Wanting to see W and his party bite the dust

Posted By: is evidently a vision that at least....sm on 2008-11-02

half (and probably more like 60%) of Americans seem to share. By your (il-)logic, that makes them all jihadists? At least 100,000 Iraqi civilians have died behind W's war of lies. We are making air strikes into 2 other soverign nations in the midst of a tanking republican presidential campaign. Ever hear of a war of attrition...the kind that wears down a nation from the inside because of the economic drain it places on its population? From where I sit, W played right into the hands the terrorist dealt. Continuation of such saber-rattling imperialism makes terrorist predictions a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Bombing countries into democracy, illegal occupations, kangaroo trials and lynching of leaders who do not bend to US will which fail to follow their OWN rule of law, military presence in defiance of overwhelming popular mandates that seek to take back control of their own country, flagrant disregard for human rights, clandestine interrogations, torture and humiliation of POWs not afforded the benefit of a trial, selective stateside vote suppression that overwhelming favors the party that is on its way out and the litany of other such violations of our historic basic principles make a MOCKERY of our own claims to be the greatest democracy on the face of the earth.

Live by example. It's simple. If we are not able to live up to and be accountable for our own basic tenants, we will self-destruct with or without any help from FUTURE leaders.

Gov. Sanford --- he just took off to write something ---- no, he went hiking ---- no, he went to Atlanta --- no, he went for a more exotic trip to S. America --- no, he went to see his mistress......

Yet another "family values" senator apologizing for an affair.

8 or 9 of them have bitten the dust in Sacramento alone.

Me too! Shake the dust, hasta la vista, see ya later...
...at least as far as the majority of the troops go. I don't think we've ever really left anywhere that we've militarily installed ourselves before, and we still have work to do to put right as much of the damage as we can, so we'll probably have a presence there for years yet, but I agree it's time for most of the troops to come home.

Wonder how much useful information we really got out of the thousands and thousands we tortured? Yet that guy said he got the best information by establishing a rapport with the detainees, that all the interrogators did.
Here we go again....another campaign promise bites the dust...

Obama Not Closing Door on Possible Health Tax

Referring to proposals to tax workers who get expensive insurance policies, Obama, who campaigned against the tax last year, said, "I don't want to prejudge what they're doing."

The unions are going to flip over that one...taxing of benefits.  Benefits are the backbones of unions and their power over their members.  Has it finally sunk in people...you cannot believe a word this man says.  He lies as easily as the rest of us breathe.  And the amazing thing is....it works for him.  Blinded by the obamalight.  lol.

I'll bite, how many?

Bite Your Tongue !!!!!
He has been my governor for 8 loooooooong years. He is smarter and more articulate than W but he is the definition of ruthless.
Okay, I'll bite

Why not be just plain old everyday American?  I'm curious how you know the human race originated in Africa?  Some might disagree with you.  Me?  I don't know, don't care either since I wasn't there.

As for me, I call myself an American, an American-Mutt if you prefer.  As for race........I'm Caucasian....no better or worse than you African-Americans or Negros.  Technically I guess I'm Irish-German-Cherokee Indian-American.  I've never seen Ireland or Germany but I frequent the Cherokee Nation..........particularly their casinos.LOL

Sorry...this fish won't bite!
:p
Okay, I'll bite
Do you have any information on this program where everyone can attend a university for free? Where does the money come from. I am not being argumentative, just curious.
but i dont even bite!
i promise
No, curious as in wanting to know...
and it is obvious what you are "compelled" to do.
Not as scary as someone wanting to...
figure out "which factions are involved" before acting (when asked about AL Qaeda).

And I am sure Obama can emphathize with the statement "clumsy word choices" this morning.
That's right. I'm funny that way, wanting to keep
It's called logical thinking. Try it sometime - you'll like it!
You deduced a lot from a 4-second sound bite!

I'm sure your opinions are not soley based on that one sound bite, and the assertion that shoulder rubbing is *groping.*

I'll tell ya what's pathetic it's the fact that the liberals think that Middle East situation disintegrated during the Bush administration.  The Middle East has been unstable for years, eons in fact.

This is ridiculous but I'll bite

You state that an opinion is not bashing.

I think you are mentally ill.  That is my opinion.

I think you and your friends are playground bullies with the maturity of my 5-year-old.  That is my opinion.

I think the far-right Republican party has an agenda which will destroy this country.  That is my opinion.

Hey, that's not bashing right?  Just an opinion, right?

End of story.  You guys don't play fair and what's more, you are truly nasty people.  Just an opinion!!!!

