2500 to 3000 a month is not unreasonable. SM

I do about 2000-2500. It depends on the work type. I like OP notes (if I am fortunate enough to get them). ERs would be nice too, but haven't done those in years. I work for MQ.

i could do 2500 to 3000 on ER too
You have life in the easy lane... ER docs, the same 10-20 at most day in and day out.. Try basic 4 with antiquated platforms (meditech) and 2000-5000 dictators to try and get a handle on.
I have made $2500-3000 for a national, but....
I have to work seven days a week 12-15 hours a day to do that and end up having no life and no benefits. I am giving this up and going to work for a local hospital. I know that at first I will not make the same, but it is worth it to me to go to work for 8 hours and be done instead of dragging it out up to 15 hours a day and not making that much less. Actually, over 8 hours in a hospital I do make more than working 8 hours at home. It makes me tired and grouchy and my family is tired of me being at home like that. I feel so much pressure every day trying to make a decent line count and it just takes too long. I want to get a life..
I usually average anywhere between 2500-3000 lines per shift
at KS.
I said that I do 1600+ per day. Most days, I am over 2500-3000 lines per day. 1600 is the personal
I do not work overtime except very, very occasionally. I use my Expanders and know my account inside out. It IS possible no matter how many people try to say that it is not. I rarely post here because I see people chopped to pieces when they say they make good money, no matter who they work for. It is as though only the negative voices are heard here.
$2500 gross a month working for a national

300 lph on DQS is not unreasonable

If I have my best account, the one I have made up normals on because the same doc's say the same thing, I can average 300 plh no sweat.  when not on that account, it's usually 150-190.

Use the expanders, make normals and that will help increase your line rate

I don't find this unreasonable (sm)
Everyone works differently and what's wrong with someone asking a valid question without someone else jumping on their hind end?

Personally, I'd rather work on line counts than hours because I can easily crank out 2000-3000 lines in less than an 8 hour shift if I'm motivated to do so.

Maybe she would rather work hours and not have to stress over how many lines she's cranking out.

We're all pretty much based on production so if she wants to do 5000 lines a week one week and 2000 lines the next and she finds a company willing to allow her to take on an account that's flexible, who are the rest of us to say she's trying to take advantage?

It's her paycheck and her job.
I don't think it unreasonable. I know lots of MTs
who don't have their own computer - which seems stupid to me, but they don't.  If you get company provided computer then if there is a problem it is their responsibility.  The deposit basically ensures that you return the equipment.  I've seen more than one post where an MT will get equipment and never do any work, they just wanted a new computer.
Your concern is 'not' unreasonable
It's just that no one on the board here can really verify one way or the other if there is a real problem. I realize you just want others to say what type of counter they use to see if another program squares with TTs figures or yours.

If it makes you feel any better, I have taken note of your concerns. If I spot a discrepancy I will let you know (after advising TT of course), but frankly - the amount of discrepancy appears to be just a few dollars. It took me a long time to find TT and overall they are a good company, so for 'me' it would not be worth arguing over - especially since they are adamant they are counting fairly...

It seems to me after all this discussion that the would immediately seek out and fix any true deficiency with the counter...

but then what do I know?
Seems really unreasonable to lump the "slackers" in with hardworking MTs
and in doing so penalize the hardworking MTs with lousy wages to cover up for the slackers.

There are slackers and losers in every single walk of life, every country, and in every business. To lump every AMERICAN MT into the American pieces of wasted breath pile as you have and also the OP is ludicrous.

There ARE American MTs out there like me who work seven days a week, put in huge production totals with no errors, and who work HARD to support themselves and their families.

Instead of giving away our work maybe the companies should get rid of the dead weight, instead of selling out our business and our country.
No one gets 3000 line a day!
No way!
3000 lines at 3 cpl $90

First off, you need to get 3000 lines worth of work to make the money.  IF you manage to get 3000 lines worth of work to make 90 bucks per day, then you've had a good day.  Most do not have good days.  IF you can make 3000 lines within the 8 hours without compromising quality that's okay too, but IF you have to run audio at full speed and you’re listening to a chipmunk on speed, then that's not good for the doctor, the patient, or for you as a transcriptionist.

I almost forgot, Uncle Sam needs his cut of that 90 bucks and depending what state you live in.........he has a health appetite and takes a big bite out of it.  The one thing that gets me through the day these days is the joy of retirement within the next year and a half.

2500 deductible
Does this still have the 2500 deductible? Doesnt pay copays to doctor visits either?
3000 each day? Wish I was young again-LOL - good for you!
nm
Is this consistent 3000 lines per day
I have hit 3200 lines on a secondary ER account, but not on a consistent basis because the work ran out.  This was also working overtime on a VERY easy account with very good normals.  It is my understanding that this account no longer exists.
I use DOS Meditech and get 2500 lines per day. sm
Use your Expanders for everything. Once you are used to it, it is as easy or even easier to get lines as any other program out there.

Okay what is great money? $2000-3000 a PP
TIA
And their office in India employs over 3000 MTs.

Anyone see the $2500 signon bonus with eSmartMed? Do you

Just curious.

I wrote to the address MS McNair gave but got an autoresponder telling me she is out on vacation and if I need help to contact my account manager or supervisor.  LOL

I wrote to point out the NUMEROUS spelling errors on their website.

