Try Pine Sol! I kid you not!
A friend of mine suggested it to me after I stupidly left a bunch of laundry in the washer and forgot about it until I smelled something funky. Oh what a gross smell! I rewashed the load about 4 times and everything still had that awful smell. I tried 1/4 cup of Pine Sol and IT HONESTLY WORKED! I now use it to wash anything that is especially grody and swear by it.
Sometimes white vinegar helps "get the funk out" of stuff as well, but I honestly don't know what ratio you'd use for a whole load of laundry. I've only used it straight up on my animal's things as a pre-wash.
Too bad he doesn't like bleach...man, nothing makes me feel better than crawling into a clean bed with freshly bleached sheets and pillow cases, or getting out of a hot shower and wrapping myself up in my huge towels that smell like bleach. Something about that smell makes me smile--makes me feel like I'm on vacation...almost.
How about a little Norfolk pine.
I did this for a nursing home patient and a friend and added little bows of yarn and put some little bells I bought at Michaels in bulk package, wrapped the pot in a scrap of burlap that I frayed and they turned out really neat. Will do more for others this year and had to keep one for myself. Looks nice on a coffee table, counter or desk.
My lab was diagnosed with an allergy to pine needles and had the same
symptoms you are describing. Now, I live in North Carolina where pine trees are as common as grits, so I thought the poor things was doomed!! My vet suggested a cortisone injection in the early part of the season before it got to really take off and then 2 tablets of Benadryl twice daily, which seems to have worked great for the past 6 years, but if I delay that darn shot and she starts that itching then I run into problems because not only is she itching from the allergy, but from the irritation caused from the scratching.

I'm awful when it comes to snacking. My absolute favorite that I always vow never to do again is homemade trail mix - M&M's, walnuts, golden raisins, mix in anyother goodies you like.

I have about a 11 yo Shih Tzu, he is a grumpy old man. He has quite a variety of noises - groans, little whines, shrill barks, etc. Very expressive. Now I am working at home again (past 2 months) after 6 years out and he is so happy to sit by side of my desk. But I am in the basement and he has a hard time with stairs (short little legs) so he whines at the top of the stairs, until someone is "watching him" before he begins to go down.

I have cousins that grew up there
The lakes down there are beautiful going from Chatta into Guntersville. I probably did not appreciate it much as a child but a few years ago took my father on trip there and was blown away by the scenery.

until I made a few moves down south a few years back and moved to Ohio a year ago. I am about 45 minutes now from my hometown in PA, but my hometown in PA is just 45 minutes away from Pittsburgh. We could be close enough to be neighbors!
We grew up going to the same church
until we were about 11 or so. He moved and I didn't see him again until my senior year of school when he moved back into our home town. He looked me up and we started dating. We got married when I graduated high school and we will have been married for 36 years in June of this year. I was 19 and he was 21.

Scrapple contains basically what you mentioned and it's pretty darn good. It's all good meat, but it's basically scraps, hence the name.

I used to work in a convenience store about 20 years ago and one time this guy walked in. He was a -regular-. Anyway, he walked right inside the door, looked down at his muddy boots and proceeded to knock the dried mud off right there in front of the cash register. It flew everywhere. Clumps all over the place. And then he just kept walking. I always wondered if he did that at home, too.

You must have posted while I was writing my message. I think its funny the strength in the different coffees. I uses a scoop (equal to 2 TBS) to every cup. I'm now reading your post and mine sounds like I would be drinking mud, but it's not really that strong and we like it.
I should try your idea with cleaning the pot though. We've had our pot for about 2 years and never cleaned it yet. Think it's overdue
I grew up in a suburb of Milwaukee, and
didn't move until I was 17, just in time for senior year of HS, thank you very much.
When I went back for my 20-year reunion, I was one of the very few who left. Most people, like 98%, were living in suburbs of Milwaukee still! Yet I, one of the least adventurous people ever born, was now living 1000 miles away, in the South. Unbelievable.

This comes from an older voice but I had a close friend in high school. I used to visit in her home and had no idea that this girl only owned 1 blouse. She told me years later how poor she was and she washed that 1 blouse out every night and wore to school the next day = this was in high school. I still have this friend to this day, 40 something years later and so glad I was not so superficial as to just like someone for what they had or did not have.

No kids here, but I grew up w/grandparents.
They actually lived in our childhood home with us. Our mother was a single parent trying to get off welfare back in the 60s...going to night school to become an LPN and rearin' the 5 of us during the day. I have no doubt her parents saved her tuckas by doing all they did for her (and us!) back then. I have nothing but incredibly fond memories and miss them all immensely.
There's something to be said for families that pull together like that when times are tough, or even not so tough. Some days I regret not having one of my own, but I'm just waaaay too selfish and I know I'd make a horrible parent. Plus, I have no social support at all and I would be 100% on my own...certainly not the ideal way to raise a kid or two.
Fantastic assets grandparents can be...so long as they're not criminals or anything.

tomatoes in 5 gallon buckets last year, but not upside down. This year, we have 50(!) tomato plants growing. Think DH went a little too far.
I like the other idea I saw about using garbage bags, too. I wonder how that went. We might try that with a couple plants; and I also like using the hanging planters. I have plenty of those left over from flowers.
The idea of putting basil in the top is also a good idea, but I'm wondering if the tomatoes growing upright after a while would shade out the basil. Do you know?

