says with bumper sticker talk, no cognitive thought going on whatsoever. It is becoming tiresome.
No hatred
for a group of people but a nasty, immoral type of behavior. There is a difference.
Hatred
for immoral acts is not a sin.
I don't see her as being consumed by hatred.

From her posts, it's clear that she's a very compassionate, kind, intelligent person who is capable of thinking independent thoughts.  She cares about people who need help in this country.  Nobody who is consumed by hatred can do that.

She's expressed fear and concern and frustration at this administration and where it's taking us, and she expressed anger at the person who's leading us in that direction.  She's not alone.  An increasing number of Americans feel the same way.

The only person I see consumed by hatred is YOU.  You've repeatedly littered this board with your hateful posts.  It's very easy to see who the hateful people are.

I suggested below that you/all the others (assuming there really is more than one) should be ignored. You contribute nothing to this board but anger, rage, hatred and skewed thinking.

Having said that, I won't bother reading/responding to your posts any more.  It's simply not worth it because you don't want to debate.  All you want to do is attack others.

I pity you.

River of hatred???

If Michael Moore has tapped into the river of hatred of the Democrats, what about a guy like Rush Limbaugh? What has he tapped into, the river of good will of the Republicans?

Elections are held every two years, and this election the people chose a majority of Democratic candidates.  I for one am glad that they did if for no other reason than it will bring new perspectives into a government that has been completely controlled by one party.  Further hope is that it may bring changes that work to the good of all of us.

I did not say river of hatred....
I said Michael Moore tapped into hatred and that liberals are on a river of denial...and I believe that. Why else would the very first thing they announced was that they planned to investigate Bush and corruption (not corrupt Democrats, just corrupt Republicans) and at least two have posted on the liberal board that they think terrorism should be on back burner to investigating Bush. Something is VERY, VERY wrong with that line of thinking, and that stems from hatred and revenge, certainly not any concern for this country.
You are so consumed by hatred
nm
Me too. Am so tired of their hatred.
nm
I did check. It is much more hatred for the right
nm
Too much hatred and lies here

I come (used to come) to this board to hear about the candidates.  Instead all I'm reading lately is posters attacking others for posting their viewpoints.  Someone posts something about Obama and the O supporters attack them "lies" they call them.  They don't defend Obama but instead insult and attack the poster.  Then they come out and say "oh poor me, you just hate Obama, your so insulting" while at the same time calling them every name in the book.  What I'm hearing is the republicans are trying to shed some light on what Obama is but some of the democrats don't want to hear it and already exclaim that Obama has won.  They are condescending towards anyone who has a different viewpoint than theirs.  They won't read anything that has negative things to say about Obama and they won't read anything that has anything positive to say about McCain.  It's just hate-filled spew that comes out.  You'll cite polls if they favor Obama, and if they favor McCain you ignore them.  You won't even admit that the race is too close to call.  In your minds Obama has already won the election.  You'll support cheating if it favors Obama and condemn it if it favors McCain.  You'd rather live your lives having government regulate your lives, tell you what you can and cannot do, and take all your money to give a check to the people who are able to work but won't because why should they since they are receiving a check from government, while you are being told its your patriotic duty to give to these poor fellow Americans.  You'd rather have an inexperienced radical person running the country than someone who has experience and has shown by his voting record that he fights for the American people.  Yet not giving any reason (being older is not a reason).  I have not yet read any posts that are positive reasons for Obama being president, just hate-filled garbage against Palin.  Also makes me wonder why people are trying to keep Biden out of the spotlight.  Makes me want to find out more about what he's done in the past.

So I have decided to give the board a rest for awhile and will be back to vist after the election is over.  I'm no longer getting any valuable information here.  We have not had an election yet.  The polls are too close to call and even then you can't rely on the polls to give you accurate information (after all these polls are incuding all the dead people, pets, Santa Claus, Mary Poppins, Rama Dama Ding Dong, and all the other fictitious people, not to mention the people who registered 13 and 14 times or more as a democrat) in their polls.  I remember back in 2000 everyone was claiming Gore had won the election and it was very very close and look what happened.  He lost.

I will also continue to listen to all stations, and read all articles so I can at least get a fair and balance opinion of what is going on.

So have at it y'all.  You seem to love attacking people for no reason and when I read these posts I can really feel the negativity and hatred oozing.  So maybe I'll just stick to the Gab board - I need some more positive vibes.

P.S. - Just one more note.  Whoever wins will win, and whether it is democrat or republican we will deal with it.  When a democrat has won in the past there were no riots, republicans continued to try to work with the democrats, but we all know what happened the last two times a republican won.  As for the threats of "if Obama doesn't win there's going to be rioting in the streets".  Well if that does happen that goes to show you how many biggots wanted him in just because he's black - all the things they claim don't matter will come out.

over the hatred from the left... I see so much of it
nm
