An article on a letter to the Editor of a newspaper making its rounds on the Internet.

Here is Mr. Barnett's letter:

Taxed to excess
Dear IRS,
I am sorry to inform you that I will not be able to pay taxes owed April 15, but all is not lost.
I have paid these taxes: accounts receivable tax, building permit tax, CDL tax, cigarette tax, corporate income tax, dog licence tax, federal income tax, unemployment tax, gasoline tax, hunting licence tax, fishing licence tax, waterfowl stamp tax, inheritance tax, inventory tax, liquor tax, luxury tax, medicare tax, city, school and county property tax (up 33 percent last 4 years), real estate tax, social security tax, road usage tax, toll road tax, state and city sales tax, recreational vehicle tax, state franchise tax, state unemployment tax, telephone federal excise tax, telephone federal state and local surcharge tax, telephone minimum usage surcharge tax, telephone state and local tax, utility tax, vehicle licence registration tax, capitol gains tax, lease severance tax, oil and gas assessment tax, Colorado property tax, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma and New Mexico sales tax, and many more that I can’t recall but I have run out of space and money.
When you do not receive my check April 15, just know that it is an honest mistake. Please treat me the same way you treated Congressmen Charles Rangle, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and ex-Congressman Tom Dashelle and, of course, your boss Timothy Geithner. No penalties and no interest.
P.S. I will make at least a partial payment as soon as I get my stimulus check.
Ed Barnett

UN hits N. Korea with sanctions...(sm)

Yeah!!!.  Now I just worry about the 2 girls they are trying over there.

updated 3:42 p.m. ET, Fri., June 12, 2009

SEOUL, South Korea - The U.N. Security Council on Friday punished North Korea for its second nuclear test, imposing tough new sanctions, expanding an arms embargo and authorizing ship searches on the high seas, with the goal of derailing the isolated nation's nuclear and missile programs.

In a sign of growing global anger at Pyongyang's pursuit of nuclear weapons in defiance of the council, the North's closest allies Russia and China joined Western powers and nations from every region in unanimously approving the sanctions resolution.

The resolution seeks to deprive North Korea of financing and material for its weapons program and bans the country's lucrative arms exports, especially missiles. It does not ban normal trade, but does call on international financial institutions not to provide the North with grants, aid or loans except for humanitarian, development and denuclearization programs. U.S. Deputy Ambassador Rosemary DiCarlo said the resolution provides "a strong and united international response" to North Korea's test in defiance of a ban imposed after its first underground atomic blast in October 2006.

"The message of this resolution is clear: North Korea's behavior is unacceptable to the international community and the international community is determined to respond," DiCarlo said. "North Korea should return without conditions to a process of peaceful dialogue."

Push for six-party talks
China's U.N. Ambassador Zhang Yesui said the nuclear test had affected regional peace and security. He strongly urged Pyongyang to promote the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and return quickly to Beijing-hosted six-party talks aimed at dismantling North Korea's nuclear program.

He said the resolution demonstrates the international community's "firm opposition" to the atomic blast, "but also sends a positive signal" by showing the council's determination to resolve the issue "peacefully through dialogue and negotiations."

North Korea signaled strong opposition to new sanctions before the vote, but its diplomats were nowhere to be seen on Friday.

That was in stark contrast to the vote in October 2006 when the North Korean ambassador immediately rejected the first sanctions resolution, accused council members of "gangster-like" action, and walked out of the council chamber.

'Merciless offensive'
North Korea reiterated Monday in its main newspaper that the country will consider any sanctions a declaration of war and will respond with "due corresponding self-defense measures." On Tuesday, the North said it would use nuclear weapons in a "merciless offensive" if provoked.

The provision most likely to anger the North Koreans calls on countries to inspect all suspect cargo heading to or from North Korea — and to stop ships carrying suspect material if the country whose flag the vessel is flying gives approval.

The White House said it was prepared to confront ships believed to be carrying contraband materials to North Korea but will not try to forcibly board them.

If the country refuses to give approval, it must direct the vessel "to an appropriate and convenient port for the required inspection by the local authorities."

Susan Rice, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, said U.S. officials would seek permission to board and inspect ships believed to be carrying contraband to North Korea. Such ships would be directed to a nearby port for inspection if they could not be boarded at sea, she told reporters at the White House.

