We did not rush in. Gave Iraq plenty of time so they could move their weapons.

Thank you for stating this.
there is a good chance Clinton is out or (which of course will happen) government will change the constitution.
Thanks for stating this. (NM)

Stating that sin
is sin is not passing judgement. If I was judging, I would be telling people they were going to burn in hale. Anyone can repent of their sins but pointing out a sin is not a judgement. It's reiterating what God tells us.
Thank you for stating this.
This is why I am ticked off with Obama and government. He is just taking over EVERYTHING!
I was stating my opinion. sm

I was simply stating that my father has 3 purple hearts and I was a military dependent, living 6 years of my childhood in cold war Germany.  I am tired of the right referring to anyone who does not support the Iraq civil war as "unpatriotic".  I am a soldier's daughter, and I want our troops home, because I do support the troops.

Yes 911 was a terrible terrorist thing.  What does that have to do with Iraq?  Nothing.  Never has, never will.

No problem....just stating
proven facts.  Hoover raised taxes during a recession and it lead to the great depression.  FDR spend money on goverment programs and it actually prolonged the duration of the depression.  History, my friends.....history.
Just stating facts
and the fact is that McPalin's campaign money was spent on those hateful calls.  Dirty, dirty politics.  I am just the messenger so don't take it out on me.
Just stating facts
Obama has been caught in lies and distorting the truth. One man cannot change this country. One man did not get this country into this mess. You can't blame the President for every dang thing happening.

Do you know what Obama called Pennsylvanians? "Those white people," "bitter," "cling to their guns and religion," "they'll call me a black man."

Sound like a great, caring candidate to you?

No, was just stating that we are still paying them...
its not like they are not getting an income while they are campaigning.

The point was that he could share his own wealth if he wanted to without being forced to by the government...lead by example, before he forces the rest of us to join in whether we want to or not.

True, but GM is stating it will take

Stating the obvious
resemble a personal attack. You have clearly defined yourself here. All I did was to tell it like it is.
I never heard her stating that about herself.

If you are stating that he is lying, then
Yes, I did read the whole post. You wrote I'm more concerned about **the lying**, not **I would be concerned if I found out he was lying** or something along those lines.  **The lying** -- again, WHAT lying?
I was merely stating there are TWO sides....
to every story. I have not taken sides, as apparently you have. That is all I am saying. The Palestinians are not without fault either, and their present governing body are on the terror watch list. That should mean something....?
If you had stopped at stating it was from Newsmax...
and not followed that with conservative propaganda in the body of your post...obviously said in an effort to discredit whatever was in the article. I can read between the lines, as can other posters, right and left, I feel sure.
Good for you for stating your views on the war then...
I find it ultra annoying when people start calling others unpatriotic when they don't agree with the war or something else the government is doing.  Isn't being passionate about what you feel is best for the country the epitome of patriotism!?  I think so.
I agree. Sam is stating the facts as well (sm)

as opinions.  Take them or leave them.  Stop bashing others for your benefit.  Sam is above that and doesn't play the bashing game.  Just a strong poster with opinions that don't agree with yours.  You guys are like a pack of wolves.  You are really full of yourselves, aren't you?  Shame on you.

This is a forum for posting opinions, observations, and finds.  Leave it at that and stop the catfighting.

All I'm stating is that this election may determine
At no time did I say other countries are directly involved in our system of picking a President. (That system already sucks enough as it is. Look at the Florida fiasco a couple elections ago).

What I'm saying is, if we don't get some leaders in office that have less ego, and more people skills, who can speak AS WELL AS LISTEN, then we're doomed to continue to have the same problems, and very likely worse.

If our next leader is more into bombing than talking, then we better dust off our nuclear arsenal, 'cause we could end up having to use it. Personally, though, I'd rather see the next Prez. talking and using diplomacy, rather than bombing the s**t out of the rest of the world. What goes around does have a tendency to come around.

I haven't condemned anyone...just stating

nope, just stating facts
and not providing backup - seems to be a common thing on this board. But, since I posted it, it must be true, and if you don't take me at my word, you are blinded by the light of your favorite (insert name here) politician.
I don't think there was any insinuation there. Just stating the facts. sm
Obama better wear a bullet proof vest all the time. I am voting for McCain, not because I like him but as a vote AGAINST Obama. I don't want a president that is not an American citizen much less one who believes in a different God than I do.

