The only thing I've read about
are problems with microwaving with plastic dishes. Sounded like glass was okay.
I've read the same thing about bathing dogs. sm
I have a Sheltie, and the Sheltie book recommends bathing when s/he gets very dirty or before a show. They don't need routine bathing. They need frequent brushing which removes dirt. Some dog breeds don't have oily coats, so don't smell. Sheltie is one of them, a collie is probably the same.

I recommend taking Maggie to the groomer for a good brushing every other week or so. It would be good for Maggie's coat and skin. The groomer can advise you when she needs a bath.
Funniest thing this week
Transcribing a report on an adult and in the past medical history doc states"the patient had SIDS as a child".  Thought perhaps this doc was a ghost whisperer!
HA! - funniest thing I heard all day! Thanx
ha!
What was the funniest thing you typed over the last few days?
I had a doctor on Friday night who gave a whole list of his plans for his elderly patient and then at the end said,  Rib fractures will be repeated.  Owie!!!
From what I've read

None of the main characters are going to die.  I hope Victoria doesn't lose her baby.  I heard she's going on maternity leave, so will have a car accident and be in the infamous *soap opera coma* while the actress is on leave.

From what I've read about this --

she came to the doctors already pregnant with 8 babies.  There is speculation that she obtained fertility drugs from another country.  They have not confirmed whether fertility drugs have been used, but the likelihood is highly suspicious.

No doctor in this country would:

A) Give fertility drugs to a mother of 6 already.

B) Encourage or advise the mother to carry 8 babies.

If she did use fertility drugs, there's no way she could have afforded them legally.

I believe the doctors did everything to make sure that these babies were born healthy.  That's their job.  The rest is on the mom.  I think she's gonna have "a lot of s'plaining to do, Lucy!"

In fact, I've re-read the first 3 o4 4
already while waiting for others to come out. I really need to re-read the rest because there was one detail about Draco that I didn't remember.

You know the thing I'm talking about? Did you remember that?
I've read some of the posts
If indeed this guy has a criminal record, specifically for drugs - which you should verify the proper way through your local sheriff's office or clerk's office - I don't think you would be wrong to tell your daughter that she's not allowed to go anywhere with him. Just be prepared that she may seriously rebel! But you are right, if they're in a car together and he has drugs in the car, she could get arrested too. I would explain that to her and tell her that is your reasoning behind your decision. Yes, teenagers will do what they want most of the time anyway, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't try. My mother had the attitude of 'well you'll just do it anyway' so I was allowed to do pretty much whatever I wanted. I do NOT recommend that method! :)
I've read the books (sm)

We actually got HBO solely for the reason of watching this series.  So far it is...okay?  I love the books but the series is not sticking strictly to them, and is changing some things that I don't think should be changed.  However, by itself, I do like the series.  Just hate it when they go from books and change majorly seriously big things!!

HC

oops, should've read *not all democrats*...sorry..NM
x
I've read that they're happy to just lie around all day, but
if they get out, they could take off and sometimes see little pets as prey. I have neighbors who have little dogs and wouldn't want to risk having a dog that would eat their dogs.
I've been going through the same thing,
and I think I've found relief today. I talked to a career counselor at a private school and he was very encouraging. I knew I needed to go back to school and get a better job, but what? I have done a lot of research, and coding makes the most "sense" in some ways because I could go to Andrews for about $4000 and get out and get a job that pays very well. The only problem is that I'd still have a job where I sit in a chair in the basement of a hospital and deal with paper (or computer work). I'm 44, and I must be going through menopause or something, but just like you I am sick of sitting still and being bored. I want to move and interact and feel important and make a good wage and be in demand. After talking to this counselor he encouraged me that I could do it - be a surgical tech. He's been through the course himself, and had the same doubts, but his huge clumsy hands did learn it. He says he needs a career that is more in the field of counseling and he's now going for his PhD, but he convinced me not to take a course that is going to go against what my brain wants to do. I'm still looking into the details to make sure I don't have to take a bunch of prerequisites (sp?)like a community college would make me do, but I suddenly feel alive again.

I've researched many of the medical careers, so if you have questions, I may be able to answer. There is financial aid available. We can do this.
No, what a crock. The only thing I have read - sm
is tea tree oil and also coconut shampoos deter them, but whether that is really true is another matter as well. I just went thru *ell with the little critters in September. Still trying to get my kids hair back to normal, both have bad dandruff now from the lice shampoo and it has been 3+ months since we got rid of them.
Also one thing I've found
is to always eat something crunchy with your meals - mine is often raw carrots or a few nuts. I have only about 10 pounds to go and it was hard, but I find I really like my 3 mile walk every night to unwind!  Good luck to you!
What's the one cooking thing you've never been able to

I cannot make a pizza dough I'm happy with, and I can't tell you how many recipes I've tried. Regular rise; made in the bread machine; all-purpose flour; bread flour; it doesn't matter. I've tried and tried but I've never been able to get that elasticy dough you need for a good crust.

