I am sorry, I really am, and just was

trying to show you a different perspective of things, not trying to defend QA, really. I promise. I do understand. I used to have a QA person who I absolutely loathed, and I thought for sure she was out for me. I was new, too. This was in the days of paper and typing! Eeegads! I would pick up my work and my stomach was always in a knot when I had to go down the hallway toward the QA office. There would always be a copy of a report or 2 with mistakes all circled in red magic marker and comments. Oh my heavens, I wanted to die, and so often I thought things were just "preferences" as well, but...in the end, I now realize that she was just simply doing her job, proofreading and correcting my work. Red happens to be the color that is used, and there is no sweet way of pointing out an error in the grand scheme of things. I now realize that being on the other end. And this QA and the corrections and the constant nit-picking (which was just my hurt feelings) ended up sharpening my skills and made me the MT I am today.  The issues are probably grammar issues - sentence structure - client preferences - all these factors are why our profession really is a profession - there is so much more to it than typing. But remember, we all started out where you are now, and you will grow.
