Affordable benefits
Are the benefits affordable?
Benefits are very affordable...sm
Benefits are under 200 biweekly for me, and that includes family gold plan, dental plan, vision plan, and life insurance for my husband and kids.  As well, they provide long and short-term disability, 401K, an some other stuff I don't remember.
Does DSG have affordable health benefits? SM
Any idea on the cost of this?  Thanks, :-)
Companies w/Escription accounts that offer affordable family insurance??
I realize that affordable is subjective so whatever information anyone can give woudl be appreciated. The majority of Escription accounts offer IC only. Thanks
Define affordable? What may be affordable to one person may not be to another. nm

Where are the companies with benefits? sm

I've been seeking work with benefits for a year now.  I have an IC job with crappy pay (5cpl), actually am looking at another IC job now with better pay (7cpl), though not fantastic.  Part of the reason I got into this profession was to work from home and be able to afford health insurance... what a joke!  I don't make enough to pay bills much less health insurance.

I really do wish the schools were more up-front and honest about this profession.  Don't get me wrong, I actually LOVE being an MT, but the hype of 10 cpl with benefits is crap!  Recently I had a woman approach me and ask if it is true she could make 12 cpl with full benefits after a 6-month course.  I told her if she finds that to give me a call!  A school told her this was possible for her to earn from home right out of school.  HA!

Do you have their benefits, and if so, how do they compare to other companies. Thanks

Benefits from transcription companies

I'd like to hear opinions on companies who say they offer insurance to their employees.  Just today I was offered a position by a company who said they offered benefits and then when asking for details, I find out they don't pay a cent toward the monthly premium, it ALL comes out of my pay.  I am sorry folks, but that is not benefits to me.  I may as well be an IC and get my own insurance.  Probably would be cheaper too.  I counter offered to them asking them if I could work IC status and just get a higher line rate........they wouldn't go for it.  Another thing is they require you to type 12,000 lines in a pay period to be eligible for the insurance.  What in the world for?  They are not paying out a red cent toward those benefits so why would it matter how many lines you transcribed if you are paying for the insurance yourself.  This is the first time I have ever heard of something like this and I am pretty ticked about it (I know you can tell).......  In my opinion, there would no benefit at all to being an employee other than they would take your taxes out for you!!!

Are there any companies out there who provide benefits at start....sm
instead of having to wait 90 days?  If so, how are they to work for?
That is true of most companies, not just in transcription. Benefits are usually sm
only for full-time employees. It only makes sense for a business owner to offer to only full-timers; they do not make as much profit on part-timers, so there is less money to spend on those benefits.
What companies have best benefits in terms of PDOs?
Two weeks/10 days PDO is not fair and not enough when you have to use it to cover holidays, vacation and sick leave.  I would think there are companies who can do better than that.  Who are they?
Any companies out there that offer the hospital benefits besides Diskriter
I currently work in-house a hospital but they do not have at-work positions and I would like ot work at home so I wondered if there were other companies and/hospitals that hire at-home MTs with full benefits....besides Diskriter as I have not heard a lot of good news about them and it makes me nervous to apply.
Any companies offering benefits on 35 hrs per week or less except Webmedex? Nm

Are there any companies out there that offer benefits to PT employees, such as health insurance?
I know it's a rarity but I know hospitals do.
Are there any companies who offer health benefits to part time employees?
Need insurance.
Companies are hardly offer FT employees any decent benefits so I think is going to be rare to find
them for PT employees. I would love that too, unfortunately, I work too much just to get below average benefits. Best of luck in your search. Honestly, I think the only place you'll find benefits for part-timers is going in-house at a hospital.
Very affordable!

I have found that Webmedx's insurance is very affordable, more so than a lot of the other MTSOs out there.

okay but is it affordable? for 2?nm

affordable insurance

I work in a hospital which is merging and our department will be outsourced.  I am looking for a job with afforable insurance.  I would have a new job today if not for the cost of family insurance, over $400 every two weeks.  I've only worked in hospitals were insurance is usually around $100 per pay period for the family so $400 came as a huge shock to me.  My husband as some pre-existing conditions so getting a personal policy is out of the question.  Anybody know of a company with afforable family insurance?

Depends on what you consider affordable.
It is expensive, but far less than what you would pay if you went it on your own. Employer picks up at least half the tab, possibly more. I know I would pay around $1200-1500 for my family on my own and right now for a family of 6 I pay a little over $550, but that's pretax so actually it reduces down to the equivalent cost to me of about $460 net. For 6 people, I can't complain.

Also, the insurance is pretty good in my opinion. The dental insurance is awesome and under $30 a pay period for entire family (no pre-pay or deductibles) and everyone in my area takes both the dental and the medical.

Not sure on what you mean by 1 or 10 kids. Aren't most insurances this way? They cover yourself or yourself and spouse or yourself, spouse and children. Haven't seen one where each additional child causes the premium to rise.