Rice said the U.S. would not be surprised if North Korea reacted to the sanctions with "further provocation."

"There's reason to believe they may respond in an irresponsible fashion to this," she said. But she said she expects the sanctions to have significant impact on North Korea's financing of its weapons and missile systems.

Nuclear tests
The United States and many other nations, including China and Russia, have condemned Pyongyang for its underground nuclear test on May 25 and a series of ground-to-air missile test firings.

The resolution condemns "in the strongest terms" the North's May 25 nuclear test "in violation and flagrant disregard" of the 2006 sanctions resolution.

It demands a halt to any further nuclear tests or missile launches and reiterates the council's demand that the North abandon all nuclear weapons, return to the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, allow U.N. nuclear inspections, and rejoin six-party talks.

The 2006 resolution imposed an arms embargo on heavy weapons, a ban on material that could be used in missiles or weapons of mass destruction and a ban on luxury goods favored by North Korea's ruling elite. It also ordered an asset freeze and travel ban on companies and individuals involved in the country's nuclear and weapons programs.

Bush greatest hits... or is it misses?
A mere drop in a very large, filthy bucket but off the top of my head and in no particular order:

1. Lying about and starting an illegal, unecessary war.
2. Dressing up in a flight suit with a Mission Accomplished banner behind him.
3. Obscene tax cuts for billionaires (his base) while cutting programs for the poor and shifting tax burdens to the middle class.
4. Nearly doubling the number of middle class people without health insurance.
5. Gutting clean air and other environmental standards.
6. Holding hands with Saudi Prince Abdullah...Now tell me again, what country were the 9/11 hijackers from and who is the one *addicted to oil*?
7. No child left behind.
8. Restoring *integrity* to the White House.
9. Dividing the country while being the decider.
10. Using religion to get votes and pretending to be a Christian and overall *I am the chosen one* messianic delusion.
11. Pretending to speak Spanish....he doesn't even speak English.
12. Doing nothing about Darfur until yesterday.
13. Ignoring Central America.
14. Not holding regular press conferences.
15. Harriet Myers and pandering to the religious right.
16. Being an arrogant, smirking, strutting, inarticulate, illiterate embarassment.
17. Exposing covert CIA operatives.
18. Telling the country and Cindy Sheehan that he *needs to get on with his life* while soldiers are dying.
19. The *you're either with us or against us* mentality and telling our allies to...um, well, you know, what Cheney said on the House floor.
20. Shamefully incompetent Katrina response and breaking FEMA with heck of a job Brownie.
21. Creating ballooning deficits that weren't there when he came in.
22. Being too busy to attend African-American events except for Coretta's funeral.
23. Lying, lying, lying.

Obama's Approval Index hits negative territory

The approval index is computed by subtracting the percentage of voters who strongly disapprove of Obama's job performance from those who strongly approve of it.

Once sporting an index in the +30 range, the Big BO (you may interpret "BO" however you wish)  has in a matter of a mere handful of months fallen like Lucifer from Heaven.  May his end be similarly appropriate, politically speaking. Let's make this goofy clown a one-term bozo.

There are over ONE MILLION hits on Google when you enter...George Bush Atheist...sm
Does that make him an atheist?

GET the point?
Nice rant....however...
look up perjury. Perjury is a lying UNDER OATH. A felony. Just plain old lying....like people do every day...just plain old lying. Just in case you did not know...when a President is sworn in he puts the hand on the Bible and swears to uphold the laws of the United States of America. Whoops!! So he not only perjured himself..he broke his oath. But no big deal...right? OF course not. You love generalities don't you? Liars like Bush and his ilk...I could say the same thing about Billary...liars and their ilk. They have both been caught in so many...as I am sure every other politician on the face of the earth.

Some of these posters remind me of the cliques in junior high who made fun of the fat kids or the kids in glasses, yada yada...same bullies, all grown up.

Sigh.
Geez.... RANT ON!
W
Not to hijack your rant, but there
the Bush administration used as a pretext to declaring war. We went to war and into debt and lives were lost over a lie made up to fulfill a plan that was devised prior to 9/11.

