Help! My fingers aren't working!
Have you ever had a day when your fingers just don't want to cooperate? I feel like they have a mind of their own this morning! I'm having to backspace every other word because they keep throwing a letter in there or typing them out of order!

Maybe they are trying to tell me to TAKE A BREAK! LOL

Did you change you clothes detergent or anything?- sm
My DH has very sensitive skin and that has happened to him when Tide changed their "no bleach alternative" detergent about 8 years ago. I switched to Cheer and no more problem. But it sound like an allergic reaction to something and should get checked out asap.
I make a second living off ebay! I have sold maternity clothes, baby clothes, tupperware, and I have
Christmas dresses and boys' outfits that I will be listing in the next month or so that I bought last year at a smocked closeout and paid 8-10 a piece. Price tags read anywhere from 56 to 88.00 dollars and I will get approximately 25 to 40 a piece depending on what brands and size they are. Plus they pay shipping. I sold approx 35 Christmas outfits on ebay last year which paid for my Christmas. It was awesome and I'll do it again this year! Good luck.

Oh, you do have to have a credit card, bank acct. for ebay. It is worth it though. They just have to verify who you are.
You can check out my auctions with momof3boysal
fingers not working today

I have had my days with horrible dictors, and today I have a dream dictor, could no thave been happier to get her and my fingers do not work.  I can't seem to type anything correctly. lol.  Thank goodness I proof my work before sending - thank goodness for spellcheckers and grammar checkers - cause I suck today lol

Does anybody else have that kind of day - or is it just me? Now be nice lol

i also think she has had some surgery. if you look at her sister w/o surgery you can see what she would really look like w/o the extra surgical help. Drop dead ugly.
maybe it's just a tired supervisor who can't get those fingers working
Or do supervisors have to know how to type at all?  Just want a different job in MT field that's all and no smart A$$ answer from a "thinging" supervisor.
You aren't working in both versions.
That's why Word is working okay for you. If you want to work in both versions then the oldest one has to be installed first so the registry will know how to handle both.
No, they aren't. I made $10 an hour working
in-house plus measly production bonuses. I made $30-50 per hour working IC at home for a small MTSO.
If you are biusy working, then you aren't loving your child
like you should be either. I don't think you can judge all daycares. My daughter goes to a daycare and the only thing I can say they are guilty of is spoiling her to death. Her main sitter there has taught her to call her mama and then her first name because she loves her so much. The other has taught her to call her me-maw. They love her to death. They come to her birthday parties, they buy her gifts, no matter what time of day you pop in someone is loving on her, reading to her, playing a game with her...the things I can't do while I'm working.
Tip on Aching Wrists/Target Laundry Detergent!
Okay, I have hesitated sharing this one for a long time now, cause I know, absolutely know, I will get flamed somehow, cause its sort of silly, but its not silly to those of us whose wrists and/or arms are shot from this "career".  I have really bad wrists now AND elbows - actually if your wrists hurt, chances are your tendons are aggravated right up to your elbow, too, though the pain might not localize there.  At any rate, I also found my wrist would hurt with some "ADLs", mostly laundry.  No matter what size of detergent I bought, they were always heavy, and the motion of pouring deturg into the cups really hurt my right wrist. Sometimes I could even hear an audible "pop" on that motion of holding this heavy bottle and pouring. My physical medicine guy said it was the motion of that with the weight on top of typing that wreaked havoc on my wrists, and that even lots of women who don't type have popped their tendons out using laundry detergent!  Well, this is SO stupid, but...a few months ago I went to Target and saw their brand "Method" laundry detergent.  Its super concentrated and fits 32 loads in a tiny bottle. Plus, its like those mouthwash dispensers where you just hold the bottle upright and squeeze and a tiny bit of the detergent fills in a tiny cup at the top. You fill to the line, which takes all of 1 second, and that's all the detergent you need! Plus, this stuff is awesome with the laundry.  Prior to that, only Tide could get my kids clothes clean. This stuff is the BEST, and it smells great! Its about $6 for this bottle, which I would have thought expensive, but the savings on my wrists are priceless!  My carpal tunnel and elbow tendonitis have nearly completely healed. It was just this stupid combo of motions that did my wrists in!  For those older MTs like me, who've been at this for over 20 years, try it! It might help!!  Again, I see a sports med guy, and get injections occasionally. I used to have to wear wrist braces, etc.  I was scheduled for surgery until I started using this silly Target laundry detergent! Now, no more pain!  Isn't that so weird? But neat?
You could bathe with a gentle shampoo or even dish detergent, rinse well and if you have vinegar do

