Thank you, Amanda.

I work in a hospital for an hourly wage, and I often do something similar to your challenge to ascertain what I COULD be making if I left the security of the guaranteed wage.

On the plus side, I work in the Cardiac Unit and with a total of 25 doctors, so I am able to use Expanders a LOT.

On the negative side, I work with mostly ESL dictators, and I have other things I have to do -- mostly detective work, tracking down charts that doctors have apparently hidden  -- and I am limited somewhat by the slowdowns that the network has and printing time, but overall, I have figured that I could be making at least three times what I am now making were I to be paid per line.

I guess that's why I have trouble understanding when people complain about the industry. I see it as a good-paying industry for those who are able to concentrate and buckle down during worktime.

I have never had anyone to compare with, so I appreciate your stepping out there and posting yours. I will not post mine, as I have already seen what can happen to one who does so, but I will say that I am right in the same ballpark, all things considered.

I have found it helpful to compete against myself. It helps relieve the boredom as well as helping to boost my output and time.

Thanks again for the positive post. It is appreciated.