Stating our servicemen died for nothing.....
is misinterpreted. No one wants to lose one single troop. The war is senseless and our troops have to believe in what they are doing in order to survive. But, most could claim all wars are senseless. No, I did not know people were protesting our service people (the war, YES, but not our actual service members - head in the sand on that point). Ignorance, if they understood anything at all, they would understand that our troops are doing their jobs by following orders.
Horrible signs were stating
x
Insinuating?? We're stating it as a fact!!!
xx
That is the most clear-cut stating of the facts that I have ever heard. sm
Unfortunately, this could go out on national TV and the Dems and others bowing at the "Altar of Obama" will just keep on blaming Bush and the Republicans.

I for one am going to send it to as many people as I can. It may not make a difference, but it sure can't hurt.
Palin stating Africa was a country

Liberal Media Bias: MSNBC Falls for Palin Africa/NAFTA Hoax -- But So Does Fox News

Even after losing the election, VP candidate Sarah Palin has continued to be in the news for various reasons. Among them was the claim that Palin is so stupid that she thought Africa was a continent, not a country. She was also said to not be able to name the three NAFTA countries. The source: “Unnamed former McCain advisers.”

Makes sense, right? After all, Sarah Palin is your typical simple-minded, non-Ivy-League-educated, baby-making, hick conservative Republican, right? She was John McCain’s middle finger to the American people, right libs?

Well, turns out the whole story is false, a hoax, a scam.

Only this time, one of the guilty parties is Fox News.

Nothing silly about stating obvious facts.
Voters recognized that and acted accordingly. It takes some longer than others to catch on.
What? She has a valid question and stating facts.
nm
What part of just stating fact escapes you?
didn't amount to a hill of beans when it came time for your representatives to roll their sleeves up and hammer out a compromise. My statements are supportive of bipartisan initiatives (as in both parties coming to a middle ground) that move us forward from here. Whether or not I agree with the plan, which side of the fence I live on or what percentage of support for the plan is reflected in the latest polls is immaterial at this point. I keep my eyes on the prize. Those folks needed to do THEIR JOBS, get past their differences, try to come up with solutions and do what is right for the economy...or at least give it their BEST shot. Go stir somebody else's pot.
Forget the bowing, how about Obama stating

WHO THE HECK DOES HE THINK HE IS? PRESIDENT OF THE WORLD?

Obama states America is changing. America showed arrogance, been dismissive and even derisive and in Europe, there is an anti-Americanism that is at once casual, but can also be insidious and blah, blah, blah. He just LOVES making speeches.

You Bushies are struggling to find a new daddy.  Senator Hague (sp?) was a great senator and he was a logical man who appeared to be forthright - which is how I like my politicians.

It must be terrible for you to have had the man you placed in charge to have displaced blatant dereliction of duty in his handling of terrorism, the economy, international relations.  I know you credit him for "keep us safe for 8 years" but Osama bin laden speech clearly stated his aim was not to fly jets into buildings or drop dirty bombs off at bus stops - but bankrupt America by way of war.  This is retaliation against America for their involvement in the Israeli Palestinian conflict.

http://mprofaca.cro.net/binladen_transcript.html

By the way, do you find it rather odd that of all the countries in the world collapsing from their involvement in the U.S. stock market and corporations, Israel is not and is, in fact, economically thriving quite well.  This is after veing at war nonstop for the past 15 years.  Do you find that unusual in the least?  Are you even curious about this since Paulson, Bernanke, Barney Frank along with the owners of the corporations that just been bailed out (why did they bail out freddie and fannie and not Indymac???  Why Bear Stearns and AIG but not Lehman Brothers????).

I have a feeling when everything is said and done, the world will realize we have been fleeced by an elite group of very determined men, men who have thought about this for years.  Bush is a Harvard bus school grad.  He appears stupid and everyone laughs and thinks it is endearing.  But i think he is acting - he thought Iraqi's would greet us with flowers and chocalate?  His father and Cheney have both been documented as saying a civil war would break out if Saddam was removed from power and that it would destabilize the middle east.

