Buy some "Smart Gloves" sm

You can Google them on the net.  They're only about $20 bucks apiece, but they are the best!  They have saved me after taking on MT full time for the last year.

This is a wise, wise woman! nm
From a thankful gay guy who needed a word of encouragement tonight. God bless!
Obviously you are uneducated then
By the way, any high school moron can run a business.

You are immature and lack class.
Dummy invoice on its way. :) (nm)

Just search a little further, ok, so you don't really look like a dummy?
x
You don't sound like a dummy.

How the network is set up will depend on the building configuration. Some networks are wireless and others are connected via cables. If you're going with an inside IT person, they will choose how to do this. If you're going with an outside contractor, you can ask for estimates and go with what fits your budget.

The main thing you need to know is that your network must be secure and that there must be one hard drive that can be shared by all computers on the network.

1 person can only dummy down herself. If

Uneducated employer...

...if your prospective employer bothered to do the research, he/she would find out three things:  1) MTs cannot obtain malpractice insurance because MT(g) is not a medical practice, per se; 2) MTs can obtain liability insurance via the AAMT program for about $700 per year (company name forgotten, but I formerly had this insurance); and 3) if you are an employee, even work-at-home, you are supposed to be covered under their liability insurance (and Workers' Comp).  And I hope the 5 cents/line is for VR editing - a line rate that, IMO, is still a complete joke because you may end up deleting the whole report and transcribing it from scratch anyway!

Hey! My Mom's a manager at K-Mart! She's no dummy.
Retail management is something to be proud of as well, especially after having Martha Stewart hose her out of her retirement, corporate HQ trying to get rid of the older, higher paid employees in favor of youngsters willing to work for peanuts, and WalMart and Sam's trying to shut them down.
please help a math-dummy calculate

trying to figure cell phone plans (pay as you go type)....do i divide minutes by dollars, or dollars by minutes to get the cents per minute...

and more so, how does one know which way to divide other things of similar nature (not necessarily dollars vs minutes).

mega thanks .

Such anger! Clearly uneducated and frustrated.
accept responsibility or you're going to be pointing fingers into thin air for years to come.
Can you run a dummy invoice and email it? We would like to see if there is a problem & if so

Email attachment to either webmaster@mtstars.com or admin@mtstars.com

Thanks,

Dummy, don't feel bad. I've been doing this for 16 years

Yes, I am a complete computer dummy, but where is the battery and can I replace it myself?

You sound like a bitter, jealous, uneducated female.
Sorry, but I've been married to a blue collar man who beat the living crap out of me and destroyed my life in every way he possibly could. Turned my own mother against me, took my kids, laughed when I got cancer.

I am now married to a lawyer who treats me like a queen. It's wonderful to live a stress-free, hate-free existance and my kids and my mom have finally come around so I'm looking forward to a wonderful holiday for the first time in 6 years.

However, I would never say that ALL blue collar men are abusive, drunk, lazy slobs like my ex-husband is. That's generalizing and that's not fair, and certainly not correct.

I also wouldn't say that all corporate executives are perfect men either. That is also generalizing.

You don't sound like a prize yourself with your judgmental nature, dear. Time to take a step back and do some self-evaluation and perhaps get some therapy.
What street?
RadGuy, what street is this Arby's on?  According to an old post of yours on MT Stars we live in the same city, and I would like to stay away from that Arby's. Sheesh, what will they think of to offshore next?
There is one right down the street who gets out (sm)
He is cute, but the post office just sent us all a letter to keep our dogs in.  I hope he didn't chase the mailman.
Not street names, but how about....
the STUPID names they give the different models of new homes... When we bought ours, they were things like El Capitan, El Sonoro..... etc.  We bought the smallest and cheapest model and my DH always said that we bought the EL CHEAPO!
street names
Used to work on Blue Rock STREET...lived with my folks on Blue Rock ROAD...which has about 3 blocks of what people think are Cheviot Road...goes back to Blue Rock Road....then 5 miles away, next street over is OLD Blue Rock Road Road....creates havoc for delivery people
Street names
We have Easy Street and Boardwalk in our subdivision.
I was across the street from his house sm
on a public sidewalk. I kind of think the officer is wrong, too, but I can still file a complaint. Luckily, I had a witness who saw the whole thing, too. I just might go ahead and do it. This hand is hurting where the leash twisted around it. I can move everything okay, it's just pretty bruised.
Street signs
We have a road named Creedmoor Road. You will see signs with it spelled that way, but also Creedmore and Creedmoore. Oy! Hey - I wanna spell it "Criedmore."

