When I worked at TransTech, there was a doctor on one of the accounts sm

who stuttered.  At first, I was really frustrated, but then I also saw it from his side, how frustrating it must be to know what you want to say and then face that challenge.  I do not know about the physician you are referring to, but in the case I am referring to, I do not think the patient record suffered because of the doctor's stuttering.  I just kind of grimaced when I got him.  You would think that people like that, as well as the ESLs who are so challenged they can barely form a sentence, would hire a P.A./N.C. to do their dictating for them.  Go figure.

Sorry you have that to deal with.

With the KS ortho accounts, each doctor is assigned to an MT. sm
I have 3 doctors that I am responsible, some only have 1 if they are high volume. Easy system to use, great docs, great lead MT. Pay starts low at 0.08 but goes up after 90 days. There are no ESL on the ortho account I am on, which has around 40 doctors. The downside is the first week. The accounts are overwhelming with instructions at first, but once you have it all down, they are great!
I say fight it. I worked for a doctor who fired someone
because she continuously would dispense medical advice including stopping Coumadin and other potentially life-threatening mistakes, yet she qualified for unemployment. They stated the doctor would have to prove gross misconduct. If that wasn't considered misconduct, it must really have to be bad and not meeting production would also not qualify as misconduct. Appeal it, they will have the employer do a phone interview and have to prove their point. Good luck with that. I don't see how they have a leg to stand on but just stick up for yourself. At this point, you have nothing to lose but possibility something to gain. More people should fight back and call them on this supposed misconduct. They are bluffing. Call their bluff!!!
TransTech does and SOME of DTS in Tenn. accounts do. nm

Are all of TransTech's accounts out of work?
NM
When are the new Transtech accounts starting?

Transtech has new accounts coming soon

Transtech will be hiring for new accounts soon

Does Transtech have ER or Radiology accounts? TIA (nm)

Sounds like TransTech and it's NOT how the majority of accounts are. nm

Does anyone know what Transtech pays for its Escription accounts?
I'd be willing to work weekends if the price was right.  I've just seen too many Escription accounts pay too low, which to me, is 3 cpl and lower..One company actually offered 1.5 cpl. No thanks.
TransTech has 2 huge Editscript accounts
.
TransTech has 2 current Escription accounts

me too, I have worked for accounts sm
out of the Detroit area and if you think the ESLs aren't around, try doing those accounts! It is unbelievable and most of what they have is ESL, now and in the past, always has been and always will be in that area at least.
Info on GIMT and TransTech oncology accounts

Anyone out there familiar with the oncology accounts for  GIMT or TransTech  are advertising for?  Would like to know if there is enough work, platform they use, general pay range.  How flexible are they on scheduling?

Thanks.

Medquist or TransTech? Comparable offers from both. Who has the better accounts

better platform, reliable pay days, etc.

Thanks!

Yep, exactly -- TransTech lost accounts and I truly believe is in financial trouble right now !

That small overflow account acquired has not paid yet, and the HUGE hospital they lost is no longer paying them.

I really think TT is in lots of trouble right now money-wise.  Keeps changing payroll companies due to *floating* and not having the money for the payroll company, is my thoughts.

We had the best payroll company in the world -- but TT all of a sudden changed . . . and I mean ALL OF A SUDDEN, so much so that all our payroll information was WRONG, etc.  Horrible time with this new payroll company, but it was a FAST decision made on TT's part.  Probably had no choice except to change payroll companies.

TT is not stable as far as financial backup.  Just imagine after losing a HUGE hospital account how much less money was coming in this week and prior.  Those little overflow accounts just don't bring in a lot of monies.  Dictaphone controls how much money TT gets -- due to Dictaphone owning the platform and dividing up the work between Dictaphone's customers !

 times for TT now.

I've not worked on those accounts
x
Both and worked on 2 accounts and 2 platforms sm
but I couldn't get any more than 11,0001
I worked on 3 C-phone accounts.
Two of them were very involved, less than 50% ESL, but they were Meditech accounts.   Meditech is a horrible platform.  I posted more info above on your other post from today.
Has anybody worked for Transtech as an IC? nm
x
Transtech... worked for both and...sm
Transtech hands down is a much better company. I work on one of their oncology accounts. I think a couple of their hospital accounts are very ESL heavy, but they have great benefits and are good people to work with.
Has anyone worked at BOTH TransTech and
Assuming work is available, of course.  Whose got the best (least-slow) platform?
TransTech has no work; that is why; lost accounts; overhired significantly BAD nm

Does TT care?  No, they get their big paychecks no matter if the MT's do or not.