Bush and the republican party as they stand now are corrupt and I believe that many of the democrats are as well.  Special interests and corrupt America as bought them.  Now, you may disagree and defend every move made in the last eight years as smart but that is just your ego talking.

Repubs would be wise to listen to both sides a little more closely and raise your expectations for your next candidate.

Bush is accountable for the mess the country is in.  He is a liar, a cheater and a thief - And you can bet he makes a bee line for So. America with his loot when his term is finally up.  Bush, it is stated, was actually a black sheep in his family (Jeb was supposed to be the Bush son who reached the presidency, not George who was not his father's favorite child).

Why did you post this? Republicans have been asked NOT to post here..Bye Bye.
Why did you post this?  Happy Thanksgiving is enough but to be so happy we have a republican president?  Why did you post that?  I would like to remind you, you are on the liberal board.  Are you trying to start trouble?  If so, let me know and I will report you immediately.  No, Im not happy we have a republican president, a warmonger chickenhawk president.  Does that answer your question?  Now, go back to the republican board.  We dont want you here and actually the moderator and administrator have asked republicans not to post here..Bye..bye..

Your revelation about being married to a career Army guy explains why your views are skewed so drastically to the far right! objective views. This is a one-sided publication that asks for donations to keep it going. Nothing I read in there posts anything against any democrats, just republicans. It is not a fair-minded reporting.

I like to read both sides of the aisle but this publication spews hatred for anything not democratic in order to sell books.  To those who can't see both sides, this blog, or publication as they like to state, is just up their aisle. I shake my head at one-sided news. Taken from their web site:

"Indeed, a founding idea of the Consortium for Independent Journalism was that a major investment was needed in journalistic endeavors committed to honestly informing the American people about important events, no matter what the political and economic pressures.

While we are proud of the journalistic contribution that this Web site has made over the past decade – and while we are deeply grateful to our readers whose contributions have kept us afloat – we also must admit that we have not made the case well enough that this mission is a vital one.

Robert Parry broke many of the Iran-Contra stories in the 1980s for the Associated Press and Newsweek. His new book, Secrecy & Privilege: Rise of the Bush Dynasty from Watergate to Iraq, can be ordered at secrecyandprivilege.com. It's also available at Amazon.com, as is his 1999 book, Lost History: Contras, Cocaine, the Press & 'Project Truth.' "

I second your post and 'watcher's post
is misinformed crap.
My post was a direct answer to the direct post...
of Democrat. It was not a blank open-ended statement. And dial it back a notch...it is certainly your right to protest anything any time you want to. Just like it is my right to protest you protesting while men and women are still in harm's way, because you are in effect aiding the enemy. Apparently the Viet Nam experience taught you nothing. Americans protesting in the streets heartened the enemy and when they were about to surrender decided not to, based a lot upon what was happening in the American streets. I believe that the protesting in that war prolonged the war and cost more American lives. Hanoi Jane should have been tried for treason. That being said...lessons were not learned and the protestors are doing the exact same thing now. Exercising the very right bought for them by shedding of American military blood. And I still say common courtesy should keep people out of the streets and off the TV until the military are home safe. But it just proves the same thing to me over and over...the selfISHhness of the protestors vs. the selfLESSness of the military. They continue to put it all on the line for your right to protest anything you want to protest...it is up to YOU to decide where and when that is appropriate, and it is up to you to take the heat for same. It is up to me and others like me (in my opinion) to apply that heat. Go ahead and do whatever your conscience or lack thereof moves you to do. But do not expect those of a different mind not to protest the protest.
Thanks for the post. I think I will look up that

article.

And thanks for pointing out all the other "results" of his administration that, as you say, benefit nobody but the rich and/or the corporations or, as he himself once publicly bragged, "his base."

I know for a fact that when he ran for President in 2000, I told every single person I knew that if he becomes President, we're going to go to war with Iraq.  (Nobody's gonna treat his daddy like Saddam did and get away with it.)

I didn't have a crystal ball.  I had common sense and a good memory from the Gulf War when his father was President and how he didn't "finish the job." Seems a lot of other Americans forgot about that.

I really enjoyed reading your post and all the facts you raised that I failed to raise in mine.  Thanks for the mention of the LA Times article.  I'm going to try to look that up on the web.

I know they don't. I said that in my post. NM
