I have mixed views here, but I found it amazing, as I read this board around election time, and then shortly thereafter, that all the Bushwackers and Right Wingers were already condemning and DOOMING the Obama administration....way before the man even took the oath of office! Now George had 8+ years to do good for this country, to help the economy, the reach out to the poor, to upgrade the educational system, and what did his administration do? Let's see, instead of getting Bin Ladin, we spend billions and billions, and thousands of precious lives, on a war with Iraq for those infamous invisible WMDs which no one could find, and which was reported to the President ahead of time. We have made most of the world hate us for our arrogance and stupidity. He let Wall Street run amok and watched the country go down in ashes....stop bashing Obama, no he is not God, he is not perfect, he has faults, he will make mistakes inevitably (and I am not fond of several things in the stimulus bill), but by God give him a chance, he has barely been in office a MONTH versus 8 excruciating, embarrassing years with the Bush gang, support him as our American President, and stop DOOMING his administration before he even gets a chance. Sorry, off my worn-out soap box now!

I don't hate Dems. I just don't agree with them. And I don't understand how they can say they are the party of the people and want to fight so hard for freedom of choice and individual rights, and then turn on one lone poster like a pack of snarling dogs for disagreeing with them. to be President, because I think it is wrong for the country. That is the great thing about America...we can all have our opinions. You can say Obama's "former" pastor if you like. I don't think on a personal level Obama has changed his feelings toward Wright or the doctrine of his church. He went there for 20 years. The man married he and his wife and baptized both of his children. He called him mentor. He wants to get elected so he publically distanced himself. I don't say that because I hate Obama. I say that because that is my impression of his actions. Frankly, I would have thought more of him if he would just have been honest about it. But he wants the job.
Haggee is not McCain's pastor and never has been. McCain has been going to North Phoenix Baptist Church for 15 years and his pastor is neither of these men. Parsley is a friend from what I understand, but neither of these men are McCain's pastor and he did not have a relationship with them like Obama had with Wright. Haggee just came out and endorsed McCain, and when McCain heard the comments he rejected the endorsement, just like Obama rejected Wright. So I suppose they are even on that score. McCain never took "advice" from Haggee, that I can find evidence of. Haggee simply publically endorsed him.
I do have some good things to say about McCain. He is third generation military and both his sons are in the military; one is in Iraq as we speak. He is a decorated war hero. His family has a history of service to this country. I believe that is a very good thing in these dangerous times. He had some issues in his personal life as a young man, did things he is ashamed of...but so did Obama. McCain cheated on his first wife and Obama did drugs and drank as a teenager. Both have been honest about that.
I also think we as Americans need to get over the blame game. Oil companies are not responsible for the mess we are in, neither are CEOs and millionaires (of which both Obama and McCain are). Yes, there have been some crooked CEOs. But you never hear about the thousands of other CEOs in the country who are NOT crooked and people act like they don't care about those other thousands. Just lump all CEOs together and say they are corrupt. Is that really fair?
Are all millionaires really to blame? The Bill Gates Foundation gives millions every year to charitable causes. So do many other millionaires. The so-called millionaries, big boys and CEOs also pay 90% of the taxes in this country already. Don't you think that is enough? If the Democrats keep on like they are, taxing American businesses into oblivion, businesses will fail, people will lose jobs and jobs will continue to go overseas. When it gets too expensive to operate in this country because of ridiculous taxes, if a business is to survive it has no choice but to offshore. That just makes economic sense. Instead of "taxing the rich" so much and driving businesses and employment offshore, they need to incentivize them to stay here. Oh...I guess that makes too much sense.

