Sounds like he is combining business with vacation. Not that I agree with him at all I just don't see where your idea that he is gay comes from?
short arms, short-term memory loss...
I too suffer from Short Arm Syndrome. Add to that the short-term memory loss that middle-age brings and I have now discovered I need to lasso the &*%$ reading glasses around my neck or my day will be spent wandering in circles asking the dog where my glasses are.

I have two pairs, per advice of doctor. I do not wear glasses all the time, so he thought I was not ready for bifocals. My son gave me a wonderful eyeglass case for Christmas that is big enough to hold both pairs should I ever venture out of the house amongst the living.

I did manage to find some "sporty" looking around-the-neck-eye glass holder thingies - what DO you call those things? I'd use twine before getting those multicolored beaded ones. I have a neon coral one and an emerald green one. Too bad I can't find the former, I can't remember where I put it.
Have fibromyalgia and wondering if connection with

eating bread, things like Stromboli or pizza could aggravate this. I would have put this post on the immunosuppression board but not many seem to visit there. I was doing ok, taking some Lyrica which seems to have blocked a lot of the intense pain I have had and the other day ate some Stromboli and the rest of the day was very, very achy for me. Are there persons out here who might have some information on this, maybe working with people who have this or others who might have picked up information that can pass some on to me. I really, really love Italian food but I would pass on the bread ladened parts if that is what is causing the majority of the pain I have. TIA

Yes, it is amphetamine, (speed). sm
You will lose weight, your body will be jittery, just like you were speeding. You will talk very fast, can't sit still, dry mouth, sometimes pains in your stomach, and when it wears off you will be very very tired.

You will lose weight fast, but it is difficult to maintain that loss.

I lost 40 pounds in 2 months, and guess what, I gained it back very quickly, even while staying with my exercise routine. Phentermine is very addicting, also. If you have an "addicting personality" be careful.

Personally, I would never take "diet pills" again. They have a tendancy to cause pulmonary hypertension also and make your teeth brown. Just like a "speed freak".

I have managed to eat "right" and exercise routinely, as well as drink at least 10 glasses of water daily, and lost weight and kept it off, years later, after trying phentermine.

Every one is different. Maybe it will work well for you and you will not have any side-effects.

For me, I was hyper as could be, cleaned my house every day from top to bottom. I didn't know what the heck to do with myself. It was very difficult to sit and get my MT work done.

Good luck in whatever you decide. Have you tried that Wii Lu tea (or Wu Li tea) not sure how to spell it. I hear that is the new weight loss thing now.

When I was a teenager, and I am female so I am sure it is much more so for males, I was very headstrong and the only way my parents would have been able to keep me away from the people I was hanging out with would have been to move. That's a fact. They could talk to me until they were blue and ground me and whatever, but I would climb out the window at night to see my friends! We lived in a bad neighborhood. The main thing he needs is to not feel that everyone is against him or that everyone thinks he is bad. I did not have those issues happen to me, but my brother did. He spent years in juvenile detention and eventually jail for DUIs and for getting into fights in public. He is now 35 years old and has a good job - but no driver's license, not even to go to work and back - and his wife has to drive him to work. Whatever you have to do, including moving, would be worth it. He may hate you for it in the short-term, but it's better than the alternative.

It is recommended that the girls receive this immunization at this age for FUTURE sexual contact.  That does not mean you are condoning sex at that age, nor are you encouraging it, but you may be saving your daughter from cancer LATER in her lif.  How would you feel if at age 30 she came to you with the diagnosis and knwoing you could have possibly prevented it?  No one says to go have sex at age 10, 13, or even before marriage, but let's face, the child is eventually going to have sex...whether it be before or after marriage.  You also can teach your child all of your VALUES and instill in them the morals you desire for them to hold on to, but you CANNOT expect that.  You also have no clue whether her future mate (sexual or marital) has been privvy to any STD and therefore cannot predict any outcomes of what she may or may not end up with.  Since this particular STD does not show up in clasic formation, such as herpes, etc., it would be better to be proactive in her healthcare.  This is not a "go ahead and have sex" immunization, but one of possible preventable disease.

