Open a new document.  Click on Tools, then Options.  Make sure the field codes box is check and change the field shading to "when selected."  Now type all the headings as they would appear in your report.  Make sure that you turn off bold at the end of each heading as you go along.  After you turn off bold at the end of each heading type "Ctrl-F9"  This will add a field at the end of the heading.  Move your cursor outside the field before moving on to the next heading.  Put everything in the document that would be in every report, headings, signature line, initials, etc.  Click File, then Save As.  Change "Save As Type" to Document Template.  Name it for the doctor or acct it goes with, so you can easily identify it.  Now click on File, New and select the template you just created.  Use F11 to jump to each heading.  If you need to make changes to a template, you have to open the template "the hard way."  Double clicking on a template will not open the template, it will open a new document based on that template.  To open a template, you have to open Word, then click File, Open, then open the template.  Then you can make changes to it and save as usual.  Try this and see how many Keystrokes you save!
