I started taking care of my mom over 10 years ago, first with a dx of cancer. She was still relatively independent. Now she has several medical conditions. If I had it to do over again, I would not have done this. It has become, "my job". When I first started, I did not foresee the multiple medical problems she now has. I should have never done this, she should have gone into a nursing home 5 years ago. When this is over, I will never take care of anyone but myself again. You cannot change your siblings, believe me.

        Nursing homes/care facilities aren't all they are cracked up to be (sm) - lots of neglect in nursing homes.