a vinegar rinse and then do a final rinse.   This might drown the fleas or at least stun them.  If dog is light colored you might be able to see them and pick them off when dog is wet.   If you have a dog brush, brush it outside and you might get some off that way.  If you have tea tree oil you can put some around its neck area or on a collar if you have one.   This is a fairly strong smell though and we've always had to wash it off the same day, though lots of people swear by this.   I can't think of anything else you can do with stuff you already have around the house.

We adopted 3 kittens from the shelter and have never had a flea problem, but now we can't seem to get rid of them and my dog is on 3 different treatments and I still find an occasional flea.  She has developed a sensitivity to bites too and scratches all the time and can't take prednisone because she has Cushings.

Growing up we had a tri-colored Pembroke corgi.  He was the sweetest thing and I still miss him terribly, 30 years later.

The company which starts with a laundry detergent and ends with water? Gonna delete that too admin?

Still need help & clothes, etc...

Just wanted to say that a lot of people from our church (Northridge Baptist) are sending clothing, canned food, as well as soap, shampoo, baby things, etc., down to the Missions in every city because people are so WITHOUT anything!  There are soup kitchens everywhere that have people waiting out in the street, and on top of that? We are expecting another hit here pretty soon, towards next weekend of another hurricaine! I don't know really how much more people can take but I know I went online and sent a fax to Montgomery, Alabama, to Richard Shelby (Alabama's Representative there) and I'm waiting to hear from him to give us information about more placed to help. As soon as I get some information I will post again.  As someone said, there are plenty who just haven't gotten anything yet, and we don't even know where or who they are!  Thank everyone for helping; it sure pulls a *country* together when people are searching and needing support and they get it from others who they don't even know!  To them? Those people are heros (and the paper is just too busy to report on anything good; they are busy writing about all the horrible things to add to the disaster of it all).  Thanks for letting me vent!  Alabama MT girl

clothes
To begin with, I HATED going to an office, so I don't want to get dressed and pretend I am. I'm with you sister - flannel jama pants if cold enuf and I buy men's HUGH 5X Tshirts, short sleeves. The sleeves comes midway down my arms and to my knees. Great for winter sleeping - great for summer sleeping wo jama pants, and bathing suit cover-ups. I have a pool. In the summer, I word in my bathing suit or cotton play suit and if some unfortunate soul comes to h the door, I throw on the tee - and sometimes I just work in my skivvies and my T's and to heck with whoever comes to the door. I do brush on makeup, or I would even scare myself.
Kids and clothes
Well that gives me hope. Thanks. I did try buying them clothes but you could hear their groans clear across the country. They chucked the clothes into a corner of a closet and never wore them. I took them shopping recently and they turned their nose up at anything I would choose for them.

I hope it's just a phase. I've seen plenty of 40-year-old women wearing slutty clothes and I would feel awful if they grew up to do that. I used to have problems knowing how to dress too. Unfortunately the way I found out about it was most embarrassing. I was reprimanded at work for my appearance. How humiliating! At least I got the message and tried to do better. I would rather they found out from me than find out from their boss like I did.
yep, I go to Old Navy and look at their clothes for my girls
Or Wal-Mart and look at all the stuff I want!  that does it for me!
kids clothes these days

The skimpy little outfits the girls get away with wearing to SCHOOL, just boggles my mind.  Heck, most are shorter than my old gym clothes...remember those days?  Girls could not even be SEEN by the boys in our gimmies...modesty is not in these days it seems...and the boys

Well when my son tried the baggy britches, I did just that when he was going up the stairs in front of me...pulled the d&%$ things down, one warning..catch you like that again and you will be wearing a uniform

Kids' clothes today
The girls (even the little ones) all dress like little sluts nowadays-- I blame the so-called "stars" who encourage this "sexy" look.  Teenaged boys are "terminally horny" anyway without egging them on.  It is any wonder we have so many teen pregnancies nowadays?  I think by dressing and acting so "old", they are missing out on their childhood years and will be all "burned out" by the time they are 20, not to mentioned having 5 kids by that time (all with different fathers, no doubt), and on welfare with no life at all.
i wish my clothes were loose...i guess they would be if i would

They used to wash clothes by hand, too,
Would you tell someone with a laundromat that washing all those clothes can be done on a washboard?

