Good. I hadn't heard the news yet that he's finally

going up for trial. I've listened to all the stations but haven't heard it yet. It's about time. There's plenty that crowd needs to be held responsible for. However, this post was not about Bush is was about the messiah. How convenient for you to switch the subject.

hadn't heard about this. sm
What do you think about it?
Thank you, Sam. I hadn't heard of that...

BTW, it's great to see you back!!!!!!

I hadn't heard about Ben's comments either..sm
And one place I read that happened 5 years ago.
Evidently you hadn't heard the latest.

I hadn't thought about it but we haven't heard much, if anything about whether we are yellow,

Good...maybe we can finally get an energy
policy that relieves us from OPEC, et.al., and save our 700B a year!  Will be tough but the tough will get going again.  We need to fix the railroads to transport goods economically rather than trucking everything.  Sorry to the truckers but we have to get smart again.
GOOD GRIEF! FINALLY!!!
Excellent post.  That's what I've been trying to say all along, but it's fallen on deaf ears.  Thanks for doing a better job than I could do.
I also heard that on the news, that there
are more people going there to possibly dig up more dirt on her. I think that she will drop out soon.
Thanks for that. As soon as I heard the news,
I tried to think of that saying. All I could remember was the last paragraph.
Yes, I realize you heard that on your news....
There is enough blame of this country's problems to go around for all politicians sitting on their fat wallets and fat egos, with the exception of Ron Paul, who refuses to take the bait.

If you think Obama is the answer to our problem though, then you will be one running around hollering, "Whatever will we do, whatever will we do without the government!!!!!!!!

I'd rather do without government. Hasn't done a thing for me.
I agree. Heard so much from news
that most future presidents take a honeymoon period.  Economy must be major chaos, like we did not know before.
I heard on the news day before yesterday...sm
that Obama got a video from the second in command of AL Quada (I don't know how that is spelled.).  He warned him about sending troops to Afganistan.  Also is said to have called him the "N" word.  Did anyone hear what Obama's reaction to this message was?  I never did hear anything else.
Heard a comedian talk about Fox News
said Everytime I watch Fox News, my house leans to the right!
Heard it on the news this morning, then googled it...
there is a lot of information on the net about it.
FANTASTIC!! Best news I've heard all day. (nm)
x
unfortunately I heard news show hosts this morning already
calling out Charlie Gibson to accuse him of asking her difficult questions. ??What country do we live in??

Watch for him to get fired now too, this woman loves to fire people who are not for her.
Heard in the news that Obama can never reason with Iran.
Maybe you all might know this, but this is news to my ears. During most of President of Iran Ahmadinejad's speeches he always states this:

0, Almighty God, all men and women are Your creatures and You have ordained their guidance and salvation. Bestow upon humanity that thirsts for justice, the perfect human being promised to all by You, and make us among his followers and among those who strive for his return and his cause.

Who is this human being promised to all?

Their new messiah. The way this new messiah appears is by getting rid of little Satan and big Satan. Iran muslims,(I was told there are 2 type of muslims) believe when messiah appears, there has to be a lot of blood shed.

WHO IS THE LITTLE SATAN AND BIG SATAN?:

Israel's role is first of all to protect itself, but also to alert others to the danger of militant Islam. They intend to go after Israel, but for them Israel is merely the "little Satan," one stepping stone on the march to world domination. For Ahmadinejad's Iran, Europe is a "middle-sized Satan" and the United States is the "great Satan."

So, how can you reason and do talks with president Iran when he thinks this way and muslims think this way? It is not all muslims that do, but this one particular type. How can you reason with Ahmadinejad when United States in his eyes is Satan? He wants us dead so this new messiah will come to them.

Didn't Bush call him a Tyrant?

I've heard Chatty Cathy in several places on news.
No original thoughts.
The good news is
Now that O is changing the constitution to allow a foreign born like himself become the next president I think Arnold might have a good shot at it next election. Or is the O only going to change it to allow only himself be allowed to be president.
A bit of good news....(sm)

TEHRAN, Iran - The lawyer for an Iranian-American student detained in Tehran said his client has been released on bail.

Mohammad Ali Dadkhah said Tuesday that Esha Momeni was released Monday evening on $200,000 bail.

