The post was inappropriate, but was a threat made??

Bye bye freedom of speech.

FBI has better things to be working on and I'm afraid if this is any indication they are going to be bombarded with inappropriate statements.

seems to have more to do with religion than politics nm

Let's keep topic politics and keep religion out of it.

Religion has no place in politics.
.
Religion has no place in politics. It should go back

I agree with you. Religion has no place in politics; what we
need is righteousness.  We need righteous leaders. That's why Christians need to be on their faces seeking answers from the God they serve.
Perhaps he was afraid of being attacked for mixing politics and religion
I don't think it was anything to get uup in arms about - but of course people get up in arms about EVERYTHING this man does - even to having pizza in the White House.

People need to quit grasping at straws and focus on important issues!
Religion doesn't belong in politics, Church-lady.
.
Because you posted on the Main board not Politics board.
It was removed, as we do not have an option of moving from Main to Politics.

This could have easily been avoided had you posted on the correct board.

The response from another poster to not post political viewpoints on this board was becuase you posted it on the Main board.
Politics board = political topics. Faith board = religious topics.

Please keep all religious/faith topics and discussions on the Faith board.  This would involve your beliefs, whether Christian or atheist, etc.

The Politics board is strictly for political topics and discussions.

Her daughter is not in politics - take it to the gab board
Gloating about the sadness that some kids are going through belongs on the gab board. Her daughter and daughters bf never ran for a political position. It's bad enough to see the Palin bashing continue past the election (get over it), but to gloat about someone's misery is shameful, especially when they are not in politics. The OP was obviously gloating and it's disgusting to know there are people so spiteful that they can't let it go with Palin, they have to drag her kids (soon to continue to her family soon) into the bashing too and express their happiness about the awful circumstances her kids are going through - real nice!!! Take the gossip to the gab board.

And if you look below you'll see many posts by me. I'm not a coward to use my moniker I've always been using.

People - take it to the gab board - bf is not in politics
So what he never graduated high school. My dad never graduated high school and he's held jobs his whole life. Raised two kids, nephews. Sacrificed everything for us and I love him for it. He's no less of a person than people who did graduate high school, which some of them are bums!

So what her bf didn't graduate high school. That has nothing to do with politics.
what's wrong with you? This is the Politics Board.
If you cannot make a contribution to discussing politics then move to another board with your ignorance.
Well Brunson, I've been posting on the politics board on mtstars sm
for a few years, since it was created. It has took some tough skin - really tough to debate Nan and AG and the others of their ilk. Though I must say their unwaivering love and confidence in President Bush is almost admirable and I can't help but respect a person who knows what they believe in and stand strong for it; at the very same time, not being open to other's view points is close minded.

I have seen in my day AG (AKA Bush Supporter), Nan, and more of their coherts run quite a few liberal minded, even meek speaking posters and they did it with no regard to their feelings. They like to make the debate a personal one, so I would say by looking at what the trolls did to them was a healthy dose of their own medicine, and by the way from what I've read I didn't see death wished on anyone. That's yet another trick of theirs, again you would have to know them, to demonize everything the democrats/liberals say.

So you expect politics to be *pleasant*. I can remember on the other board SM
two of the regular posters leaving and you and your friends celebrating on the board.  Ding Dong the witch is dead. Stuff like that. Immature, but that's typical. Still, you celebrated.  They left because you HOUNDED THEM OFF.  You were relentless in posting multiple times to their every post, no matter what it was about.  They said they left for the good of the board. You are leaving because you can't take the heat. Big HUGE difference.  If you can't and won't have the strength of your convictions, then what good are you.  Thank God our Lord Jesus Christ had more backbone.
Ironic that you are on the Politics board when you aren't American
At least that what you say, that you're not from American and are European.

Interesting indeed...

Okay, now that I'm satisfied that you are indeed the poster I thought you were, I'm outta this thread.

Good luck, ladies!!!
politics and religion go hand in hand...
Whether or not we like it, many of our laws are governed by religion. Without some sort of religion, who is to say that murder is "wrong," thus making it a religious argument, not a political one (by your methodology) and, yet, we still have a law against it.
On reading this board, gt has made generalizations about everything. But
well called on it, i.e., all republicans are liars, she backtracks.  Can't waste my time with people like that.
I am responding to all the posters who have made a living on this board denegrating everything that
new President does, even though he has just taken office, give me a break. George had 8 years, and each year was worse than the one before it.....I am not "whining" about Bush, the past is the past and I am trying very hard to focus on change, on a new future, on how we can all help, etc., not waving the Democratic flag, but the AMERICAN flag, I am just referring to history, nonpartison history.
Please describe the actual physical threat that you allege was made on this internet chat board.

