Protecting borders?
We went to Iraq to protect our borders? That is a new one! Why did we go to Iraq? WMD? There werent any. Getting Saddam (heaven knows why..there are terrible leaders in other countries that are much more threatening..i.e., N. Korea, Iran). Well, we got him. So, why are we still there? We are there because our goal has always been to control the Middle East and it's oil. Of course, the American people would not have sacrificed their children in war for those reasons, so Bush had to scare the American people into war. We walked right into the terrorists web by invading Iraq. Gave them a reason to fight us. We are in a country where we dont belong. We need to leave. Set a time table, train the Iraqis to take care of their own country and leave. Protect our borders? How about protecting the border from USA to Mexico. Or USA to Canada. Those are borders that will affect us right here on our soil. The Iraq invasion was a major mistake. This murderous administration knows it but, of course, Bush never backs down on anything, even when he is dead wrong and forget about ever admitting he made a mistake about anything or apologize for something. This war is wrong and history will show this and Bushs legacy will not be kind.

Invading Iraq was not protecting America. Invading Iraq has caused America to be less safe and has started a world wide terrorist movement against America.

I'm all for protecting people but here
is my issue. When someone murders someone, it isn't because they love them. Aren't most crimes like assault and murder basically out of hate? I guess I don't mind protecting certain groups but to me if you kill a homosexual you shouldn't get more time in the slammer than if you killed a heterosexual. You killed a person and to me that is that regardless of their sexual orientation....but whatever.
Some of those things listed on there is just downright wrong. Personally, I feel that we should have the right to beat the crap out of people who get their jollies off of exposing themselves to others. Strangers, especially children, shouldn't have to put up with that. Ya know. Sick sick people.
I heard that someone suggested pedophiles be added to the list. I'm sorry but anyone who wants pedophiles to be protected ought to be smacked around themself. JMO though. We need to protect our children from them....not protect pedophiles from us.

The DNC has been protecting Obama for 18 months....
they have not let him do an interview with anyone who didn't either get a thrill up their leg talking to him or were so enraptured with him they softballed every question. When he went on O'Reilly was the first time he went into an interview with someone who was not going to softball him, and he did not do much better than she did...and that is with 18 months surrounded by hundreds of advisors.
I have no doubt she will be fine talking to world leaders. We will never see the side of the person that talks to world leaders behind closed doors. I have as much faith in her as #2 talking to world leaders than I have with the #1 on the other ticket who wants to pander to them and frankly sell us down the river. He shows weakness...and her words were prophetic. When you face those guys, you don't blink. She made that case to Charlie Gibson, and she didn't blink. She kept eye contact way more than he did. And he had notes...she didn't. lol.
Laws protecting from murder
Yes, this country does have laws that protect citizens from being murdered.
A "citizen" is defined someone who "is born or naturalized in the United States."
Fetuses, embryos, etc. aren't born or naturalized. The issue of when life begins is akin to the "chicken/egg" question and will never be answered to the satisfaction of everyone. It relies mostly on religious views, and one's religious views shouldn't be forced on someone else who may not believe the same.
Again, I believe in minding my own business and NOT judging someone who may have or has had an abortion because it's none of my business.
If you don't believe in abortion, then I guess the simplest answer is: Don't have one.

As the controversy surrounding Sarah Palin's pastor grows to one of near biblical proportions, certain very important questions are beginning to come to light. Questions like, if Reverend Wright's statements of opinion about America were so damning that Obama had to distance himself, then what of Muthee's Kenyan witch hunt? What of his continued, almost paranoid, remarks about witches in his prayers?
Many people, except those who truly take every word of the Bible as literal truth, are rightfully critical of Muthee's beliefs. There is one word to say for it -- extremism. Extremism in the same way that some of the Muslim faith believe that it is right and just to fight 'Holy Wars.' Extremism in the same way that supposedly justified murder for any cause is extreme.
But there it is, plain as day, in the Holy Bible's own Exodus -- "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." If you happen to be one of those people who believe that every single word in the Bible is true, then this becomes a very troubling precedent. Based on your beliefs that the literal Bible is infallible, you must agree with this rather extreme statement since it did, in your view, come from God.
At this point, it becomes a matter of some debate as to what a witch actually is. It's pretty key since the Bible itself mandates killing them. So who is a witch? Is it a lady who practices magic? If so, then what is magic? Is it praying to gods other than those in the Christian faith? Is it practicing fortune telling? Is it simply being a woman involved in spiritual work? Is it being someone alleged to have made crops fail or traffic accidents to have happened? I ask these questions because all of the above have been accused and punished for supposed 'witchcraft' often with death as is the Bible's precedent.

She opted to have all of the eggs implanted (not the norm and outside ethical responsibility). They erroneously thought she had 7 viable fetuses (the 8th was hidden somewhere.....). The doc should have pushed for selective termination to reduce the number. The fact that she chose to carry them all to term indicates to me that she is short a few fries of a happy meal. I suspect she knew she would make headlines and that would ignite support from all over in the form of gifts, cash, etc., so she could continue her "puppy mill" in relative financial comfort. I still stand by the assumption she's nuts and the doc made a huge mistake.
I know that innocent
people have gone through horrible things when they were wrongly accused, etc. However, there are so many more of them that are guilty. My biggest problem with the death penalty is that it is so expensive. A rope or a bullet is a lot cheaper than lethal injections. I personally feel that if we were harsher on prisoners....more of them would stop doing it. A three strikes your out kind of thing. We have so many prisons that are overcrowded that criminals, rapists, etc. are being send out early risking many more innocent lives that way.

why didnt he come forward before now and state what actually went down? Because of his silence, Judith Miller is in jail, Matthew Cooper was threatened with jail, thousands of tax dollars have been spent on a Grand Jury and a special prosecutor and now quite possibly a trial.

we all know that. We saw him commit perjury. National TV. Yes, my fangs are showing. I don't like it when Pres of US flaunts the law and Congress lets him get away with it. Actually, I blame Congress just as much, but sides of the house, because they did not have the integrity NOR the guts to convict him. At least when Nixon was proven to be guilty he still had a modicum of decency and resigned. Clinton did not have enough class OR integrity to do the same. 'Nuff said.

I hear that there is not a guilty person in prison. Another thing that needs fixed in our government at all levels, justice depends on how much money you have. I really, really doubt that there are that many truly innocent people on death row. I think that before an execution, there should be absolutely no doubt about guilt. Say O.J. and Scott Peterson. Don't you think they deserve the death penalty. Well, I know that O.J. was found not guilty but no doubt in my mind he was guilty as sin.

I'm sure there are some innocent men at Gitmo but this is war. It was war when the terrorists killed thousands of Americans in one day and then celebrated their actions. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. ALL animals should be treated in a humane fashion.
I am offended that people will defend wildlife and endangered species but they think nothing of eating meat and animals that have been treated cruelly.
How can you say it's cruel to hunt animals, but you don't think it's cruel how chickens, cattle, pigs and other animals are treated before you (no, not you personally because I don't know if your a vegetarian) but people who are not vegetarians will think nothing and don't care how the animals they are eating are being treated.

What is most disquieting to me is that you defend Israel's placement of landmines to kill innocent civilians, designed to go off at a later date when people least expect it? Why don't you consider that terrorism, as well?