And btw, gay marriage will not harm your marriage in any way, unless your DW/DH is having an affair on the side and decides to make an honest man/woman out of the other person.
Uh....I don't think I posted a RANT like you just did...
you might want to take a page from your own book and seek therapy. And if you really read closely...I was not blaming Obama for anything...LOL. I was saying those who were posting about Sanford were trying to take the conversation away from Obama. Geeeezzzzz, just figures. I knowwww you are in love with the Prez. I know you think he can do no wrong. With all he has done that you fail to recognize that is pretty much obvious. Your tolerant and open mind is showing again....NOT.
Thank you for another vote democrat or die rant...
PUMA is not just comprised of women. Obviously you are not getting all the news. THere are some po'ed men out there too. Talk about a hand-picked celebrity...you make this too easy! Nobody knew who Obama was until his speech at the last DNC convention. That was when Howard Dean trotted him out, the heir apparent, the only way they could beat Hillary Clinton...a rock star African American candidate. Orchestrated to do just that...dispossess Hillary Clinton and remove the Clintons once and for all. In case you hadn't noticed it, Howard Dean despises the Clintons. And the media jumped right on the bandwagon, doing everything in their power to thwart Hillary Clinton and pursue their love fest with Obama...because...and you on the inside can't see the forest for the trees...you are buying it hook, line, and sinker. And not only that, you are HELPING them. It is an amazing thing to watch.

Republicans smug? OMG. Pot kettle BIG time.

Uh....Obama said..."oh and by the way he's black." He did play the race card...but then so did BILL CLINTON. Geez.

No, he has not gambled away his experience card...because YOU keep bringing it up, which only brings your #1's lack of experience to the top and keeps everyone thinking about it.

THANK YOU! lol
nobody cares about your pro mccain rant

Changing the subject to the tax rant
nm
Rant away if it makes you feel better.
You've gotton so many things wrong, it's laugable.

First of all, saying "people like you" once again shows your lack of understanding of the situation. I do not protest outside of abortion clinics. Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't.

Much like you don't want religion in your politics, I don't want somebody's stinking LACK of morals in MY politics. Gay marriage. Late-term abortion. Did you ever stop to think that THAT might be offense to others? No. Because people like you are so busy beating your chests like gorillas and proclaiming how liberal and open-minded you lot are. When all the while you're trying to stomp on anyone and everyone who has the audicity to display a little faith in God.

As far as "running all over the world" - you're just running your mouth instead of your brain. I go to Russia twice a year. Russia is not "all over the world" but I suppose I can blame the public school system who apparently didn't let you in on that little secret.

And "that perfect little baby" once again shows your inabilty to comprehend the situation. You have no idea about the conditions I've seen in Russian orphanages. They are little more than warehouses for children, so that particular high horse of yours is lame as well. Why don't YOU go advocate for the foster kids in America? Better yet, don't. It wouldn't be fair to the kids.

If you had any capacity for learning, you would have rememberd that I have a WHOLE HOUSEFUL of adopted children. All are special needs, all are from the foster care system right here in the good 'ol USA. So your comment "children here are just too much of a pain in the a$$ for you" is offensive and, once again, totally off base.

I have never rambled about how wonderful I am. Nor have I said how $hitty anyone else is, though in your case I will make an exception. If you think I'm boasting it's because you have an inferiority complex.

I'm sorry if you want me to cry and pat you on your little head and feel sorry for you and how hard the abortion was on YOU. I'm sure there are plenty of P.C. posters who will crowd all around you and applaud your courageous decision to kill an infant instead of doing the right, albeit more difficult, thing and leaving your abusive husband and caring for yourself and your child. Too bad you didn't have the support system of a good Christian church to help you make a better decision. I don't have any patience for people who martyr themselves and then want everyone to throw them a big pity party.
Sorry to burst your rant bubble, but...
There are Christmas parades, Easter parades, and Christian cruises, so why shouldn't there be gay pride parades and gay cruises?

I won't respond to the rest of your rant because, frankly, it made me dizzy just reading parts of it!
Feel better after your self-righteous rant?
The Palestinians are terrorits, who thrive on chaos and bloodshed.

If it makes you feel all giddy to root for the savages, go ahead. You've clearly closed your mind off to the truth. Just like they wanted you to.

Nice to know even monsters can find support from folks like you.