Thank you.

Sorry but I don't appreciate that comment, nor do I like "Dude" from someone who wants to lead us in whatever crisis we encounter. Imagine speaking to King whomever or whatever, "Hey, Dude, is that your hair or are you wearin a towel there?" Sorry, but clean up your act, Mrs.!!! And, oh, PS - I am from the Boston area and sometimes drop "ing" from my conversation but learn the language and speak like a lady! Children and family first, then any time left over you may be able to play politics with the dudes, dudettes and the six-pack Joes of the world!! Give it up and stay home!

Your neocon party rhetoric is disturbing.
That is rather rude and inappropriate.

You don't touch strangers like that and you don't make comments about their muscles or lack thereof.  He should know better.

Let us hope that when Obama and Biden sit down to talk to terrorists that Biden doesn't reach over and tug on Obama's beard and tell him he needs a trim or shave.  LOL!

No, it was RUDE and inappropriate.
If you can't see that, then your thinking and reasoning must be warped.
And it is not RUDE and inappropriate to
say my thinking and reasoning are warped because it is different than yours?
If you cannot recognize inappropriate experience...
in a statesman perhaps you should not be commenting either? I love how Dems...who laud individual freedoms...want to curtail everyone else's who don't agree with them.
This is inappropriate for a magazine cover
This should go in the National Enquire, Star or something. Sure he's in good physical shape, but whether you think he is nice looking or not is all a matter of opinion. My MIL thought Bill Clinton was "the bees knees" saying "I wouldn't kick him out of my bed, or he can park his shoes under my bed. I felt like throwing up every time I saw him. But, pics of shirtless leaders should should stay in the tabloids. he is supposed to be a leader. This goes to show more and more that he is not. As someone said he's acting like a "Hollywood wannabe". This is not the actions of someone who is supposed to be a stateman, the leader of a country. If you're going to put the pic of a country's leader on the front cover of a magazine they should be properly attired. Could be one of the reasons why most don't refer to him as President Obama, but rather as Mr. Obama.
inappropriate racial remarks
I agree Terri - that remark was extremely unappropriate and does not belong here, and unfortunately such a remark can be attributed to ignorance and hatred - which DEFINITELY DOES NOT BELONG HERE.
She was in state politics at the time, not national politics......
how much foreign policy experience did Bill have when he went to the presidency having only been a governor? The same as Sarah Palin. Because he was concentrating on his job...the state of Arkansas (and Paula Jones and what was that stripper's name?). Sarah Palin was concentrating on the state of Alaska.

Good grief. lol. Why don't you poll all the governors in all the states in the union and ask them how much they think about foreign policy?
And in a related story...

U.S., Google Set to Face Off in Court

By MICHAEL LIEDTKE, AP Business WriterTue Mar 14, 8:16 AM ET

The Bush administration will renew its effort to find out what people have been looking for on Google Inc.'s Internet-leading search engine, continuing a legal showdown over how much of the Web's vast databases should be shared with the government.

Lawyers for the Justice Department and Google are expected to elaborate on their opposing views in a San Jose hearing scheduled Tuesday before U.S. District Court Judge James Ware.

It will mark the first time the Justice Department and Google have sparred in court since the government subpoenaed the Mountain-View, Calif.-based company last summer in an effort to obtain a long list of search requests and Web site addresses.

The government believes the requested information will help bolster its arguments in another case in Pennsylvania, where the Bush administration hopes to revive a law designed to make it more difficult for children to see online pornography.

Google has refused to cooperate, maintaining that the government's demand threatens its users' privacy as well as its own closely guarded trade secrets.

The Justice Department has downplayed Google's concerns, arguing it doesn't want any personal information nor any data that would undermine the company's thriving business.

The case has focused attention on just how much personal information is stored by popular Web sites like Google — and the potential for that data to attract the interest of the government and other parties.

Although the Justice Department says it doesn't want any personal information now, a victory over Google in the case would likely encourage far more invasive requests in the future, said University of Connecticut law professor Paul Schiff Berman, who specializes in Internet law.

The erosion of privacy tends to happen incrementally, Berman said. While no one intrusion may seem that big, over the course of the next decade or two, you might end up in a place as a society where you never thought you would be.