Joseph Cornell - Assemblage Art

Joseph Cornell (1903-73) was an American artist; born in Nyack, N.Y. He is best known for his shadow boxes made of found objects, maps, photographs, engravings, and other materials. Influenced by SURREALISM, these constructions are personally symbolic and evocative.  (Biographical information copied from Ask Jeeves Encyclopedia 2001 - no longer online)

He had no formal training in art and his most characteristic works are his highly distinctive `boxes'. These are simple boxes, usually glass-fronted, in which he arranged surprising collections of photographs or Victorian bric-à-brac in a way that has been said to combine the formal austerity of Constructivism with the lively fantasy of Surrealism. Like Kurt Schwitters he could create poetry from the commonplace. Unlike Schwitters, however, he was fascinated not by refuse, garbage, and the discarded, but by fragments of once beautiful and precious objects, relying on the Surrealist technique of irrational juxtaposition and on the evocation of nostalgia for his appeal (he befriended several members of the Surrealist movement who settled in the USA during the Second World War). Cornell also painted and made Surrealist films. (This information copied from WebMuseum)

Preserved in Cornell's boxes are items as divergent as drinking glasses and a cork ball; a clay pipe and a diagram of the orbits of earth and the moon; images of a Medici Princess, each accompanied by a wooden sphere; and a translucent marble in a cascade of blue sand. Cornell fuses his work with poetic intensity, and a private and enigmatic sentiment, which together affect the viewer as if these very objects formed a recording of a burst of Cornell's sense of joy, or wonder, or love, or sadness.

Though now highly sought after by Museums and private collections, Cornell's signature "boxes", which he began to make in the 1930s were not originally conceived as being for such a wide audience. Rather, they were made as "gifts" for individuals sometimes living, sometimes dead, often people the artist had never met, but who in some way had touched his life. Addendum: Sometimes it's the "wife." sm
When working for individual docs offices, once the wife came on the scene, she would book every last second of his time, the docs themselves only wanted to "doctor" and the wives controlled the $$$ to the point of ridiculous scheduling 10 min. or much less apart. They were also the ones who would "search around" for lower transcription prices, never asking background, only what you charge. They're usually all about the money. Gyn's do have "nurses" and I stand corrected. Most GP's I know hire for on-the-job training, I always ask every time.

In addition...
In addition to the point that all those women are somebody's mom, sister, daughter...

If the BF is involved in anything involving underage people, keep in mind that you shouldn't do anything on his computers, and it would probably also be wise to keep your finances completely separate (separate banks even, not just separate accounts).

Why?

Because in the case of anything involving children, EVERY PHOTO OR VIDEO IS ALSO EVIDENCE LEFT BEHIND FROM A CRIME SCENE! Any money he spends on the habit could be traced back to you if you share accounts.

From your most recent post, it seems like the BF doesn't know that you know. That's an interesting place in life. I never had the courage, bravery, stability, or self-esteem to not completely turn into a blubbering pathetic mess every time I stumbled on recent evidence. Mine always knew when I found stuff because I just couldn't handle it quietly. I never found any evidence of child-related stuff, though. I always told myself I could have found the courage to set the trap silently if I did. Thankfully I never needed to.

I guess I'm going to be changing veterinarians soon.... here's an update to the post below:

The oral pain/anti-inflammatory my cat was prescribed (which thank God I didn't give her without researching it!), is "Metacam" (meloxicam) oral suspension.  The article below is from the rescue where I got my cat.  Thank goodness I checked their website just now!

I was wrong about her vomiting BEFORE we went to the vet.  It was last night, which was about 8-10 hours AFTER being given one dose of Metacam p.o.  (This was an off-label treatment, as the oral suspension is for DOGS.)  Since it was given in the vet's office directly into her mouth, and she weighs less than 10 lbs.,  she most likely had an OVERDOSE, which is why she vomited up her dinner in every room of the house lase night.  The drug had been prescribed to help bring down the inflammation in the area of her lesion and fluid aspiration.   But among other things, this drug can cause kidney failure in cats.  "No, thanks!"   I lost a cat to renal failure a few years back, and it took me 3 years to pay off the over $5,000 in vet bills I'd put on my MasterCard!  And the cat still had to be put down, anyway.

So, here I've been spending the morning researching veterinary literature, checking my pet-insurance coverage limits, and biting my nails about the possible damage I might have done to my cat simply by trying to keep her up-to-date on her shots.   I'm just about to change my pet-care-policy to "no more shots and no more meds"!

Here's the article:

Metacam Risks in Cats

What is Metacam?