It must really burn you, though, that Israel is kicking the holy h3ll out of your little bunch of Arab buddies.

So what do you think about the warnings that Palestinans are going to resort to suicide bombers (since they clearly can't hit squat with their rockets)?

Who do you think they're going to strap those little puppies to, anyway? It won't be the "soldiers." No sir. They're targeting their recruitment at women and boys. Yeah, that's real gallant.

Back to the Stone Age! Shouldn't take long now.
hey republicans, did it hit a nerve?
For the post of failure=bush to have gotten such a response, IMHAO makes me think we have hit a nerve, LMFAO.  If it meant nothing because they thought their leader was so righteous, so smart, so dang right in his policies, they would have dismissed the post about failure=bush..When you protest so loudly, you prove we are right and it irks you..sigh..too bad..
This teacher has her nerve.
1. Graduate from high school.
Good, I agree.

2. Get a job - keep it, no matter how much money.

So she would have her students stay at McDonalds the rest of their lives, no matter how much money they make. Don't strive for anything more (ya know, some older people have this mindset).

3. Never have a baby out of wedlock.

This makes me a bad person.

4. Get married and stay married.

I hope she explained to them not to stay in an abusive relationship just for the sake of staying married.

Aside from #1, these are definitely not things that you want to have drilled into a 7th graders mind.

Definitely don't stop at the principal, they back up the teachers in most cases. BTDT.

Must have hit a nerve. Good on you. nm

The nerve? GT you are so full of it. sm
Take a good long look at page one of the Conservative board. Tell me you see no postings of an inflammatory nature by liberals.  If you did, you would be lying.
It seems I touched a nerve ~

Healthcare reform is a much debated subject.  We, the great people of the United States, should adopt the attitude that we can set higher benchmarks in the area of healthcare.  Wouldn't that be something to be proud of?  The great difference between the liberal and conservative stance on healthcare is that we liberals view it as a human issue whereas the conservatives view it as a business. Who is right and who is wrong?  Depends on your personal point of view.  I am certainly not trying to change anyone's fundamental way of thinking, I only want to people to start talking about, researching it, talking to your friends, your neighbors, your family, your doctor, your representatives, and make up your own mind about to make a reality.  I am not endorsing any particular or single proposal that is currently on the table and I am certainly not attacking anyone in particular.

sounds like I hit a nerve with you...
So if Obama is elected, which it certainly is going his way, will you move to another country?  Oh and funny how you didn't state what you were doing about the baby pile-up situation.  Guess your hands are "clean" and someone else will have to do that.
What's a matter, did I hit a nerve?
Maybe you should put a disclaimer on your posts to make it clear that you are just playing and dreaming.
LOL, STRUCK A NERVE!!!
I KNEW that was you!!! You may have changed your posting style a bit but, yep, you're that 'I'm NOT INDIAN, I'M EUROPEAN!' person. I won't even say MT, cuz I'm still not convinced you are in fact at MT with your horrid grammar.

Hehehehehehe, flame me all you want, chica...I KNOW this is you now!!!
This is just unfathomable to me (caution - rant enclosed)
I said once I'd never post on this board again, but this isn't a political issue, it reaches across the board. This just blows me away. 60 days' punishment for stealing this child's innocence and scarring her forever - it's just so far beyond appalling that I can't even think of a word that fits. I have to wonder if this guy would have been off the streets longer if he'd stolen a purse. Heaven forbid if he'd tortured a dog the way he tortured this child - they'd have probably thrown away the key! If he'd only gotten 60 days for it, you can bet PETA would have been all over it, but who is there for this little girl?Anyway, I have fired off a letter to Vermont's governor, for all the good it will probably do, and I am also sending prayers for this poor child.
Free is your rant, not Obama's proposal.
to put a fox in charge of the chicken coop? The economy is a wreck and cannot be fixed by those who refuse to even discuss the issue.
Outsourcing/China (warning - rant)

Hubby was telling me last night that China's economy is now tanking because ours is.  Factory workers over there were showing up for work only to find their business had closed because of lack of orders from the U.S.  India may be next.  You never know.  I don't see it happening with MT but like I said, you just don't know.  Did you see their work days?  6 days a week and something like 12 or 14 hours a day?

