While in a Word document, type -year-old.  Then, highlight.  Next, do Alt+T, select autocorrect.  Name it yo.  Then selected formatted text instead of plain text.  Then, hit okay.  You should be able to type 49yo and it should expand to 45-year-old.  This will also work to bold entries or if you have a report where you want to make a normal, do the same thing.  Type the whole report first, check for spelling errors, and then save as a formatted text.