You have to type 150 lines an hour to qualify, which is pretty easy if you know anything about MT'ing. Have never ever gotten close to that low amount except when first training, even with multiple unknown accounts once in a while. Haven't heard of the 10,000 lines per pay period before.
What is Medware's pay range and is the ins. affordable? nm

You will not find any affordable family

about the same and very expensive.  Just the insurance market I guess, my husband's company has it available and with both of our incomes it is a large portion of our monthly expenses. Just my 2c, but I have asked every company I have ever interviewed with and today, family insurance rates are just unaffordabe everywhere.

They didnt worry that it would be affordable for the MTs.
you gotta be kidding, lol
Nope, not affordable. At least not when I left. nm
nm
Still not affordable but better than my husband's so we have no choice. sm
His company is $1410 for a family of 4 and none of us have any illnesses or surgeries. Highway robbery.

We pay $710 a month at Keystrokes. Still high but half.
Yes, Webmedx does have very affordable insurance. sm
I pay 145 a pay period for myself and husband for the gold type insurance (which is the best we can get).
How much is the insurance, is it good, affordable?
I really need insurance and don't want to apply if it is not affordable.
Does the company you work for have affordable (sm
health insurance?   Can you share the name of the company on here or via e-mail? TIA.
affordable health coverage

Could anyone one give the names of companies they work for with good health and dental coverage (individual plans) at an afforadable cost?  Any info given is appreciated.  I consider affordable as not too much more than $100 per month---80/20 plans okay, but prefer 100% coverage plans if they are out there with reasonable deductibles.  I know this is a tall order!  It can also be a noncompany plan, if anyone knows of a great insurance company plan outside of the job.  I am 45 and in good health, just borderline hypertensive (if there is such a thing---although it does make my rate go up).

Thanks!

Is Medware's health insurance affordable?

I am looking for either family coverage or just husband and wife coverage.  Any idea of how much their insurance costs?  I remember a while back they had their rates listed on their website and they seemed very reasonable.

Can anyone give me an estimate on how much they pay for their health insurance for family.  This would be for the PPO insurance, as I do not reside in Florida.

Thanks guys!!!

Looking for a company with affordable health insurance.
Anybody work for Proscript or DSG, can you tell me how much you pay for husband and wife coverage?  Thanks so much.
Is WEBMEDX's health insurance affordable?
Can anyone tell me more about their benefits, including the health insurance?  Thanks so much.
Very affordable for individual, high for families, sm
but I think all insurance is high for families. 6 holidays, a few days PTO until you've been there over 6 years. (and they keep changing the PTO yearly).
TransTech - is their insurance affordable? How much do they contribute? sm
For family coverage, about how much is the monthly premium?  Do they pay well?  Do you have to work a set schedule or can you get your lines in within a 24-hour window?  Thanks!
I believe they have several to choose from - affordable and decent coverage, IMO
nm
Axolotl has great affordable insurance!
Their rates are better than any MT company that I know of.
Anybody work for TransHealth as an employee and how do you like it? Is the insurance affordable?
nm
Anyone know of a GOOD company with affordable health insurance?

Hi.  I am a 14+ year MT.  I love the company I am with but they offer NO benefits whatsoever.  Does anyone know of a company that is looking for a dependable MT that offers reasonably priced health insurance and would give at least 9-1/2 cents a line (which is what I am getting now). Any help would be greatly appreciated.  THANK YOU!

I have single coverage - affordable - but don't know about family. Call them.
nm
TransTech and Medware, are these companies considered large, medium-sized or small companies? (sm)
TIA
Yikes.. That is only inline with companies like Focus and such. "Real" companies pay their MTs
decent rate.  I make over 5 cpl editing. So, if I got that slap in the face, I'd be outta there.
Do the research...most companies, and not just MT companies, do not pay for maternity leave...
we get time off but not paid...and I really don't even understand the point of you posting this...
How do you know which companies are Nationals and which are smaller companies.
Is there a list somewhere? I'm new to this.
By "most of the companies", I meant MORE than MT companies.
clarification
Sten-Tel is the platform. Different companies use it, pay and how companies run are different. nm
:P
Also looking into them. Do they have benefits?

TIA.

How are the benefits and
do they pay according to experience, i.e. will they match what you are making elsewhere if they have more work than one can handle lately if one tests high with them? If you know, please tell.
DSG benefits
Quoted me at over $1000 per month for two people. Needless to say, did not take it!
Same here! What benefits?
x
? Benefits
What health insurance benefits does KS have? I have heard they are not paying anything toward it and it is very expensive.
Benefits
I just put in a call today as I am looking for benefits now as my husband was just laid off. I can take Unicare for $354 per month until January 1st when Blue Cross/Blue Shield kicks in. The cost on that is $256 per month (my share) as Keystrokes picks up 25% of the employee portion. Seems to be average as that is around what my husband paid at his old company.
