I do not waste my time responding to your political posts, and I will not waste my time arguing semantics with you. I would not associate with you in my personal life, and you are not worth my time and energy on this forum. I am afraid you will have to find someone else to listen to your nonsense.

Do you folks never tire of being scared and scaring each other? There is bigotry and there is racism, both of which pervaded during this election cycle in the media and at pub rallies. To deny this is so is truly beyond ridiculous. Yours is a very small, dark world view, unfounded in reality and not worthy of further comment.

Mailing hundreds, thousands, or hundreds of thousands of red envelopes is a waste of time and money. It is not going to have any effect on the abortion law, and the only winner is the post office. Can't you people think of more constructive ways to support a cause?

1) Agree with the point about Afghanistan. If our troops weren't burdened with fighting an unnecessary war in Iraq, we might be able to have a stronger presence in Afghanistan, as well as protect ourselves at home in case of a disaster (terroristic or natural). Our troops are spread too thin, and the military keeps raising the age limit and lowering physical standards for enlistment as a reseult.
2) I agree with this.
3) Bush has recently admitted that Iraq had no WMDs and also had nothing to do with 9/11. Do you think he is lying?
4) Tony Snow has made some really stupid statements, including blaming 9/11 on Bush 41.
5) Bush was the only leader who held out so the war could continue longer when the rest of the world pleaded for it to end.

I was responding to gt's, and no, I was not around when those other posts were made, and that's why I didn't comment on them.
I was responding to the "drunk" comment that gt made which was totally off par and shows what that gt is here for only one reason and that is to incite fighting, because calling someone a drunk without knowing them at all is definitely fighting words.
I don't know how you can render me a phoney, because I have told you nothing of my self. That is again, a baseless judgement. GT was typing nonsenical stuff right after telling someone their posting habits sounded like those of a drunk. If posting habits are evidence of drunkeness then gt needs to look at his or her posting style.

...is that you end up leaving out important phrases!
The $72 an hour figure quoted in the article, I should have said, isn't made of *just* the wages and benefits of current employees--it's also including those paid to retired workers, the ones who paid into the retirement fund their whole lives, and are now living off those benefits.
In other words, you take the wages/benefits paid to the current 180,000 or so autoworkers, PLUS those paid to the 400,000 or so retirees and the 120,000 spouses of dead retirees, then divide that by the 180,000 current workers, then say, LOOK HOW MUCH THOSE GUYS GET PAID! It's an incredibly artifically inflated number.
And noooo one in the media ever seems to question it.

So, in this bill are provisions to improve education, rebuild and upgrade our energy grid, improve transportion and infrastructure that is sooo needed, lowers the cost of healthcare, and the list goes on and on. All of these things benefit future generations. My personal favorite project is research and development into alternative fuels. This will provide a completely new industry for future generations as well as reduce our dependency on foreign oil. In case you haven't noticed, current production of just about everything in the US is diminishing. Is that what we want to leave our kids?--- a dwindling country? Yeah, its expensive...very expensive. But the alternative is to do nothing, and that definately will not help future generations.

They only come here to incite, to insult, to spread their hatred and rage all over this board. It's physically impossible for them to stay on the Conservative board because they all agree, and they're not happy unless they can be vile and nasty and mean and stomp people into the ground, all the time wrapping themselves in the Bible and the flag. They have posted bait on the Conservative board, and when nobody bites, they migrate to the Liberal board to get their daily fixes of hate mongering. It must somehow make them feel like they have some power in their pitiful, mundane, unimportant, moronic little lives.
My suggestion is that we don't even read their posts. Let them see that their posts were read 0 times, with no replies. We are providing the fuel for their hatred every time we read or respond to one of their hateful posts.

Sure, it is not a waste to acquire any skill
and I think being able to speak more than one language is a good thing. However, why is it that we must become bilingual in our own country to accommodate people who will not become bilingual when they move to our country?

Waste 101- Hannity haters, do not read
Although I'm not a big fan of Hannity, he had a countdown last night. I'd like to know how does landscaping certain hotels, buildings, etc. contribute to jobs? What happened to the infrastructure spending for roads and bridges that was to create jobs...even though those jobs would be temporary, some projects would have given a year or two of work. It still seems like these jobs are "once and done" jobs.
Even Microsoft gets a bridge across a highway so the workers have easier access to their other building across the highway. Why, since he's #2(?) in Forbes, couldn't he pay for it himself? 
Hopefully, this list will be on line soon. It's not there yet.
The total for the 101 stimulus spending was $1,234,631,672. The good news is at least we know where some of the stimulus/omnibus money is going.