TransTech accounts are ALL very quickly going to VR and pay is half line rate

If you like VR and the pay cut, then TT will be a good fit for you.  If you are experienced and will let someone pay you less than you are worth, then go for it.

Other than accounts going to VR there and MT pay cut for editing VR reports, TT has been a good fit for me.  I am very disappointed in the recent VR pay cuts.

They are changing platforms and cutting our line rate in half as the accounts go live with VR.

Can I ask who you worked for previously. It may have been on one of the accounts or companies I
worked for..When I went to work for that one and ended up making $9 an hour, I was so disappointed because I figured since I was a high producer at my other job and made big money plus I had experience and needed no training on the platform I was sure I would be doing well. I am more convinced than ever that they fix the line counts. They have to or there would not be the huge difference. Of note also was that the low paying one was the easiest. The account was a walk in the park so I really thought I'd make a great living as the other job was a lot of ESL etc. Boy, was I in for a shock.
I have worked for them for 4 years. There are always new radiology accounts. sm
They have grown a lot since I started and radiology seems to be what they grow the most in. I know that this month alone, 3 different radiology accounts have started and from what I hear, all are pretty good.
Worked for both Webmedx and Transtech sm
Webmedx really has a nice benefits package and shift differential working third shift 2.00 an hour from 12 a to 6 a and 1.00 an hourfrom 6p to 12 a. the platform really is slow though, some have problems and some don't, depends on CPU processing speed and internet connection. I had 5 megabyte speed so did not notice much issues except when they were low on work. But in order to qualify for bonus you have to average 150 LPH for the payperiod.

Transtech has good bonuses, has different options for benefits, and pay up to 40.00 for you ISP depending on what you pay per month, has a QA bonus for reports less than 10% sent to QA, shift differential--- these are 0.0025 to 0.005 per line depending 2nd or 3rd shift. I think the platform is much faster. You are working with Word interface ExText. You can see 3 jobs at a time, Webmedx you can't.

Webmedx has a timeclock and Transtech has a timesheet but are more for lines per day and pay period then actual lines per hour. Transtech expects you to work your full shift though regardless if you reach your lines in half the time.

Hope that helps. I liked Webmedx benefits package, but I liked working with less pressure for lines produced per hour. I feel my reports have better quality that way.
MOST of TransTech's accounts are obtained through Dictaphone/Nuance -- not by any TT mgmt people

out seeking work for all the MT's that they have recently hired on.  That is not a good thing when Dictaphone has control of how much work TT gets, when we can have some work from them, etc.  They have other MTSO's who want work for their MT's, too, so Dictaphone/Nuance has to share with all MTSO's who have contracted with them to use their equipment; thus, doling out jobs as Dictaphone/Nuance sees fit for their good.

How do you know there is high turnover? The companies I have worked for get new accounts. sm
They hire because of having more work, not because their current MT's are leaving.

Some of the companies hire constantly because of turnover but most do because of growth.

The BS that MQ has done over the past few years has opened up a lot of new business for many good companies and it looks like that will continue for a while until CBay either runs it to the ground or converts all the accounts they possibly can.
TransTech is the best company I have ever worked for. I have been here two years
and can't say enough good about them. I know that they are owned by some former L&H people. They are adding new accounts like crazy and are always hiring.
I worked for TransTech briefly and it's not them. But I've never read that about
xx
I have worked for MQ, Spheris back when it was Edix, Transcend and OSI. TransTech is by far the bes
The pay is decent, probably not the highest in the business but not the lowest either. The benefits are good. Pay is always on time. Great bonuses. Great communication and most of all I really like the people and it makes me enjoy being an MT again.
I worked part-time for Webmedx and I work FT for TransTech. sm

My vote would be for TransTech, although Webmedx is not bad.  Since I was only part-time, I did not receive any benefits, but from what I recall, they did seem to have a nice benefit package.  My main complaint was that I just never could get my lines per hour up to where they have been at other companies.  Normally, I average around 300 lines per hour, but even with totally focusing and typing as fast as I could, I never could get past 250-260 lines per hour at Webmedx.  Their incentive pay is based on lines per hour that you type, not total lines per pay period, so it did make a difference in my pay.  I also did not like the fact that I had to use their computer.  I like using my own computer, and also like the flexibility of being able to load the program on my laptop so if I have to be away from home, I can still work if I need to.

I have seen negative posts about TT, but I have no complaints with them.  My line counts are fair.  The people in management are absolutely some of the most caring people I have ever met.  The work generally is plentiful, and I have a backup account.  The incentive tiers are easy to attain, and the benefits are pretty good, I think, and not outlandishly priced.