Fact is, just as those brought up in this generation possibly wouldn't survive in our world "back then," we probably wouldn't have survived in our parents' world back in their times. You can't miss what you've never had, and we didn't know any different/better. As I said, they used to use washboards for their clothes and outhouses to pee, but by golly, I don't see many people doing that anymore, except maybe the Amish. It's no different with spellcheck, expanders, etc.
We could learn to sew and make our own clothes.

really cute kids clothes at Old Navy...nm

I LOVE shopping for clothes at resale stores

I find fashionable, barely worn, name brand clothes. It really is fun!! I couldn't imagine paying for new clothes anymore!

It's a little harder to find good kids' clothes at the second hand stores, but I have found some really nice ones that are real bargains.

I forgot to mention how I save money on clothes...sm

The clearance racks are my best friends - often times I can find things there cheaper than on consignment or at Good Will.

Another thing I do is that I have a friend whose daughter is 1 size smaller than my daughter is, so in return for me giving her the hand-me-downs she will occasionally buy my daughter something new or give me the amount of money that I'd get if it went to consignment, and I don't have to deal with waiting for a consignment check.

If your kids/you like named brand items for clothing eBay can be great.  My sister buys my nephew's Abercrombie clothes on eBay for usually around $10 a shirt - these are shirts that normally sell for $35-45 in the stores.

Another thing I do is that I have a friend who wears the same sizes that I do and we have similar clothing tastes, so we often do "clothes swap" where we'll swap out some jeans, shirts, etc.  That way it sorta seems like you're getting something new.

I think you handled it well. You wouldn't feel so good about those clothes if you cut off your

at the same time.  Thanks for sharing this tip with us!
When we are not making a decent enough wage to buy our kids food and clothes, it is like (inside)
the little kid who wants a toy from another child and runs to his mother and whines "he won't give it to me." Just another way for them to try to force more money out of already tired pockets. I for one will not pay for that until they fight for wages to be increased. Let them go out of business like a lot of us have had to do. Now they want to make us pay for the lack of money they are getting from India because I am sure they aren't buying into it, and believe me I don't hate the Indians for wanting to work, it is not them, it is the American company's greed. When transcription companies can spend millions and millions of dollars to buy each other out, you know it is a lucarative business.

Why are they cramming voice down our throats at half pay? You can't tell me they are taking half pay, plus half pay is not enough when speech is not trained.

Vote for Obama! He says he will close the loop holes for American Corporations to send our jobs overseas.
same here- my fingers just do not

.... with fingers.

Could it be something on your fingers?
And I ask that in all seriousness and no offense meant. I have had 3 MS Keyboards and have not worn the letters off any of them. Are you maybe putting some kind of lotion on your hands that would eat the letters off? Maybe if you get the sticky letters another poster was talking about you could stick the letters on the front of the keys instead of the top so they don't wear off, but you can still see them.
Nothing to do with your fingers sm
The "Million Dollar Question" was once, "What is the most used vowel in the English Languate?" I supposed "E" as this lasts least on my keyboard.Guess what - it was "e" - DON'T THINK IT WAS ANSWRED CORRECTLY but we who pound the keyboard would have known. Understand 1110 per cent!
Ya know what FINGERS

You speak ridiculous.... let's all tell our employers we are not working until..........

The idea was to organize and get all your ducks in a row.  If you are going to do something, do it with a plan and organize.  You can't just jump the gun and go into something blindly.  You will look ridiculous and get nothing accomplished.

Cold fingers
Even though I keep my house comfortable, I find my fingers getting cold when I type.  Is it just me. Does anyone have any suggestions.
frozen fingers
do you guys have troubles with her hands getting cold? and what do you do about it?
cold fingers
All the time when I start out before the work area is sufficiently warmed up with the SPACE HEATER. Space heater essential to get fingers going.
let ur fingers do the walking
No....but I transcribed asleep once. I was working 3rd shift and dozed off. I don't know how I managed to work the foot pedal and my C-phone and go through several reports. Luckily for me I woke up and realized what I had done. I scrambled to put my last several reports on hold to check them before the doctor received them who was one hallway over. It scared me so bad I wasn't sleepy for the rest of the night. I've never let myself sit there that sleepy anymore either. I get up and walk around to get myself more alert. Funny thing was I was not transcribing what the doctor was saying. I was using some of their phrases. I guess I would hear a word and it would trigger my memory and I would type a regular phrase. Scared the bejeebers outta me that is for sure!
trained fingers
Makes me think of what it is like for your fingers to "know" a telephone number but for the life of me I couldn't tell you what it is--I'd have to dial it for you.
Cold Fingers
Try typing gloves! I have the same problem. They do help some. I also have been known to sit on a heating pad while typing -- helps warm me up.
Actually the ones I have do not have fingers, just a thumb.

