go to the ssa.gov site and do as much as you can online. You will have confirmation that it is done, print it out twice. Be patient. It is sometimes difficult dealing with the gov't. As for your brother, just be a sibling....This is taking up to much of your energy. Just do what you do and go on.

        Nursing homes/care facilities aren't all they are cracked up to be (sm) - lots of neglect in nursing homes.