Google seized on the case to underscore its commitment to privacy rights and differentiate itself from the Internet's other major search engines — Yahoo Inc. (Nasdaq:YHOO - news), Microsoft Corp.'s MSN and Time Warner Inc.'s America Online. All three say they complied with the Justice Department's request without revealing their users' personal information.

Cooperating with the government is a slippery slope and it's a path we shouldn't go down, Google co-founder Sergey Brin told industry analysts earlier this month.

Even as it defies the Bush administration, Google recently bowed to the demands of China's Communist government by agreeing to censor its search results in that country so it would have better access to the world's fastest growing Internet market. Google's China capitulation has been harshly criticized by some of the same people cheering the company's resistance to the Justice Department subpoena.

The Justice Department initially demanded a month of search requests from Google, but subsequently decided a week's worth of requests would be enough. In its legal briefs, the Justice Department has indicated it might be willing to narrow its request even further.

Ultimately, the government plans to select a random sample of 1,000 search requests previously made at Google and re-enter them in the search engine, according to a sworn declaration by Philip Stark, a statistics professor at the University of California, Berkeley who is helping the Justice Department in the case.

The government believes the test will show how easily it is to get around the filtering software that's supposed to prevent children from seeing sexually explicit material on the Web.

Is someone in this thread related to Senator

Is that his nick name for McCain supporters?  Hey how about McCain sell a few of those houses and give it to the financial companies????  How about the rich do something for a change????  How about that????

This makes me sick, all of it!  We need to be addressed by these candidates and not set aside until oil companies and rich folks figure out what happened!!!!  We are looking at who is going to be our next President and all Bush cares about are his pockets being lined?  Poor thing; did he invest in the wrong stock???

I must be really whacked, but I feel this candidacy is waaaaay more important than IGA, IGM, Wash Mut, Bank of America, Lehman, Looman, Dooman, or dooofus, whatever!!!!!  These lenders loaned the money to people who they knew couldn't pay it back and now it has come back to bite them and now its the rest of us having to bail them out.  No sympathy here!  I stayed within my budget; so sorry others did not!!!!!!!!  These candidates are going to run this country.  I think Obama is right; let's get it on with the debates....   JMO...

And he's related to Charles Keating!

I think not. both related to redistribution of wealth...nm

Oh, c'mon... the low crime was not only related to - s/msg
the HUGE police/secret service presence that was obviously there, but mainly to the mood. It's the first good news that everyday people in the US have had in a long, long time. It was just one day out of many, where people enjoyed the moment, the hope, the inauguration itself, the promise of the new administration, and a feel-good moment. We all know the glow won't last forever, but why not bask in it and enjoy a great moment in history. Even if you voted for the other candidate, you still have to admit that it was a truly great day for African Americans and ALL Americans to see democracy work right for a change, instead of being fixed and rigged. It was truly a magical day that many in this country, Repub or Dem, will remember for a lifetime.
LOL. *Liberal Religion* = ANY religion that isn't YOURS.

You don't want EQUALITY in religion.  You want yours to be SUPERIOR to all others.  You want to force your narrow and specific religious beliefs down the throats of every single American.  You can't get them into your religion willingly so you'll FORCE them to fall in step with you via government if you have to.

You couldn't stop abortion by killing abortion doctors, so now you'll do it through the Supreme Court.  And your God on earth just happens to be a president who wants the same things that you do, and so he's willing to throw the Constitution out the window (in violation of his Presidential oath) in order to replace it, not just with the Christian Bible, but with his own personal clone who will legislate her own narrow evangelical Christian views that don't even agree with the less radical, quieter forms of the Christian religion.

Government, schools and universities don't fall into the same categories.

There already ARE religous schools and universities.  Isn't THAT enough for you?

And what about all those many, MANY buildings with crosses and other religious symbols on them throughout this nation where people of like-minded beliefs congregate to worship the God of their CHOICE?  I believe they're called CHURCHES.  Isn't THAT enough for you, either?

Nope.  You're not going to be happy until you can be *superior.*

The sad fact is that in a country with freedom of religion, you never WILL BE, whether you like it or not. You can put 9 THOUSAND justices on the Supreme Court, you still won't be SUPERIOR, and I believe God, who is all knowing, knows that as well!

Because the Muslim religion is the only religion that says.....
Convert or die.
Our economy is related to world economics
which IS part of foreign policy.  Geez, can't get your head around that?
You related to Michael Moore? You twist

And perhaps in a related story: Enron Witness Found Dead In Park
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/5173228.stm

Enron witness found dead in park
A body found in north-east London has been identified as that of a banker who was questioned by the FBI about the Enron fraud case.

