Own account

Think about getting your own account to supplement this.  They are out there.  Got two this past month.  They came to me -- no advertising.   Tapes with pick up and delivery but good pay.  Each account between 10,000 and 15,000 lines per month.  Will be adding another local IC but because I do pick up and delivery I can only pay 8.5 cpl but it is gross 65 cpl.   But that might help.

Take into account where she is from.
She may have grown up in a place that had no blacks, or maybe her parents were racist; maybe all she learned FROM OTHERS for a very long time was a little skewed or backwards, and she has no idea she's not being PC.
I had an ex-BF who didn't know a single black person until he went to college, and he would say the weirdest things about blacks, not out of hatred or racism, but out of innocent ignorance to their life/background/culture.
In all honesty, the OP sounds a little simple in her language and view...or maybe it's just that she and I are from different cultures and we are both NORMAL.
Very easy for me- I have an account
with 1 of the major shopping channels, have my television in my work room, sometimes watching a particular show and get the number, call up the site and order. It really does not take that long and I still get 2000-3000 or over a day, no sweat.
I'm jealous, I wish I had such an account
as a secret one so I could sock away some extra $$ !!!
Can You Get Overdraft on your account
This has more than saved my life. It's well worth it just for piece of mind in case something should happen and you absoutely have to use your checking account and you're a little short. I hope that that one penny won't screw you up. That would stink. Maybe the bank would be forgiving.
Can you account for most of his time
when he is supposed to be either at work or home? I would be more upset if my husband were into a same sex situation than with a woman. Thinking he might be cheating (if into same sex) I definitely would not want to have sex with him, or really the other way either but especially same. You are much at risk if you do, better to not fiddle around. Thank the Lord I don’t have that crap now. I have gone through similar in my life and finally found a guy who I am 100% sure of - hard to find now days.
I just recently went out and got my own account sm
to avoid the arguments over money. He is not very happy about it, but I told him that after 18 years of being together I cannot have this argument any longer. My husband was a real mama's boy and he got whatever he wanted when he was a child (an ONLY child BTW). I came from a large family where I wore my brother's hand me downs and share clothes with my sisters. I have decided it is never going to change, but I needed to get that stress out of my life. I told him as long as you pay these bills, your leftover money is yours to do whatever it is you want to do. I am exhausted with this situation. I love my husband, the children adore him, so I am hoping this will help the stress in our marriage so we can stay together. I am sorry to stay this will only get worse. We don't even have a house, we rent an apartment for God's sake. He has no desire to even buy a house . . . I am going to try to qualify on my own. Wish my luck . . .
No checking account. sm
I have a prepaid debit card I have my pay deposited onto and then pay bills from that or get money orders.  The only problem I have is if I get a check its hard to cash and I have to go to the issuing bank and they sometimes charge a fee to cash their own check.  Like National City charges $10 to cash a check drawn on their bank if you don't have an account with them.
I only have a savings account....sm
Better for me that way. I hate checking accounts. My husband and I have issues when I have a checking account because he thinks you can write a check and worry about covering it later. Not me.
Do you have a Paypal account?

Maybe a few of us could send you a couple of dollars to cover it.

I came home from Sunday school once with a chunk out of my hair but it was the work of some naughty little boy.

Never had any money, on account of....sm
Though I made decent wages, I was divorced and had a daughter and later grandson to almost completely support for a great many years, all through her nursing school and college for her, because her father did nothing...but that's neither here nor there.

So if anything, I'm even a little better off now than before, LOL! As long as my loved ones are OK, I'm OK.
But did you and your no account brother treat her
x
Seems most poeple are not taking into account

that this man beat her!  He may have not hit her in the past four years but believe me, there is a good chance he will do it again.  She is NOT in love with him so why stay with someone you have NO feelings for and do not desire sexually?  Is therapy REALLY going to make her fall in love with this man again?  Is he going to be HONEST with her....he hasn't been all these years; in fact, sounds as though he shows no emotion at all.

My question is - how do you stay with someone you do not love any longer no matter what unresolved issues there are.  The only issue I would feel is that there is NO love - if there is NO love, I MOVE ON and did after 29 years.

Sounds like we work on the same account!
LOL

I get irate too, report after report about illegals and all the free crap they get, and doctors even giving them advice on how to get more freebies.

We had that happen with an old dial-up account
But there was no advanced warning or anything.  One month our bill was what they said it would be and the next month it had doubled if not tripled.  They told us it was because we were "unusually heavy users."  I don't even remember what company it was, but we dropped them immediately.
My checking account is free too. I pay
most of my bills on line through them--no fee for that either. Whenever I need checks, I order them from one of those places you see in ads in the Sunday paper. They are cheaper and with paying online, I have not ordered any in probably 4 years.
I can use bill pay to pay to a specific account #
at any bank. Its free, too.
login to your account @paypal to see your history. SM
if there is no payment listed, then assume it did not go through.

or you could check with your credit card company...
file garnishment on bank account
so it hits his account the same day he deposits pay checks (usually Friday).
PayPal eCheck from my checking account

I know this has happened to somebody here before, I remember reading it.  This morning I woke up and checked my checking account to see what little I had left before pay day this Friday.  What I found was that somebody had taken $2420.00 from a PayPal eCheck, and now I am way in the negative.  The bank says it takes three to five, possibly up to ten days to dispute and make the account right.  That's just great. I have a direct deposit going in on Friday, and won't even be able to use that until who knows when.

