lucky to live in a trailer park where she has to defend her way of living?
I would pack up and move if I had to defend where I lived and I would not consider myself lucky.
hey, how come you don't live in a trailer park? if i'm a snob, there are millions of snobs w
live in a trailer park. why do you think people make fun of trailer parks on tv or called clinton's girlfried, paula jones, "trailer park trash" when trying to dismiss her sexual lawsuit against him. trailer park trash is not a joke/phrase others have to wonder about. they have an image and it's pretty much well earned.
Okay home is where the heart is but if you live in trailer park next door to red neck grits
with a mullet and bleached blond hair who drink beer all day and let their kids run wild, your little trailer park heart filled home becomes a bit of a headache because of the neighbors who may not have the same ideals or morals/ethics you do and they are SO CLOSE you can't shut them out of your world. Cheap housing brings in cheap people and in trailer parks you pretty much get what you get neighbor-wise. So my heart may be in my little trailer but my neighbors are part of my homelife.
Maybe it was a knock-off from a mall kiosk.

Don't have one but try Spencer's Gift in the mall - sm
I am pretty sure I have seen them in there.
Go out and do something! A movie, a museum (if open), mall, etc. -sm
I am home just about every Saturday night though I am married, have no family in the area, and few people my husband trusts to babysit. We try to go out during the day all together and do stuff with the kids on Saturday as I usually spend Sunday working all day (yes I am working now, taking a 10 minute break though). When I was single I enjoyed going out by myself and doing things. On the rare occasion now that I go out alone and don't have a million errands to run, I enjoy myself. But you can't meet anyone if you don't go out and try, maybe one of those book stores with cafe's, or the library, etc. Of like my dad (which I wish he hadn't done but its water under the bridge) go to church one night. That is what he did and he met my, now, stepmother that way. I am not religious so I'd never do that. But my point is complaining about being home alone and dateless on Saturday night is not going to change unless get up off your butt and go out. Try it and who knows!
I'm totally avoiding the mall...FOREVER

People are crazy this time of year.  Hello chronic anxiety.

Gift certificate for the local mall or their fav store.
good luck
I only lasted an hour at the mall today before getting so annoyed I had to leave.
All the teeny boppers are slowly cruising around with their friends but not buying anything. People are shoving and cutting in line. I just like to get in, get my stuff, and get out.
Lucky at $12, although SuperCuts in mall is also $12-15. Some barbers will cut women's hair, too,

And there are Christmas Angels in about every mall & dept. store, but people have
always donated through MTStars Santa's House.  As well, we are doing prize giveaways with donations. We encourage everyone to give in any way that they wish.  This is an easy option for WAH folks.
Can you give us a ball park?

Trailer park dwelling
Fine if you want to live in a trailer park, but you should have to pay property taxes. If you want to be treated like everyone else, then pay taxes like everyone else. We had this issue in our community, and we did fight against having a trailer park, because that means the surrounding community has to subsidize the schooling, police, fire, garbage pickup, and all the other services for a trailer park or manufactured home community. I found all this out during months leading up to stopping a trailer park developer. I do believe trailer park dwellers should be treated like everyone else, which means they should have to pay property taxes like everyone else. Currently, in Michigan, they don't. That's not only wrong, it is preferential treatment for manufactured home communities. I'm sure you're as respectable as you say, so start paying your own way instead of making a community subsidize you!
oooh! I have one!! Cherry-Picker Park! (nm)

My friend and I are going to the amusement park first day of school..

I park my six kids in front of the EE-lectronic babysitter
for 12 hours a day while I work.  We got cable TV, videogames and DVDs up the old wazoo to keep them mesmerized.  Every now and then, I throw a bag of chips and a six pack of soda in there for 'em to chow down on.  Heck, I always know where they are.  They aren't a bit of trouble for me.  Iffen I keep the curtains closed, they fall asleep a lot, too.  They do all the housework for me in the evening while I sit on the porch drinking a cold pack of Schmidt beers and smoking cigarettes with my latest boyfriend.  Then we go to the bar while his four kids and my six kids watch movies until closing.  We was thinking about renting a Winnebago to go camping, but the kids don't want to miss a single episode of their favorite shows.
Yep, 8 hrs in a hot kitchen on the burger broiler, at an amusement park.

We are talking about DisneyWorld Transcription, not theme park. Something else entirely.

