Does anyone eat out a lot. I don't like to cook but am bored with the same old fast food.

Got any places not too expensive where I can get food to go.  To go is the key.  Bored with McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King, delivery pizza.  (Boston Market?)

 Thanks.

111 degrees in Mojave Desert
111 degrees in the Mojave Desert..Supposed to have a thunder storm but I doubt it.
It's the Corps, not the core. And, oh my, he DID desert. sm
He just left because he did not like the ways of the Corps? Stupid mistake #1. You can't "just leave" the U.S. military! Certainly not just because you don't like it. This is made very clear when you join and when you go through boot camp. Your hubby screwed up and there's nothing you can do about it now. He should have thought about wanting to be home with his family BEFORE HE SIGNED UP. There are thousands of men in the U.S. military who miss their wives, who have missed birthdays and anniveraries and Christmases, but they don't just walk away, because the men and women have devoted their lives and their loyalty to the United States. Just walking away is dishonorable and should be dealt with as such.
they spent 40 years in the desert.....
i was pointing out to my friend that in the bible they spent 40 years desert before they arrived...CMT spent 40 years collecting our money and we were snookered and got nowhere. In  half a century (and AAMT were going to do great things for us, must we wait for the 100 year mark?).  Paying dues, and nothing to show for it with the exception of their having meetings in fancy restaurants at exotic locations on your tab, and for this you get a pin, a piece of paper, and a magazine describing what a wonderful time they had at their seminar and to send more money.
Food stamps, WIC, food banks, churches, family...
There are many answers to that problem.

No one has the right to steal and writing a dishonorable check is stealing. It is called "theft of property".

My tax dollars support government programs to prevent people from going hungry and to provide for women, infants, and children. I make donations to food banks and churches, etc., for those who just need help as well.
Food for the staff and doctors, if you can afford it. Food is always a big hit in a doctor's off

One of the biggest perks I can remember when I worked in a doctor's office was when the drug reps or orthopedic equipment reps would cater lunch for the whole office just so they could meet with the docs.  The whole office would get so jazzed at the idea of free lunch.

If you can't afford to cater lunch, then I would do something like a muffin basket and bagels always go over well.  But food is your best bet.

grilled chicken and sweet corn with fruit for desert.

Where are you at on the Big Island?
We origially were thinking of moving to the Hilo area, but since my fiance started searching for jobs (he's in construction), he has noticed most of the jobs are in Kailua-Kona. We originally wanted to stay away from the tourist spots (lived in Waikiki before and hated it) and heard Hilo was a more family friendly place. So at the moment we are kind of torn where we want to move. We are going to just live in sublets or temporary housing until we figure out where we want to end up permanently depending on where he gets a job and also where we can still get high-speed internet for mine. Care to share what area you are living in and how you like it?
Well I own my own island right next to Mr. Dicaprio's and as soon as
I have my little jaunt there (with my champagne and caviar), I will be sure to swing by Hawaii and say hello and tootles!! ROFL
Treasure Island
My husband and I were married in Las Vegas last October.  We stayed at Treasure Island in a honeymoon suite for around 140.00 per night.  This price was Sunday thru Wednesday and then the price is higher for Thursday through Saturday.  It was a really, really nice hotel.  Our suite had a hot tub and his and her bathrooms.  Treasure Island also has some nice restaurants to eat at as well.  We were married at Viva Las Vegas, which is right on the strip.  Everyone there was very nice and we had a wonderful time.  We went out by ourselves so it is nice that Viva Las Vegas has a live web cam so friends and family back home can see you getting married.  Getting married at a wedding chapel that is not connected with a hotel is a lot cheaper.  I think our wedding package was around 400.00 and that included everything including our proofs.  We had a limo that picked us up from our hotel, took us to get married and then brought us back.  This was a wonderful experience that neither of us will ever forget.  I would also suggest eating at Emeril's Delmonico Steakhouse as well as Hard Rock Cafe.  Any other info you would like I would be happy to share.  Conratulations and good luck!!!
I was just in Aruba -very nice island

Aruba is just like any other tourist destination where as long as you stay in the tourist areas, do not wonder off into the downtown areas at night and practice basic street-smarts, then there is no need for alarm and it is just as safe as any other place. I went to Aruba last month and we had a nice stay but I also went there years ago when I was about 16 w/my friend and her family. Of course we drank our little hearts out but we stayed in the hotel area and never wandered off. I will admit that we were harrassed by locals a bit (and I think it was because we were so young) but we ignored them and ALWAYS stayed together- we used our street smarts!!

