Thanks. I want to make an informed decision if I proceed with them. As everyone, you get tired of wasting your time on companies that are not worth it so I'm doing a little research on this one. Can anyone help??

ScribeRight, good, bad or indifferent...
Can anyone tell me about ScribeRight? I checked the archives. Seems some like the company and others don't. Can anyone who works for them or has worked for them expand on this a bit? Is the owner really that picky?
Anyone have experiences with Diskriter or Med-Scribe out of Fl that they could share.
Good to work for, good accounts, platforms and so forth. Anything that would help me make an informed decision. Nothing is worse than taking a job only to find out it is a nightmare. Been there and done that. Any help would be appreciated.
New or recent info on Med-Scribe ??

Sign on bonus and a 12 hour window to get work done in.  Slightly suspicious here, what is the catch?

Any fairly recent Med-Scribe information?

I don't see anything more recent than 6/05 in the archives.  I think this one is in Floriday, but don't know for sure.  Web site sounds great.

Anyone have experience with Med-Scribe in Florida?
Was thinking about a position with them. Does anyone have any experience with this company? Are the good to work for? I just want to know before I go any further. All info, good or bad, would be appreciated!
Anyone have any experience with Med-Scribe (FL) and/or etransplus? SM
I need to choose which one, tia.
Anyone willing to share their experience with SOAP
Transcription? I'm interested in platform, amount of work, expander, etc. Thank you!
Please share your experience with floreclosure. nm

Yes, recent experience
I applied in late August, but it took until just a week ago to receive passwords to work.

Very hands off management in my opinion, although very polite on phone. I think there is just not enough staff.

Also, very low error rate threshhold , but currently no QA and/or no way to flag a report. I was very very uncomfortable with the set up so I did not proceed.

YOU; however, might have better luck. :)
Anyone here working for Medivoxx that can share experience with them? nm

Any MDI-MD employees care to share their experience? sm
Could anyone share their experience from training to being released on their account and the workflow?  Is there plenty of work.... On Bayscribe is the work pooled or you pick and choose the work?  My account will be out of Washington, D.C. (SH)
My recent experience with them was horrible.
There are a couple of MW cheerleaders here who bash me every time, but there are far better companies out there. They offshore. The sound quality and ESLs suck, for lack of a better word. I got ZERO QA feedback. They send out tons of emails and documents that don't even apply to everyone. They were completely rude and unhelpful to me.
Anyone have any recent experience with Encompass MT? sm

Any information would be appreciated.  They sent me a card in the mail, extolling their virtues, but I have never heard of them.

TIA

Anyone have any recent experience w/Continuum?
They are out of Syracuse, NY.  The most recent postings in the archives are from 2006.  Would love to hear pros and cons of the company.  I am looking for full-time employee status/benefits.  Thanks!
I have had recent experience with FI and I would suggest
you give them a try.  Their techs are overseas but much many of their MTs and accounts are here.  The work I QA'd was done by American MTs - I've done both so I know.  Like another poster down below tho - I would never give notice somewhere else - I would try both for a while and then make the change to one if you truly like it - it will only take a week to 10 days for you to find out if you like it.
Recent hospital experience
My MIL is very ill and has been admitted to the same hospital ER and nephrology unit 6 times in the July/Aug. The staff comes in with that computer for EMR and they ask her the same questions over every time. I keep laughing at them and telling them, why don't you just pull up her past history from last time and not put her through this again? They seem unable to do this. What a joke.
Anyone with recent experience with Sten-Tel
out of Massachusetts? Found some old posts, but nothing very recent. TIA!
Anyone work for Milner in Atlanta who would share your experience? Thanks! nm

Any OSI radiology MTs care to share your experience with this company?
.
I don't think it is acting like a spoiled child to share your experience...
the original poster asked the question, we are just sharing our side of the story...
I transcribe FT and teach PT because I WANT to share my knowledge and experience with sm
others getting into this line of work. If you do not make $45,000 to $50,000 in transcription, you either are not very good or not very dedicated. It is easy and I do that in 6 hours a day with a 30-minute lunch.

Anyone have any recent experience with SoftScript? Wonder if the changes have really helped. nm
xx
MedScribe,Jacksonville - any recent experience
Anyone here work for MedScribe in Jacksonville? Looking for current info, the good, the bad, and the ugly, lol!