I hear lip service from Nobama/Maobama about cutting taxes to bring our businesses back but don't see him acting on it.  He's a one-termer.  Carter got us in a heap of trouble which Reagan (I know union employees aren't fond of him) had to get us out of.  All Nobama is doing is having construction/building jobs sprout up here and there.  And where does the money come from to pay for his multi-trillion dollar spending?  You got it - us.  Those jobs will eventually fizzle out, our country will be poorer and those people will once again be unemployed..

Dems coined the phrase Voodoo Economics for Reagan's Trickle Down Economics.  Whether or not you liked the man, he did a world of good for this country.  He did cut capital gains taxes and cut taxes for the rich.  Trickle down 101:  You cut taxes for the rich, they can afford to hire more employees, more often than not, at better wages.  Unemployment is down.  People go out and spend more money because they are employed and can afford to.  During Reagan's terms in office, he cut taxes immensely yet the government took in more money.  People would much rather spend their money the way they want than have the government take it and spend it.

Folks, we work for our government.  Our government should be working for us.  We should not live in fear of the IRS.  I attended a TEA party on April 15 and will attend more such events.  We should have a government for the people, of the people and by the people.  The protest was very peaceful and guess what?  Not a bit of litter was left to be found when it ended, like the disgrace that was left after the inauguration in Washington, DC.

We are getting so far away from a constitutional government, it's not funny.  Actually, my opinion is that we are currently a socialist government.  You know the next step after socialism?  Communism.

I read the most recent list of who they consider a terrorist.  Hoarding food?  Um, yep.  Better buy it now in case a depression hits.  Glad I have a breadmaker.  Wouldn't want to have to spend $50 on a loaf of bread.  Buying lots of ammo?  Sure, but then again, we do competition shooting.  Guns?  Yeah, we have our share, but variety is the spice of life (Hubby bought me a Macarov but I didn't care for the way it operated (too hard to load the mag), especially after the slide came back and sliced my thumb open 5 times, bad lacerations - my fault, was handling it wrong, so I got a Glock).  My husband is an Iraqi war vet.  That makes us both domestic terrorists.  Yet neither one of us even has the heart to even discipline our dogs.  We're both very gentle people.  Of course if someone broke into our home, we would defened ourselves.

I'm sorry for the rant but I just don't see Nobama caring much about outsourcing.  I really really really hope I am wrong and what he is doing for our country is the right thing but I truly resent being labeled a domestic terrorist because I see us headed for a depression and am stocking up on food, and my husband happened to be in the military during the Gulf war.

Thanks for listening.

Wow another angry rant by a SORE LOSER!
You LOST.  The Good Guys Won.  Get OVER IT! You'll feel better when you begin to confront your angry, hurt feelings and realize how much America repudiated your TREASON and your HATE.
ROFL! Strike a nerve, did I??????

I'm one of the happiest people you'd ever want to meet.

I just have zero tolerance and respect for people who exploit God and Jesus to further their own angry, hateful, lying platforms.

I was brought up to believe that God and Jesus represent love and peace and truth.  There is nothing about you or any of your posts that reflects those concepts.

I pray that you get help for the obvious anger, rage and hate and your total and absolute lack of ability to be straightforward and honest.  Instead, you seem to get much pleasure from stomping people into the ground and degrading them.  Poor you.

Maybe you're someone who used to have a life, but now you can't even afford to put gas in your car any more.  Maybe you're someone who used to be middle class but woke up one morning to find that your class is sinking (socioeconomic class, not your other obvious class deficiencies in how you treat people).  Maybe you can no longer afford to see your psychiatrist and/or take your antipsychotic medication due to the terrible state of America's healthcare system today. Maybe you used to get out of the house on weekends, but instead now you're forced to stay home because you can't afford to put gas in your car any more, and you're angry and need to take it out on someone, so you come here and flame liberals, instead of blaming the president that is running this country into the ground. But then you'd have to admit you were wrong for supporting him, and just like him, you can't admit you were wrong, right?

Either way, please try to get some help before your anger and rage consumes you any further and you wind up hurting yourself or someone else.  Perhaps I'm making it worse by confusing and angering you with the truth.  Perhaps it's best for us all if I don't respond to your attention-seeking any longer.

I certainly will pray for you, dear.  Please get help, and have a nice evening.

