Which is the reason my company lost a major account.

In Reply to: My company claims the offshore work is excellent. In fact, I - believe QA is being done offshore.

The quality of the work was so poor they didn't renew the contract.

My company lost the account I had worked on for 5 years. Webmedx got the
account so I followed it.   I have interviewed with about a dozen companies the last year and out of all of them the only ones I considered were Keystrokes and Webmedx.
They lost some major accounts, one to
voice recognition and the other was overflow work but still it's gone. THey are hoping site 120 and the clinics that go with it do not work out with voice recognition since a lot of the docs were hard.
Wow, is there a reason they lost so many accounts like this. nm
:
Yes there is a major backlog on that account
nm
I guess this explains part of the reason we keep running out of work. My office lost a lot of huge
accounts in the past year.
Have you tried to go with the account they lost.
:
that account was lost too nm

account lost was....

I started in September as QA2 on TOA, which is the account they lost.  All the files were being done overseas, or at least most of them.  There was only 2 of us QAing all of these and there was always a backlog of 1500+.  The other QA then got fired and there was only me until they hired a few more.  Then was told all work was coming back to US, so they overhired.  TOA is a big account and there was also another service doing them.  More and more, the doctors were going to the other service.  We were all let go on 1/30.

If you are waiting for 1099 from them, I talked to them yesterday and they said the payroll company screwed up and they were getting them today and would send them out today.

How would we know that they lost a huge account? sm
They never communicate with their MTs.
They lost big account. Go to Webmedx with
xx
Somebody must have lost a BIG Account. Feel sorry for MTs (sM)
that might be effected by this.
Anyone know why OSi (GA) lost big account today? (nm)
nm
My experience........they lost the account...sm
this has happened to me so much in the 16 years I have been doing this, when something like what you described happens to me, my first thought IS that the account has gone some place else.
They are not a major company, to say the least. sm
For a small company like that, that is probably a good starting rate.  Where did you graduate from?  Webmedx takes new graduates for more than that.
They lost a huge account in Alabama
to work it.  It was probably one of their biggest accounts and they didn't keep it long.  Beware.
To those complaining about no work because of the lost account...
I wasn't aware that an account was lost because I wasn't on that account. However, instead of complaining about not enough work because an account was lost, you should be thanking DSG for not just up canning your butts! They could have just gotten rid of the ones on that account, but sounds like to me they tried to move you to other accounts in order to keep you on at the company. I guess if you look at it that way, they don't sound so bad, huh? Everyone is always so quick to look for the bad and bash a company and don't think about the other side of things. I'm sure it wasn't their wish to lose that account, but it sounds like to me they are trying to look out for their MTs.
Not much left to sell since they lost big account.nm
nm
Anyone with half a brain knows why they lost the account.
I know why, but I don't understand why.  It is like they did it on purpose.  Why not just sell-out to start with, why let it get to the point that it did and have their name smeared everywhere (let me say justly so).   I know there are still MTs who don't know all the details and I myself probably don't know all of them, but I know lots of details and they aren't pretty.
The account was not lost. It was fired, if that is what you do to accounts that you do not want. s
I have been there for 4 years. They have not lost any accounts but have gotten rid of 3 accounts. One of them was definitely the one you are talking about as it is the only one I ever saw with such blatant cherry picking by hospital staff. They were not even hospital staff; they were hospital employees that were let go and went in to work as ICs.

I have been a lead and stepped down recently due to family obligations.

They continue to grow steadiily and the changes over the years have all been positive. They truly do value their employees and stand strong on no offshore, which is important to me.

I would give them a call if you do not like where you went. Several have found that the grass is not greener and came back. A few were not taken back, but I find them to be fair.

I do not think that the company is perfect (i.e. no downtime pay) but I usually have plenty of work, get paid on time and like the people I encounter. I get asked to work extra, but that should stop now that there are more MTs on my main account.