Metacam ® is the veterinary brand name for meloxicam,,a

non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)used to reduce

pain and inflammation. This article deals with two versions:

Metacam Solution for Injection (for cats)and Metacam Oral

Suspension (for dogs).

Metacam ’s FDA Approval Status

Metacam Solution for Injection was approved for one-time

use only in cats on 28 Nov 2004 (NADA 141-219).Metacam

Oral Suspension was approved for dogs only on 15 Apr 2003

(NADA 141-213).As of July 2006,the approval status of both

medications has not changed.

There is a misconception that using medications in a non-

FDA-approved fashion is illegal. This is simply not so;the FDA

regulates drug manufacturers, not the practice of veterinary

medicine.Veterinarians may prescribe any drugs they have

reason to believe are safe and effective, even if the particular

use is not FDA approved (this practice is known as "off-label "

or "extralabel " use)).However, you and your cat do not have

any FDA assurance that the drug is safe and effective.

Common uses of Metacam in Cats

Metacam is commonly used in cats for two cases:

(a)Metacam Solution for Injection (or simply "Metacam

Injection ")is used to provide post-operative relief of pain and

inflammation for up to 24 hours following procedures such as

dentistry,spaying and neutering.Vets often prescribe a few

daily follow-up doses of Metacam Oral for continued pain

relief, although this is not an FDA approved use.

(b)Metacam Oral Suspension (or simply "Metacam Oral ")is

often prescribed to relieve arthritis pain in cats.Although this

is also not an FDA approved use,it is known to be effective,

albeit with some risk.

Low Safety Margin =Higher Risks

According to the manufacturer ’s product sheet 1 ,Metacam has

a narrow margin of safety (also known as therapeutic index )

in cats, meaning that there is very little difference between a

safe, effective dose and a toxic dose.Repeated doses of

Metacam Oral in cats have been known to result in death,as

documented in the clinical tests 3 submitted to the FDA.

The narrow safety margin in cats is reflected in the FDA ’s

Adverse Drug Experience (ADE)reports 4 for Metacam Oral,

which summarize drug side effects reported by veterinarians.

Of 842 reports for dogs,19 cases of kidney failure and no

deaths were reported. However in 320 cats,105 cases of

kidney failure,48 deaths and 35 cases resulting in euthanasia

have been reported. This clearly indicates that Metacam poses

a much greater risk in cats than in dogs.

The use of Metacam poses not only a significant health risk to

the cat,but also exposes the cat owner to significant financial

risk. The treatment of kidney failure requires days of hospitalization,

and the outcome may be death.Whether the cat survives or

not,the hospital bill can easily exceed $1,000.

Because of Metacam ’s narrow safety margin, veterinarians

will order blood tests to check your cat ’s kidney and liver

functions and general state of health.Don ’t try to save money

by refusing these tests;it ’s essential to know if your cat is at

greater risk.Should side effects occur, your vet is likely to

order another round of tests to check the drug ’s impact on

your cat.Be prepared for these costs.

Problems with Smaller Cats

The post-surgical use of Metacam Oral in smaller cats (under

10 lbs.)poses a unique problem.The product sheet for Metacam

Oral 2 warns against administering the drug directly into the

mouth for dogs weighing less than 10 lbs,as this may cause

an accidental overdose.Instead,it must be mixed with food to

ensure slower absorption. The Metacam Injection used during

surgery may cause loss of appetite, and the cat won ’t eat his

oral dose.So you ’re likely to try to administer the dose directly

into the mouth, but if your cat weighs less than 10 lbs.(and

many do),this only increases the risk of overdose.

Questions for your Vet

Given the clearly documented risks of Metacam Oral in cats,it

is wise to ask your veterinarian the following questions if he or

she recommends its use:

Are my cat ’s blood tests (especially liver &kidney functions)OK?

What side effects should I look out for?

Under what conditions should I discontinue the medication?

Who do I call on evenings or weekends if my cat has a reaction?

Is there a 24-hour emergency animal hospital in the area?

May I have copies of the Metacam product sheets?

Persians are a more delicate breed, are you sure this is safe?

My cat weighs less than 10 pounds, are you sure this is safe?

What other pain medications are FDA-approved in cats?

What pain medications were you using prior to Metacam Oral ’s

release in 2003?

Are these medications safer and/or cheaper than Metacam?