You have a lot of nerve assuming these women
xoxoxo
You got a lotta nerve being so self-righteous
nm
You people really have nerve - see message
A very nasty post by a liberal who is intent on having the country socialized. You people really have your nerve saying its always the conservatives that post the negative posts and how hateful we are. You know what...I've read every single post on this board. The two worst are this one and the one that says all pubs should be "rounded up and shipped off". You are the most hate-filled people it just oozes out of your revulsing posts.

You are such a biggot with you're "if you don't vote for Obama your a racist". attitute. That in itself is racist. Do you think Obama is out there saying vote for me cos I'm black. NO, he has been trying to get this off of race but you and other posters continue to try and make it about race when it isn't. Why? Do you think spreading fear is the answer? What's next, are you going to threaten that if a black man doesn't get in you'll what, you'll riot???

I am plenty happy with the debate last night. Whether you believe Obama or McCain won is simply your belief. If you think sitting and staring at the camera while lying through your teeth to us is a "winner". If you think not answering the questions posed about your immoral affiliations is a "winner". If you think snearing and snickering at everything your oponent has to say is a "winner". If you think talking in circles while not saying anything is a "winner". Then I'd say you've got an odd perception of winning.

To post a blatently hate-filled post calling people who don't agree with you "dippy" and in the same breath say we are haters and racists with the "my man won" statement just shows us what ignor@nce is.

I don't believe either "won". The last debate I believe Obama won, but this debate I do not believe anyone won. They went to tell people what their plans and policies are and what they can do for the country. If you choose to vote for someone who is a slick lawyer and will tell you they "feel your pain", while they are turning the knife in your back. Someone who knows nothing about foreign policies. Someone who associates and accepts money from terrorists, someone who believes in lying and cheating at all costs to win. Someone with the associations that Obama does then you don't live in the same country I believe in and you really need to move to Cuba, North Korea or other socialist run countries and I believe you will be perfectly happy there.

So for all the Obama lovers you will never see reason. You already had in your minds before the debate even began that Obama had won. Last night my husband and I were extremely happy with the debate. McCain came out and showed him what he's got. Yes, he got mad. It's not called "grouchy", it's called being mad that a slimy little lawyer worm will look at the american people and lie to their faces, except of course when he actually has a one-on-one conversation with someone and tells them he's going to take more money from them and give it to those who have nothing and will do nothing. Your okay with redistributing the wealth? Guess your one of the ones who will benefit from that and that's why you like that socialist plan. But then the coward laywer doesn't even have the decency to tell hundreds of people in a group he's going to redistribute all their wealth, because they need make too much money and they need to give it to Jose, Bob, Maria or Mary - the ones who won't go out and get a job and have some phony illness so they can sit on their you know what's watching Jerry Springer and soaps and keep receiving money for doing nothing. I know a lot of people like that who cheat the system to get something for nothing, then laugh and brag about it to their freinds in the pizza joint I go to. I wonder if that system was to go into effect how many people would quit their jobs so they too could get paid for not doing anything too.

McCain finally brought up Obama's shady affiliations. I believe he could have pounded him more, especially after Obama blantatly lied again about his affiliations. All I say is I believe John McCain did a fine job last night, and I wouldn't count your chickens before they are hatched. The election has not been held yet, and as hard as your party is trying to cheat and steal votes, I hope that the courts will do the right thing and investigate the fraud and abuse going on by the democratic party.

WASHINGTON —  The United States has found 500 chemical weapons in Iraq since 2003, and more weapons of mass destruction are likely to be uncovered, two Republican lawmakers said Wednesday.

"We have found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, chemical weapons," Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., said in a quickly called press conference late Wednesday afternoon.

Reading from a declassified portion of a report by the National Ground Intelligence Center, a Defense Department intelligence unit, Santorum said: "Since 2003, coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent. Despite many efforts to locate and destroy Iraq's pre-Gulf War chemical munitions, filled and unfilled pre-Gulf War chemical munitions are assessed to still exist."

US used mustard and nerve gas in Fallujah.