Okay, I'll bite. What Republicans? sm
Read it word for word and didn't see the word Republican one time.
I love this sound bite

My husband had me listen to it.  It's a riot. (It's political that's why it's here).

okay - Kaydie - I bite - what was your post?
I am white - but I have a black husband, 4 biracial stepchildren, 2 biracial grandchildren, 2 black brother-in-laws, and 4 biracial nieces and nephews. So I am definitely not racist, but sometimes I say things that get taken that way.

I am an Obama supporter at this point, but it is most definitely not because he is a black man. I was really sitting on the fence to be honest until McCain picked Palin - and I am sorry, but I just cannot see her in charge of this country and anything good coming out of that...
Karma will always comes back and bite you in the behind.

People like me? I'm sorry but what does probite mean? Bite a pro? really ? nm
nm
Dear Righties: Bite me.

My opinion - Not wanting to debate -- SM
Honestly, I believe that two things are going on here:

1) The American people do not have the absolute truth -- neither from the media nor from any government branch nor the President, any committee, etc. The whole truth about any issue has never been put out there.

2) MOST, not all, but MOST people do no really want truth. For people to have truth, they have to be responsible for accepting it (in which USUALLY - not always - is in conflict with how they are currently living and they just don't want the conscience about their own actions) or the responsibility for acting on it. People do not want to have to DO anything; they want others to do it for them. People do not want to have to make changes in their life; they want others to make those changes. People do not want to have ownership of where they could better be involved with their own community, government, country - they want others to do that.

Without the truth and the willingness to accept it for whatever it is, the American people will never have a stable ground to make the next progressive step.

I would say the next issue at hand would be that people simply have different priorities. I'm not referring to the choices we are actually making in our lives, but in what we are saying we want our government to provide, obtain, offer, and protect for us. I see many people SAYING they want the government to "do something" about an issue; however, these very people do not make that choice for themselves personally. Example: I know MANY people who want "the government" to "do something" about the violence and sex on TV, music, etc. However, those same people attend R-rated movies and buy them at Wal-Mart and bring them into their homes, and think some of the roughest or raciest shows are fabulous. It's a contradiction. They do not want to be personally responsible, but they want to demand that others and the government make provisions.

This is just one example of many where I see a contradiction in what we SAY we want and what we are willing to actually be self-responsible for.
Wanting the whole truth is fanatical?
nm
Since when did wanting to see ALL Americans prosper
Are you telling me that it is a an either/or situation? In other words, the American dream is only available to those who are willing to setp over their fellow citizens to grab it? If that's the case, sign me up for a little socialism. Sheesh.
Pathetic is not wanting to know the truth
FOS back at you - whatever it means. I'm sure it's not nice.
Can someone tell me why everyone says Obama is wanting the elderly to die?

I keep reading posts about letting elderly people die.  I did not get to listen to the speech last night, so I do not know what the subject matter was concerning this point and would like to know.

Thanks!

I wish I could attach a sound bite of applause
Thank you so much. Nothing more than an ignor@ant person that does not have the facts correct.

Poster sounds like a bitter (r)epublican upset at the (d)emocrats pick.
OK, I'll bite. What insurance companies and when?
Insurance companies have ALWAYS been a for profit idea. So they need to collect premiums from people who ARE NOT sick to cover the thousands they pay out for someone else who IS sick. So how is this going to work? Like I said, if this becomes a reality, I for one am going to immediately drop my coverage until such time as I need it. Unless their other healthy customers are stupid, they are going to do the same. So then the only people who will be paying insurance premiums are the ones who are also using their policies to fund their heart transplants, chemotherapy, whatever. Take a guess what their premiums are going to be.

Wanting truth and accountability = hatred?sm
Dissent, not loyalty to the almighty State is patriotic.
Ron Paul supporter? Not wanting to fight, just asking.

Maybe, but with most terrorists wanting to see Barack elected, that
Wonder why they want him elected so much?
I do disagree about not wanting to give to those who CAN'T work. sm

My sister had brain damage from birth and has never been able to keep a job.  She is able to live on her own, but she barely survives. Our mother, who is retired, took a part-time job to continue to take care of my sister.  What happens when my mother can't do that anymore or dies?  I guess it will be my turn to take care of my sister.  What about people who don't have anyone to do that for them? Do you realize the meager amounts people are given right now barely enable them to survive? You (poster below complaining about giving to those who can't/won't/don't work) would not be able to survive.  You obviously have no idea what hunger feels like or what it is like to go to bed at night as a child with no dinner, no snack, and hope for breakfast the next morning.  I will most certainly give to those who can't work.

another liberal wanting money...waaaa....nm

Personally, lately....I've been wanting to smack....sm
my husband up the side of the head.