Conclusion

There are clearly documented risks associated with the off-

label use of Metacam Oral in cats which may lead to kidney

failure and death. These risks should be carefully discussed

with your veterinarian before proceeding with any Metacam

treatment.For post-operative pain relief,explore other alternatives

with your veterinarian before agreeing to the use of Metacam.

Sheila has it right and in addition...sm
You can encourage her to look at her bills and see what she can cut back on. For instance if she pays her own rent then she can do things like be sure to cut off lights, have the A/C set at 78 instead of colder, consolidate trips in the car to save on gas to help free up money for other things.

We give the kids a bonus in our household. For each month the utilities bill come in under the budget amount they get to have 1/2 the savings for entertainment. It sure helps give them an incentive to cut off lights when not in rooms, not stay in the shower until every drop of hot water is drained, etc.

With the increasing cost of gas when we leave home we try to consolidate errands as much as possible. Now instead of going say to Target for odds and ends and then Publix for groceries we go to the Super Wal-Mart where we can get everything at one stop. These little things add up and I'm finding myself now going about 2 days further between fill-ups than I used to.
In addition to the swats or the ISS, I would take away sm
something at home, i.e., TV, cell phone, Ipod, a previous engagement to do something fun. Being late is rude, lazy, and says "hey, look at me, it's all about me" so nip it in the bud right now. Kids today need to be taught to be on time, be polite, and have table manners, etc. Mine do.
In addition to considering the maturity,

I would also consider whether or not there is someone next door (maybe the bus driver you mentioned) that would be willing to "keep an eye" on him and that he could go to in case of emergencies.

I was a latchkey kid at about the age of 11 or 12; however, my older brother was 14 or 15 at the time and my grandma lived across the street from us.

My oldest son is now in fifth grade, 11 years old, and I have only been allowing him some "home alone" time in the last year.  I really wasn't comfortable with doing that until he was 10, but each child is different.

I would also caution you to write down some ground rules and maybe just start out by leaving him alone for 1/2 hour here and there to see how he does.  If you're not comfortable with him being home alone, you won't get much work done during that last hour of the day anyway.  Good luck!

In addition to the media, I would also

contact an attorney if the school does nothing.  I've seen a few movies "based on fact" where the school is legally bound to protect your child during school hours.  If the school does nothing and the police do nothing, I would contact an attorney immediately.

ADDENDUM. Just trying to get some straight answers and not sure what to make of this whole mess. nm
nm
I am keeping the journal going and in addition...sm
I bought a ceramic cross yesterday with 1 Samuel 1:27 on it which says "For This Child I prayed". I wrote the baby's nickname that my husband & I called it, the EDC and "went to heaven" dates on the front of the cross and it's hanging in our living room next to our family photo.
Congratulations on your new family addition.
Take your dog to the door every 30 to 40 minutes or so and the dog will get the idea that the outside is the place to do its thing. Could MAYBE give a treat when the dog actually goes outside and does not have an accident in the house. But, try to be careful on the treats, they will get accustomed to that really quick. Good luck.
I am so glad i do not have to keep maiden in addition
to all these past names I have had, being on my 4th marriage now. Gosh, that would be 5 names in all, wouldn’t it?
I am personal trainer in addition to an MT
so I am at the gym working out almost every day, and when I am not at the gym, I am on my home treadmill. I like to keep in shape and always have. I find that working out always puts me in a good mood (the endorphin release). I was always active in sports as a kid and have always been very tone and fit. I am also only 25 (26 in September), so my metabolism is pretty fast anyway!
I'd say IN ADDITION to getting a generator as I mentioned above.

l

After reading your 2 posts below in addition to this one...
You need to get OUT! In time the kids will know what is going on either way, married or divorced. If you husband has been physically aggressive with you before, who is to say he's not going to have enough of your turning him down one day and come home aggressive again?! I'm worried and I don't even know you. Listen to stories on the news about the women who trusted their husbands implicitly and then one day something snapped in him - don't let that happen to you. Besides, do you want your kids thinking his behavior is a healthy one. Consciously or not, many children model their future marriage skills after their parents. I think you should seek individual counseling and advice from a lawyer. Commonly the first visit does not cost you anything and they will tell you what type of retainer fee they need so you can be working on that. Also, when (hopefully) everything starts to get in motion, get your kids in counseling too. Early is better. Don't wait for problems or issues. A lot of kids are very good at hiding their feelings from their parents. Finally, I must say, as controlling as your husband sounds the only reason he wants you to stay around is financial. Men talk about these things, my husband had told me. You will make out just fine. He'll be the one writing the check - oh, and you can request that it go through the court so you don't have to see/talk to him about the money every month. Good luck to you. Go with your gut. Be sure to let family know what's going on too so they can keep their eyes open and help if needed.
That other board (in addition to not being free) is also
nm
Here's an addition to your question about layout - sm
that was unbelievable. I was at a Walmart one day to buy jeans. In the unlikely event I find the 'perfect' pair, I usually buy 2 of the same size, 'cause who knows when you'll ever find a perfect pair again, right?

