It is sad when you can make more money cleaning toilets

not that there is anything wrong with janitorial, after all someone has to do it, but with your MT skills you could get into admin work, legal transcription (its a matter of getting to learn the pleading/practice forms & terms, but for an MT it isn't too hard to make the transition).  You can also look for positions as coordinators, document specialists, other admin.  Craigslist and Indeed are good places to look.

I work for a medical device manufacturer in regulatory affairs.  It took me awhile to break back into admin, as no one really wanted to hire me after I had stayed home for so long.  The funny thing is they didn't take into account that I was WORKING at home!  I suggest a temporary service would be a good place to get your foot in the door, preferably working for a large corporation.  You will gain a lot of valuable skills.  Taking some Excel classes might be a good idea too, if you are not familiar with it.  Good luck & you will probably be a lot happier with better pay, decent hours, weekends off, benefits, paid holidays & interacting with people/making friends.

It's kind of a pain to drag yourself to and from work every day, but the great thing is you leave work at the office and don't feel like you are constantly working when you are home.  I do MT in my spare time for extra money, just to keep my skills up in the UNLIKELY event we will ever be needed/appreciated again!