when he hardly has any experience at all himself and has associations with terrorists. Does it not bother you people that dictators WANT Obama to be our president? Does that not concern you? A man who says there are 57 states. You keep harping on McCain being old and SP being a "hearbeat" away from the presidency but don't you think that there is a greater risk of an assassination attempt on Barrack Obama being that he would be the first African-American pres and there are some crazy bigots out there who would refuse to let that happen. What then....you want Joe Biden in office.....a man who said Roosevelt was the president at the beginning of the great depression and warned people on TV when Roosevelt wasn't the pres at the beginning of the great depression and there was no TV back then. I don't hate Barack Obama. I just don't want...
the Unites Socialist States of America, and he does. He and I fundamentally disagree on denying medical care to infants surviving abortion. I don't trust someone who has the kinds of associations he has...I think it speaks to an agenda that I don't think is healthy for America.
That being said, if John McCain was a socialist and championed infanticide and the worst thing I could find about Obama is that he cheated on his wife umpteen years ago, I would be voting for Obama. It is not the man, it is the ISSUES, MT Pockets...the ISSUES, and what I (I cannot speak for others) want for ourselves and our country, just like you do.

If she isn't coached, she doesn't do very well. When she is coached, that is her pat answer for the entire episode of questioning. I like Obama as a speaker, I think Obama is very intelligent and educated. I think Obama is very attractive. I like a lot of the ideas he has. I just cannot skirt around the issue of those he has associated with and the church he attended for 20 YEARS! I find it hard to believe he is not racist against me, a plain old white citizen. I think it doesn't matter that I have friends of all races, and that I love someone of another race. All that matters to his minister is that I am white and that makes him hate me, and if Obama didn't also hate me, and those like me, then why did he continue to attend that church and listen to the acid spewing from his minister's mouth for 20 years?  While I think it is horrible that our ancestors forced African's into slavery and treated them horribly, I didn't do it! I would never do it! I love everyone! Why do I have to be a victim of prejudice now, just because I am white? Why can't prejudice not exist either way?

and I do mean Bush haters. I have never seen so many people focused on hating one person. It is pretty darn scary. I am not a Democrat, but I do not agree with everything Bush has done by a long shot. I vote for the man (or woman) who most closely follows my values and I feel would be best for the country as a whole. So far there are no Democrats I could vote for in good conscience..too many fundamental differences. I could have voted for Zell Miller and would have if I lived in his state. I am looking for something different, not something falling on rote party lines. Think I found that in Fred Thompson. He says some very important things, one being unity...if this country cannot unite again, we will not stand strong. No other candidate is talking about unity. He is talking about federalism...putting more power back in the states where it belongs constitutionally and in every other way. That is the best way to really know "the will of the people," as the important law changes at the state level are put to an actual vote of the people. What a concept. He also says that 5 or 6 judges should not legislate from the bench and shove laws down the throats of the entire country, which is as UNconstitutional as it can be. He also believes in true religious freedom (which means not painting a target on Christians and everything Christian as the ACLU is so fond of doing). We have gone from freedom OF religion to freedom FROM religion, and that, my friend, is at the core of the problems this country faces today. Okay, off my soapbox. :-)

Waste 101- Hannity haters, do not read
Although I'm not a big fan of Hannity, he had a countdown last night. I'd like to know how does landscaping certain hotels, buildings, etc. contribute to jobs? What happened to the infrastructure spending for roads and bridges that was to create jobs...even though those jobs would be temporary, some projects would have given a year or two of work. It still seems like these jobs are "once and done" jobs.
Even Microsoft gets a bridge across a highway so the workers have easier access to their other building across the highway. Why, since he's #2(?) in Forbes, couldn't he pay for it himself? 
Hopefully, this list will be on line soon. It's not there yet.
The total for the 101 stimulus spending was $1,234,631,672. The good news is at least we know where some of the stimulus/omnibus money is going.

I just don't see how McCain can put that statement out there when he has all of them working for him, and expect us to believe in it. Do you believe everything he says or can you see that he does lie, or stretch the truth?
I don't believe everything Obama says and I have said many times that I am still undecided who to vote for, but even if I were voting for Obama I am objective enough to know that he can't follow through with everything he says, and stretches things/lies also.