Thanks in advance.
Anyone work for Spheris doing VR? Could you share experience, pay, line count etc..
Also, what are the benefits like i.e., medical insurance etc??
Anyone with work experience to share on All Type? Choice time once again.....sm
and very happy holidays and merry christmas to everyone out there!  TIA!
Anyone with RECENT experience w/ Zylomed? I understand they have changed ... sm
upper management a couple of times and am wondering how it is to work there now . Thanks!
Anyone currently work for All Type or have recent experience with the company? sm

I'm currently exploring my options, and was impressed with the $1000 signon bonus offered, but wondering about the usual things -- quality and quantity of work available, pay on time, etc.

Any input would be appreciated.

While I'm indifferent about a union ...
... I take pretty big issues at some of your points.

First of all, it seems to be a catch-all idea that you can tell someone to start their own company or quit bitching about the way things are. And that's just not right.

Basically, what you're saying is that people don't deserve decent treatment if they're employees - only if they're willing to start their own company and treat their employees a certain way.

It's completely devaluing the input and contribution of workers and it's a quick way to try to make a person feel like they're not worth fair treatment as they are. It's unproductive and tired.

Secondly, while I don't make slave wages (or even close to), I do (we all) have to make some pretty huge concessions to do what we do.

Not many other professions in the United States asks you to:
1. Sit for hours while waiting for work, and being unpaid for it.
2. Flex hours on a whim to bend to their needed schedules, all while being unpaid for the hours that may be missed.
3. Carry out extra work (such as calculating line counts, tallying time sheets, paperwork, company emails) and being completely unpaid for that, as well.
4. Flatly refusing to give raises or to pay relative to experience.

I'm sure there are more things out there, but I'm too tired to think of the negatives right now.

I was just talking to my mother the other night about how, when I started in MT 12 years ago, the average company paid 7 to 8 cents per line. Two years into my career, I found an IC position that paid 13 cpl.

The majority of companies still start people (regardless of experience) at 7 to 8 cpl. And if I ever found an IC job that paid 13 cpl at this point, I'd weep with joy. This is certainly not in keeping with inflation, and I can see how some of the slower typists could really struggle.

My opinion on whether or not we need a union is pretty noncomittal. I haven't really thought about it.

But our profession DOES need regulations, so that we can perhaps FINALLY get the respect that the majority of us deserve. This means that we, as transcriptionists, have to be on the ball. And it means the MT companies will have to start recognizing the importance of transcriptionists to their livelihood. It will mean respect on both ends, and it won't be a lot of fun, but it will change this profession for the better - and most of it in the name of patient care.

With so many different jobs switching to a work at home type situation, it's time for us ALL to cast off the guilt we have that keeps us justifying our treatment with well, at least I get to work at home ...

And I rambled. I'm sorry. I should stop typing now, especially since these snowflakes are slowing my computer down from a typical 130 wpm to what feels like 7. Heh.

Good for you. I hope you share your positive feelings
towards that company on this board then. People are only stating their opinions. If they have a bad one, that's their choice. All you can do is share your opinion that's good. However, if you don't share that opinion and simply jump on to tell everyone else to stop complaining, you're really not helping things.
Nothing good. Recent post says you get
paid when they get paid.
recent post are very good but

if you go back aways, yikes. I am always concerned when this happens.  Raises the question of concerted effort to rehab a company's rep. Proceed with eyes open, I would say.

Softscript for Recent Grad Good?

Recently graduated from 1 of the Big 3 & SoftScript offered me a position.  Mixed reviews from what I saw - anyone have an opinion on them considering I have no experience yet?  They are offering 7 cpl.  TIA.

Sofscript for Recent Grad Good?
I would warn anyone off from working for SoftScript (SS). I worked for them for a whole two weeks (middle management) and couldn't stand the owner or JG (his counterpart who actually runs him and the business).

My experience with this company would warrant my saying RUN, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN.

all OSI info is old in archives. Anything recent good/bad?

mostly -- are the lines an absolute bear to get; i.e., will I have to work 12 hours a day to get 1000 lines?  Or do they seem fairly fair won?

Thanks

Do a search. Lots of recent stuff--good and bad. nm

No recent info on Execuscribe, anyone work for them, is there pay any good?

Thinking on a career move, going with them FT, but would not like to waste time testing if pay is lousy.  14+ years with acute care.

Thanks so much in advance!

