she could move home with you or find someone in a similar situation and share expenses??

One of my family members got in a similar situation and ended up moving back in with the parents, and they all worked together. Not ideal -- but it used to be family and friends helping family and friends, not expecting the government to take care of them.

Does she go to church? There may be folks/groups there that could help.

I definitely would get a lawyer to try to make her ex-husband pay what he is supposed to ...

these are times for creative solutions ..

I truly am sorry for her situation and will pray for some relief for her. Good luck!
