No one gets 3000 line a day!
No way!
i could do 2500 to 3000 on ER too
You have life in the easy lane... ER docs, the same 10-20 at most day in and day out.. Try basic 4 with antiquated platforms (meditech) and 2000-5000 dictators to try and get a handle on.
3000 lines at 3 cpl $90

First off, you need to get 3000 lines worth of work to make the money.  IF you manage to get 3000 lines worth of work to make 90 bucks per day, then you've had a good day.  Most do not have good days.  IF you can make 3000 lines within the 8 hours without compromising quality that's okay too, but IF you have to run audio at full speed and you’re listening to a chipmunk on speed, then that's not good for the doctor, the patient, or for you as a transcriptionist.

I almost forgot, Uncle Sam needs his cut of that 90 bucks and depending what state you live in.........he has a health appetite and takes a big bite out of it.  The one thing that gets me through the day these days is the joy of retirement within the next year and a half.

Is this consistent 3000 lines per day
I have hit 3200 lines on a secondary ER account, but not on a consistent basis because the work ran out.  This was also working overtime on a VERY easy account with very good normals.  It is my understanding that this account no longer exists.
2500 to 3000 a month is not unreasonable. SM
I do about 2000-2500. It depends on the work type. I like OP notes (if I am fortunate enough to get them). ERs would be nice too, but haven't done those in years. I work for MQ.
I have made $2500-3000 for a national, but....
I have to work seven days a week 12-15 hours a day to do that and end up having no life and no benefits. I am giving this up and going to work for a local hospital. I know that at first I will not make the same, but it is worth it to me to go to work for 8 hours and be done instead of dragging it out up to 15 hours a day and not making that much less. Actually, over 8 hours in a hospital I do make more than working 8 hours at home. It makes me tired and grouchy and my family is tired of me being at home like that. I feel so much pressure every day trying to make a decent line count and it just takes too long. I want to get a life..
Okay what is great money? $2000-3000 a PP
TIA
And their office in India employs over 3000 MTs.
abba dabba
You must be very young and your wish list
seems very unrealistic. I think a matched 401k is great and something we all need. You seem to want a lot, what are you giving back to the company for all the wishes? A dedicated employee, one who supports the company and doesn't backbite, one who works any and all OT when they need help? Why do MTs feel they deserve anymore than what they agree to when they take a job? I hope you can find all you wish, but I think it's a fantasy in reality.
You sound really young.
I can overlook your statements on that account.
Jan, you sound very, very young. sm
Also, I didn't know Xanax made people abstain from alcohol. LOL!!!
I usually average anywhere between 2500-3000 lines per shift
at KS.
WAY! The closest I have come is 2700 but I do know a couple of ladies that have hit 3000. nm

Big difference between 2000 and 3000 lines per shift.
nm
Hun! How young are you. How long you been MT'ing.
I know it is possible, but I can promise you as the years keeping on passing you will slow down...16-17 hours a day for 6 days a week? What life?
No, I'm not that young, but I am a newbie. Thank you for the info.
.
I beg ur pardon, young lady!
I was NOT being sarcastic! Medquist truly IS my best company - my previous company paid $9/hr. and at the Q I make $25 - U may open mouth and insert foot now, missy!
If they point, I suppose she's young.
x
Yeah, and she's probably young and cute too! LOL (nm)

Grandchildren keep me young. I have had 2 FT this summer (sm)
and occasional trips to town for teenaged grandson who has stayed at home this summer. Sometimes it is hectic and I feel stressed getting my hours/lines in, but then I take my mother to the Senior Center and watch all those people with so little to occupy their time and I feel really lucky.

During school year the 2 youngest still catch the bus here and come here after school. I am able to adjust my schedule so I can attend school functions/lunches during the day if their mom can't.

There may be a lot of problems with MT work anymore, but these are the reasons I and many other stay with it.

I'm afraid I'm 2 young 4 andropause, missy!

"making some young white hotshot"

Wow....and I thought I had issues!

I worked for a guy who owned a landscape nursery who was just like that though...He was younger than most everyone there and couldn't have weighed 90 pounds soakin' wet AND he had to look up at all of us (barely made 5 feet!)...it was so hard to keep a straight face when he got all upset and pissy over something.  You'd never see him walking around his domain to keep an eye on things...uh oh.  He'd be tooling around in his Bobcat shouting orders from over a bullhorn.  Oh my god it was a riot!

To be fair to the above poster, $11/hour gross is kinda low though, so I can see how someone would be tweeked at that.

