Different strokes for different folks (or no strokes) sm
I did editing and was a team leader at one point. I lasted 6 months. I was paid hourly, but come on...100 hours every 2 weeks? A couple of times more.

I was paid $15 an hour at that time. I was doing double that as an MT. The choice was work half the hours for the same money, or work the long hours. It was extremely stressful too because the MT manager was well...difficult and had issues.

I know that most MTs probably don't make $30 an hour at 9 cents a line, but I generally do. I can do it at 8 cents too, if I have right account and setup. I know I am fortunate, but I have worked for it too. Some of us have carpal tunnel, ulnar tunnel, tennis elbow and arthritis that make long hours of typing painful. Some of us really know our stuff with the BOS and terminology, but using it AND typing long hours may not work well. If you don't make very good money MTing, but you know what you are doing and the BOS is your best friend, you may like editing a lot better.

In the end it is a personal decision. It is not something I ever want to do again, and I doubt I'll have the opportunity in any case. I have looked at editing positions and when the recruiter asks me about speed and how many lines I can do as an MT, I tell them the truth. They always ask me to MT instead! I have sort of shot myself in the foot here.
Different strokes....
....for different folks....but I personally find the system to be absolutely excellent and the best I've ever used.  I can honestly say there is only one thing I would like to see changed/improved in regards to the system, and it is a very minor thing that only affects you if you are working on a certain account.  Feel free to e-mail me if you like.
Different strokes for different folks.
Of course I realize that no two people are alike, and no two experiences are the same, but I love it at Fast Chart. The platform is really, really easy to use, they don't bother you EVER once you're off QA, and lines are easy to get. I've worked for some crappy companies in the past, and I love Fast Chart! Email me for details if you need to know more.
DIfferent strokes for different folks
I agree with you completely. I am happy as can be at TT. I also took 8.5 cpl after making 0.975 for years. That was the only thing about TT that made me hesitate, but glad I jumped the big Q ship anyway. My income is what it was before all the cesspool and ASR mess there. I am not miserable anymore. Now to some people money is the bottom line. They don't need to feel appreciated. I had a major family crisis after being with TT for only a month. They could not have been nicer about it. I could go on and on, but I won't. I could have written your post. Been an MT for 20+ years, have never worked for nicer people. It works for me, but maybe not for others. I just hope everybody finds what they need in a company. Have a blessed day everyone!
Diiferent strokes, folks...! sm
I'm at DRC and couldn't be happier (after nine years with MQ.) The minimum Keystrokes per day work out to just less than 1000 lines per day--not difficult at all.

As for the little notes that pop up on your screen, I love them! My last little note from QA said Good job with Dr. XYZ! Heck, I'll let them interrupt my day for five seconds to give me a little pat on the back--(and it was a lot better feedback than what I'd been getting from MQ before I left!)

The DRC platform is MT-friendly--more productive than DEP--and I've never had such a great support system as with my transcription manager and QA. I LIKE daily communication and a clue about work flow and what I'm doing right and wrong.

Sorry that you had a bad experience with DRC. My experience has been just the opposite...and they don't offshore!

Rml pe - right middle lobe pulmonary edema all in a few strokes.

Is MDI-MD affiliated with the other
MDI in Florida? It seems that one has an excellent reputation and the other not so good.
Leeperfect Co. SM

Does anyone know anything about Leeperfect Transcription Co - going to take a test with them and wondering if anyone has worked for them before?  Would appreciate your input - thank you.

Does anyone know anything about LeePerfect MT or QA nm

LeePerfect
Great company to work for.
LeePerfect
They used to be a good company to work for. They used to pay top rates. Recently I heard some MTs were asked to take pay cuts. Also the management has changed - same owner but everyone else jumped ship. They nag incessantly if work is late. You pay $10 per check ($240 a year) for benefit of direct deposit. My last 4 checks working for them were coming later and later. Last one was about 10 days late. I feel I got out at a good time. Be very careful.
LeePerfect
I like it. Mainly clinic work. I believe you set your own schedule as long as you work when you say you will. Dictators vary, some are good, some are hard.
Oh know ... they're not affiliated in anyway with

our un-MQ affiliated DocQscribe does
I work for a company using DocQscribe, but are in no way associated with MQ.  We can very easily access old reports after QA and/or transmission to the hospital -- very helpful.
You DO NOT want to be affiliated with that one! Can you say whack job?
nm
Yes, I'm sure it was LeePerfect. I worked for them sm
for several years, left and came back and now left again. I actually was going to work for a manager that went off on her own to form a company called Oxygen Transcription but it never took off from what I know. LM is very volatile and hard to deal with. I had so many pay problems that I was pulling my hair out. I liked my account, so it was hard to leave but I am a newly-single mom and had to get a steady paycheck. I have two friends there still. One has had problems, one has never, so I am not sure what is what with that, just that it happened to me.

LeePerfect Transcription

This company is a great company to work for.  Always pays ON TIME!!!  Plenty of work and they will pay you what you are worth!!  Fantastic QA team!!!

I believe so.