Sesame Street! How appropriate.
x
I am one. Can I change my tune? Maybe I'm across the street.

I won't even use words to describe you - there are none.

My neighbor across the street did that...sold

I was dying to ask her how much she got for her house but didn't want to be too nosy, so I didn't.  She was pregnant with twins and near the end of her pregnancy and not able to work full time anymore, and her husband had lost a good job and was working at a lower paying job to just try to get by, and the house only had 2 bedrooms and they already had a son and were having twin girls, and she didn't say but I think they were having trouble paying their mortgage.

Anyway, although I don't know if they got a fair price for their house I know the whole transaction was very fast and easy.  She told me that THEY were allowed to set the date that the house changed hands; it was totally up to them.  The whole thing was done in a just a couple of weeks, because they wanted to move and get settled into a place (they rented a duplex) with more bedrooms before the twins were born.

She told me that part of the reason they sold it like that was that the house needed some work done to it before they tried to sell it, and they just didn't have the time or the money to do it.

But, I have to say the company that bought it didn't do anything either.  She told me they told her they were going to go in and do work to it and then rent or sell it.  Well they didn't do a thing that I saw - no one was ever there working on it.  They put a sign in the yard that it was for sale or rent and within a couple of weeks someone bought it.

You're full of sh*t. You should see the house across the street...sm
where they live. It's a total DUMP, and this is a pretty nice neighborhood. They've been arrested for selling meth supplies. They dump their garbage behind our house. They dump big pots of ??? (cooking oil, I think) down the storm drain in front of their house.

We tried being nice at first, but with behavior like this, I'm done. These people are just rude.

This is not "being prejudiced." This is having to deal with rude neighbors who are bringing OUR property values down with that weed-infested DUMP over there.

I don't believe you're Indian, just posing as one to stir the pot.
That's the word on the street - hijacked. We'll see. I like

Sounds cute! It's a street in Transcription City, USA
nm
*Ebonics* refers to the street slang, etc. (often heard in -sm
rap music, etc. Lots of white people, Hispanics, and even some Asians (all gangsta' wannabes) speak Ebonics as well. It's practically a second language in itself, so referring Ebonics-speakers to ESL isn't off the mark at all.
Reminds me of transients on street...Will work for food!

Working for 4 cpl and 2 cpl is the same as working for free.  To make a measly 40.00 a day, you'd have to type 1000 lines, not to mention that whopping 20.00 you'd make at 2 cpl rate with 1000 lines a day.  MT is not easy work regardless of if you have experience or are fresh out of school.  Heck, is there even a guarantee you would be given 1000 lines per day?

I can only imagine the portion of the total rate that is pocketed by SS.  I will guarantee it's a lot more than 4 cpl she is keeping for herself and charging to her clients.

My advice to anyone considering this internship:  Hit your books a bit harder, visit LWW.com, Stedmans.com, obtain reference books with samples, look on MT-related boards for folks offering to mentor, look for MTs needing help with their overflow work, and most of all, have a bit more respect for yourself and don't sell yourself short.

By the way, a minimum wage job pays better, and a tank of gas still costs more.

Sorry for the negativity, but ever since I saw that ad, I've wanted to puke over it.

I think I do now, but it used to his father - sm
If I would try to make plans, he would always say he had to see what his father was doing first because he might need help doing something on the family farm.  And this was BEFORE his mother passed away and I never understood it.  I know WHY he did it - loyalty and I think a sense of obligation - but I could never understand.  My feelings were in shreds on more than one occassion.  But things are much better now.  He's still there to help is father, but I don't feel like I'm running a distant second to him anymore.
my father tried it

My father signed up there but they wanted him to pay $2000 for food. I think it was for some kind of power bar or granola bar and they wanted him to buy $2000 worth. He said he did not want to buy them but they charged his card the $2000 anyway. Needless to say, he immediately withdrew his membership.

He went to Weight Watchers and so far, so good.