It sounds as tho this young girl did not have as much street smarts as you or I.  I would never  leave with guys I just met by myself even if I were at a bar in my hometown area, nevermind in another country! It is common sense but unfortunately this young girl didn't know any better, or for whatever reason maybe she thought that she was safe with these boys and she probably thought they were just regular kids just like her & her friends. It is very sad that she possibly had to pay the ultimate price for what she thought was just an innocent mistake.

We as parents try to protect our children from so much, but at the same time, I think sometimes we are so focused on keeping the evil of the world out, that we possibly make our children more vulnerable.

Mine too!! Would love to be on that little island

Paradise Island Bahamas
It is beautiful there and lots to do
You know, I felt exactly like I had been "thrown off the island"

I never watch "Survivor" or any other reality TV show but I have heard enough about it to know how it works. It saddens me that our young people are growing up with that kind of example - plotting behind other people's backs, ganging up on one member of the "team", always being out for number one.

Maybe "Leave It To Beaver" and "The Andy Griffith Show" were unrealistic, but at least they had good role models and discussed issues such as being kind to others, being truthful, and being a good person.

I know there are good people in the world - I just wish there were more of them.

I work for the person. I know. Very excellent person, personally and business-sense.
It is an INSULT to have QA hovering over seasoned MTs who know what they are doing. She trusts her MTs and again if there are questions there is one person, a trainer, who can answer them via phone, e-mail or instant message or you can send the whole report to them if you choose.
Point was is the person willing to make up for the slack of the person who types 1 job when there is

if that is all they WANT to type.   Is the person who wants to be a supervisor willing to make up for those people?

You have crap supervisors, editors and mts in the business like you have good ones.   Sadly, the really good ones of all of them are few and far between.

sounds good to me right about now. when's the next boat to the island?
i'm ready.

St. Simons versus Jekyl Island
Jekyl Island is 7-8 miles south US 17 of St. Simons. They offer beautiful beaches, hotels, bike trails, golf, camping, and fishing. It is a more secluded vacation place. As you already know St. Simons has great restaurants, boutique shopping, etc. Just depends on what you are looking for in a vacation spot. I live in Brunswick. Hope this helps.
Majority of these came thru Ellis Island. Didnt

Respectfully disagree island girl
I was merely trying to point out that if one comes to rally the troops on such a topic, they need to know what they talking about.  Quite honestly, this is a huge part of the reason MT is where it is today.  We have our own US MTs who know nothing beyond typing their report and tallying their line count.  Kudos to you for looking beyond and health care management.  Unfortunatley, you may find yourself on the other side of the ball though, so be prepared.  As part of the healthcare management team, you'll be expected to tow the line as far as cost cutting and hospitals are doing it every day.  It's not the MT companies choosing to offshore, but rather the larger hospitals are demanding it to cut costs.  Look around - hospitals are shutting their doors because they're out of money.

Love at first sight on the Long Island RailRoad
On the Long Island Railroad, traveling to Greenwich Village for the day and he traveling to a concert in Queens, NY.  The instant I looked at his face and he talked to me and sat across from me on the train, I knew we would make history together, I knew something was gonna happen between us.  He got off the train, I continued on to Greenwich Village, NYC..didnt get his number, nor he mine.  Four months later I was driving into my apartment parking lot and he was driving behind me, said he recognized me from my sunglasses as I looked in the rear view mirror.  He asked for my phone number and the rest is history..It was truly love at first sight..

Really bored...
Broasted chicken and John Grisham. He's intelligent and a great storyteller, so I would be well fed and never bored on an island - perfect existence.
anybody BORED??
I am having a really tough time lately with being totally bored with what I am doing.  Too many ESL doctors that put me to sleep or frustrate me beyond belief.  Too much time with "no work available" and too much stuff in some reports that my line count takes a big hit b/c I'm spending tons of time looking things up...  Anybody else feeling bored, burnt out, or whatever this is??  How did you snap out of it?  I need to start making serious money at this, but can't seem to get there no matter what I do and so much of it is completely out of my control.
anybody BORED?
Do you have any of the computer programs made for Medical Transcription, such as medical dictionary, medical spellchecker, smarttype, etc. Since I have gotten the above and a few others,I spend less time looking up information and more time typing and some things as easy as a search engine (google.com) may be helpful. Good luck.
Anyone get bored?

Lately it is getting harder and harder for me to stay awake while transcribing - have done this for 20+ years and now have to take caffeine pills (even after getting 7-8 hours sleep)  Do the same account every day, same work type (which I know I should consider as lucky), same long reports every day, very monotonous, nothing challenging  and having a really hard time.  If I complain the office staff will put be on discharges which will be even more boring.  Used to get a mixture of short and long reports, now very seldom get anything short and am so bored - get up every hour and walk around 10 minutes or so - any ideas on pepping myself up?

