Doesn't this board not allow posts or ads by companies that outsource?

If you're that upset about it, do what I did and work for a company that doesn't outsource

Do you consider Canadians being outsourcing? With all the Americans out of work does it bother you that companies hire Canadians?

Include All Type Transcription in the group that outsource to India; they won't tell you up front but if you do QA you will find out immediately; all the work from India have to be 100% re-listened and re-QA'd - I wonder if All Type realizes a profit from this, after all they are paying India and the US MTs (sounds like double your money spending to me)...just my opinion.

All Type management isn't easy to work with, either. The owner hasn't been an MT for over 10 yrs and her right hand has never done transcription; dontcha just love someone who has never transcribed and only worked in our field for less than 5 yrs, telling you that 100 reports (from India MTs) have to be QA'd daily keeping in mind these are re-listened 100% voice to text!!

Are companies that outsource allowed
to post job openings on this board? I thought they could not however PeopleSupport Rapidtext, Inc has offices in the Philippines. I was going to apply but now I don't think I will. If anyone can clarify this along with any information about them I would greatly appreciate it.
How about this? In a nutshell, which companies DO NOT outsource OFFshore?

Why do you think hospitals pay less for transcription companies who outsource or do VR?
These stinky companies do not want the hospitals to know that is what is going on because they charge the hospital the same rate whether it is a towel head or a machine typing their work versus a real MT. The transcription company just makes a bigger profit margin and finds another way to take money away from the MLS who live and work in the United States.

an extremely high number. Do you think they can get away with this..absolutely. They advertise that the are U.S. based and higher some U.S. MT's and the majority of the work goes overseas. Wake up people, it's called business. It may not be proper, but these large companies are cut throat, particularly the overseas companies. They have struck a gold mine and they know it. Sad part is, they will always find U.S. MTs to keep the company afloat. Without the U.S. MT's busting their rears to produce quality work, these companied would fail. Why can't anyone get this? Ladies (and gentlemen), do not work for any transcription company who outsources work out of the country. Otherwise, this buyout situation will continue, and before you know it, there will be virtually no large U.S. transcription companies left. Unfortunately, we will only have ourselves to blame. Don't be an enabler!
Jobs being sent to India - good companies who don't outsource
I've been working for a company for a few years now.  This company has started to remove several job types with greater turnaround times to India from our exiting accounts.  There was not enough work over the holidays to get in all of my hours (I know work is normally slow then), and this trend is still continuing.  We used to have a primary account and a secondary account as a back-up, but now I'm working on at least 5 or 6 accounts just to have enough work to complete my 8-hour shift. 
Your anger should be directed at the American Companies who outsource not (sm)
at the offshore employees who are also trying to make money for their families.
Companies that outsource to other companies?
Anyone know of any reliable companies that will outsource to American companies and pay a decent line rate? I am amazed at what the companies charge and then want to offer in this business anymore.

overall happiness within the company. That would be validated by number of MTs leaving - which isn't a lot, as far as I can see. Just because a few people are peevish about a few issues does not mean that it is a bad company. Maybe it is you that is a bad fit, eh?

about Chronicle.  My own experience was:  I HATED the platform (Apex).  It's an antiquated piece of junk that is slower than molasses in January and I couldn't make any money.  QA can be moody and the rules on the account change often - hard to keep up with all the formatting junk.  The owner is nice.  The office staff is nice.  Tech support is so-so as far as helpfulness.  I did not like that I had to stop all Java updates and go back to an older version of Java, which really slowed my system down.  Pay was on time and direct deposit.  The account was okay, it was clinic and good cents per line, but there were a lot of cherrypickers who would scoop out the good reports and leave the junk for other people.  I think Chronicle may have another platform besides Apex, but I am not familiar with it - you can always ask them.

lots of those folks didn't believe what they were told either. It just took a few years to really hit them. Now they are all screaming.

The poster has a right to post what she did. The other posters also have a right to post the positive posts they have. I am glad they did post. I just wish I had known all this before I went to work for LM, I would have weighed all this out and been more careful as far as looking for signs that I was not going to get paid, i.e., I wouldn't have done as much work the first pay period until I saw that I did get paid on time.

Why do my posts on the main board keep getting deleted?
All I asked was if there is a company out there with a platform like Precyse - where you can look up the old reports by doctor, or by patient.  What is so wrong with that?

It's obvious NOTHING HAS CHANGED AT ALL!  Rude, stupid people running this company.  That's why they have such a high turnover.  They can't keep anyone!  Hello!  I mean, look, this is a good example of how dense the mgt of SS is:  They post awful, rude, childish CRAP on this board and then try to tell you, oh, things have changed, it's not like that anymore.  Yeah, right...

continue to accept applications even when they have no positions open. That way they are ready for the future and have a list of approved applicants when accounts come on-line.

What kind of line rate do you get from the companies you work for?

How many lines you do an hour?

Do you work as an IC or employee?

I'm very interested in hearing how you manage 100,000/year.

I have talked to 3 companies that I really like and seem to have a lot of good posts here. sm

Once I sorted through the nasty and bitter posters and then the cheerleaders, for lack of a better word, a few companies seem to be truly good companies to work for.  All I am looking for are a few specifics that will tilt the balance for me.  I do want to say that all 3 know that I am talking to the other 2 and I was surprised at the reactions.  ALL 3 of them only had nice things to say about the other 2.  They did not bash those companies or try to sell me on theirs, just gave me facts. I was impressed by that.  There were 4 that I originally had narrowed it down to, but one of them went on and on about how the others were horrible and I would be better going to them.

Here's what I need to know about MDI Maryland, Keystrokes and TT.  I just want the facts, not the bitterness.  I would really like answers from MTs who have been at one or more of them for more than 6 months.  I think that 6 months is a good evaluation period.

Do they pay on time?
Is the pay correct?  If not, do they fix it right away?
Do they run out of work on a regular basis, not just during slow periods?
Can you reach a manager when you need one?
Does IS return your calls?
Do they give feedback if you ask for it?
Do they send work offshore that you know of (worked for a company that said no but really did)?
Do you get a good feeling from them/gut instinct?
Would you refer your friends or family to them if qualified?

Thank you in advance.  I am trying to decide by Monday and these are things that current and past employees can answer.  Please do not give me vague answers like don't go there or they're great.  I really am having a hard time choosing.