DeVenture versus Encompass. Plesae share if you have any information on these companies, good, bad,
or indifferent I need to make a change, but like everyone in this biz, you dont want to jump from the fire into the frying pan, so to speak. Thanks in advance for any information.
Would like to hear from recent WEBMEDX employees. Good/bad/ugly? (nm)

Lots of recent info here, and definitely not all good. Search the boards. nm

My experience with them has been good sm
Their expectations for style are given out and I have never had any problems with QA. I rarely have to send anything to QA and when I do on occasion, I never get direct feedback as you can check your reports at any time for what the blanks were.  I guess if you are doing something incorrect that needs addressed they might do that, but I have never had any negative or nitpicky experiences with them.
Not a good experience
They will keep you on QA for as long as they can.. they even make up mistakes that they state you make.... not a good place to work.
my experience has been good
pay is on time, work is steady, everyone is nice - - some posts have been negative but you will get negative posts about any company you ask about on this board, GOOD LUCK!
I ddi not have a very good experience either sm
Pay was average, but at least on time.  Lots of times not enough work.  You have to be on IM all day and it is very disruptive.  MT World is in my opinion outdated.  There is much better out there.  JMHO
Good experience with them
so far. Lots of work where I am, not saturated with foreign dictators. Platform easy, lines good so far. Lead MT is extremely nice, very down to earth person. I received a welcome card, a really nice personal touch goes a long way.
I have had a good experience...sm

with Webmedx.  I have not received the emails threatening to offshore like the other employee mentioned.  My account always has more work than we can handle...thus the overtime (been on account about 4 months).  As well, I have a secondary account.

I don't dislike the platform.  There are some days when some functions are slower than others, but it has not seemed to have affected my line count.

Full time is 35 hours a week, and handbook states that you will loose benefits if you do not work 35 hours.  You know that going in, and I don't think that is unreasonable.  You'd be expected to work 40 hours if you worked at a job on site.  IMHO, they seem to fair all the way around.  Things might change, but today I am happy. :)   Hope this helps.

Not a good experience for me at all.
I tried working for them.  Nice people to work with.  The problems I encountered was that they used EXText, which was extremely slow running for me and I have a high-speed cable modem.  The pay was only 3 cpl and they expected 100% QA.  With the pay being so low and spending more time sitting there waiting for things to download and open, I wasn't even making minimum wage.  I had no choice but to quit with wages that low.  Apparently, EXText utilizes a VPN connection, which my Cable internet technician told me was probably overloaded with people trying to work all at once, which was the reason everything ran so slowly.  He said there was nothing wrong with my internet speed at all.
My experience has been very good!
I have been with Focus Infomatics for just over a year, and I like it very much indeed. Pros are good, flexible, knowledgable supervisors, direct deposit (has never been late), Escription platform (best I've used), flexible schedule, good feedback, fair QA'ing. Only con I can think of is sometimes the work flow is slow, but by asking for more work I almost always have all I need. I recently converted from IC to full-time to qualify for health insurance (their BCBS plan is excellent). When I started there I was told the editing/transcription ratio is about 80/20, which is about right, though it varies from day to day, of course. Again, the Escription platform is very easy to use. My supervisor is great; polite, helpful. I realize Focus may not be right for everyone, but then again, everyone is not right for Focus. BTW, I have been an MT for over 20 years and this is the best company I've ever worked for.
I did not have a good experience with them. sm
I went backwards to archaic ways with phone lines and lanier stations. There was never enough work on my huge account. Never work on my secondary or third accounts either. Tried the on-line accounts, and no work there either.

When I did get a few reports, the line count was terrible on Bayscribe and the spellchecker sucked!

I gave it a couple of weeks, was off QA the first 5 reports; however, I knew in the first day or two, this was not going to work out. But, I gave it a chance and it was not a good experience.

I could not stand all the no so positive e-mails daily either.

This was just my experience. Not a good fit for me!
My experience was not good...sm
I agree with the OP that most companies have good and bad points. I enjoyed most of the people I worked with/for at KS during the 9 months I was there. But when the work on my account slowed down I then started getting one backup account after another where the work would last only briefly. I was trained on 4 different platforms while there. There was some dishonest communication, and while the intentions may have been good, intentions don't cut it when a person has bills to pay. Once it became clear that they were not being up front with me about workload/accounts, I chose to leave, and I wouldn't go back.  I have since dealt with 3 other companies, all of whom were more straightforward with me (even when the work ran low) than KS was. Just my 2 cents. Wishing you the best of luck.
Good experience sm
I did some IC work on a Urology account about 3 to 4 years ago.  Dictators were good.  Pay was on time.  Good communication.
Overall good experience
The platform I am on is good to very good with regard to audio.