What can be done, if anything, on my part?  Is there someway to make PayPal responsible for making the dispute happen faster?  I have no clue what to do and have absolutely no money until this dispute is over.  It did take the whole ten days about six months ago when I got double charged for something, so I already know it won't happen before pay day.  Maybe with this large sum of money they will expedite.  I can hope!

Okay, back to work for me.  Thanks.

First thing I did after reading this was check my account sm
All is well, thank goodness.  How scary!  I hope it all gets straightened out okay.
Hey Jan - You can also open a free account with photobucket.com
You can upload any pictures to that and then change the size. After that you can copy it onto the avatar secton here.

My husband opened up a new Ameritrade account
so far, so good.  We only put in $2000.  He basically wanted some play money and wanted to give it a try.  We do day trading and he's actually making a little bit.  He tends to watch the companies that are closing to merging and makes a play for them.  You can find out ahead of time what companies are planning mergers, when they expect to close, and how much they agreed on for the selling price per share.  So far, he's done 2 of these and made out okay, but he's pretty conservative in how much he buys.
Closing an account affects your score because
if you carry balances on other cards, by closing an account you instantly increase the percentage of available credit that you are using. An assessement of the percentage of use is a significant element in your credit score.

If you have other cards with high limits and low or no balances, closing an account will have only a small, probably temporary, effect, unless you are closing the account with the longest history. As another poster mentioned, length of credit history is another significant element of your credit score.

If you have high balances on other cards, leaving open an unused account will make those balances a lower percentage of your available credit, which can boost your credit score. However, in that case, paying down the balances will have a much larger positive effect on your score.

Hate making a mistake on my checking account!

I typically write only 1 check a month (for my rent/water) and everything else is paid online or with my ATM/Visa card.  I checked my balance this morning and thought, yeh! I can go get a latte!  So off I went, spent $3.57 on a coffee and on the way home remembered something -- I wrote a check last week to the DMV for this year's registration/tag and I wasn't sure if it had cleared my bank.  Got home, checked my balance and guess what?  The outstanding check has NOT cleared and now the balance in my checking account is 1 penny short of clearing that check!  Too late to go put in a couple of dollars for it to be posted tonight in case the check comes through

Y'all keep your fingers crossed with me that the check won't come through tonight, or if it does my bank will be forgiving and not charge me $35 to cover that extra penny I'm short on    That would be some expensive latte!!!

If you have a Netflix account, you can watch online for free.
The membership is fairly cheap. My husband and I have one and watch movies online on their site all the time.
Where did you get the account of it from? The child with perception issues? Or another adult?
oooo

Transfer your banking business to a free checking account
Washington Mutual Compass Bank, and many others offer completely free checking accounts. There’s no reason you should be paying maintenance and annual fees for a checking account.
Why does closing a credit card account negatively affect your credit report

Especially when I never use it anyway, and really never wanted it?

With all the bank rearranging going on in the past few months, one of my accounts was tranferred to Bank of America. I was sent new cards and a new agreement, new interest rate etc...

So I called them up and cancelled but before they did, I had to listen to a spiel about how this would negatively affect my credit report.

Huh?? Why is that?

If you are set on closing, do not close the old ones, close a newer account first.
Your credit is based on a mix of things like history, types of accounts, mix of credit (revolving vs installment), usage/utilization of credit available, and payment history. Where closing could hurt your score is the part of the score that averages history of accounts/length of credit. If you decide to close, close out a newer account first.
The best way to protect from ID theft as far as credit is to freeze your credit reports. It's around $10 per agency to freeze them. Each credit reporting agency tries to sell your their own monitoring plan when you get to the how to freeze information, so make
sure you are freezing it.
You can't freeze it over the net they each require a letter by registered mail. It takes about 1 month to freeze it.
Right now you can place a fraud alert on your reports for free. The credit *should* not extend credit or do a credit line increase without calling the phone # on your credit report first. You only need to do it at one credit reporting agency and the other ones will be notfied. The number for equifax fraud alert 1-888-766-0008. It's automated.

If you are concerned about ID theft try one of the monitoring plans. I've tried a few of them and Equifax has the best one. Their Score Watch is great, you set the limits to be notified and any change they send an email literaly the next day. I used it after I discovered ID theft. It might be a waste of money for you. I would place the fraud alerts, then the freeze, and check your reports 2x per year.

I've had ID theft as far as my name/social but what concerns me more than credit ID theft is bank account theft. I don't know how we can fight that. It seems like consumers get the raw end of the deal as far rights when deposit accounts are stolen.