I consider it north just because it is not far from Ohio - just cross the bridge in Maysville and you're in Ohio, but technically it probably isn't north. . if your daughter didn't like Maysville, she wouldn't like Flemingsburg either - it is even smaller - my daughter prefers living in Florence - she thinks Flemingsburg is too small too. .

Easy! I grew up on quick tomato sauces.
It's very simple, and I do it without a recipe. I do my "light" sauce without meat in a very large pan, but you can do it in a medium to large pot.
I heat the pan over medium heat, I put several "glugs" of olive oil, probably a little less than a quarter cup. Toss in a clove of finely diced garlic (or more if you like), and about a half of a large onion finely diced. Saute for just a bit on medium heat to get everything softened and translucent, but not browned. Toss in tomatoes, either 4-6 cups of diced peeled and seeded fresh tomatoes, or one large can of crushed tomatoes. Add two or three leaves of chopped fresh basil, or about a tablespoon of dried basil. Let it all simmer for about 20 to 30 minutes (longer if using fresh tomatoes), and that's the very basic tomato sauce. I add salt to taste only at the end after it's reduced a bit. You can cook it longer if you like it thicker.
I vary it based on what how I'm using it. I sometimes add mushrooms or peppers, or a little hot pepper flakes to spice it up. If I'm using it with meat, I also add a little wine. Occasionally, the tomatoes might be just a little on the acid side, and then I'll throw in a pinch or two of sugar to cut that.
I don't use much sauce on my pasta or on meat, just a little bit to coat it and a bit more to top it to make it pretty. My grandmother and all of our Italian neighbors used these sauces pretty sparingly by American standards. I think in this country, we tend to really slather on the spaghetti sauce, so this recipe may not make as much as you want. If you want more, you can easily double or triple it.

I forget who did it, but it was one of the service organizations in town. The Lions Club did the hearing tests, somebody else did vision. They do it as a service to those families who either can't afford the exam or are just ignorant to the fact that it should be done. There's nothing invasive about it, it's a service to the community. I understand your kid has a special situation, but save your energy for something bigger.

Just north of me. The lady I had
charged me $65 every other week for 2400 sq feet minus my office cause I do it myself. I also tipped her. She spent about 3-1/2 to 4 hours here.
All other quotes I am getting from individuals are a little higher than that but I would rather pay more and get better service. Some agencies want around $130. I found one that quoted me $70 to $87 but could not get out to give me an exact estimate until a week later so I am waiting to hear back from the ladies I emailed on Craigslist to see if they can come this week.

My husband refuses to go further north than Tennessee. He believes he will "freeze". I, on the other hand, grew up in the south but have ALWAYS longed to live up north. I have a cousin who grew up here with me. She went to Vermont one year for some job or something, came back home, and said she was moving up there. She did and is now in her late 50's and dreads having to come back down here. She loves it too! She keeps wanting me to come visit but I would want to move even more. Now, I probably will say no to Alaska. I had a girlfriend who moved up there one week after getting married (her husband was from there). She is a southern girl and she was miserable. She would call crying, was thawing her walls out with a blow dryer. I was dying laughing and she was squawling. Twelve years later, she finally told her husband she wand the kids wer moving back south....he could come if he wanted. He did and they have been here ever since.

Doesn't matter what side we come from, we are all here for the same reason and by the same God. My grandfather used to tell me that the south did whatever they could to survive and the north had more money so they were technologically advanced and better educated. That changed a long time ago. I would say we are all pretty even now days. My husband is from Germany and lived in WI before coming here to the heart of the bible belt, and he still can't wrap his mind around sweat tea or cornbread. He says I'm eating cardboard. Just a thought..

I am from North Carolina. I would make sure I visited the Outer Banks and Kitty Hawk. If it was the right time of the year, I would see "The Lost Colony". I just love Hatteras and the lighthouse. North Carolina has some very interesting and beautiful places to see. Also, the Biltmore House in Asheville is very nice, and has beautiful gardens. North Carolina is a wonderful state. Oh, I almost forgot -- the beautiful mountains -- Cherokee, Maggie Valley. Too much to mention.

we had 1 channel when we were north
and it was great. We only had an antenna. Got used to just those shows that came on and if I didn't like something on TV I read or did something else.
For some reason I enjoyed TV much better when I didn't have so much to choose from. Now it's all garbage.
I hate TV but do find I keep it on for noise.
All I say is GO FOR IT. My sister says she wishes she cut the TV off more with their son. Now he's hooked, but their daughter has very little interest in TV. She reads and plays and does other stuff.

and have been here our whole lives. Have visited both CC and Galveston a lot of times. We're thinking of moving closer to one of them, maybe on outskirts somewhere, but are just wondering pricing for homes or even just land to build on. Any idea if is it way high because of beaches?