My father....

was in many ways a man before his time... My parents' marriage started out very traditional with my dad earning all the money and my mother at home having and caring for the babies.  However, my dad was the type who LOVED babies and little ones and would come home and feed or sit up all night with a sick child.  Slowly, the tables began to turn.  He encouraged my mom to get an education and she eventually began working (as an MT I might add) when I was about 12 (I was the baby).  By the time I was 19 of 20 my father was laid off at age 58 and my mother had become a department supervisor and made all the money.  My mother had private accounts and actually taught my father to transcribe, which he did until he died about 12 years later.  He did the paperwork and billing and delivering too.  That made him feel useful.  He would shop and cook and do the laundry and have dinner ready for my mom when she got home from work.  Talk about a complete 180 degree in a marriage.  My father was not perfect, but he was steady and dependable and you always knew that he loved you.  My husband is very much the same.

my father uses WW
He has diabetes and a heart condition so it is critical that he maintains his diet & a healthy body weight. So far, he has been really happy with WW and it really has been helping him reach his dietary goals. Good luck to you.
I'm really sick of the stupid suburbia street names recently too
Trying to sound so woodsy and rustic. Meanwhile the houses all are different shades battle-ship gray and look like they've been stamped out with a cookie cutter. Really lame.
Lady across the street says she wears a "J". I asked does that stand for "jugs?" lol

it sounds like Father, May I.....*tsk tsk*..nm

Loss of father
To wimt: I lost both parents within 7 days of each other. I cried off and on for a couple of years. It takes time to heal and everyone is different. It always helps to surround yourself with people you feel comfortable with and you feel give you support. Plus, grief counseling never hurts--only helps. Good luck to you.
Katharine's Father
I was thinking the same thing about Katharine's father. They'll probably have to hold him up. All he does is cry whenever she sings. Imagine if she wins?
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all you men
out there!
I took care of my father
for last two years of his life. I barely had time to work because it became so time consuming taking care of him and two little kids. It was very difficult to get any help, and social services can only do so much.

I would think long and hard before making the move. How will you care for your mother if you are working full time, perhaps have to travel across town to see her, take her to doctor visits, and still take care of two kids? My Dad lived on the other side of my duplex so I was right there and it was still incredibly difficult.

If anything, I would advise moving in with her or maybe she could move to Georgia. Good luck whatever you decide.
Idaho case was botched in that a convicted sexual offender was out on the street to
kidnap this little girl and her younger brother.  This is what the Arubans were protesting when people are saying they botched a case when this stuff happens in America.
The father was brought in for report of him saying this and now he is
released. I guess the "report" of the "report" did not pan out enough to keep him in jail. The prosecutor is not at liberty to disclose anything and has said so repeatedly. No professional has ever quoted one of the suspects directly and you know that. A report of a report of this man having said this is all I heard from a reporter.
I have both and even had a father; I love them all dearly!!!!

***  I just knew someone would have to be negative.  Everyone, everywhere has something negative to say about most anything.  I, quite frankly, enjoy life.  Guess what?  I even laugh at "women" jokes!!!!  I know my father, who died 35 years ago, would have found this very funny.  My brother is laughing with me now.  My son, who is a Marine, will have to wait until his return home to see it but, unlike some people, he does have a sense of humor and will enjoy it as it was meant to be.

Do you ever watch any comedies on television or anything like that??  It is quite common to see "man versus woman" schtick" (spelling?) all the time.  Seems it has not been banned due to "political incorrectness".  Anyway, I certainly did not mean to offend you; that I stated before I actually wrote the 15 pieces of advice.  Thank you.

Reminds me of my late father-in-law....
He totally controlled the money (he figured he earned it all, so why not) and doled out "household money" to my MIL like Ricky and Lucy Ricardo did.  This continued until he died 18 MO ago, so I'm not talking about a by-gone time.  Meanwhile, up until he quit smoking, he was buying 3 to 4 packs a day plus stopping at the bar every day on the way home from work.  He never did stop drinking and I can only imagine the money he spent on that over their 40 yr marriage, while she's trying to run the house on her "allowance" and she could never take a dime out without his permission beyond the money he gave her.  Sheeesh (eyes rolling).  Thank God it didn't rub off on their son or I'd be a single woman by now.
My 4 year old also behaves better than his father.

what are you going to do