Also plan on getting a cooling unit to park laptop on
they run anywhere from $30 to $100 depending on features. Worth it definitely to run a laptop for 6 hours or more to keep the unit cool.

why no, i don't live in snobville. did you think you knew me? i live in heritage hills a suburb
it takes a little longer to get to work and shopping but thank god i have some privacy and am away from the congestion.  lovely trees and lakes all around.  maybe about 20 minutes to a large shopping mall.  but no, i don't even know where snobville is.
why yes the quality of air where i live is quite different than where the city people live.
Lots of pollution.  That's why everyone is moving away from the city and areas zoned for multiple housing units and low income housing and trailer parks.  Population is dense and near manufacturing.  So yes, the air is different but millions of people pay a little extra for the quality, the space and privacy afforded to those who move out of polluted crowded areas such as you defend.  There is always a reason why some areas and housing is cheaper than others.  Maybe it is the air and maybe it's something you can't quite put your finger on but you know you would prefer not to live in certain areas.  You know what I mean or are you living in one of those areas?  They tell after awhile you block out the sounds, the smells and get used to the pollution.  I don't know.  I didn't stay long enough to test the theory.  My mental and physical health is way too important to me.
I know they live a long time, so if there is a chance they will out live you - sm
make sure you make provisions for them in your will. I have only had cockatiels and some finches, so don't really know anything about the bigger birds. I love African Grey's but they are very expensive.
Live and let live. Don't force your lifestyle on me.

You must live where I live. I ran into the same sort of SM

true, true - but what you see as arrogance...sm

I think a lot of people go the extreme -

so, if I had to be one way or the other (being a humble extremist myself...*LOL*), I'd rather have too much self-esteem than not enough (been there, done that the first 30 years!!! *L*).  And I am a truly humble person, been recognized for just that.....but because of *been there, done that* - and all sorts of therapies (not drug therapies), some end up the other way.  Oh well, this was a fun couple of posts - so I thought.

Gave me much to chew on :)  Have fun!

True but to say there are no good MTs not true.

I don't. It's not available where I live (sm

I go to my mom's and flip through and don't miss it at all.  All of her stations and hardly anything on to watch.

OMG - how do you live without TV?....I'd die
without my sports! Football season is here, college all day Saturday, NFL all day Sunday, and Monday Night. As well as NHL is back. I would die without my TV.

Not to mention 24 hours on Monday night, Boston Legal on Tuesday night, ER on Thursday night, Law & Order and CSI other nights, as well as my HBO and Max for movies.

Don't know how you do it, but bless you!
Where do you live?
I'm tired of it, too.  I would love to be able to go outside without getting heatstroke!  My animals are in the house all the time, too.  Too hot for them to be outside.
Or go live over there with them
:)
Maybe you could go live in NO

Where do you live?
In the Northeast?
I don't know where you live, but
in Houston, illegals are a real problem.

That is the problem though. They come in the food stamp office driving 30,000+ cars! I cannot get my daughter in headstart because we make too much money. We do not get reduced lunch, and I am fine with that. I would like to have her in the same school as my son though. I even offered to pay for it! Every parent during my son's orientation, everyone, who was sitting there getting their reduced lunch approved and were in there for the headstart had kids wearing Air Jordans and the like. My kids had Wal-Mart shoes on! I see people using food stamps who are wearing Hilfiger. It is crazy. They should be held accountable. If you get on assistance, you should have to, mandatory, complete job training. You should be required to prove you were looking for a job. If we have to, they should do home checks! They say you have to look for a job, fax resumes, but it is not consistently followed up on. They have job training, but it is not mandatory. We should hold them accountable. If we did, it would not be so easy to live off the system.

My mom didn't get any assistance either. The only thing she applied for was the counseling, which she could not get. That is it. She worked 2 jobs as long as I can remember. We didn't have anything either. I got teased many times for my clothes. Then she finally got us out of the bad neighborhood into a good school district and I was going to school with kids driving cars worth as much as my house. That is okay though, because it made me a better person. It made me respect the value of a dollar, work hard for what I want, etc. My mother taught me those things through the hardships she had to go through and me seeing her work so hard. When you have a welfare family, that same mentality is only passed on. Until we do something to change that and hold them accountable, you are just breeding more and more that will expect the same things.

I live.....
I live in NY state!
She was asking about a SO that does NOT live with you.
