I do not believe it is referring to the thought that by throwing a bunch of harmful *chemicals* into the body

***You should see the list of chemicals in burdock or valerian root. Or an orange. Or a human being, for that matter. Being comprised of chemicals doesn't automatically make a thing bad.

that some pharmaceutical research person dreamt up with thoughts of $$ in his head, as a *cure*.

***Plenty of researchers are motivated by more than money. It's insulting to the likes of Jonas Salk to say that researchers are only a bunch of mercenaries.

Nature has already provided us with whatever we need to treat ourselves and our diseases.

***Yes, all the compounds that go into chemotherapy regimens are found in the universe the godhead created.

This is what this mother is searching for.

***I started doubting the depth of the mother's religious beliefs when I read she was scrounging around on the internet for alternatives. If she's that rooted in her belief system, she'd go directly to a shaman & I'd have nothing but respect for her. Knowing what you *don't* want has never made anyone a disciple OR created any magic. When your kid's life is on the line doesn't seem to be the best time to go rummaging around for a belief system.

It would be one thing if she were saying No to drugs that would only marginally prolong a life filled with pain. But to say no to something that offers a great chance of CURE in exchange for some months of discomfort? I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy the nightmare she will be living in when she wakes up from her delusion & realizes she's sacrificed her son's life for something she read about at some health food store.

How would you like to have someone tell you that you had to have a treatment that you don't want? Would you want someone to force you to be throwing up every half hour and lose your hair??? I highly doubt it.