Police said they were treating the death in Chingford of Neil Coulbeck, who worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland until 2004, as unexplained.

He had been interviewed by the FBI as a potential witness.

Three ex-workers of RBS subsidiary NatWest are being extradited to the US on Thursday to face fraud charges.

The extradition has sparked a political row, with opposition parties and human rights groups claiming the treaty under which they are being sent to the US is one-sided as the Americans are yet to ratify it.

'Highly regarded'

Prime Minister Tony Blair has rejected calls to renegotiate the extradition terms.

Mr Coulbeck's body was found in a park near Newgate Street, Chingford, on Tuesday.

Mr Coulbeck's wife had reported him missing last Thursday. Police have yet to formally identify the body, which was removed from the parkland on Wednesday afternoon.

One day when this is all over I'm going to be coming home to my wife and children and some poor guy is not
David Bermingham
Former NatWest banker

Mr Coulbeck had worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland until 2004, most recently as head of group treasury, the bank confirmed.

Neil was highly regarded by his colleagues here in RBS and was a respected, capable and hard working member of our senior management team.

The fraud case centres on a NatWest transaction under which it sold off part of its Enron unit.

RBS said: There is no evidence that Mr Coulbeck was involved in the approval of the transaction under investigation.

RBS has co-operated fully with all the appropriate authorities and made them fully aware of all the relevant facts in our possession.

The FBI said it would not comment while the case was ongoing.

'Appalling'

One of the so-called NatWest three, David Bermingham, said he had been knocked sideways by the news of Mr Coulbeck's death.

It is awful, appalling. One day when this is all over I'm going to be coming home to my wife and children and some poor guy is not and my heart goes out to his wife and family, he said.

He described Mr Coulbeck as a superstar, a thoroughly decent, honest professional guy and a very experienced banker.

Mr Coulbeck was among NatWest staff who made witness statements about the extradition, Mr Bermingham, of Goring, Berkshire, said.

Neil's statement was no more than a page and a half saying who he was and his role, he said.

Fellow accused Giles Darby, speaking from his home in Lower Wraxall, Somerset, said he was absolutely shocked by the death.

It's an utter tragedy. I'm struggling to take it in, really.

Of course, my thoughts are now with Neil's family and friends.

In 2002, US prosecutors issued arrest warrants for the three men, accusing them of conspiring to defraud their employers and investors in energy giant Enron, which had collapsed a year earlier.

It is alleged that the three British bankers - Mr Bermingham, Gary Mulgrew and Mr Darby - advised their employer Greenwich NatWest to sell off its stake in an Enron unit at well below its market value.

MPs' protest

They then left the bank and purchased a $250,000 (£135,000) stake in the unit - which they sold on at a much higher price, making a profit of $7.3m (£3.9m).

They deny any wrongdoing.

Their extradition was debated by MPs in an emergency session of Commons on Wednesday.

After a three-hour debate they voted by a majority of 242 to adjourn the Commons early in symbolic protest at the government's extradition arrangements.

On Tuesday, peers had voted in favour of suspending extradition agreements with the US until the UK-US treated had been ratified there.

The whole country would crash and burn. Do you know how many jobs in Michigan alone are auto related
Michigan might as well hang a sign on the door saying last one out, turn out the lights. But then if Obama has his way, we won't have any electricity either because the coal companies will be bankrupted too. Domino effect in my opinion.
So you and your buds bash us on *your* board and suddenly, once you reach this board,

some respect?

You publicly post on the other board that you *try not to visit the bog of eternal stench.*

Well, doesn't look like you are trying all that hard. Or is that another example of Conservative honesty, like your buddy on the other board lies 3 times before suddenly deciding to be *up front* (in her own words) about the whole bogus line of crap she was spouting.

You and your 2 friends don't respect anyone unless they're a member of your little club, think exactly as you think, belong to the same political party as you belong, and believe in the very same little narrow SUBsection of one particular religion.

That's what I interpret from YOUR WRITTEN WORDS.  Your posts don't show respect.  They only show twisted *facts*, ignorance, anger and hatred.

You can't be *respectful* on your own board but suddenly, when you come here - HERE - the place YOU call *the bog of eternal stench* you suddenly discover some respectability during your mouse click from there to here?

Please.  Some of us aren't as stupid as you think we are.

You're becoming quite a bore.  You and your friends stated you don't want us on your board, but you're not happy unless you're picking a fight.  You and your *gang* told us to leave and not to post on *your* board.  Maybe that should work both ways.

