If so, where did you purchase it?  Out of stock at the places I have checked.

TIA.

drug reference

I always use Drugs@FDA.  I have it in my favorites:  http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cder/drugsatfda/

You can look up drug names by using as few as three letters.  I find it's quick and efficient, and it's free, and because it's the FDA it's the latest info on drugs.

drug reference

Another terrific site to look up drugs is "drugs.com"  Hardly ever have anything I can't find any more due to their wonderful search engine

Quick Look Electronic Reference
is great. I don't particularly care for the book, but the electronic version is great. As far as a book, the Saunders is excellent.  I have a used Saunders 2007 if you're interested.
What's the best electronic drug reference? I need
quick look ups - mostly just questioning generic versus brand names!! I thought there was a post on this the other day, which peaked my interest, but not can't find!! Wish there was an on-line site, even if I had to pay for it, which constantly updated. I just don't have time for the free online sources, though I have a few good ones! Any suggestions?
Need to invest in a new drug reference
Hey there, I have the Saunders Pharmaceutical Word Book and CD-ROM, I love it...You can look up medications on the CD-ROM by using the *if you can here the first part of a medication or the ending of a medication...you just put in the * at the beginning or end and just 3 letters and it will bring up every medication close to that...it is great!!!!!
Trying to decide on a drug reference. Help!
I need assistance from the great folks on this forum!

I'm about to plunk cash down for an electronic drug reference (I'm into wildcard searches rather than page-flipping) and I'm torn between the Quick Look and the Drake and Drake.

So far, the Drake and Drake looks best...cheaper, updated monthly, already 2007 version out, but I hear many here who seem to be quite fond of the Quick Look.

Which do you like, and why? Or doesn't it really matter? Thanks!

Help on upgrading drug reference

Hi all,

I am seriously in need of upgrading my drug reference. I am still using Quick Look electronic 2004 and so many new drugs have been introduced in the past 4 years.  What would you recommend??  I just checked the Stedman's site and really cannot afford that kind of money right now.  Do any of you recommend a hard copy book that would keep me updated???  Thank you for any suggestions.

How do you organize your information for quick reference?

So, if you work for a company, and have more than one hospital/account/client, how do you keep all of that information organized and easy to access, etc? Notebook, folders..? I

Quick Look Drug Book

The company I recently began working for asked me to purchase the Quick Look Drug Book as a reference tool, as they use it.  So, I got one...bought it used online so it wasn't that expensive, and I was needing a new drug reference book anyway.

I am just not impressed with this book.  While it does have very useful information in it, I find it is not laid out in the most convenient manner.  The drugs are listed alphabetically by the generic name.  So, what if the doc says the brand name of a drug?  How am I to use this book to look up the spelling, etc. of a brand name drug if I don't know the generic name of the drug so I can find it???  I have hardly used this book at all since I got it....I still go online to look up meds.  I feel like I wasted my money.

Maybe I'm just missing something here.  If anyone has any insight please let me know.  Or if any of you have a better suggestion for a drug guide that is laid out in a better format for MTs, I am open to suggestions.

TIA!!

? re Quick Look Electronic Drug Ref

I'm trying to do a wildcard search for the endings of drug names, eg, *sartan. I read the help file and tried ~, (), ?, and nothing is working. I read the FAQ on the Stedman's web site and it appears to skirt the question and refer the questioner to the help file.

Am I correct that the new 2006 QLEDR does not allow searches for just the endings of drugs? If so, what a waste of money that was.

Quick Look Drug Book CD
Can anyone tell me if they use the Quick Look Drug Book and CD?  I am thinking about purchasing the 2006 set for about $80, the 2007 is not available yet
quick look drug book

Hello-

Could you give me some advice on drug reference books? Do you recommend people wait for the quick look drug book '08?  Or is there a site online to search for drug information?

I'm new here, and am still studying to be a MT, so I'd like a recommendation from someone who knows  :)

I hope I'm not asking a question already asked 100 times...

Thanks!
Sharon

Quick Look Drug Book
I would highly recommend Quick Look Drug Book. It is the cheapest book I have found, and it is is the only one I have seen that lists the drugs in both alphabetical order as well as by indication/treatment. In my opinion, it is the drug book with the best format.
Stedmans for word reference, ADI or Quick Look for drugs.
I also like Tessier's surgical word book by Saunders and I'm pretty sure I have a Vera Pyle or two around here a well.
Nice site for quick reference links
Thought some would find this useful - esp newbies.
I got a copy of Quick Look Elec Drug Ref...
of my very own...not too shabby I don't guess!
I vote for Quick Look Drug Books
Very, very helpful.  Also Stedman's word books quite quite handy.  Googling comes a long way, but I tend to like the books better.  Dorland's medical dictionary is a must have and also electronic spell checkers are great/CDs loaded on PC.
Quick Look Drug Book 2007 (sm)
CD version.  Does anyone have this and like it?  I have the 2005 version, and could not see much difference in the 2006 QLDB.  Any comments appreciated.
Anybody Use Quick Look Drug Book 2007?