If you like, I can document a history of US use of these agents, starting with Viet Nam and moving forward. We supplied this junk to Iraq in the 1980s when we supported Saddam before we didn't.
I think I hit a nerve because you get caught in errors often
...if you want to succeed in this business
It sounds like the post hit a nerve with you
Well you evidently didn't read my post. I already said I look forward to hearing the O's plans and him putting into place everything he promised he would. Our country is in "the dog house" for lack of better words and we need solutions to make our country great. That is what we are looking to the O for. So why do you think that is hitting a nerve? Some of us do get over things and look towards the future on how our country can become a great nation again. Not focusing on the past and unimportant issues like whether or not there is a wedding in the family of Sarah and Todd Palin.

You just don't like that you are called out on the malicious digs that keep spreading about Palin's daughter.

As for rebutting O's lies. My oh my, never do have any time to talk about what really matters. Just want to trash one side while praising and ignoring what's going on in the other side.

I see you also did not read my message because I specifically stated in there they still plan to get married next summer. How do you possibly even equate this with being "convenient". Whether she married someone earlier or later has no effect on how people voted. You surely can't believe that! People who were interested in what McCain/Palin's issues/plans and Obama/Biden's issues/plans certainly could care less with whether her daughter was going to get married. If you are so concerned with what she said about her daughter getting married then what about Obama telling everyone during the campaign that his daughters will go to to a public school and now they are not.

You'll sure bash one side and refuse to discuss issues on the other side.

As for destroying Palin's life...you surely must have been asleep during the entire campaign. Let's see...there is MSNBC, Olberman, Maddow, Matthews, Katie Curic (sp?), CBS, Gibson, Lorne Michaels, CNN, etc, etc, etc. I would not spew the "unqualified" issue around until you take a good look at the O. Everyone knows it? Maybe in your mind. The last time I looked 59,934,814 people believe she is qualified. Those same people believe the O is not.

Yeah you have a nice day there too!
The very nerve!!! The utter gall!!!
Imagine McC hosting a dinner honoring Obama. NOT!
JTBB. you have the nerve to say OTHERS label?

There, I labeled you.  You deserve it.

You are losing it gt, starting to scream and rant. Best rest now. nm

I have no clue why you added this Bush rant to my post...
George Bush did not single-handedly send troops to war. There is that little ol thing called Congress who have to vote to allow him to go to war, he can't just do it on his own. And guess what...they DID. Democrats and Republicans alike. I just don't understand why some Americans don't understand THAT. Blame it on George Bush, like he was King or something. He did not do it alone. And you are right, I will NEVER accept that ANY soldier died for no reason. How arrogant of anyone to even suggest such a thing. Our men and women in uniform go where they are sent and they do their duty. Shame on ANY American who would publically say those brave young men and women died in vain, I don't care what their politics are. To me, that reeks.

I also do not know why it is so easy for some Americans to totally ignore the many reasons we went into Iraq. Have you ever actually read the Iraq resolution passed by Congress? I seriously doubt it. Hussein was in violation of so many UN resolutions it would take a ream of paper to list them. And he did finance and harbor terrorists. One of the perps of the Achille Lauro hijacking lived out his miserable life there being given free medical care and a free ride by the Hussein government. Zarqawi had his little terrorist training camp up in Northern Iraq for a year before we went in. One of Hussein's higher ups met with Mohammed Atta a couple of months before 9-11. What do you think they were talking about? The weather?

I don't believe I even mentioned the President in my post. I believe we went into Iraq for a good reason, we had been hit and we had to hit back harder. We did so in Iraq and Afghanistan. We have not had another major attack since that happened. Wonder why that is...????

My point is, the President is not singly responsible for the war in Iraq. The Congress is just as responsible. So when you start to lay blame and malign the names of good men and women who died for something they believed in, even if you don't....you should spread the blame evenly. Get off the Hate Bush train and back into reality.
I didn't rant, honey, just gave my opinion........sm
I did try to explain it to you, very nicely. You and others just won't listen.

I don't mind, really I don't. Makes it so much easier for McCain to win.

It ain't over till the fat lady sings......

Let's chat again on Nov 5, shall we?
No sale.....sounds like a rush limpball rant
x
You just called me a bigot, and you have the nerve to complain

Chris was so tasteless and had the nerve to say he was trying to have dialouge...nm
I think the NYT has the right to publish any information that they can verify. If it is classified information that should not have been known to the public, the question is who leaked it?

