Do you folks never tire of being scared and scaring each other? There is bigotry and there is racism, both of which pervaded during this election cycle in the media and at pub rallies. Mailing hundreds, thousands, or hundreds of thousands of red envelopes is a waste of time and money. It is not going to have any effect on the abortion law, and the only winner is the post office. Can't you people think of more constructive ways to support a cause?

Do I think Bush is a good President?
In some ways, yes, I think he is. I think we had exactly the right President who was able to bring the country together in the aftermath of 9-11. I think he did a masterful job of that. I think he did a masterful job of not letting this country fall all to pieces in the days after whe nobody knew what was coming next. I don't think John Kerry would have been able to do it.
I think he has made huge strides to keeping this country safe, and I attribute no more attacks on our home soil directly to his terrorism policies, and the fact that he drew a line in the sand for the terrorists. You hit us, we are going to hit you harder. Frankly I think that is the only thing they understand. Obviously they do...they have not tried it again.
Of course I don't like all of his policies...he has been way to heavy on the spending. Way too heavy.
I think history will remember him more kindly than this generation will.
I think, overall, he is a good President all things considered. I know one thing, I will be forever grateful he was President on 9-11 and how he held this country together and protected it afterward and that is no small feat. I will always be glad about that.

Well, I don't believe in cookie cutter images and I don't think all Republicans govern the same and all democrats govern the same. We have had not so good Presidents from both parties. And from what I research, and just watching McCain over the years, John McCain is not like Bush at all. They have polar opposite personalities. Bush has never bucked the Republican party. McCain has, and plenty of times, to the point of voting with democrats on bills he believed in. I like that. Obama has never bucked the Democratic party, and neither have the Clintons, at least not publically. When Bush made that comment about looking into Putin's eyes and seeing a man yada yada, McCain said I look in his eyes and see KGB. Looking at Russia now I think McCain was much more correct on that issue. McCain and Bush are nothing alike. Yes, you see pictures of them hugging...Obama has made hay with that in ads. I have seen Obama hug Bill Clinton too, but I don't believe that indicates they are big buds...lol.
It is unfair to put all Republicans in the same bag and say another Republican will govern just like the last one. Not true with them, not true with Democrats.

The 2 main choices are horrible. They only offer a continuation of the status quo. Nothing on bringing the troops home (now not 5 years from now), no sound monetary policy, reinstating our civil liberties, etc. Third party candidates have better platforms. People should be voting principles over party, or you deserve whatever you get.

You did not mention that when Summersby was dying of cancer she stated that it had been a romantic affair after all and wrote about it in her book. This contradicted what she had earlier stated. Who knows what really happened, and does it really matter? I doubt it. It only proves that we're all flawed humans, even some Republicans!!

of Obama's so-called life-time experienced and then list Palin's. The only thing he has over her is he is in Washington and she is not....which IMHO is refreshing. They have to complete 40 hours of
community service each year. The district provides a list of opportunities for them to chose from. If they want to do something that is not on the list, such as initiate their own project, they simply have to have it approved beforehand to be sure it will count toward their credits. Scouting activities, NHS CS commitments, etc., all count toward this requireement.

I am just shaking my head. It is amazing to me that anyone would think God is okay with abortion. I believe he is okay with personal choice, of course I do, my faith is based greatly on that belief. Someone makes a choice when they take any life, inside the womb or outside. That does not mean God condones murder. You are representing that the Bible, and therefore God, condones abortion, and I cannot wrap my mind around that. To follow your line of reasoning, I should be able to steal from you and not have the government interfere because it is my choice to steal from you and I have to answer only to my maker. If a person breaks into your house (his choice) and rapes you or kills you, (his choice), then he should be free to do so and only have to face his maker. Can you not see how destructive that line of thinking can become? You think that is ridiculous, but I promise you that 20 years ago people thought abortion was ridiculous, same sex marriage would horrify my parents...if left unchecked, horrible things can happen. The amazing thing is, the moral compass becomes so skewed that the horrible becomes the acceptable. As I said before, that kind thinking is what helped a madman rise to power, and thousands upon thousands of people either jumped on the bandwagon or turned their heads and condoned something horrific, on the premise that a whole race of people were inferior and subhuman and therefore it was all right to exterminate them. THAT is what happens when people begin to devalue life. I do not want that to EVER happen again, to ANYONE. I realize that is probably falling on deaf ears because I will get the rote I don't believe it is life again and you are unable to draw the parallel. You see, that is a fundamental difference between you and me...I care about what happens to you as an individual and what happens to this country and every person in it, so I gave it one last shot. It is hard for me to just walk away. But walk away I shall, because sometimes you have to. is in order. I find a lot of "cut and paste" abounding in our world and you never get the complete TRUTH. I want the real McCoy before I would even venture to speculate on this issue. BTW, an athiest doesn't have to DISprove god (you can't prove a negative, anyway), you have to prove that he *does* exist, and you can't. And wouldn't you think if he really existed, he would prove it to the entire world's satisfaction anyway and put an end to the debate and all the relious wars, conflict, genocide, misery, suffering, etc? So, in this bill are provisions to improve education, rebuild and upgrade our energy grid, improve transportion and infrastructure that is sooo needed, lowers the cost of healthcare, and the list goes on and on. All of these things benefit future generations. My personal favorite project is research and development into alternative fuels. This will provide a completely new industry for future generations as well as reduce our dependency on foreign oil. In case you haven't noticed, current production of just about everything in the US is diminishing. Is that what we want to leave our kids?--- a dwindling country? Yeah, its expensive...very expensive. But the alternative is to do nothing, and that definately will not help future generations.
Case in point. Complete intolerance for any view other than their own.