Do you like it? I just received mine yesterday. It does not put a link on the Word  toolbar like the old one did. I called support and they downloaded a file for me to load and now it's on the toolbar, but now I get the message "QLDB.exe" not found.

I have uninstalled (like tech support said) and re-installed but still get the same message.

I checked the CD and it does not seem to have this file on it. Does anyone else have this problem? My task bar is already full so I really need it on the Word toolbar. Thanks

Still make Drake and Drake drug reference?

I had this in the past and loved it, but now I don't seem to find it.  Do they not make this any longer? If not, what seems to be a good replacement that you use?  I need to update my reference books.

Thanks.

Asked on the drug board...ever heard of a T-Teck Pack for pneumonia? Cant find any info on it. Help!

Quick Look Drug Book (book & CD/ROM)..sm..

Does anyone use both.  I'm definitely getting the CD/ROM and am debating about buying both.  I don't see any reason to have both but there could be something I don't know.

I noticed CD/ROMs are on backorder but they're selling downloadable versions.  I can handle that.

Good drug book vs. internet drug sites
I need to buy a new drug book.  At a prior job, about a year ago, one of the supervisors told me she used the internet exclusively.  What's the consensus and if you prefer the internet, which site or sites do you like.  Thanks in advance.

Class of 2006
Who said 0.00 because its just a high school graduation?  My middle son just graduated this year and we did give him a huge graduation party with a buffet, cake, ice cream, balloons, napkins imprinted with his name and "Class of 2006" on them, etc.  We did the party here in our home on a Sunday afternoon and invited family, close friends and a few teachers he had kept in touch with through the years.  Yes, it was his job to earn the diploma and such was expected of him; however, the party was our reward to him for a job well done.  He did receive lots of gifts -- some were money, some were things for college, etc.  The monetary gifts ranged from $5 to $200.  My son was just as grateful for the $5 gifts as he was for the $200 (grandparents).  He also received only cards from a few people who attended, and he was still grateful for their sharing his special day.  One of the gifts he was most excited about was a gift card to a bookstore.  He spent a couple of hours wandering around trying to decide what books he wanted to purchase.  Another gift he cherishes to this day is "A Book of Prayers for the Graduate."  Don't give more than you can afford.  If a card is the best one can do, then its enough because they're acknowledging an accomplishment and milestone in a young adult's life.
The 5th edition was put out in 2006. Definitely

Not able to see 2006 posts
How do I get to see posts from 2006?  The archives seem to show me 2004 and 2005.  Sorry if this is an obvious answer, but I am not seeing it.

$35K in 2006, PT. Last year sm
Argh! Probably about $28 to $30K. Took a job that kept running out of work. I have a full time job now and a PT IC. I think I will break $40K for 2008. I HOPE I do anyway.
Right, retired in 2006...sm
Due to medical problems, and I am certainly not up on the latest technology or who is getting what type of work. When I retired, V/R was just becoming widespread and I never was involved in it. I just loved the ESLs, but maybe they have gotten worse/more careless/truly don't GAS. My sister had one that I could hardly understand either.

Don't worry about the test. Like Iowan said, just register and take it. I had to drop mine when I retired, but I enjoyed having it when I was working. :)

Anyone else really disappointed with the 2006 QLDB?

This latest version seems like a beta version.  Could it be more time consuming with all the clicking, scrolling, and tabs required to click on?  Even the new search feature stinks as it does not bring what you typed in to the top, it just leaves it on the bottom and you must scroll to bring it up.  This one is definitely NOT built for production.  Has anyone figured out how to import things from previous versions of their drug book into this one?  I cannot figure it out with this version and my e-mails to them for help have gone unanswered thus far.

Is it faster than paging through a book?  Yes.  Is it up to the standards of their previous QLDBs?  Not in my opinion and I have been very happy with the electronic version since 1999.

is now charging a supplement payment for smokers and those that live with smokers. Does anyone else have this policy or getting for the next year? This not through MT companies.