I've heard the jist of the story but I need to read the NYT article.
Stupid question....I got Rick Santelli on a rant with this link.....
did I do something wrong? LOL.
She did rant when Bush was prez. Now everything is blue skies with a big pot'o'change
at the end of the rainbow!
whooo hooooo guess I touched a nerve there...
listen, friend. If someone posted something like that about one of Obama's children, I would be on here ragging them the same way! Candidates' children should not be fodder for the public. It is wrong and mean spirited to involve them...be it Obama, McCain, Biden, or any of the rest.

Obviously no one here did make it up, but several have tried to defend it and one did post it.

I try to avoid the KOS at all costs.

I have a life. I also have people I love. I feel terrible for Bristol Palin. What did she do to what daily kos printed? Like Bristol, admit the child is yours.

Again...if someone printed some rude innuendo about one of Obama's children I would be screaming about that just as loud.

Republicans have a lot of nerve calling Obama an elitist! (nm)
:O
You have the nerve to talk label Islam. Look at the so-called Christian

Robertson suggests God smote Sharon

Evangelist links Israeli leader's stroke to 'dividing God's land'

(CNN) -- Television evangelist Pat Robertson suggested Thursday that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was divine retribution for the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, which Robertson opposed.

He was dividing God's land, and I would say, 'Woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course to appease the [European Union], the United Nations or the United States of America,' Robertson told viewers of his long-running television show, The 700 Club.

God says, 'This land belongs to me, and you'd better leave it alone,' he said.

Robertson's show airs on the ABC Family cable network and claims about 1 million viewers daily.

Sharon, 77, clung to life in a Jerusalem hospital Thursday after surgery to treat a severe stroke, his doctors said.

The prime minister, who withdrew Israeli settlers and troops from Gaza and parts of the West Bank last summer over heated objections from his own Likud Party, was breathing with the aid of a ventilator after doctors operated to stop the bleeding in his brain.

In Washington, President Bush offered praise for Sharon in a speech on Thursday.

We pray for his recovery, Bush said. He's a good man, a strong man. A man who cared deeply about the security of the Israeli people, and a man who had a vision for peace. May God bless him.

Daniel Ayalon, Israel's ambassador to the United States, compared Robertson's remarks to the overheated rhetoric of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. (Full story)

He called the comments outrageous and said they were not something to expect from any of our friends.

He is a great friend of Israel and a great friend of Prime Minister Sharon himself, so I am very surprised, Ayalon told CNN.

Robertson, 75, founded the Christian Coalition and in 1988 failed in a bid for the Republican presidential nomination. He last stirred controversy in August, when he called for the assassination of Venezuela's president, Hugo Chavez. (Full story)

Robertson later apologized, but still compared Chavez to Hitler and former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein in the process.

The same month, the Anti-Defamation League criticized Robertson for warning that God would bring judgment against Israel for its withdrawal from Gaza, which it had occupied since the 1967 Mideast war.

Robertson said Thursday that Sharon was a very likable person, and I am sad to see him in this condition.

He linked Sharon's health problems to the 1995 assassination of Israeli leader Yitzhak Rabin, who signed the Oslo peace accords that granted limited self-rule to Palestinians.

It was a terrible thing that happened, but nevertheless, now he's dead, Robertson said.

Rabin was gunned down by a religious student opposed to the Oslo accords. The killer, Yigal Amir, admitted to the crime and was sentenced to life in prison.

Rev. Barry Lynn, executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, criticized Robertson's comments Thursday, saying the televangelist has a political agenda for the entire world.

He seems to think God is ready to take out any world leader who stands in the way of that agenda, Lynn said in a written statement.

A religious leader should not be making callous political points while a man is struggling for his life, he said. I'm appalled.

Ralph Neas, president of liberal advocacy group People for the American Way, said it is astonishing that Pat Robertson still wields substantial influence in the Republican Party.

Once again, Pat Robertson leaves us speechless with his insensitivity and arrogance, Neas said in a written statement.

According to The Associated Press, Robertson spokeswoman Angell Watts said of people who criticized the comments: What they're basically saying is, 'How dare Pat Robertson quote the Bible?'

This is what the word of God says, Watts told the AP. This is nothing new to the Christian community.