He's been saying for weeks that now's the time to buy, and that if we had extra money in our accounts, he'd do it....just this morning, he said he's buy tons of Citigroup, GM, and Ford, as if you do, and hold onto it long enough, you could make a killing.

Needless to say, though....we don't have enough to do this at the moment....he refuses to buy on margin, so we'll just sit here and watch the stock markets.

Now IS the time to buy, though, that's very, very true......

sound bite from barbara bush's remarks

Here is the sound bite from Barbara Bush (it actually was on The Drudge Report!)

Here's the clip. Let them try and spin it however they want. Her callous words cannot be denied. These are heartless group of elitists:

I am an independent....neither party is "my" party.
THis election cycle I believe the best man is a Republican. Do your research. John McCain warned about this in 2005, named Fannie and freddie by name, co-sponsored legislation to control them. Blocked by Democrats, led by Chris Dodd..same guy now trying to fix what he and the Dems broke. Chris Dodd, #1 on contributions list from fannie/freddie, followed closely by #2, your shining knight Mr. Obama. The chickens have come home to roost all right...or should I say the donkeys. :)
Not honoring her son by wanting answers, and speaking what she knows he felt.sm
He joined the army in 2002 before the Iraqi war began, so it's plenty possible he didn't agree with the Iraqi war.

No logical thinking person would have thought that Bush would focus his attention after 9-11 on Iraq.
Just had a friend last night wanting to use my extra bedroom -
NO WAY - would rather take on 10 extra jobs than let somebody else stay in my house with me again....

have tried it and tried it and it never works...
People wanting less gov't interference in their lives (CONSERVATIVES) are being labeled......sm
Those who attend the Tea Parties are being labeled "right wing extremists." As an organizer of a Tea Party in my town, I am going to wear that label with pride. Below is the quote from the Dept. of Homeland Security:

On the eve of the nationwide tax day Tea Parties, Barack Obama's DHS has issued a "rightwing" threat assessment to warn of the "current economic and political climate fueling resurgence in radicalization and recruitment" for "rightwing extremism." Who are these extremists? According to the report, adherants are rimarily "hate-oriented" or "antigovernment" but also include "individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration."

Personally, I think it is more than quite a coincidence that Obama's DHS is warning of the "rightwing" threat on the eve of the Tea Parties! This is a blatant attempt to taint the efforts of those who are standing for the patriotic, idea-based resistance.

Anything or anyone who does not toe the Obamarama line or has not drunk the kook-aid, is automatically considered a "right wing extremist."

There is a 10 page document put out by an office which is a branch of the Dept Homeland Security called "The Extremism and Radicalization Branch, Homeland Environment Threat Analysis Division. Coordinated with the FBI.

There are 4 words that should make you very nervous....COORDINATED WITH THE FBI. Below is the link to download or read the PDF file.

Uh oh. Looks like the party's over.
Sharpen up those cat claws.
What about the other party?

me and my party?
All I asked was if this was more divisive. I said nothing about any party or who I would prefer to see win. I said nothing hateful or vicious. Give it a rest, will ya?
Pub party?
Cool!  Can I pick the pub, and will you bring 'nother fattie for the parking lot?
I am not of the pub party.

There are a lot of things to fault Obama for already.  Just because you are too blind to see it just shows that you are so into democratic rhetoric that you can't tell the difference between the truth and a lie.

I truly feel sorry for people who are so caught up in the party lines (and this goes for both dems and pubs) that they refuse to see politicians for who they truly are.

Barrack Obama is a liar and he is so obvious about his lying it is amazing that you people can't even see it when it is RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE!!!

new party
I am so disgusted with all these folks in office, I am ready to start my own party. I think I will call it the Repo Party with the main objective being to take our country back.  And we will be voting on daylight savings time, just for starters.
party time..
You party for your reasons, I party for me..Fortunately, right now democrats and the like minded have many things to party for..YEEHHAAWW!!  Bye bye Scooter, bye bye Rove, bye bye incompetent Bush, LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Our party definitely needs to step up. sm
It's come to the point that I don't even know what our party values anymore. Just a bunch of different groups trying to elevate their cause with no clear focus. What is our agenda? I'm listening, but our elected officials are not talking.

Is Senator Kennedy the last Dem standing? At least he and Murtha speak their minds and challenge this administration. And I'm dog tired of hearing what the republicans got wrong. Though I think they have a nice stack of issues, I want to hear what our party is going to do to fix the Iraqi situation, what would they do in Louisiana and Missisippi differently if they had the ball in their court and what are they willing to fight for to effect change? What will they do to make America safer from domestic and foreign terrorists? Offer up some solutions. Maybe they have, but I haven't heard anything.