The lawyer said the 28-year-old student at California State University planned to leave for the U.S. as soon as possible.

He said authorities had not imposed a travel ban on Momeni. But, he said, she could still go to trial on unspecified "security charges."

Momeni's father said he put up the deed to the family's Tehran apartment to cover the bail.

Momeni was detained on Oct. 15. Activists believe she was arrested for her involvement in a women's rights campaign.

Well that's good news
Glad you liked my rant. Man was I hot when I wrote it. I'm so sick of politics being an "aristocrat thing". How many good politicians go unnoticed and don't have a chance just because they don't have tons of money or a "name".
Where can I just get some good ol news

I'd like opinions of where you get your news, what stations do you find give an equal balance.  Please don't bash other stations because as for as many acronyms as I have heard about one news station, I've heard equal many about the others.

I don't watch Fox or MSNBC - those two are so blatanly biased.  I used to watch CNN until the Clinton's got in, then they became the Clinton News Network, never reporting the truth about the goings on of that administration.  Today I thought I'd go back to them to see if they calmed it down a bit with the love affair with the Clinton, but sure enough today I heard Wolf Blitzer say "Is the decade of Clinton bashing over".  I'm just flabbergasted and astounded at the complete ignorance of that station.  Ever since the Clinton's came into action the media has fallen over backwards with their love affair for them.  So, this morning I realized that all three stations, Fox, MSNBC, and CNN won't do it for me.

Where do you all get your news and why do you like it.

This would only be good news IF the.....
job market were progressing upward at the same rate; otherwise, these new houses will sit empty along with foreclosed ones. You don't think this information is manipulated to make you "feel" better about something - after listening to O talking about "crisis" for so many weeks in a row? This won't last, I assure you!
well then that's good news for us liberals!!!

Good news - 2 things
Item #1 is that Michelle Obama has strongly stated she does not want HC picked as VP. (Am sure she is thinking the same thing - she wants to see her husband live through his term).

Item #2 in a poll of 80% of 550 major political figures, 43% say Barack will be the next president, 38% John McCain & 19% HC.
Good news if you want to believe a liberal

About time we got a little good news! nm

Good for Fox News...they refused to run an ad against Obama...

put together by a private citizen (not the McCain campaign), the same guy who was behind the swift boat ads against Kerry.  They could have run it and they chose not to.  Good for them!  I admit, there is cause for concern about Obama's connection to Ayers, but that kind of ad where it is mean accusation and innuendo with no real proof shouldn't be run, in my opinion.  Good for them for stepping up.

North Korea: This is not good news

I was surfing a bit this morning and found this news article from N. Korea. I doubt things will cool off for a long time, if ever. The article headlines state: "Lee Myung-Bak's Group Military Provocations Blasted. From there, it calls him a puppet war monger and states how Myung-Bak outbursts "over the non-existant provocation (my emphasis) by the North."

Very good discussion of the political ramifications of the current governmental failure in this emergency - includes New York Times columnist David Brooks, a Republican with some rather surprisingly accurate statements.

This is good news. It is a reflection of public opinion of the..sm
republican party and how they are running the country. Hope this tide keeps on rolling.
Housing market on upswing - good news!

US housing starts rose sharply in February, providing some good news for the struggling housing industry. (Photo: AP)

Washington - New U.S. housing starts and permits unexpectedly rebounded in February, according to data on Tuesday that provided a rare dose of good news for the recession-hit economy and fractured housing market.

The Commerce Department said housing starts jumped 22.2 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 583,000 units from 477,000 units in January. That was the biggest percentage rise since January 1990 and also marked the first increase since last April.

"That is an encouraging sign for the U.S. economy. It is good signal of what is to come. With the rally in equities we hopefully have seen a bottom for the economy here," said Matt Esteve, foreign exchange trader at Tempus Consulting in Washington.

U.S. stocks have been on the rise over the last several days and the major indexes opened flat on Tuesday. U.S. government bond prices trimmed gains after the data and the U.S. dollar fell against the euro as risk aversion eased.

Very good point!!! The world doesn't see any of that on the news! Thanks for posting that! nm

I hadn't thought about that............ sm
but I do believe you are right!

Have you looked at pictures of Bush from the beginning of his first administration and noticed how much he has aged? The stress of the job has to be unbelievable. I wonder what the youthful and vigorous Obama will look like in 4 years..........Rev. Wright? hahaha
I knew there was a reason I hadn't gotten my check yet...

