Just keep in mind that you have to have software to upload the files to you.

Cheap handheld units sold on ebay do not offer that.  Those mentioned are older models and do not have the software to upload to FTP.  No offense to the last poster, but the handheld units that do have software to upload to FTP are newer models and cost more.

You're also taking your chances buying on ebay, so OP, whatever you decide to do, make sure to only buy from Powersellers or sellers with no less than a 98 rating.

Under tools/options, you can have it upload the files once the recorder is detected. I ...

have all of my accounts set up this way.  It makes it much easier and all the doc has to do is plug in the recorder.  I use DocShuttle with Olympus DS-2300 recorders.

Hope this helps.

There is an upload hanheld icon on the tool bar of the Olympus software.

Core is software to upload and downloads. It's not a hosting site.

Software to auto-print files

"Isn't there some way to have the files print when I get them?"

Many offices voice this wish, and Emmaus is pleased to announce an affordable solution ($49).

When the office receives transcription (via email, ftp download, or PC Anywhere), they put those files into the folder they've told MPMonitor and Print to watch. These files can be Word documents or password protected zip files. MPMonitor and Print will unzip if necessary and print using the user's copy of MS Word.

Best wishes,

that is exceptional!!! do they have a software platform or use ftp files?
I find that downloading FTP file slows me down. Could just be me though. I prefer an actual platform.
software to transfer files quick
Is there any software out there that is cheap and transfers my files easy, as I am running out of space on my computer and would like to transfer them to a cd disc for each year.  I already created the folders.  Any help would be appreciated.
Looking for Software to Organize Digital Voice Files

Anyone know of good software that can take my digital voice files and organize them so I can keep track of which worker is working on which doctor, keep an eye on turnaround time, etc. -- instead of making endless folders on the computer myself. Voice files are separate from the typed reports, which are done in Word. Thank you.

Dave

A WAV pedal controls playback of voice files. You need a software program through which to play the

The term "WAV pedal" has become a generic term. The software that you use will determine the file type(s) that you are able to play on your computer. You use either a pedal or hot keys (Fkeys) to control that playback. As stated below, Express Scribe is one such software program and it is free. It can be found by clicking on the link below.

Found the original post about the Olympus WS110 - do I need olympus software to convert the files?

upload/download...
i know nothing about wireless -- but with DSL mine were taking only about 15 seconds when i signed on. Then i got a replacement machine and it was back to about 5 min to do the initial upload. Tech support said there were problems with the new DQS version, so my replacement machine was reverted to old version. Don't know if any of this is helpful, but that's all i can offer...
I think if the FTP is "secure" you just upload using either their -sm
website using IE or using an FTP transfer program. I am actually looking into this myself right now. Was thinking about Metroscript but they charge way too much, $15 a month + .34/mb uploaded to the site. It would cost me a min. of $135 a month to use it. So I am looking into those that offer secure FTP but with no fees other than the monthly usage flat fee. I have no idea about cable, I use dial up (no cable or DSL here). As for inspectors, I highly doubt that will ever happen.
Not by email. You have to upload sm
to another site, zip the filed and send.  Try sendthisfile.com
Satellite upload speed is not much (sm)
better than dial-up. A lot of companies don't allow it because their own crappy platforms will time out waiting for your upload. You just need to look for companies that don't use a platform. Keep looking! There's some MTSO out there looking for you!
Cool! Try photobucket.com to upload them to

I have mine all upload from a folder on my PC.
I just go and periodically clean out that folder.
upload voice file
A good way to upload a voice file is to send it by FTP to an in-house computer. This keeps it off email and the web.

How long does it take for you to download/upload jobs?
I am wondering if I have a slow connection or if it is DocQScribe uploading/downloading jobs too slow.  I have wireless internet because it is the only service available in my area besides dial up.  Would love to hear some feedback on this.  Thanks
Listen/read/proof and then upload

I don't do VR right now, but when I did I would only go through it once.  Only on a very long one would I ever go back through it again and only if I had a problem would I listen to the whole thing again.  I started out doing that and realized I was never going to make above $4 an hour if I kept that up.

I used satellite with 2 different platforms and the download and upload speeds were just
that satellite was just a 'step up' from dialup, but it was WAAAAY faster and very comparable to the cable and DSL I previously had. I had more down time with both of those because the companies do not want to spend the money to repair connections and lines running to the individual homes (this from a Bellsouth tech after his 8th visit to my house). Plus, living here in Florida, I was able to work last year during and after swipes by 4 hurricanes. Our phones were out for 2 weeks and cable was out all over town for even longer. Just plugged my surge protector into the generator and off to work I went. Give me my satellite any day! Thank you so much for your encouragement! Right now I guess I'll just ride my horse for a couple hours. We are surrounded by federal preserve land. There are miles and miles of trails with old plantation ruins. Very relaxing. In spite of not working, I do love my life!!!!
Another question - are you able to stay under the upload/download threshold? nm
nm
I agree! They're looking for you to upload to a network drive,
which is totally not your responsibility to provide for them. If they don't want to install a network and dedicated drive, they can turn on their file sharing but allow ONE computer to be the master computer. All other computers would have access to the shared folder on the "main" computer. However, they would HAVE to be sure they uploaded the files again to the main drive after making changes.

