it also seems that the biggest proponents of "free love" and who needs a license - also lived very traditional lifestyles of marriage and family or were lesbian. Steinem, Friedan, Fonda come to mind.

The past presidents of NOW that I recall were married or were lesbian, or once married and then switched lifestyle.

I'm not particularly for or against "the women's movement" but it seems what most women gained from the "movement" was the right to work low wage jobs, casual sex, and struggling with single parenting - a terrible mix in my opinion.

I remember when many believed if the doors were opened to women that women would put a gentler face on the world. But seems like instead we just got the same "man's world" but with a few more breasts in the suits.