Hillary, though I'm still a fan of hers, seems to ride whichever wave she's on. Howard Dean is a live wire who says the first thing that floats to his brain, off the wall. He does not have the carisma to lead the party to victory IMHO.

As far as the republicans, I'm tired of hearing about gay marriages and abortions. I do not think these are America's main issues, not even close. I want to hear something other than rhetoric about how good Iraqi is doing too.

And I was just having a conversation earlier this week with a friend of mine who agrees with me that we have seen MORE gays and lesbians emerge since Bush took office. And before you get it wrong conservatives, I'm not saying he is creating them. It may be that the gays are rebelling and being more blatant with it to spite the anti-gay politicians, and/or all of the attention brought to gay marriage and gay this and that have only lured more young people into this culture as a reverse effect. I think the latter is more likely because rewind back to 2000, it was less likely you would see woman/woman, man/man hand in hand in the supermarket. Now, it's just as normal as man/woman and I'm in the bible belt, Alabama.

I agree with the poster who asked the question *where was THIS Al Gore 8 years ago?* Maybe, they'll wise up and make him head of the DNC. Say, *Thanks Dr. Dean for your services but we won't be needing them anymore.*

Either way, this administration NEEDS more disenting voices with SOLUTIONS-this is key-not just rhetoric because on major issues they have been allowed to runamuck basically uncontested for the last five years.

If we keep it up at this rate though I agree it's bad news for America.
*We tend to believe our party*...sm
Re-reading my postI can see how I misspoke. What I was trying to get across, and my post was not directed at you BTW, was that psychologically people tend to put more trust in and defend the party they support by default. Whether you are a registered republican or not, you support the republican party, and I glean that from your statement *I have not seen a Democrat I could vote for in good conscious.* And whether you are aware of it or not, you defend that party tooth and nails on here, and there is nothing wrong with that if they follow your belief systems.

Good for you for criticizing Foley, and any other person who is inappropriate with the pages. I have said here before I do not know why Studds didn't stepdown and more importantly why he was reelected. I'm against his having a relationship with a page as much as I am Foley.

As to Juanita, I understand you are personally connected with her in some way, so you will obviously be more sensitive to her situation than I will. I am looking at the big picture. Since she did not come forward in 1978, the statue of limitations gone, all she can do is tell her story, and Clinton has a story. Like I said her story is believable. She has proven genuine and not making claims out of spite or for money. I think it was Brunson who posted ladies that Clinton was supposed to have either raped or sexually harrassed earlier this year. Out of them all, Juanita was the only one I believe has substance.

I disagree with you again; when it was brought up that conservative presidents were accused of rape below, it was rebutted with *that was only one time...but..but..but..* That's rationalizing and minimizing.

I know your mind is made up about Vincent Foster, but this is what's on snopes.com. What I find interesting is the *suicide note.*

White House deputy counsel Vince Foster committed suicide on the night of 20 July 1993 by shooting himself once in the head, a day after he contacted his doctor about his depression. A note in the form of a draft resignation letter was found in the bottom of his briefcase a week after his death. (Note that this letter was not, as is often claimed, a suicide note. It was Foster's outline for a letter of resignation.) Foster cited negative Wall Street Journal editorials about him. He was also upset about the much-criticized role of the counsel's office in the controversial firing of seven White House travel office workers.

On 10 October 1997, special prosecutor Kenneth Starr released his report on the investigation into Foster's death, the third such investigation (after ones conducted by the coroner and Starr's predecessor, Robert B. Fiske) of the matter. The 114-page summary of a three-year investigation concluded that Foster shot himself with the pistol discovered in his right hand. There was no sign of a struggle, nor any evidence he'd been drugged or intoxicated or that his body had been moved.

If Foster had been murdered or if unanswered questions about his death remained, Starr would have been the last person to want to conclude the investigation prematurely. Or are we to believe Starr is part of the cover up, too? And if we buy into the conspiracy theory, what are we expected to believe? That a group of professional killers capable of carrying out dozens of murders all over the world shot Vince Foster, then clumsily dumped him in a park (after he had bled out), planted a gun he didn't own in his hand (without bothering to press his fingerprints onto it), amateurishly forged a suicide note (in several different handwritings), and then seriously expected the nation would believe it was suicide? Claims too crazy to believe are never discounted when they're needed to help establish a conspiracy, of course.

Oh, and did you check out the Bush body count??

Individuals, maybe. As for the party,
nm
Well, at least there are members in that party...
who will buck the party and put the people first. The Dems don't, won't, and that pretty much solidifies why I would not vote for a Dem...EVER again.