As for the search feature, they've already got that built into Windows. Start Menu, Search for Documents, Advanced Search options, "A word or phrase contained in the document," type the patient's name into the box, and specify which drive to search on. Hit OK and voila!
Your mind was in the gutter up there with sauteed stool, too. Would you please take your mind out of

Yeah, you're right. Who cares who licenses your software? Heck, I use all pirated software anyw

why pay for anything, right?

Converting voice files to digital files

I have a Voice Solutions dictation system that will happily convert DS4000 voice files to digital when they are downloaded (wave files). However, it will not recognize any other files for conversion. I had a physician download .WAM files from his DS-30 and my dictation system would not convert it. Anyone have any suggestions?  I would greatly appreciate any input.

Thanks!!!

if you purchase bytescribe/docshuttle, you can actually upload the completed work back on there. nm

If u need server software, try guild ftp. If just user software
then try cuteftp, coffeecupftp, or wsftp. They don't charge a line rate and I believe guildftp server software is still free.
Did you save files in .rtf format? The files need to be
as a Word document or it won't count them. Could be the problem.
Most companies do no use their only files (HIPAA). They use files provided by other companies, serv
If you can get through the test files, then the sound quality on the actual company files is better. And, the dictation is never as bad as the test files, plus you have QA to help with hard blanks.
Another big factor is software. If the software isn't
transcription friendly, it can really hurt your bottom line.

Otherwise, $1.20 per report is a pretty decent rate for radiology.

Good luck - hope it works out for you.
Would you mind ...
sharing that site with me? You can email me personally at kathy.eberle@gmail.com. I did get that very email and would like to know what everyone else has to say! Thanks!

LOL! Never mind - I see it now.
I was sure it wasn't there a minute ago!
Keep in mind, please......
That if a company has more than, say, 10 accounts, that the recruiters just might not KNOW how difficult an account is. When you get a requisition for account #67, there's no telling whether it's the best account on the planet, or the worst.
Don't mind
Actually don't mind the lower income right then, because I am selling my house and can afford to lose a little, knowing that after the first of the year or so I can get my line count back up.
keep in mind
In addition to the good comments made above you must also be aware that if you are going to a program that may upgrade occasionally and is not static you may well run the risk of losing your autotext entries.  If you are really good about backing up your files, good for you and no problems really, but if you are like the rest of us and forget more than you remember to back up .. you could have one horrible day when you see the file not convert or some such ugly thing!

how good you are feeling since beginning the drug, and that all drugs are very individual in how they event anyone.  You really should not make a decision for yourself regarding some one's experience.

Do you mind me asking...
what company do you work for and are they hiring? I have been an Editor for 15 years and am having a hard time find a good company to work for. Thanks
Please keep in mind that many
of the people on this site work at home. Some have forgotten (some never knew) how to interact with others in a courteous and professional manner.

There are many, but the ones that come to mind first are...
I love him because of the way he loves me. He's not fake, pretentious or condescending. He's funny, talented, and is a true gentleman in every sense of the word. Besides that, he's not afraid to go to the store JUST for a box of tampons ;) ... He's the absolute best and I've never been happier.
I do not mind either
Usually, if I am visiting at my mother's house and need to go online, I will ask but it is not a big deal & vice versa. But it all depends on what they want to use the computer for. When we ask each other to use the computer, it is always just to quickly look something up online & it never involves using that person's computer programs or going into their files or anything like that - just the Internet.
never mind!
was able to recover - Whew!
I don't mind .... sm

If young and older American men and woman love America so much that they are willing to go to a for foreign land to protect my liberties with their lives - I certainly will assume the responsibility of freedom for all by letting the government see who I call.  Frankly, my phone call list is very boring I am afraid.

So to those who want to make a big deal over nothing (as long as you have nothing to hide), remember who is giving up . .  an easier way of making a living (so that you can sit back, fat and sassy) . .  an 8 hour work shift five days a week making far less than us (so you can make the money you feel you deserve and are entitled to). .  being separated from their families (while we are all getting ready to celebrate mother's day with our families) . . .all because of the love for OUR country and THEIR fellow citizens.

STOP - LOOK- LISTEN - Is it your brother, your father, your uncle, your sister, your mother, your aunt, your fiance, your neighbor, your life long friend? - we all are God's precious children.

God Bless to all of our military and to you and your family - Pray for a United America.

I don't mind at all
If they do this and find terrorists in this country and can stop them before they do something else horriffic, I don't mind at all.
I don't mind at all
I think you have misunderstood my post. I was just saying that one MT might make $16,000 per year at 8 cpl and another MT might make double or triple that. Maybe even more. Being an experienced MT I know that it can depend on many factors, that is what I was trying to express. I'm sorry if you misunderstood.

Realistically, I don't think a new MT or even an experienced MT should anticipate $100K per year. So, if you still want my opinion, my guess would be that at 8 cpl, 40 hour week, you would probably make $30,000 to $35,000. Good luck!
