Awareness

Yes, I am aware. Unfortunately. Our family lost our oldest son's roomate to an IED. He bled to death before he could get medical attention. He was a wonderful, brave man and I am proud to have known him. He also served for us in the Gulf War and in that horrendous place called Mogadishu. Another one of my son's roommates is still there. I worry about him every day that goes by. He has been shot at by those children you speak of.

I believe that we are doing the best for these children that we can under the circumstances and I do trust my government to do the right thing for them. It is the others I am worried about. Wars are wars. American does the best that it can whenever it can and I feel that our own people are constantly attacking our society and are bringing it down.

What do homeless children in American have to do with the children in Iraq who are criminals? This post was about possible mistreatment of children who have been apprehended in a war by our soldiers and who are being housed evidently under American control. What should we do? Let them go out and do it again? If they are helped and educated that is our best. If 10% turn out okay, that is okay with me because that is better than what would have happened had we not tried. As for the others, while I am sad about their circumstances in life I am not so moved as to want them freed to move about killing our soldiers. Dead is dead. Backward civilizations capitalize on use children to kill. That is not my fault or the fault of America. Their own people who feel as I do need to stand up and not allow it to the best of their ability. I do not feel that housing them and feeding them, educating them to be more than the animals that they are is "brainwashing" - however, I am sure that some Muslims and evidently some Americans with bleeding hearts for a culture they cannot change or understand would disagree with me.
