Why should we hear about body bags and deaths, Barbara Bush said on ABC's Good Morning America on March 18, 2003. Oh, I mean, it's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?

What a stupid remark from Barbara Bush.  That whole family lacks compassion.  Unbelieveable.

Barbara Bush: Things Working Out Very Well for Poor Evacuees from New Orleans

NEW YORK Accompanying her husband, former President George H.W.Bush, on a tour of hurricane relief centers in Houston, Barbara Bush said today, referring to the poor who had lost everything back home and evacuated, This is working very well for them.

The former First Lady's remarks were aired this evening on National Public Radio's Marketplace program.

She was part of a group in Houston today at the Astrodome that included her husband and former President Bill Clinton, who were chosen by her son, the current president, to head fundraising efforts for the recovery. Sen. Hilary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama were also present.

In a segment at the top of the show on the surge of evacuees to the Texas city, Barbara Bush said: Almost everyone I’ve talked to says we're going to move to Houston.

Then she added: What I’m hearing is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality.

And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this--this (she chuckles slightly) is working very well for them.

Seems to me, he is talking about himself again.  

For too long, the culture of corruption has undercut development and good governance and bred criminality and mistrust around the world. Having had at least three relevant opportunities to make a statement about the killing of an Army recruiter and wounding of another since this occurred on Monday, Obama has not said a single word about it - but a statement was forthcoming from him immediately concerning the killing of Dr. Tiller.

The media coverage of the two events has also been strikingly different.  Please note that the sympathies of the liberal cause provide a complete explanation of both of these phenomena.

More than passingly strange that they think we don't notice stuff like this, n'est-ce pas? Well, they'll discover their mistake soon enough.  The election cycle of 2010 is already starting up - and it isn't going to look anything like the cycle of 2008.

You'd have to hear it yourself to get the correct context.  The caller was not even talking about reducing the crime rate, Bennett brought this up out of the blue, and he says I do know... before he made the comment, NOT making a reference to Freakonomics but his own opinion.

From the September 28 broadcast of Salem Radio Network's Bill Bennett's Morning in America:

CALLER: I noticed the national media, you know, they talk a lot about the loss of revenue, or the inability of the government to fund Social Security, and I was curious, and I've read articles in recent months here, that the abortions that have happened since Roe v. Wade, the lost revenue from the people who have been aborted in the last 30-something years, could fund Social Security as we know it today. And the media just doesn't -- never touches this at all.

BENNETT: Assuming they're all productive citizens?

CALLER: Assuming that they are. Even if only a portion of them were, it would be an enormous amount of revenue.

BENNETT: Maybe, maybe, but we don't know what the costs would be, too. I think as -- abortion disproportionately occur among single women? No.

CALLER: I don't know the exact statistics, but quite a bit are, yeah.

BENNETT: All right, well, I mean, I just don't know. I would not argue for the pro-life position based on this, because you don't know. I mean, it cuts both -- you know, one of the arguments in this book Freakonomics that they make is that the declining crime rate, you know, they deal with this hypothesis, that one of the reasons crime is down is that abortion is up. Well --

CALLER: Well, I don't think that statistic is accurate.

BENNETT: Well, I don't think it is either, I don't think it is either, because first of all, there is just too much that you don't know. But I do know that it's true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could -- if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down. That would be an impossible, ridiculous, and morally reprehensible thing to do, but your crime rate would go down. So these far-out, these far-reaching, extensive extrapolations are, I think, tricky.

"Sometimes I think there isn't much difference between these people and the terrorists who attacked us and other countries.  They both exhibit signs of mental illness, a maniacal obsession with controlling what everyone believes, and they both promote hatred, violence and intolerance in the name of their respective gods.  About the only main difference I can see is that the terrorists, unfortunately, seem to be much more intelligent in their pursuit of their goals."

This is a glimpse into a very sick and demented mind.  There are two boards on here.  AG and Nan have chosen to stay off this one.  THEY took the higher road.  YOU, however, sit over here like Little Miss Muffett and pass judgement on people you are attacking. Amazing!  I never said I wouldn't come here and unless I attack you personally, which I have not (merely pointing out your delusions of grandeur and gross mental imposition) you are stuck with me because I can't believe that even some of the liberals HERE would put up with what you are saying.

Why do people have to think like this?  Some black people would even turn on another black person if they thought one was catering to white people?  We are all human beings.  This is just really sad.

All I know is that I was shocked nothing was said about Obama when he said his grandma was a typical white person.  Now...if McCain had called a black person a typical black person....his career would be done and over.  Why the double standards?

insurance companies handle things.  For example, my sister-in-law is pregnant and was due more than 2-3 weeks ago.  She had to ask permission from her insurance to be induced and they denied her.  This woman is in her 40s and should not be allowed to go 2-3 weeks over her due date and yet insurance didn't want to pay for an induction. 

We pay the premiums.  If we pay our premiums, there is no reason why insurance companies shouldn't pay up when we need them to.  That is the problem.

To do away with insurance companies....I don't know.  I think you have a misconception about universal healthcare and you might want to look further into this.  If the government takes over health care costs, you think things are bad now.  You will have to wait longer for things.  We will lose some of our best doctors.  The government will not pay for elective things like knee replacements, etc.  If you have cancer and the government decides your treatment is too experimental or you don't warrant  treatment, they have pretty much already signed your death certificate.  Government controlled healthcare will be worse than the current insurance problems we have now.

Do things need to change in this area......yes.  However, let's make sure that we change it for the better.  Government controlled health care is not better.

Don't you think we'll have to pay the stimulus payments back?  Borrowed from.......China?

Actually, I didn't think it was funny either when he made that statement as our troops were and are being maimed and dying for him, and he thought it was funny that "whoops, no WMDs!"  Rude indeed!!!!!

And have you taken a poll of every democrat in the country as to whether they love or hate Phil?  These broad statements are not helping your credibility.