I really agree with you, but since "they" have not extended the hadn across the aisle,......sm
so to speak, I felt that SOMEONE has to, we have to get this thinking ingrained and replacing this old, worn-out, stupid arcaic partison bullying and namecalling, and SOMEONE has to be the bigger person...why not an old Democrat like me??? :-) but I truly believe what I am saying also, friend!
There have been lots of states who have elected candidates and wished they hadn't. sm

I, too, find the Viggo mortensen tie-in a little strange. I had to reread the entire thread and I only saw Hollywood, no one specific named, was there? Other than Willie and he isn't Hollywood.  Anyhow, I don't like Dennis either.  I can remember when he was all over the news going to do something about the gasoline prices and never heard another word out of him after he was elected.  He's no different than most of them and no better than any of othem.

Okay, I finally get it...
you don't want to pay a high insurance premium. You could find better uses for that money. But is it fair to tax everyone, including all those people who will use the entitlement because they apparently cannot or will not insure their own children, people like me who do struggle to pay health insurance premiums but manage to do so, is it fair to cut into our incomes even more so that it is more comfortable for you to not have to worry about a $1000 premium? You see where I am going with this? Because we, the taxpayers, including you, at all levels, are going to pay for this. Not a cigarette tax because it won't come close to covering the expansion. How is that fair? It is never going to be completely fair to all of us...and you say I keep saying $80K...you keep saying $1000 a month. There are policies that are more affordable than that. Might not be the cadillac of policies, but it would be coverage. It is about choices. Let's drop all social programs EXCEPT free health care for ALL American children (and apparently illegals as it does not seem to bother you they are included). Fund that first, DO NOT raise taxes, ANY taxes. After childrens health care is covered, whatever is left give to other entitlements. Again, what is wrong with tax cuts for those who pay their insurance premiums? Oh wait, I'm sorry. You don't want a tax cut and still pay the premium. You want it free. But again...it is not FREE. Every taxpayer in America will have to pay for it. Frankly, I think it is just as important to fix social security so that the next bunch of elderly won't be destitute...but hey, at least some of you can go on a vacation. SIGH.
Finally, but she has.....
no dignity, or honor, or shame, or anything. I think she finally listened to the people and did the math (the real math that is, not her "fuzzy" figures counting certain states votes (the ones that voted for her) but not others (the ones who voted for Obama). How does she think I feel knowing that she is out there saying my vote doesn't count because my state was for Obama. How does she think the people who voted for her in those states feel when she says their vote is not important enough because they are in Caucus' so their vote should not count. I was never in support of her as I'm sure if you've read previous posts of mine. I think there are so many many other qualified women I would have loved to see run for the white house and I think they would have done a much better job than her. She's just a really nasty person in both her political and personal life. I for one like living in America. I do not want the whole world to be one nation, one country which is what she is pushing for. I want to live in America and keep my job here. She is for sending jobs overseas. Whatever the other candidates are about, she is by far the worst of them. Well actually her and McCain are equal in "evil-ity". That's why I will write in Ron Pauls name at election time (if I can).
Finally...........
I knew there had to be someone out there who actually does their homework. He definitely has associations with some very worrisome and dangerous bed fellows but hey, some are just so anti-Republican they will vote for anything the democrats throw out there. I'm not a McCain supporter either, but Obama's past voting and lack thereof speaks for itself. He avoids invitations to speak wherever he thinks he may be called out on the carpet so to speak and can't wiggle and squirm his way through the answers and all that calm appearance will be put to test. He'll fold like a cheap tent.
ahh . . . someone finally got it.

President's Approval Rating Dips Below 40

By Will Lester / Associated Press

President Bush's job approval has dipped below 40 percent for the first time in the AP-Ipsos poll, reflecting widespread doubts about his handling of gasoline prices and the response to Hurricane Katrina.

Nearly four years after Bush's job approval soared into the 80s after the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, Bush was at 39 percent job approval in an AP-Ipsos poll taken this week. That's the lowest since the the poll was started in December 2003.

The public's view of the nation's direction has grown increasingly negative as well, with nearly two-thirds now saying the country is heading down the wrong track.