Do you have one thing that just defeats you, every time?

That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
A cat is a natural predator to those small mammals and birds and I don't see any of them going extinct because of cats.

I do agree that house cats should be kept inside, but only for their own protection and that's only my opinion. My cats stay inside exclusively.
I've done it so many times -- most exciting thing

Wow, where do I start?  I left MI when I was 23, having heard San Diego was nice.  I loaded up the Chevy and headed West.  One of many, many adventures I've had.  I've driven back and forth relocating across this country too many times to count, taking my job with me where ever I go.  Atlanta, Chicago, LA, San Diego.  I've done it with cats, a baby, and a 30-year-old car -- everytime all by myself.  I have a CB radio to keep in touch with the truckers and they would always help me when I would break down, overheat, or need any sort of help.  There is nothing like seeing this great country of ours one slow mile at a time.  Colorado and Utah are by far the most beautiful, but treacherous because of the Rocky Mountains.

As far as moving to a city you don't know a whole lot about, you have to contact the Chamber of Commerce for any particular city for all sorts of information about their town --- also part of the adventure.  I always loved being a stranger in a strange land.

And fear, oh yes, but more bravery than anything.  I've always told people that pretend bravery is the same as the real thing, just fake it and you'll do fine.  If you're young and courageous, I say totally go for it!!

that was a LONG thing to read and not understand what is your question really about
I see the part you are asking are things black and white but you REALLY went on and on about your dad finding a job...do you have a question about what we think of that or simply just about your sister's actions and attitude? or joining the mormon church? Sorry but this is very confusing! I know i tend to drone on sometimes and i understand your frustration, but you are all over the place! have you confronted your sis on her behavior? i mean, if that's the problem that you are asking about?
Isn't that a shame? But it's not just a recent thing. I've heard of it
//
What is the MOST outrageous thing you've seen/heard while working in the medical field?
While working in an oncology office I had a heartbreaking conversation with a newly-widowed young mother of 2. Apparently healthy husband suddenly turned up with a brain tumor, which killed him pretty quickly. The life insurance company did their due diligence and investigated the case, since the policy was issued only weeks before the diagnosis; but the patient had NO indications of illness at the time, and the medical records basically proved the negative; he hadn't been to a doctor because he wasn't sick.

In the course of discussing the point with the claims examiner, the widow told him it wasn't about the money (although she was going to need it to raise her 2 kids by herself). She'd FAR rather have her husband back. The claims examiner said he'd far rather have the woman's husband back too...

... wait for it ...

... because if he were still alive, he'd still be paying premiums to the insurance company!

Yes, it really happened.

I suggested the widow contact the state insurance commissioner's office and report the guy. Even if what he said/did was not precisely illegal, it was WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.
ESL docs have got to be the funniest!
I have one who always says "patient lives alone at home by himself." Another one seems beyond being able to use correct medical terminology for bodily functions. All his patients "poop" and "pee." The kids also have "snotty noses."
I just found the FUNNIEST website! -(sm)-

It's called "Awkwardfamilyphotos.com".    Check out the Mullet-family and the Pooh-family.... I still can't hardly type, I'm laughing so hard!

Y'all must not watch Funniest Home Videos as often as I do
... if you think hanging a pinata, blindfolding a child and handing him a stick is a good party idea, LOL.

Swing away!
Don't want you to feel bad!! You're our funniest "co-worker" LOL (sm)
How long have you been transcribing? I seem to know a lot of transcriptionists, including myself, who have had these types of symptoms. Doctor told me the same thing once - wonder if it is from lack of movement or constant computer exposure?
Oh you're kidding! Blazing Saddles is one of the funniest movies
And no, I'm not a guy.
Animal House, without a doubt, funniest movie of all time.
LOL
If I don't read before I go to sleep I can't fall asleep. I will read sm
until I begin to fall asleep. They say reading relaxes you fully and it works wonders for me.

I used to suffer from insomnia, but not since I've been doing this - about 5 years now.

Plus, I've grown so much and have gained wisdom by doing so. I enjoy Christian books and reading the Bible.
Happiness is a heart thing; pleasure is a head thing.nm

If you've got one, you've got bunches!

How do ya feel about cats?  That's what I'd do...get a cat...but I love cats and love it when they bring me 'presents' of dead varmints.

If that's not an option, and you're not comfortable with baiting, glue traps, or that sort of thing, it'd be worth it to hire a professional 'cridder ridder' or exterminator.  Those things will chew up your walls and floorboards like you have no idea and cause incredible amounts of damage.  Good luck in your jihad!