So I'm in the dressing room trying them on, find the perfect pair, and go out to grab another identical pair before heading to the register. Only......

While I was in the dressing room (maybe 10 minutes, tops?), they had completely reconfigured the entire jeans section, and the whole display that had the jeans I wanted was GONE! I spent another half-hour looking for them, and never did find them, even when I asked an employee, who was of course clueless.

So, I guess Walmart is kind of like the weather in the mountains. If you don't like what you see, wait 10 minutes and it'll change!
In addition to the black oil sunflower seeds,

cardinals also love safflower seeds.  Extra bonus -- squirrels will not eat safflower seeds.  Cardinals also require a platform type feeder as opposed to a perch feeder.

We have had very few cardinals this year, which is quite unusual.  Two winters ago I counted 19 all at once.  It was after a heavy snow and it was quite a sight.

Love them birds!

Important addition to MIL problem directly below this posting

Oh, by the way, 3 weeks ago my DH told my MIL that I was upset with her and why. She made light of it, explaining that she was just "joking" and "being funny" and of course she didn't mean anything by it.

If it were my son telling me that I had offended my DIL in some way I would call her immediately and talk it through. However, my phone has not rung yet, and I'm pretty sure it's not going to.

I can see her sitting over there coiled like a king cobra expecting me on Thanksgiving and I'm so uncomfortable just thinking about it.

My husband said that she was just joking and to suck it up (again), and just go over. I'm really stressed out about this. Any suggestions would be great.

Too many of these stories becoming familiar, in addition to inforcing the death penalty....sm
I have to ask myself why so much of society these days is behaving in this way, uncontrollable, ugly rage...is it the decay of family units, absentee fathers, is it the abundance of drugs, violence in media....I am old enough to remember a time when these atrocities seemed to be the RARE horror stories, why the abundance now? No God in their worlds?????

On the internet I always do this...
I go to "Page" then "text size" then select "largest."  It doesn't work on most pages, but it makes Google much larger, which definitely makes it much easier to read.  That's all I can tell you though.  I don't know how to make it zoom permanently.
Look on internet about --sm
Synthroid. There are all kinds of comments on there about how ineffective it is for SOME people why are hypothyroid. It also has a very short shelf life and what you get may be old and not help you much. I much prefer Armour thyroid, as it also has T3 hormone in it, where Synthroid does not. A lot of docs who do not know much about hypothyroidism say that you don't need T3, but my feelings are that if the body makes it, you need it for something, whether the doctors think so or not. The same goes for T1 and T2. Armour is not the answer to everything. I don't believe any supplement can fully make up for what your body can't produce any longer, but it helps more than Synthroid does. Only you can tell after you have been taking the medication for a while. Listen to your body and not what some doctors tell you or what other people tell you. Watch your symptoms and see how well the medication relieves those. Do some research on your own, as well. Some doctors do not think this is a very serious problem and kind of poo-poo what you tell them. They also just give you a pill and think you will be okay. That is not always the case.
Internet shopping

Does anyone else who works from home use the internet for most of their shopping or to surf the web during work?  I had a MT service owner who complained to me that he had a hard time getting his "girls" to work since implementing the internet - that they spent their work time on QVC or HSN.  I never thought about going to other sites (other than for references) while working, but apparently this is a big pull for some of us - I just can't imagine having time to shop while trying to work.

Go to Soapcity on the internet

and it will give you a daily update.  Nick will probably not show up for at least another week or so.  When they wrote in his death he hadn't resigned with the shot yet and they write most of the storylines about 4-6 week in advance.

Internet usage
From what I have read, their policy relates to donwloads, says it is equal to downloading 4 full-length videos per day before it is considered"excessive usage." I asked my employer about it and was told it would not affect us as all we do is exchange info with our servers. So unless you do a lot of actual dowloading, it should have no effect.