WAY! The closest I have come is 2700 but I do know a couple of ladies that have hit 3000. nm

Big difference between 2000 and 3000 lines per shift.
nm
Wow .. if I could do 2000-2500 lph, I'd be living next door to the Rockefellers. nm :-)

Notice the "up to $2500" - sounds like a catch - be careful with this one
nm
is the deductible for insurance still 2500 bucks w/ no copay for doc visit?
That is the sole reason I quit. That and the fact they switched me from account to account as soon as I started making a decent line rate with one.

They also have the ability to slow down how fast you can download files. They slipped and told me that it was to help control traffic on the server.
I was told several new accts are coming on this month and also next month, so
I'm not worrying.
Pay period goes from 1st of the month to the 15th, then 16th to the end of the month. sm

So, I guess you could maybe get by with less than 1000 a day, although the incentive tier would make it worth your while to do a bit more.  I am using ExText, and yes, I find it easy to use, but then I used it for a year with another company.  I think their other platform is Mongoose, and I know nothing about that, so really cannot say.

Yes, they are hiring now.  In fact, there is a $500 sign-on bonus.  I think it is all just acute care.  I'm sure they would love to have someone with your experience.  Rhonda Durham is the recruiter.  I am sure she could answer any of your questions.  I am happy to help too, if I can, but I am relatively new.  The account I am working on is mostly psych, it seems, and I am loving it.

Another nice thing, their benefits start after 60 days, not 90 like most.

Good luck to you.

TransHealth starts 1st day of month after month SM
you start, BC/BS, good rate on single, don't know about family premium.
Last month was slow on my account..but this month (sm)
we've been swamped...
The new insurance is very reasonable. I pay $200/month and they pay $200/month. sm
Unfortunately, I have had to use it a lot since it changed and I am very happy. They have covered everything.

The insurance is actually $80 cheaper per month than I paid at the local hospital, which is a large employer.

$$ per month

I am trying to compare nationals versus working at a hospital.  Please respond if you have time.

For all of you working for a national, what do average making per month?  How many hours per day?  Do you work for one doctor, a clinic, or a hospital?

I, personally, would like to make $2500 to $3000 per month but don't.  Is that unrealistic?  Currently, I only average around $1800 and this is with no benefits; I have flexibility but no benefits.

What transcripton platform do you guys find to be the most productive for you?

I realize you can't have everything, but you do have to live; also, I am trying to stay home because of my son, i.e., taking him to school, being there for school functions, sport's activities, etc.

$$ per month
I make around 5-6K per month and have done so for 4 years running. I work around 45 hours a week with rotating accounts. I do get a high line rate of 12.5 per 65-character line.
A MONTH! What do they tell you when you
call or email them? I'm not waiting a month. I was hoping to get started this week as it is a new pay period and all. Wow. Good luck to you.
about a month

Exactly - that's why every month...sm
when they post the anniversaries there are plenty of employees with the company with 1-27 year anniversaries.
In my second month with MW on EXT..sm
I have had very few issues. For the most part the sound quality is good. A couple bad docs but that is par for the course for a facility that size. Several ESL but some of them are better than the English-speaking I have done in past! I have had no issues making lines if I stay on-task **grin** I am happy I went with them. Hope this helps.....
Been there almost a month now -sm
I don't mind it at all. It didn't take me long to get used to everything. I did get paid and I think fairly. I check my line counts in my own way and I've found them to be perfectly accurate.

Every job is going to have difficult dictators. You know what they say, there's one in every crowd (okay maybe with doctors, there's more than one), but you'll have that anywhere.

They're extremely professional and treat you the same. I agree with the other poster, don't expect anybody to hold your hand there. So if you can stand on your own 2 feet, go for it.
P.S. I pay about $200/month

for two people and this is the highest end insurance (BC/BS PPO) through my hospital.

I was with them for about a month and during that month
I had maybe one week of work. The rest I was out. Pay was so so. QA was a little strange about fixing things that were not wrong to begin with (changing six weeks to six week when it should have stayed weeks). I am still puzzling over that one. Anyway, more often than not, QA was wrong, but you could not tell them that.
it's the 1st of the month after your - sm
90 days are up.   So if you got hired Feb 15 then your insurance would kick in on June 1
Just in the last month
there was a post here about someone not being paid. My experience is from a couple of years ago, but in the two years since, I've seen posts here from time to time from people complaining about not being paid. Search the posts from the last month...you'll see someone just complaining about not being paid by them.
$26/month -- nm

I got one of those too a month ago or so
I believe this is from the same joint that is recruiting for the sQuid. I was tempted to look into it at the time but I had heard that the health insurance benefits offered by *S* had gone down the crapper. If you're interested, I'm sure you have nothing to lose. It would be nice if you could get job details without having to spend hours on testing first.
Was she AC for only a month or somebody else?
?
last month it was

Transtech was the greatest. This month's featured flavor -- Keystrokes. I am getting whiplash watching the stampede from place to place.

Been there just over a month
and I LOVE it. My production has doubled from that of my old job (I am now doing at least 2500 lines a shift). The pay is always on time and is direct deposited. I have a great ER account and always have tons of work. They did get a ton of new accounts recently, and that is why the have been hiring lots. I would recommend them to anyone.
I pay less than $200 a month
Hospital employee status through Diskriter. Different plans with different rates are available (depending on which hospital), but I have the most expensive choice available from my hospital(PPO).
that would be *A* month. sorry
a
RC-pay is once a month
Pay is once a month.
They had an ad about a month ago I believe.
5 cpl at Medquist as a new MT grad - so people say!