I've done this 12 yrs and I've had to take breaks sm
Took a break and worked at my kids preschool one year, worked at a hospital one year, took a couple months off once. It does burn you out because it takes all of your concentration. When I worked at the hospital as a secretary I could not believe how easy the job was ;-) I was sooo used to just getting paid for actual work that when I had a conversation with a coworker or a phone call or took lunch, I felt like I was getting away with a lot! I hope your break works out!! I wish you lived close-by, we could take turns watching each others kids ;-)
Has anyone read
I read it last week and just wondering if anyone else has.  I thought it jumped around a bit but it was interesting to get to know more about her and I enjoyed hearing about Dr. Phil.  They seem genuine.
I just read, it's $360................
@
read again
You were so quick to respond and try to tell me my daughter WILL have bad behavior that will make her in danger for STDs that you didn't even read, I said he told me the NEXT day.  Just because some people have no control doesn't mean we all don't.  There are still virgins on their wedding day out there....even though that may be a SHOCK.
I have read and re-read --sm
my posts and I seriously wonder how you ever got that I thought surgery was the only way to go when all I said was that some of these reports were *created* by insurance companies who do not want to pay for ANY care concerning carpal tunnel if it was an over use issue. But whatever...that is not what I meant. All I meant was than insurance companies tend to manipulate reports to THEIR benefit, not the patient's. Surgery or no surgery...that is the individual's choice and not my concern. Sorry you did not UNDERSTAND what I was saying.
you believe everything you read????
/
I have read all of them...sm
and there was one person who said many times that they believe he did this because he was taught anti-americanisms while he was in school in korea (kindergarten, first, and second grades) or had been taught it by his korean parents. Hate has no nationality. That's all I am trying to say.
Sorry, should read
do that....
I read this in SOD, but (sm)
I thought they only tape about a week ahead, so I thought since it's been a week, he might show up today.  Oh, well, I can wait.
Did not read below but if you have an outside - sm
box on your house, anyone can creep into your yard and plug in a computer and go to town. You can put a lock on it, ours looks like a small gray box attached to the house about 8 x 8 inches or so, open it up and you will see phone jacks, it is how the repairmen check the lines, etc. w/o coming inside. Anyone could just run a long line and sit in a car nearby and do it too, but depending on where you live I think this would be noticed. If it happens consistently still check it out, see if some kid/night owl is hacking in this way by getting up in the hours it happens and see if someone is doing this, if so problem solved (call the police obviously if you see this happening); if this is not the case, then maybe take your phone off the hook at night, I would think then they would not be able to hack into it w/o a dial tone. I hope you get this resolved quickly.
Also read...
that Maine has the highest consumption of Allen's in the 48 contiguous states.

Never heard about Allen's and milk, but I'm from away, too. I learn new things all the time up heyah.

Lobstah, blueberries, pahtatahs and Maine's champagne: Allen's. Gives new meaning to "The Way Life Should Be"!

Can you read
any words like Budweiser or beer? There is certainly nothing wrong with the draft horses working with a cart, and your kids really aren't going to think "beer" when the look at it. If people are going to be over and might think about it, or if it bothers your husband, maybe there is a wood filling product that could fill in any words that refer to beer or pictures of beer bottles, etc. Maybe you could then use stain or a rosemaling (painting technique) design over it, or whatever would complement the style. It sounds really cute to me.

Is it something you would read again?
I was just thinking that I could just go to the library, but sometimes I like to read books over again - after waiting a sufficient amount of time so that I forget all the details! Is the series something you would go back and read again?
Yes, I will probably read them again
Loved the books better than the movies, but the movies were okay.
OK, read it again and again, still don't get it...
Must be me...oh well!
I read that to mean
there should be no drinking age like in Europe. Not that there should be no drinking. My two high school kids went on a school trip to Italy and Greece in April. They said the only teenagers getting obnoxiously drunk were the Americans and the Canadians teens were drinking but not to excess. Also all the Canadian kids smoked cigarettes too.
I just read about that!

All sorts of elements when combined or heated will cause noxious fumes and those symptoms.  Even some welders have to wear respirators and breath canned oxygen when working with some metals.  Can't wait to hear more about it though!

Er, um, that should have read....

"Having your own teeth SHOULDN'T have to be considered a luxury."  I'm sure you knew what I meant though.  Frosts my tuckas it does.

from what I have read this is an

"emotional affair".  You are better off letting it go and finding a friend that can talk to you without it being a secret.

Would you read....
your spouses/SO diary? Or do you consider that an invasion of privacy?

What if you suspected your spouse/SO was involved in something (drugs, cheating, theft). Would it make it ok then?