I've worked there for awhile now and the owner is very pleasant to work for and the QA team is very supportive. No, I am not in management. They pay you on time, every time. There is ALWAYS work. Just wanted to spread the word when there is a great company to work for because there are so many that ARE NOT!
Is TransTech affiliated with Heartland?
nm
No, not affiliated in any way. I work for the one in FL, and they are very good. nm

Isn't their testing site affiliated with
Career Step somehow? I wonder if Focus gets something for people signing up with their school.
LeePerfect doesn't pay for spaces now?!
They better give you about a 30% raise in your line rate to account for that!
So is LeePerfect still paying for spaces, or just VBC?
x
would I work for LeePerfect or Karen Sorensen. nm
nm
Are you or are you not affiliated with Webmedx? If so, please explain your failure to pay policy sm
as noted in one of the previous postings, for MTs who fail to meet 98% or above. That's not a Webmedx policy, is it? Please post your response here, rather than email.
Which is great to work for LeePerfect or KeyStrokes? They are different, aren't they? nm
nm
Where are they rated high??? They're Indian affiliated. 'Nuff said. nm

I thought ATSI was affiliated with Zylomed..That would be strange, wouldnt it. .
I'd check on that if I were you.
Net search shows ChipSoft Infotech PVT. LTD, at least Indian affiliated, if not
s
Speaking of CBay, do they still have Elite Global aka Echo affiliated with them? Just wondering..nm

I can speak for AccuSTAT Wisconsin. It's not affiliated to any other AccuSTAT.
I've been with AccuSTAT Wisconsin now for 9 years and I wouldn't work anywhere else. The work is acute care (basic 4), mostly ops and ER work. The work is done thru C-phone or VXP software.

I've been with the company almost 10 years. I know the truth. Hawaii was a company-paid vacation.
.
They do not offshore. The owner's original company was bought by MQ; started a new company, whic
That's about all I know. I would give them a try. They sounded good!
Great company. I've been recommending this company for a long time.
x
Must be a small company. I have never talked to the owner of the company I work for. sm
He wouldn't have time. Why would someone talk directly to the MTSO? Most do not know (or care) about the details just the big picture.
I hope my company flies under the radar. This is horrible what happens to one company sm
after another on this board.  The owners must have very thick skin.  First TT, then Amphion, now Keystrokes.  No one is safe.  I hope everyone takes all they read with a grain of salt.  I have met a few of the owners of the some of the bigger services, and they are all very nice, including those that own Webmedx, Keystrokes, Execuscribe, Medware, MDI and Transcend.  I hate to think how they feel when they read things on here, even though they all say they don't read the posts here and advise against it.  I don't know how they don't read them; I look just to make sure that no one mentions mine.
Maybe QA made the decision, not the company, and the company managers are not aware of it. sm
I started with a company that did the same thing. When I went to the manager outside of QA, she fixed it right away. Turns out that the QA manager had made a decision to do that and had not told anyone else.

It does make sense to do that though. Find out if it is a few days or longer and base your decision on that.

Can we ask which company or at least which state they're out of?

Unfortunately, I am going to be looking AGAIN due to offshore.
or maybe it's really a good company. Give me a break. If a company isn't talked about sm
on here, good or bad, it's probably too small to matter and does not offer benefits or anything at all.
Ask insider if her company is in position to take on MTs from other company who are familiar
:+
Loyalty has nothing to do with it until you find the company for you. Be loyal to THAT company.
:p
Let me know if you pursue this company. I would like to work for a MN company as an employee?
Let me know! Thanks!
Chasing work from company to company - Have any of you ever watched (sm)

5 year olds learning to play soccer?  The ball is in play and no matter what the coahes say ALL the kids go running for the ball.  Maybe we are like that, masses of us going from company to company in search of work.  This company has a new account BOOM here we go.  Now it is out.  Let's go here.

Yep, I think it is a big game someone is playing with us.  Not a particularly funny one either.

Why would you want to work for a company with no QA? Anyways the only company that comes to mind is
I worked for in the past which is Medquist NJ Radiology.
Love this company - want to retire with this company...sm
Been with them for nearly 2 years now and absolutely love them. I make my living with them - I don't do this for fun money. I think the dictators are pretty decent - you will always have your good and bad ones. You just have to get used to them. I love the account I am on - been with the same one since I started. They are a VERY fair company to work for.
They are not a Fortune 500 company. They are a past INC 500 company. There is a
HUGE difference.

Just FYI ... the article was in the Rochester Business News. It notes that the person charged with everything was the owner's husband, not Linda herself. It was something that was done at the company that he worked for, not Execuscribe. If their biggest client is going to fill-in reports, I am sure they will bounce back and get something else. I doubt they do not know that it is happening. Any MTSO worth her/his salt keeps an ear to the ground AND has enough contact with their accounts to be up-to-date on changes about to happen, good and bad.

Perhaps you should not be so smug and instead focus your energies on figuring out WHY your customers were able to be taken from you. I hardly doubt that a good business person could be an ex-MTSO because of another service. There is too much work out there.

You can' ask a question directly TO a company. About them, yes. The company isn't going to ans

company going to service company or India?
That is a hard thing to be cut back after you are used to that position.  We have a couple of hospitals near here who have turned over all of their work to a Service Company, and one eliminated their department and turned over to India.  I am afraid that the service company may be taking over our work also.  Understand the others kept same pay, but lost most benefits.  Anyone else have this happen to them?
It matters more on the company than the method. Go with a company that does a lot of sm
radiology or it won't matter because you won't have a big check no matter what. Ask them how many radiology accounts they have, if they are overflow or complete department, how long they have had them and do you get a back-up account.

There are very few out there that have good radiology accounts. Stick with the ones that do. I am with Keystrokes for that reason after going with 4 others that kept running out of work.

Small company GREAT COMPANY

Axolotl is a WONDERFUL company with great benefits and competitive pay.  We have maybe 100 MTs but are growing rapidly.
