No, you are not being attacked...

because you asked a question.  You are being "attacked" because you have the audacity and nerve to call us rude and panic-ridden after we responded to not just 1, but 2 of your posts asking for advice about what to do about your DH and his problem.

My first thought after your first post was "why is she bothering to take the time to ask this here?  Why doesn't she contact a medical professional such as a doctor?"  But alas, a little later on you reported that he was doing ok.

Then, you came back again with yet another post saying that his lower lip was now swollen.  Now, we know nothing about you and your life other than the little bit of info you decided to share regarding your DH and his medical malady.  How were we to know he was not having a severe allergic reaction to something?  That is certainly how you made it sound.

I am deeply offended and angered at the nature of your replies (as I'm sure many others are) to people who were genuinely concerned and only trying to offer you the only advice they could given the information they were presented with.  No, this is not something I will carry with me or let "bum me out", but it is disheartening when you try to show concern for someone and you basically get slapped in the face.

I don't think anyone that responded to your posts was rude to you in any way, shape, or form.  I myself responded to your second post and was as kind as I could possibly be when I asked which you could afford more...the emergency room bill, or the loss or your DH.  I even said I wasn't trying to be harsh.  But the statement you made about not wanting to go to the ER becasue of the cost really burned me.  You cannot put a price on someones health or life.

I am glad that your DH is ok; however, I think the responses you made after so many people tried to help you out were unwarranted.  If you didn't want our advice, you shouldn't have asked and just because you didn't like the advice you got doesn't give you the right to respond in the way you did.

karma...

Jan, you attacked me below...
on the EMR thread because I was more knowledgable than you regarding the subject, which you could not admit.  Stop accusing other people of supposedly doing the exact same thing that you have done.  That is ridiculous...
That's "every day" before I get attacked :) nm

My ex's dog was just attacked by one 2 days ago
He was walking her on a leash and an unleashed pit mix attacked her. Ripped up her leg and she had emergency surgery. She would have the same fate as Shadow had it not been for his neighbors using shovels and whatever else they could find to beat off the pit. And like you and your husband, they were lucky they were not attacked as well.

Ex drove by the house the next day and the gate was open. He called animal control and he and his friends went to visit the dog owner. The guy actually tried to deny it was his dog... don't think so.. head swollen from the shovels, etc., and snout torn up from my ex's dog defending her neck.

Ex also lives in a major metropolitan area and this attack occurred the first day of school at 8:00 a.m. This dog was also seen killing a cat.

I seriously believe something is wrong with people who insist on the procreation of these dogs.

I am so sorry for you loss.
My husband was attacked as a small child by pit bulls...
and he still owned two of them when I met him.  This is my second marriage and I have two children (4 and 7 at the time).  I refused to bring my kids to his house with the dogs there.  He eventually found homes for them.  One ended up being put down because it attacked someone and the other had to be put down later for killing the family cat.  These were dogs my husband "trusted."  Never...never would I allow my children or animals around pit bulls.  It is sad, but like you said it is instinct from years and years of breeding for that purpose.  So sad for all.
You are certifiable... Bush's war on terror? Excuse me, but THEY attacked us, or did you forget?