I really love them, There is a strap around the wrist to adjust the tightness, but the neoprene is a great fabric that seems to work really well for me.  I hate to recommend anything because sometimes what is good for one is not so good for another.  I would recommend going to a surgical supply store and they should let you try them on, that is what I did.

fumbling fingers

When that happens to me, I consciously slow down and meticulously try to make no errors and eventually increase my speed.  That seems to help me.

Another trick is to not think about your fingers at all, but still slow down a bit, and then you will find you are on the right track again after a while.  I think it also happens when the dictator does not speak in a good flow of words, is choppy and starts and stops a lot.  Your rhythm is off when that happens.

Hope this helps.

Gee you must have bionic fingers

and/or a very good line rate.  How do you do it?

The only movement should be fingers. I have
and keyboard where I dont have to reach up or down to type. I wedge a pillow between the arm of chair and my body so arm is resting on pillow and supported.  Also have comfort keyboard configured like capital L and reverse capital L.  Hands are in neutral handshake postion at all times.  Also have left backspace bar set up as backspace to stop groping of backspace key (I have small hands).  Took a lot of tweaking and paying attention to what I was doing to streamline things.  Also am streamlining all aspects of work.  Every second I can shave off is more money in my pocket.
lol. I figured my fingers
got all jumbled up and I somehow did it to myself.  It would be quite a coincidence if we both jumbled up the same way at the same time, I think.  Maybe we can get some help from the site administrators.
fingers won't work
Your mind and fingers seem to be at odds. Try to relax more and have a look out the window and maybe free your mind some.
Could be other things also on the fingers sm
I have had my MS Natural keyboard for about 7 years, and the only key that is fading is the N. It wasn't until I left my previous company a few months ago and had to send back their computer that this key started getting messed up. The difference? My kids, my husband, and I all use this one computer now, and I am constantly on them to stop eating at the computer. My mother-in-law is a constant on-line game player and eats at her desk frequently. She has gone through about 5 keyboards in the same 7 years due to the letters wearing off. We're getting another computer soon, and I'm buying a new keyboard for myself so we do not have this issue again.
Let's hear it for bionic fingers!! (nm)

I was not pointing fingers at a particular region, sm
just pointing out that we in the Northeast have our share of bad weather.  In fact, we get just about everything here.  Blizzards, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, droughts, even earthquakes for that matter, albeit, minor earthquakes in the last century.  Highest recorded winds were on top of Mt. Washington in New Hamphshire.  Been there several times.  Cold.  It's expensive to live here, too.  Due to proximity to the Big Apple, we get a lot of celebrities and rich types living here, driving up the per capita, while the rest of us pay the price at the pump, for real estate, you name it.   Nobody tries to give us a hand.  Just take from us.  Funny, I work for a national, but don't get paid anymore than those in lower expense areas.  When I worked for corporations before MT, pay was gauged to the region of the country we lived in.  Those on west coast and Northeast made a little more because of the expenses in our areas.
Painful fingers from typing
I experience sore, aching fingers each day from typing.  Because of this, I cannot do more than 1000 lines a day.  Ibuprofen helps somewhat.  I do not know what is wrong.  The knuckles appear a bit enlarged and upon waking in the morning each finger appears swollen.  I am a thin person.  I wear fleece gloves with no fingers all day while typing for warmth.  This is more than just an annoyance  but rather something that gets bad enough that I have trouble concentrating on typing because all I can think of is the pain.  The doctor I saw was no help at all.  Anyone else having this problem?
Keep your fingers on the keyboard and not the mouse. sm
I average anywhere from 500 to 600 lines an hour on recognized files; however, it took a little while to get there.

There are eScription provides tips and shortcut keys so you do not have to use the mouse (a lot of control + keys).

Do you have those tips? If not, I could try to e-mail them to you.