Government grew and paychecks shrunk. Promises broken, tax increases (with the Clinton administration). The Clintons did nothing for the middle income people. Their “1% wealthiest” friends continued to receive more benefits. Our families friends were losing their houses and had to go back to living with their parents as they could no longer afford to live anymore. I think a lot of people forget the following:

Barack Obama in a display of post-partisanship went to House Republicans and listened to their concerns and responded with a post-partisan/healing/bring us altogether response that we expect from our new President:
During his private meeting with congressional Democrats and Republicans on Friday, President Obama ended a philosophical debate over tax policy with the simple declaration that his opinion prevailed because "I won."
Democrats called it a light-hearted moment that drew laughs around the table. Republicans said there was laughter but couldn't recall if any of it came from their ranks.
Guys, could anyone imagine George W. Bush saying something like to Democrats in 2005? I can't. It's arrogance illustrated. And Keith Olbermann would name Bush "The Worst Person in the World" for it.
Also, Barack Obama had some interest in advising the GOP on their listening habits if they wanted good relations with the White House:
Washington -- President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.
"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.
Thus we're beginning to see Barack Obama's big problem when it comes to bi-partisanship. He doesn't know where to begin. He has never worked with Republicans on substantive matters. During the year Republicans controlled the Illinois legislature, Obama was an irrelevant backbencher. In the Senate, the one issue he worked a Republican on was relatively minor (earmark transparency.) Comments like today's won't help. If Obama can't get serious Republican support for his stimulus plan, it could get it delayed, while vulnerable Democrats seek cover. If it doesn't work, Democrats could left holding the bag if it goes wrong.
Plus, what a difference a day makes. Or at least President Obama seems to think so. He was widely expected to lift the Mexico City Policy of funding International organizations that support abortions, yesterday on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Instead, he demurred and issued a tepid statement about the need to reduce abortions. It looked like he was saving his political capital and avoiding too quickly dwindling the good will he had from most Americans, so he waits one day, but still does it:
WASHINGTON, Jan 23 (Reuters) - President Barack Obama on Friday lifted restrictions on U.S. government funding for groups that provide abortion services or counseling abroad, reversing a policy of his Republican predecessor George W. Bush.
The Democratic president's decision was a victory for advocates of abortion rights on an issue that in recent years has become a tit-for-tat policy change each time the White House shifts from one party to the other.
When the ban was in place, no U.S. government funding for family planning services could be given to clinics or groups that offered abortion services or counseling in other countries, even if the funds for those activities came from non-U.S. government sources.
Ah, it's so good to know that my tax dollars now go to organizations that are sending abortion missionaries overseas to spread abortion around the world.
Did waiting until January 23rd help Obama any? Slightly. Obama did it at 5 PM ET, buried on a Friday which is good for limiting media coverage, but the folks who were going to learn about this decision and understand it were never going to hear about it from the mainstream press. Plus, not doing it on January 22nd means not being engaged with a fight on the same day as the March for Life, but Obama's still fighting the culture war on the left side of the equation.
However, realistically, this is a decision that could have waited much longer-at least until after the stimulus was passed. Most of these dollars have already been designated as to where they're going. Obama spent political capital that he could have saved for a few more weeks which makes the move a mis-step.
Obama had no choice to do it eventually. He had to pay off his supporters in the abortion rights movement, who like many other industries are looking for a bailout. However, they could have waited a little longer.

I don't agree that we should protect a pedophile, I don't agree with a lot of other things listed in the OP's list, but that does not mean that I think people in America have the right to physically harm the people that practice those things, and if they are harmed, then the person doing the harm should be punished.

it was written by a black pastor and it is his opinion. He was not hired by nor affiliated with the McCain campaign. There are several black preachers who do not agree with black liberation theology. There was nothing in his post about hatred. He said homosexuality was a sin..it is. He didn't say he hated gays...just that the Bible says the ACT is a sin..and it is. Just like lying, adultery, murder, etc. It does have the distinction of being the one sin that God classified as an "abomination." All the preacher was pointing out was that when Obama said there was nothing specific in the Bible regarding homosexuality...he was wrong. Again...there is no hatred in that post. He just doesn't agree with Obama's philosophy. Where you get hate from that I don't know....did you even read the post?
And by the way....sniping and cattiness must be your strong suit? You seem to excel in that area. Can you just drop the cattiness and sniping (as you asked that I do) and go figure, as you told me to do? Thank you so very much.