Bored, bored, bored...
I hear you on the boredom front!

I think we are all victims of spring. New season, we want changes, we get restless, there's more daylight, and who wants to sit in front of a monitor 8 hrs/day typing the same repetative droning voices hours upon hours?

The only thing that seems to be a temporary fix for me is to blow off the work for 30 minutes and get outside for a walk. Take the phone off the hook and just go. You can't be productive when you get in a slump and sometimes doing something physical is the answer. Walk fast, swing your arms, head up, deep breaths and think about what you're going to plant in the garden, or what color you want to paint a room in your house, or maybe a new hair style.

I think this time of year we thrive on change, yet this job is not conducive to that so we have to create change elsewhere.

Wow. Now it has come down to me spewing this mystic inner-self stuff. See what being cooped up does to a person?
re: being bored
Hi there!
I have only been typing for about a year and a half so far but I just wanted to say that I do disability psych evals and they are always different to listen to. So if you want something different to do, try finding a company that does psych evals! I also have to walk for about 20 minutes a day just to get my blood pumping to my brain and hands which get sore too!

God bless!

I'm bored too
Just interviewed for a QA position because favorite part of my job now is looking up unfamiliar words. But don't get paid for that. QA would be hourly salary and at least I would be challenged again.
Bored

So, I've decided that medical transcription is something I just can no longer do.  I've been doing it for 16 years but I'm so bored, it's pretty near driving me crazy.  Can't concentrate... vacuuming the house is more interesting that transcribing at this point.  I took a week off not too long ago.  That week went by far too quickly.  Then I took 3 days off this weekend.  So, here I am fresh from a good break, and am sitting here wanting to do anything other than transcribe.

I have no idea what other type of work I could do.  All I know is transcribing feels pretty similar to getting smacked by a baseball bat!  Painful all the same, minus the bruises!

off today and bored...

That's where I stay when I go. You will never be bored
and then go to the Ocean's Club. They have some condos you can rent that are part of Atlantis too that are quite nice and they are within walking distance and you get to use all the amenities. That is where I would say to go.

I have been an MT for over 10 years now and I am so bored.
I can't stand being on the phone with anybody because I get so tired of hearing people talk all the time. I get irritated easily and my family is starting to notice it. My friends are upset with me because I don't call them as often as I should. The housework is definitely slacking. I even had to get a babysitter to watch my 9-month-old baby for me because it was too hard working late nights and then staying up all day, getting only minimal naps in before my 7-year-old came home from school. What is the point of working from home for very little and not being able to take care of my own family? I am interested in doing some billing. Do you think you can email me some information on how to go about this? I did some billing before and I enjoyed it, although it was working in a clinic. I am thinking about taking the tests but it's been so long since I've done anything else.
So bored I could scream

I thought working from home would give me more "flexibility" to be with my family; little did I know that I actually have less time with my family now than I would at a job in town.

To take time off, it must be scheduled months in advance.  An emergency has to be cleared in advance.  I'm so bored that I'm eating to keep myself focused and awake at night.  I would cut back, but I don't earn enough to go part time.  It is harder and harder to force myself to go to work, and harder and harder to stay focused, particularly when I have a bad dictator which is more often than not.

I think I'm so burned out I'm crispy around the edges.

BORED TO DEATH
Does anyone else get sick and tired of doing the same work, same doctors, same everything day in and day out?  I am bored to death with this job!  I like the job just not the same stuff.  I think I need a change!!!!
BORED? THE ANSWER

Dear FastMT,

I really like you and I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND AND EMPATHIZE WITH YOUR BOREDOM!!  I have too many years (23) of medical transcription under my belt. I had 96 college credits in the academic curriculum, which is very interesting.  I am really an academic person.  I received an A average in high school in an academic curriculum and won a college scholarship based on my first 1-1/2 years of college (academic curriculum).

I sense that you, like me, have a higher level of intelligence and require much more engrossing and stimulating work than what medical transcription provides you.  After the first several years, the whole challenge wears off, and then of course there is the distrust of exactly what these doctors are doing to their patients in the form of harm.

I would like to discuss this with you, because I sense I have the answer for you in the form of a career change.  Would you please email me at my email address, which is:  dove003@comcast.net?  Please do email me, since I really think could have the answer for you!!

THIS IS NOT SOME GIMMICK AND I DO NOT REPRESENT SOME COMPANY.  I only want to help you out.  Please email me.  Thanks.');>
