Your explanation really helped me to understand better what is going on. I'm not sure I would like the idea of people voting again. Talk about feeling like your vote doesn't count. I would feel like, what happened to my vote the first time? Why do we have to keep voting over and over and what if this happens again, and another recount, so just hold a third election until the outcome changes to favor who wants to keep having the re-votes (even though it might mean more poeple would vote for Obama this time - or maybe not - nobody really knows), but if their main concern is the delegates being seated then why don't they just split them down the middle 7 for Obama and 7 for Clinton or 10 and 10 (or however many there are, just make it an even split.
For some reason I keep hearing John Wayne's voice saying "What in tarnation is going on here". :-)

In the case of New Orleans, the majority of those do not want a help up,they want what they had known prior to Katrina, a monthly hand out!
When the greatest majority of those folks are STILL without jobs, it is because they do not want a job. They didn't have jobs before and they certainly do not feel they should find one now.

I was on the fence between Obama and McCain, but now that I know that the boyfriend of the vice presidential candidate's daughter is an 18-year-old hockey player who uses bad words on his Myspace page, I could definitely never vote for McCain.

I understand that it had to be done, however, I guess I'm wondering is who is going to end up paying for it. Is it going to be us (people who make around $30K or so), or will it be the super wealthy millionaire, billionaire, and then the gluttonous people like Soros - now there's someone whose a slime lizzard). I did find this article written by Motley Fools. They are pretty good for writing things that even I can understand and they wrote an article listing the people responsible. So, I guess my questions is...Are the people who are responsible for letting this happen going to be responsible to get it fixed. After all, if I have a business and I run it into the ground nobody but me is going to pay for it. Anyway...think this is a good article...

Now is not the time to be talking about handups in the midst of a national disaster like the one in NO. In a time like this it is too late for that and inappropriate. But enlighten me, what kind of handup has the republican party offered the displaced NO citizens?
These people NEED HANDOUTS AND YESTERDAY, until they can regain some type of normal existence and then handups would be good. Some people can't stand to see a person get anything. I've learned that's just how some people are. Even though they are cush in front of their computers posting away, they think if I'm not getting 2000 dollars from the government neither should they. And then there's the, I got mine croud. They feel that these people should have educated themselves, worked harder and they wouldn't be in this position, so let em' stay in the astrodome until they can figure something out.

I would love to file early but my tax guy seems to put us on the end of the list. April 15, we get ours done with no chance to look it over before its sent because he does electronic filling.
No worries here, though. We always owe. No matter how hard or how much we pay in during the year, we still owe at the end. Haven't gotten a refund for 10 years.
Oh, wait!!!! I LIED!!!! We just got a check for $6.84 cause we overpaid what we owed. Wow! I'm gonna run right out and buy a six pack of beer.
Hubby wants to frame it and not cash it. Told him he better cash it. Might be the last one we ever recieve. I can always make a photocopy of it.

Depends on what part of California - sm
it's like 2 states sometimes. The central portion of the state: Central Valley in the north, Orange County in the south, chock full of narrow-minded midwest transplants, many of whom are evangelical christians. The coast and mountains have more progressive and free-thinking people. (Also the more highly-educated, as a rule). You couldnt pay me to live anywhere but on the Calif. coast.
Arizona is like a suburb of California these
days. I know what you mean about those shirts too! Even in winter, the Californians are wearing their flipflops. People from other states are amazed to find out it actually snows in Arizona. Frosty can live a long time out here in the wintertime!

You may remember the incident when the war first started and a soldier threw a grenade into a tent killing several other soldiers, including, I believe an officer. This lovely show of support for the soldiers was on display at that convention.

voted to ban gay marriage. California! Well, bet that was a bit of a shock to most folks out there. What happens now to all those gays Gavin Newsom married? Wonder if this one will make its way to the Supreme Court so another vote of the people will be overridden by a legislating from the bench group? I grew up in California and it is a real problem...
They end up closing down emergency rooms because they can't turn away illegals who need medical help and most don't pay. Don't know anything about PA, but it seems to be pretty bad here in Nebraska where I have been lioving since December.
I live in California, I know all about illegal aliens.
I have a much bigger problem with our government murdering people overseas with unjust wars.
By the way, exactly what jobs are they taking away from American citizens...picking fruits and vegetables in hot fields, scrubbing toilets in big office buildings, washing dishes at fancy restaurants? Illegal aliens do the dirty jobs that American citizens are too arrogant to do.

I can give you my take on it.....
he is trying to give tax breaks to them in order to get them out from under the heavy tax burden put ON them by Democrats which caused them to outsource in the first place. If corporate taxes are lower here that only encourages companies to keep their employees here, their operations here, and even encourages overseas companies to but divisions here and employ even more Americans. It is just common sense if you look at it on the face of it. We have the second highest corporate/business taxes in the entire world. If you had a business, would you not want to make money? We ask employers to do huge benefits packages for employees, and then turn right around and tax them into oblivion. They have to do something...either offshore or go under. High taxes and big government are NOT helpful to business, and if business does not thrive, we the people don't either.

Look at what Hitler and Idi Amin and Saddam Hussein were able to accomplish. They were not the majority in their respective countries, but they were able to exterminate millions of people. All I see is promises. calm demeanor is another. He was a bit rattled at some of the questions asked of him throughout the campaign.
I'm afraid of his "form of thinking"... "world view, plans and policies". His voting record leaves something to be desired. He is not focusing on the middle class, but is focusing on the have-nots.
His "voting record, his biography?" Not good. His "accomplishments"? What, that he came up so fast in government? That's a little quizzical. How did he accomplish that?
I am truly worried about his "orientation towards the future," his "multicultural global outlook, his global appeal". Love for his country? We shall see.
We know he loves his family. That I won't argue with, but other things you wrote, yes. I'm not sure he has the gumption to do it all.