Out of ALL the problems with radical Conservatives, maybe the most annoying thing is that you don't believe in equality at all.  You believe in SUPERIORITY.  Somewhere along the line, someone made you think you were special and above everyone else.  Sheesh!  You're not happy unless you're dictating to everyone else in the country what they're allowed to do in their own personal lives regarding life, death, science, etc. You even think YOUR GOD IS BETTER than everyone else's.

You want to make the rules, censor people and tell them which boards they can and cannot post on, but YOU want to invade them all and spew your ignorance and hatred.

In my heart, I believe there are sincere, honest, intelligent Conservatives out there who are capable of a sensible debate.  I've seen them.  (I hope you don't chase them away, too.)  But and your crew don't fall in that category, and this will be the last of your inane posts I will subject myself to.

Talk about stench. Just read your very own posts.

Can we bring the board back to the true reason for the board

Can we get the political board back to the true purpose of this board – to share opinions of why we like our candidate.  Not bash and cut down others because they don’t agree with you.

I stayed away from this board for the past couple days because anyone who had anything positive to say about Sarah Palin got slammed, bashed, kicked down, etc.  After awhile I found it all too draining, and was not seeing any reason to come.  Yes, I did see some of it towards people who favored Barack Obama, but if you read the posts again it is mostly towards anyone who favored Sarah Palin/John McCain.

I thought the political board was for posting information regarding politics and candidates.  What I have seen for the past few days is that it has been an attack board.  Especially if you have anything positive you want to share about Sarah Palin.  You say something good about her and you get attacked, you answer back, and you get attacked more, and then when you get mad and pretty much say stop attacking me, they come back with this “Geez, I’m allowed to have an opinion”.

Another thing I am tired of seeing is the slanderous, hate filled, really off the wall comments about Sarah Palin.  The latest was something about her daughter actually had her baby.  Talk about just bizarre comments.  I thought what’s next, she’s an alien from another planet?  The more I kept reading the more the comments were getting just really weird and bizarre.  Of course nobody ever having any proof of any of these allegations.  I then came to realize that the posters were just trying to get a fight going.

I also saw posts that had nothing to do with politics but attacking a poster named Sam.  Again, probably trying to get another fight going for no good reason and on things that have nothing to do whatsoever with politics.  I’ve read “Sam is like an annoying nat that you sway away”, “Sam, please let me know where you work” or “she must have her quota” or “sam is to the politics board as oracle is to the”  This childish rhetoric is getting old.  I’m not defending sam she is a big girl and I can see by her posts she can take care of herself, but my point is that this has nothing to do with politics.  If you want a fight maybe you could request that the administrator create a separate “fight and degrade” section.

I’ve read the administrators post a couple different times called Beware of Flaming.  She/he said as long as we realize that not everyone is going to agree we shouldn’t wear our feelings on our sleeves and a little more oversight on here would be good.  Let people express his or her opinion and move on.  If you don’t like someone just ignore that person. “It’s not rocket science, you know” (I liked that statement)

I consider posting on this board a privilege and not a right.  If you don’t agree with something and you post that you don’t agree and state the facts why (and are civilized about it) that’s one thing, but when you bash and degrade others without showing proof and just want to start fights and belittle others it just seems a bit juvenile to me.

I come to the politics board to hear ideas and stuff (facts) about the candidates.  That is how I’m learning about each one, but I don’t want to read people attack other posters for no good reason.  I'd like to hear about Obama/Biden & McCain/Palin, but I want to hear facts.

If you like to fight so much why don’t you pick on people that you can fight to face to face.

Your on the wrong board - you need to preach on the faith board
You just delivered a sermon (or quote). Either way it doesn't belong here. What does this have to do with politics. The democrat and republican party did not start up until after the 1800s. Socialism also wasn't created until the 1800s.

To me your post describes the way humans should treat other humans. This has nothing to do with politics - imho.

Religion

Religion - ?riduculous?

I will tell you what is more riduculous - those who truly believe that there IS NO GOD (wonder how in the he## you got here in the first place)...scary..

In regards to religion
It was Barrack Obama who quoted scripture during his speech at that dinner they had last week.  I'm so sick and tired of hearing people whine and complain because Sarah Palin is a believer.  Well....according to Barrack Obama....so is he!  Palin prayed for our country and people freaked out.  Obama's church preaches about him from the pulpit gaining control in a dominant white world and how they are oppressed by whitey, etc.....that should be more concerning than whether or not Sarah Palin prayed for our country especially since Obama attended that church full of hate for 20 YEARS!!!  Sheesh.