They do not overstaff; I am very grateful for that.
I lost an account for taking a few days off
and I told them about it way in advance. Came back to find out I was not needed on the account any longer and they took their time finding me another account to work on. So, like previous poster said, what does it matter the reason....they will either keep you or they won't. Be prepared either way.
Not one account lost in over 3 years. You're wrong. sm
They just chose not to bid on one that went to voice recognition but have had 100% renewal on contracts.
not a major company - woman owned
around 100 employees but not positive
You deserve major kuddos! Hope that company (and their editors) appreciate you!
I know I would as an editor!!!
Nice company, but they use the DocQScribe software that MQ uses. Lost too many lines with it, so

I worked for an all US MT company, we lost to offshore. Couldn't compete with their bids, and th
:(
You need to give a reason. Not every company
is a good match for every MT and someone may have had a personality conflict or some such thing so then they say it is a bad company.  You need to list facts like they don't pay on time, their line counts are off, sound quality is terrible, etc.
Another reason is if you have friend at new company to

Seems more of a reason NOT to apply at this particular company.... nm

But if COMPANY is reason cant meet production,

One triple dipper got fired from 1 company, but a different reason
They are too busy conniving how to screw the MT's out of every penny they can.
the reason for the discrepancy has been explained by the owner of the company already - nm

QT lost jobs lost dreams
webmedx is hiring but they may already have enough people, I got a job there last week.  No matter what kind of bull you are hearing from management or otherwise is a lie.  The account is gone, please look for new jobs
Not company, own account. nm

It's just that I work for a company who had an account .... sm
that was partly taken over by Focus.  That is to say, we lost part of that account to Focus.  The platform used is Escription, but my company is not part of Focus.
Probably came out of company funded account.
dinky three
I think we are working for the same company on the same account.
I have a pillow-talking female dictator on my secondary account as well. Little to no work on my primary. It took 40 minutes to transcribe 36 lines with 16 blanks. E-mail me if you want.
I meant company not account

An account/company you are happy with, and the $$
I also live in a remote area.  Can't make as much or have the flexibility elsewhere.
I like my company but I hate my account..nm
xx
The scary part of that is you never know what account you will get when you go with a new company.
That is what worries me most right now leaving my job. I know my accounts. Companies are not always honest about what account you go on and if they have long time MTs they probably have the best stuff so you get what they dont want.
Every account is different. The company is split into departments such as sm
clinic, Basic 4, radiology, ortho, cardiology, ER. Each has different accounts and each account has different specs. I know this sounds vague but you would have to talk to the office because of the differences in TAT, ESLs, etc. For instance, my account is ortho and there are no ESLs on my account. I do two docs only but my friend is radiology and she has dozens of doctors and most of them on her account are ESL (I think she is paid higher).

For insurance, it is health and can be for family. The benefits are OK but I am happy because I have steady work. I would rather have steady work than benefits that can't be achieved.
Sounds like you work for the company/account

I do FT.   I'm 17 hours short this week.  Fortunately there is plenty of work today, my day off.  I won't be able to get any overtime but hopefully I'll be able to make up most of those 17 hours.

I worked on that account with a company other than Transcend.
It was the worst. I was glad to see it go. Sorry for whoever got it.
That doesn't mean it's not a problem account for the company (sm)
It's sometimes in the company's best interests to let an account go if they're too demanding or whatever. Hardly reason to start a panic like they're losing accounts.
If your current company has an acute care account ask them
if you could try it, at least do a few files a day to see how you do.   If you do H&Ps and DS they won't be as technical as Ops or consults.  You should already be familiar with lots of meds and probably a lot of the diagnoses and labs, so there wouldn't be lots of looking stuff on.   If the hospital is a teaching hospital forget all the above because then you will have lots more terminology than you have in clinic, lots of new labs/tests, etc.
Overall it is a good company. Your paycheck, however, depends on the account SM
you have, and your level. I am currently a level 8 with a high number of ESLs. I like Spheris the company though, but dislike my account.
Haysee, What happened to the account? Did the company lose it
or did they go back to bringing it all in house to the hospita?
your company takes overflow or has a primary account
I really have no idea if this applies to your current situation, but when I worked at a hospital and a large MTSO took our overflow, some of the girls I worked with had no qualms about leaving (or perhaps assigning, can't really remember now) the horrible doctors to the MTSO. We had a monitor that showed all the jobs waiting in queue, and they would (or could, anyway) go down the list assigning themselves the good ones, thereby leaving the bad ones to the MTSO. I worked radiology and everything was in-house for that, but I would watch the acute care ladies do this.
Paid for spaces depends on the account. Good company. nm

The account is not bad but it has heavy Hispanic dictators. I worked on it for another company and
get used to it, it is a great account. If you really want a different account, just talk to them. They are really good about switching accounts for people. Call Becky in the office. She is the HIM coordinator now according to her email signature line. She is the best!
