I've been asked "What is bootstrap mentality?"
I would appreciate it if the answers to this question from all perspectives be expressed in a respectful, bash-free manner.

I've paid taxes all my life - federal, state, city, sales, property - I contribute to the greater good. I also have organized charity for families and painted and nailed and laid carpet and tile in poverty stricken homes when I barely had a pot to piss in myself - that was my Christmas gift to my children. I have donated to veteran's halfway houses when I was only making $5.30 an hour - so keep betting on 3-legged horses. I moved in with my parents and took care of my father who was dying while working full-time as a supervisor several states away (thankfully, my employer was cooperative). I always GIVE to my community even when I have only my labor to give. I also donated to Obama's campaign and went door-to-door handing out pamphlets in an attempt to wrench this country from the greedy grasp of the heathen right. AND, WE were successful. So, while the current socialist party inhouse is passing out the last of China's loans to the banks - Obama's team will have a fine time trying to shovel us back to prosperity. You think you are paying too much in taxes now? Since we have the worst unemployment rate since 1945 - I do believe you will be seeing a whole lot more being spent to try to save the citizens of this country and through sheer stubborn ignorance - you will blame Obama instead of the reichwing neo-cons who put us in this position in the first place. All of this impacts our lesser fortunate - the mentally ill and the disabled. Jobs won't go to them. Wait a minute. What jobs?
If these are the WMD we went in for, which had been buried since 1988...sm

My late husband is buried
next to a plot where unborn fetuses (is that the plural????) are born. Very sad. Those parents keep flowers on the little graves. Obviously those were unborn children who were wanted by their parents.

I don't think it was a single person responsible for this. Apparently, there was a whole mob of shoppers outside who broke the door off its hinges trying to get into the store and not one single person stopped to help him. There were other Walmart workers injured just trying to get to him to help him. I just can't imagine what these people were thinking....that that man's life was worth the 40 bucks they saved on an ipod or something.
More entitlement mentality
Why should we have to evacuate people who went there on their own free will? Lebanon is not Hawaii. It's one of the most unstable countries in the world. This is definitely one risk they should have planned ahead for, but no, they fully expected that when all heck broke loose that the U.S should be on their doorstep immediately to evacuate them. They are complaining that they were asked to pay $200 to be evacuated!!! They paid their way in, so why not pay their way out? When a cruise ship comes to pick them up for their 3 to 4 hour ride to Crete they can only complain that they waited to long, it was hot, there were flies, and that the menu for the 3-4 hour ride was not up to their standards. Oh, they are lounging on the deck in bathing suits, but they are suffering so baaaad, and it's their government's fault. Ingrates.
To address what you said about Bush's articulation challenge I will say this. Talk is cheap no matter how articulate or inarticulate you are. Actions speak louder than words. You can be eloquent all day long, but if you never put any action behind what you say your pretty words are best left un-uttered.

we actually are all in this together. it doesn't work too well if half of us are working and half of us are not. Right now in the US it is the working people supporting the ones who don't. don't get me wrong, I am totally in favor of helping anyone who can't but not one bit if favor of supporting those who won't. objective views. This is a one-sided publication that asks for donations to keep it going. Nothing I read in there posts anything against any democrats, just republicans. It is not a fair-minded reporting.
I like to read both sides of the aisle but this publication spews hatred for anything not democratic in order to sell books. To those who can't see both sides, this blog, or publication as they like to state, is just up their aisle. I shake my head at one-sided news. Taken from their web site:

My post was a direct answer to the direct post...
of Democrat. It was not a blank open-ended statement. And dial it back a notch...it is certainly your right to protest anything any time you want to. Just like it is my right to protest you protesting while men and women are still in harm's way, because you are in effect aiding the enemy. Apparently the Viet Nam experience taught you nothing. Americans protesting in the streets heartened the enemy and when they were about to surrender decided not to, based a lot upon what was happening in the American streets. I believe that the protesting in that war prolonged the war and cost more American lives. Hanoi Jane should have been tried for treason. That being said...lessons were not learned and the protestors are doing the exact same thing now. Exercising the very right bought for them by shedding of American military blood. And I still say common courtesy should keep people out of the streets and off the TV until the military are home safe. But it just proves the same thing to me over and over...the selfISHhness of the protestors vs. the selfLESSness of the military. They continue to put it all on the line for your right to protest anything you want to protest...it is up to YOU to decide where and when that is appropriate, and it is up to you to take the heat for same. It is up to me and others like me (in my opinion) to apply that heat. Go ahead and do whatever your conscience or lack thereof moves you to do. But do not expect those of a different mind not to protest the protest.

I know for a fact that when he ran for President in 2000, I told every single person I knew that if he becomes President, we're going to go to war with Iraq. (Nobody's gonna treat his daddy like Saddam did and get away with it.)
I didn't have a crystal ball. I had common sense and a good memory from the Gulf War when his father was President and how he didn't "finish the job." Seems a lot of other Americans forgot about that.

I'm sorry you are so bitter and hate filled that you would wish anyone to burn in hell. There are some evil people in this world but my first wish for them is that they find Christ and turn from their evil ways with His help. I too hope one day you find Christ, gt, and quit letting misguided Christians and Christian leaders keep you from HIM. Their blunders are not worth your eternal soul.