Obviously, not every company is a good fit for everyone.  I hope you find just exactly what is best for you -- good luck!

Does Transtech require one weekend day to be worked for part-timers? Thanks!
nm
Ok, thanks, also how do I look up a doctor
while already in a report on Meditech??

I know, I'm just starting today and am CLUELESS!

Sorry!
Is it possible to have the same doctor
20 times or more in a row?  I feel like I am purposely assigned reports and continue to get the same doctor.  This morning, I have typed 20 reports one after another on the same doctor. This cannot be an accident, right?  The company software is a nightmare and I only hope people on this board will not go to this company.  I will not mention the name, but the software starts with a D and it is very problematic, always break down, and flickers on your screen.   Thank goodness I had the good sense to accept two positions.  I will hold on until next week and bolt so fast, they will not even remember who I am.
Just be aware that not all Escription accounts pay the same. I worked for one company on Escription
struggling to maybe make $50 in 8-10 hours. I didnt know the difference as that was my first job on that platform and I just thought it was not a money maker. Then, I switched companies. I average $20-30 an hour and once I made $50 in an hour. I tried yet another company and I was lucky to make $9 an hour. The bottom line is that not all companies are alike, even though they use the Escription platform. What I have found is that goes according to how they set it up i.e. paying for footers, headers, spaces etc. Just dont be shocked if you dont make what you think you will. The companies know how to set it to where it benefits them and not you. As is the norm, not all companies are created equal out there regardless if they all use the same platform. That is what I am getting out.. Good luck.
Also doctor lists
They can be a nightmare
You are so right about going to the doctor direct!

You can do that and make great money, the only problem is, what to do when you need time off.  I've actually been the one to cover all these years (17 years experience) than be the one to ask for coverage.  Also, you must make yourself, I think, a little more available for phone calls, STAT requests, doctor getting a bug in his you know what!  Sometimes, it is easier to let a company do that for you.  No contact, means less headaches!  Like I said, I have done all of it, and I'm still providing for my children.  I would at home full-time now with a nice mix as an IC.  My husband is full-time, and the kids think it is great to have Mom at home.  Pros and cons with everything I guess.  It may be the region you live in as well.  There is a posting regarding gas prices, which is varying in all of the states, it seems.  Have a great day!

Maybe WL should see a doctor and have her records
s
I think it is nice to have your own doctor

That would work as an IC.  No set hours.  Pretty much know what you are dealing with.

That's the doctor's rules
They do the account the way the doctors want them done; I guess that's why they don't have a turn over of accounts so that we are constantly losing accounts and having to start over. They follow BOS unless it is stated in the instructions otherwise at the doctor's request.
depends on the doctor sm
Most are good, but you still have the inconsiderate ones who refuse to use the pause button. 4:30 report for 13 lines is a waste of your time. Can you have someone speak to the doctor? Or can you? If not, find another job. (I know, easier said than done.)
It might be that the hospital or the doctor who
buys the VR system does not pay the whole amount in 1 payment, but makes installments, namely by giving a percentage of the line rate, until they VR system is paid off.

Does this make sense?
LOL-I saw one of those at the eye doctor earlier
this week. The gal taking my information just turn 62 on the 12th. She said she still uses the electric and the docs would probably retire it with her. She said it was a great conversation piece. My MIL has an old carriage return. It has 2 keys that rise above the others. Haven't seen that in forever.
I work in a doctor's office. SM
I got a $600.00 bonus.
The doctor was a participating provider - sm
per the website given to us by TH. I would never choose an out of network physician if I could help it.
Obviously they were trying to unload a difficult doctor...
on you, and they got mad when you wouldn't take him/her. They were probably hiring mainly to find someone to do this lousy dictator.
...or when a nurse is dictating for doctor...

and he doesn't know how to pause dictation.  Last week I listened to four 30 minute dictations with only about 100 lines to show for it!  Finally the office taught him how to use the system!  Rookies ARGHHH!

I truly think that if every doctor or dictator had to spend
was forced to listen to themselves for a period of time...say an hour or two, I would almost bet the farm that a lot of mumblemouths, yawners, eaters, and people who dictate in the bathroom while they are flushing would change their habits radically. Or sending their dictation EXACTLY the way they say it...um...uh...uh...ummmm........hmmmm.........dead air....You know the ones.

No one will ever convince me differently. LOL. IN a perfect world maybe. in the MT world??? Not!!!
It also depends on age. I'm 60. I haven't been to doctor