There are young children who have hearing issues
from babies on up. Why do you think this is age discrimination and why would you say sue?
Thank you, I am young. Do NOT drink alcohol if you take Xanax, dummy..
MT advanced to a recruiter, LMAO !

They snowballed you. The owner is a young man who inherited the business. sm
He has no transcription background, although that does not always matter.

Most of their accounts are Meditech. They are fairly small, with about 80 MT's.

No negative feedback on them so far, which is always a plus.
More elderly would have health problems than young people... sm
Although anyone can be sick... yes, this slants the bias against older Americans.
I said that I do 1600+ per day. Most days, I am over 2500-3000 lines per day. 1600 is the personal
I do not work overtime except very, very occasionally. I use my Expanders and know my account inside out. It IS possible no matter how many people try to say that it is not. I rarely post here because I see people chopped to pieces when they say they make good money, no matter who they work for. It is as though only the negative voices are heard here.
The best co. ever! Good work, good people, good pay, good bennies.
x
Yes there is! Good pay and good bonuses and good benefits.

Personally, DSG is a good fit for me. Pay is good and on time, sound quality depends on the account
and I like the platform. There is not much weekend work, although sometimes is available.  I get along well with the management, no major complaints.  There is pay incentive once you get over a certain number of lines in a pay period.  I work as an IC, so can't help with benefits, insurance questions, etc.
I'm with them. Good work environment, easy accounts and I'm making really good money. nm

Fairly flexible but they do like a schedule. Insurance is good. Benefits are good in my opinion.

For the past week, work has been a little slower but I think that is common in every company..some days busy and other not.

Does anyone recommend a pretty good company that is good to work for, pay always on time and plenty
of work.  I know that is asking a lot, but just curious?
Strictly IC, good company, hard accounts, good platform.
Good pay, always on time, no direct deposit though.
Is Transcend a good company with a good platform to work on. They are advertising.
:
Webmedx hires some ICs. Good company. So sorry for your loss. Good luck!
x
TransTech for many reasons, good pay, stable company, good benefits
and flexible.
I have looked around the last 6 months and have found nothing better. Have turned down numerous jobs, and have finally decided to stay put. The better insurance plans were announced and even moreso than ever, I am staying put, and my paycheck is happy about that because it is getting better every day. Good luck to you.
TransTech is a good company. Debbie is the owner and a good one at that! nm
n
Good company, great people, good benefits.
Affordable insurance. Good luck!
Adminstrative Assistants and VanBelkum. Good companies, good pay!
x
Spheris supes/QA are good, insurance not good; they offshore
nm
U.S. only, very steady work, some VR, good pay, good insurance, no PT, schedule. sm
That should cover it!
Things are not good there now. Think only hiring for 2nd and 3rd shiifts. Good luck. nmx

Had the same happen here, heard the same thing, good references and good ....sm
job record will get you better $$$ if you are willing to promote yourself, search like crazy, talk to everyone, etc., but I have never been paid a cent more for CMT, what a waste, and all the years I paid my dues to AAMT, what a joke, they did NOTHING to better our field, just took the money for better conventions, as far as I can see.
Good owners, average-low pay, good dictators sm

Send out checks the next business day after they receive the bill.  Only work when you want.  It's a nice p.r.n. position.

I know JLG and they are a good company with a good group of people

I joined JLG about 9 month ago and I am thrilled with the experience that I have had.  Although the company has been around for 20+ years, a group of good industry veterans who know how to operate fairly to both employees and clients have joined the company in the past year.  I followed my manager from another giant company.

I have also worked on this account and it was plauged with problems from the start.  The hospital required the account to be implemented in a matter of days, there were technical issues and the hospital management staff was new and the employees were mad because transcription had been outsourced.  Personally, I won't miss this client but good luck to those that get it.

There is plenty of work at JLG and I have already been advised on my new assignments

DSG is a good company. The sound quality is good sm
but I don't understand why they are hiring. In the a.m. was have NO work. The afternoon and evenings do have more work though.
Some of the offices were good and some not so good (like MQ). For the most part it was a
The owners were shady characters and they were forced to sale.
Good luck and good nerves. sm
I hope you do well.  I would rather have a root canal than drive a bus around with the rowdy kids around here, my gosh, they get in fights all the time, the bus driver has to return the bus to school.  You are probably from a better area, but they would have to pay me big, big money.  Good luck to you though.
I would give them a try, you hear good and bad, but mostly good. nm
x
Good for you! I have done that several times......Good luck to you. nm
